Does KJ really got the money?

Does KJ really got the money?

Does KJ really got the money?

Posted: 02 Jun 2011 11:04 AM PDT

I am not so sure whether KJ really got the wealth as alleged by his many political enemies and rivals. To me, a politician MUST have money to move. Even political parties like Umno needs a lot of money.

However when it comes to KJ, I must admit that I never tried to find out from him or his aides as how much does he got. Besides, a few of his staffs sometimes do relate how difficult was it for him to raise their monthly allowances and wages. He doesnt employ too many even.

There are, of course, theories about his wealth being kept in Singapore and elsewhere but nobody could proof it. Just like allegations against a few Cabinet members who keep their money abroad, and still no evidence.

However, I personally believe in the political trend: that politicians and political parties do get financial support from those who are close as supporters or political funders. Umno too, and in fact other political parties, including the Opposition receive funding from time to time from various sectors.

In fact, the same contributors to Barisan Nasional's purse also help finance the Opposition. So, as a politician, KJ needs that money to operate, especially when it comes to attending to the needs of the constituents. To qualify into politics also need money.

I read KJ's answers to Yahoo's Question Time (read here) yesterday and I found reasons to believe that he doesnt have that much. During his in-law's tenure as PM, he was battered from every corner for his 'role' in the administration, which still runs on 'no proof'. His close relation with Kalimullah also put him into a very difficult situation as many believe the latter used him as his passport to government contracts, but KJ got almost nothing out of it.

It was an interesting 'interview' with Yahoo Malaysia when he gave impromptu answers to most of the questions, including his elevation to Umno Youth top post, his 'shares' in Air Asia, relations with Umno leaders and also with Nurul Izzah, the MP-daughter of Anwar Ibrahim.

He seldom gives interviews but his lengthy explanation to Yahoo Malaysia should clear him of some adverse accusations. I dont know how readers and the public would react to his statements but I saw a different KJ this time around, someone who matures fast.

I dont like asking people about their money but I hope those who have been making such allegations should come up with proof and not based on hearsay. Many people want to 'kill' him but quite a number see him as a promising up and coming Malay leader.

I have nothing against him and I dont think he likes me at all but I must admit how I helped him won the last party election... for 'free'.

Sorry bro... he he he!

Far from the madding crowd and from the daily stress of caregiving.
I have the deepest respect and admiration for caregivers who quietly dispense TLC day in and day out without complaint. Me? After only three months as primary caregiver to my mom, I'm suffering from burn-out.

Thanks to my sister who's in KL to relieve me, I'm able to take a week's vacation in Phuket, and enjoy a temporary respite away from my caregiving responsibilities.

All caregivers welcome a break, but not all are fortunate enough to get that break. A few hours of free time to go out, see a movie or visit a friend can do wonders to lift the morale of a full-time caregiver.

Enjoying the luxury of having someone else do all the housekeeping.
Looking after my mom during her post-surgery recuperation required a drastic cut-back in my work commitments and activities. Now that geriatrician Prof Dr Philip Poi has confirmed that my mom has dementia, my role as her primary caregiver has taken on a new dimension. I have to double my efforts to stay patient and calm. A simple task like showering my mom and getting her dressed for breakfast can be quite an exasperating experience. And there are so many little tasks to get through each day.
My bathroom at the villa is spick and span - no commode, bed pan or strange odours.
Dr Poi tells me not to argue with my mom, as she doesn't understand me anyway and won't even remember what the argument was about. He says I must always humour her and be patient with her. It's easy to accept the advice, but applying it is a different matter altogether. I confess I haven't always succeeded in keeping my cool. Harsh words spoken in a moment of exasperation often leave me feeling guilty and remorseful.

Finally after three months of sleeping on a mattress on the floor next to my mom, I get to sleep on a proper bed in the villa.
It's so important that family members offer to help out with caregiving duties on a regular basis. They should volunteer to take turns to look after their elderly parents for a few hours each week to allow their caregiver sibling a chance to unload some of the stress.
Blogging at my little work-station in the villa.

‘Cops take big risk in naming man in sex video’

Posted: 02 Jun 2011 07:32 AM PDT

Aidila Razak
From Malaysiakini
It has been a rough year so far for Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim and things are not looking to get much rosier.

Facing fresh allegations of yet another sex scandal and last week ordered to enter his defence in a sodomy trial, the PKR de facto leader was admittedly worse for the wear.

"I need a few weeks of rest," said the chuckling 63-year-old in an exclusive interview last week.

"But give up and give free reign to (Prime Minister) Najib (Abdul Razak) and (his wife) Rosmah (Mansor)? That's not possible."

Neither fatigue nor fear of persecution, it seems, will stop Anwar in his tracks, not even the possibility of being named the man in the sex video revealed in March.

The police have claimed to have identified the man but will not make the information public – something Anwar said would involve "a big risk".

"(The police) have been giving political statements (but) taking no action as if the investigation is as complex as the Altantuya (Shaariibuu) murder case.

"(If they announce that it is me) we will deal with it… I think they will take a major risk if they do that," he said.

But the Permatang Pauh MP could not reveal what the "big risk" is, saying that he has been advised against doing so by his lawyers.

Anwar was also short of details over his relationship with one of the men who was behind the screening of the video, Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, claiming that he only knew the latter's full name recently.

'Many claim to be my best buddy'

Speaking tongue-in-cheek, he said that many "claim to be (my) best buddy" and that all of those who jumped ship from Pakatan are his "best buddies" too.

"Some I don't know who their families are or even their full names. Can you imagine? I didn't know his full name until he filed (the 'crooked bridge') case.

"Of course, I know him, yes, close. And believe me I have close friends whom I don't know their names.

"I didn't even know at that time if he is Buddhist or Muslim, I don't know," he said.

In excerpts of the interview below, Anwar speaks about the sex video, its impact on Pakatan Rakyat support and why the word 'Omega' has him hot under the collar.

The content has been edited for language and brevity.

Malaysiakini: Both BN and Pakatan have admitted that the fight for the Malay votes is in fact a battle for the 5-7 percent fence-sitters. How will the sex video affect these voters? This has been the topic of many of your ceramah.

Anwar Ibrahim: I make reference to it because it has been highlighted daily but in my discussion with the team, other than giving out pamphlets about the issue, I don't think we should be focusing about how to do it, it deflects from the central issue of governance and change.

Of course, (their) strategy (is) to use it (on) the Malay crowd. But there is also a backlash because a lot of the normal ustaz and religious teachers who are not known to be with Pakatan Rakyat already expressed the view that it is too much.

But I don't know the impact as I don't really care.

But PKR has launched an all-out anti-slander campaign, showing that you believe there is some impact…

The anti-slander campaign has been done not only by PKR but also DAP and PAS. (PAS vice-president) Tuan Ibrahim (Tuan Man) is leading it.

(Pakatan) is using it to show how desperate Umno is, how corrupt is this politics of pornography, like I said, pandi kutty (piglet in Tamil), which I don't specify to anyone, to show how desperate they are. This is what we meant by poor governance.

I don't think the line is defensive. The line is 'we will show you how nasty they are', that is offensive.

Just because we mentioned the sex video, or sodomy trial, we are defensive? Not necessarily so. How it was articulated… how they used religion to take an oath to protect a murderer, a rapist, anybody can go and swear.

And then it goes back to the issue of governance, corruption, subsidy, price hikes, so it is very important therefore to use this, in fact it is a good issue because it moves people, they get angry at how nasty this is.

The police have said they will not reveal the identity of the person in the sex video. How do you respond to that?

I have never responded. I have not been concerned at all because I have gone to the police, I have gone to the Syariah Court, so then I would like to see what they are going to do.

Then we will deal (with it) at the right time. We will not be dictated to by them because what they have been doing is give political statements, no action, as if the investigation is as complex as the Altantuya murder case.

And in the case of the video, until today there is no action. It's as simple as anyone who goes into a hotel and announces that I'm going to show such a film will immediately be arrested and charged. But not in this case.

What would happen if they say it was you?

We will deal with it at the right time. I think (the police) will take a major risk if they do that.

What are the risks?

I can't tell you. My lawyers will deal with it.

The way you have responded to reporters when they ask about the Omega watch, sumpah laknat (religious oath), DNA samples, you seem very…

It appears…

No, no, listen. If I charge you with having sex every night, will you be happy or angry?

Okay, but you're used to that?

You know I am also human, I have a family. Don't treat me like any rapist somewhere. There was one (journalist), who asked me this question with a very rude manner, from TV3 and Utusan.

Not to blame them per se but they can always say, 'Datuk Seri, I'm sorry, can I ask…' but no. Omega, Omega, Omega. It's meant to be so rude. So how do I address this? I teach them a lesson. They say I made the kid (the reporter) cry, but that's not my problem.

If you are prepared to sell your soul for money, then don't talk to me about morality. This Omega thing, I say no, it's not an issue. Am I right? Now you can see that I am right.

You need to have patience for a few weeks. No, really, if I had responded then you are being trapped. you will say which Omega… you are dragging (the issue) … you give credence.

Perhaps it would have been better to say 'I wish to not comment on this' and let it go.

Okay, well, thank you for your advice on patience. (My wife and PKR president Dr Wan) Azizah (Wan Ismail) takes your view. She said 'Tak apa lah, sabar' (Never mind them, be patient.) She's patient. But you go through it for 13 years… so I want to teach them a lesson by responding.

This is really getting you hot under the collar.

[Laughs] No, it's grossly unfair. I understand that you want to be perceived as an independent media but you must remember that you're dealing with people's lives, people's families.

You are indirectly, although you claim to be doing your job professionally, but you are being a lackey of those corrupt rulers. Like it or not, you want to sell (your papers) therefore you have to report, so you are actually playing their game.

You don't talk about Buku Jingga (Pakatan's 100-day reform manifesto), you don't talk about corruption, you don't talk about economic reforms, because you have to play whose game? Utusan's and Umno's game.

But how did you meet Eskay? So how close are you with Eskay?

I meet everybody. All of them claim to be my best buddy… All those who jumped ship are my best buddies. And some I don't know who their family are, or their full names. Can you imagine? I didn't know (Eskay's) full name until the time he filed the (crooked bridge) case.

Of course I know him, yes, close. And you believe that I have close friends whose names I don't know? At the time I didn't even know if he is Buddhist or Muslim, I don't know.

In the crooked bridge case, he testified that he took (defendant Yahya Jalil) to see you because…

That statement is not too wrong because what was said was this.

(The parties involved) were a Mahathir outfit, close to (then domestic trade and consumer affairs minister) Megat Junid (Megat Ayub). Megat Junid arranged for the appointment for them to come and see me.

So Eskay (left) came and brought this Yahya Jalil and in the affidavit he said that Anwar advised them to go to the (Economic Planning Unit) as it was the EPU's decision on privatisation. So that was it… I sent them to EPU, and in the process (Eskay) asked (Yahya's company for) that RM20 million. That was it.

Did he ask you to testify in his court case?

He did. (His lawyer) spoke to me, they wanted to confirm (the meeting between Eskay, Yahya and Anwar). So I said okay, but (the 'crooked bridge' trial) coincided with my trial.

And later (the lawyer) told me, since this was never challenged, and Yahya Jalil eventually confirmed it – yes, they met Anwar and Anwar asked them to meet EPU, so there is no necessity for me to go and testify to it.

Eskay wasn't happy with it, he wanted me to testify.

So does it have anything to do with the sex video? The fact that you didn't testify?

He didn't say that but in his statement he wanted me and Azizah to resign, which is criminal intimidation.

So in this country, criminal intimidation, pornography are all permissible in Najib-Rosmah's country.

The sex video is the latest of a series of allegations against you post-1998. Why have the attacks against you been largely involving sex?

When it comes to corruption, Mahathir asked for every single file in the Treasury to be looked at and they couldn't find one company or a single share (linked to me). By insinuation here and there, but not a single one, so what else? Sex.

For sex, too, it cannot be adultery which is common among leaders, (Mahathir) said in his private meetings, so they say 'sodomy' because the Malays will reject this. It's nothing new, it's a 1998 story.

After three sex allegations, could it be that people may think that there is some truth in it?

Why do they bring this up? It's a moral issue and who wants to talk about morals? (Prime Minister) Najib (Abdul Razak), (de facto Law Minister Mohd) Nazri (Abdul) Aziz, (former Malacca chief minister) Rahim Thamby Chik?

You may say it's pornography but if they can establish it it's one thing, but you can't create things out of nothing.

[...] That is the problem with the system. I am not talking about Umno or Perkasa, I'm talking about us. Why do we choose to entertain and give credence to the corrupt?

Would you say that what the government or Utusan is trying to do is the truism that if you throw enough mud at someone some of it would stick?

That's true. That's Goebbels. That is a good point to say to our friends, to those who want to reform and the masses including the Muslims.

However effective or incessant the propaganda, finally you look at the facts. You talk about morality, of course, as a Muslim, it's grounded to the religious stance. You have (facts), you proceed. You don't have it, you have to back down. From a religious point of view, you have to back down. from a legal point of view, you can't (proceed).

They say now Anwar is on a very strict diet. How can you bring down three inches just like that. Now wherever I go people look at my face and then my stomach.

I first noticed it in Miri. There, ladies were looking at me, at my stomach. I was so concious you know… I didn't watch the video, I saw some screenshots in Malaysiakini some photographs in the newspapers.. (shakes his head)

I went to Parit and I had to walk from the side of the stage with thousands of people and they were joking "Tak boroi pun (He does not have a pot belly)". It become a joke, of course at my expense.

Now they are countering it saying I must be on a strict diet. Meaning, whatever it takes…

Why do you think that is the case?

I'm seen to be a threat. What else? Say I retire tomorrow, do you think they would proceed with all this? Say I retired in 2004 after my release (from prison), that was the only time feelers were sent to me, whether I could rejoin Umno. Do you think we would have this now?

Anwar was interviewed by Steven Gan, Salhan K Ahmad, Aidila Razak and Kow Gah Chie.

In spite of the many things that are wrong with Malaysia today — e.g. the decay of our political institutions and the greatly coarsened state of our political discourse and deplorable public policies which are threatening to turn us into a Nigeria-type "failed state" — there is still hope that Malaysia can change for the better.

Utusan Kata Husam Beri RM350k pada Kickdefella

Posted: 02 Jun 2011 06:04 AM PDT

"Until today, I don't have that much money in my bank account. It would be stupid to give away that big an amount to someone like him because I have never had that much money in my life," said Husam, who is also a Kelantan state exco member.

Kita jangan lupa bagaimana Kickdefella menuduh Tok Guru makan rasuah.

Four days of (tornado) fury

It's tornado season, folks. Mostly in America and my heart goes out to all who have suffered a direct hit. The damages one sees can be heart-breaking. I have never seen a tornado in action nor experienced one but thanks to modern technology the fury and destruction of a tornado, as they occur, can almost be felt as though one is right where the action is. Rahim Thamby Chik Pun Anti Kumpulan "Erdogan"

Posted: 02 Jun 2011 04:56 AM PDT

Selesai satu perkara, timbul pula masaalah baru.

Baiklah kita sama-sama memenangkan YB Firdaus.

Khairy Jamaluddin”Likeable by all….??”

Posted: 02 Jun 2011 03:26 AM PDT

Could we be just as critical or even worse than Malaysiakini's titled,"LMAOs aplenty during online chat with Khairy" Some say when its protecting our turf we will go all out and leave no stones unturned. There are still a lot of people who are yet to taste the ugliness and unfortunate circumstances which they have put many of us through. We have even wrote it once in our previous article and we do not want to repeat ourselves.

Let's talk about Khairy and how in the last couple of months he has really put himself in the SPOTLIGHT for the wrong reasons especially with leaders from Sarawak and Sabah. He is creating some tremors for both these States and he must be the mosts "likeable..excuse me" person at the moment.

Was it deliberately done…?

1.What did he say hours after the Sarawak State elections. As UMNO Youth Chief and MP for Rembau he tweeted,'In the cold light of the day although we won,we suffered our biggests losses ever in Sarawak. So,Putrajaya ,we have a problem. Face Facts."

2.Khairy made a statement in Keningau,Sabah at the Kaamatan Festival in Penampang which was published by bernama,"UMNO Youth had been caught up in the crisis stemming from the purported cold war."

Sarawak leaders have lambasted Khairy and these can be read here which we posted from various sources:-  1.               2.

Aziz Adenan PBB Youth Information Chief could not justs be firing blanks could he? He has already issued a Press Statement very much earlier that said,"We are disappointed and hurt by the comment of Khairy Jamaluddin in Tweeter about Barisan National election performance in Sarawak Election 2011." Of course,Khairy avoided the subject and did not respond and it has led to an AVALANCHE of public statements from various Sarawak leaders which are attacking Khairy.

Now Salleh Keruak State Assembly speaker and Sabah UMNO deputy liason chief  did not mince his words when he said,"There's no cold war in Sabah UMNO.Sabah UMNO is stable with party leaders and members united under the leadership of chief minister and state liason chief  Musa Aman.

Salleh went on to say such a remark showed that certain people did not understand Sabah politics.

Both Sarawak and Sabah Chief Ministers are under attack by Khairy Jamalluddin and with the Yahoo.Chat Transcripts it just shows that there is more than politics that meets the eyes. Lets put our hands together and clap our hands to Khairy.Likeable or LMAOS (laugh my ass of )

"Hanya Menunggu Tawaran UMNO Dalam Hitam dan Putih...."

Posted: 02 Jun 2011 03:25 AM PDT

(FAKTA: Isi Kandungan Utusan Malaysia ditentukan Biro Politik UMNO)

Muka depan Utusan Malaysia memetik kata-kata Ustaz Harun Din yang meminta semua perwakilan mengekalkan gandingan Ustaz Hadi-Nasa sebagai teraju utama PAS.

Sebelum saya menghuraikan tajuk artikel saya ini, suka saya membawa ingatan para pembaca sekelian sewaktu Dato Najib Terengganu pada 30 April 2011. Dato' Najib dilaporkan berkata:

Dato Harun Din difahamkan membuat dua pernyataan:

1.0 Tok Guru Nik Aziz Nik Mat

2.0 Dato Seri Anwar Ibrahim

Nanti orang kata Perdana Menteri ni macam perigi mencari timba.

Masakan pokok bergoyang kalau tiada angin.

Umno Has Lost Malay Middle Class, Says EIU - By Shannon Teoh.

Posted: 02 Jun 2011 01:16 AM PDT

Despite continued support from rural voters, Umno appears to have been rejected by urban Malays, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit (EIU).

Its latest country report on Malaysia said that the "decline in support may have intensified" among middle-class Malays due to Internet sites "exposing government corruption and political intrigues of individual members of the ruling administration."

"Although voters in the rural heartland of Peninsular Malaysia continue to support Umno, there have been suggestions that the party has lost the support of a significant number of educated, liberal middle-class Malays," the research arm of the London-based Economist weekly said.

But the EIU also warned that "conservative Malays have meanwhile been voicing concerns about the government's plan to reform policies favouring Bumiputera (ethnic Malays and other indigenous peoples), as they believe that the special rights accorded to them in the constitution may be rescinded."

Racial and religious tension has escalated of late with right-wing Malays accusing the Chinese community of trying to usurp political power.

A few weeks ago, Umno's Utusan Malaysia accused church and DAP leaders of plotting to install a Christian prime minister and turning Malaysia into a Christian state.

The Umno-led Barisan Nasional (BN) has also strung together consecutive by-election victories recently in rural and semi-urban constituencies with an increased majority among Malay voters.

But observers say that the April 16 Sarawak election saw an urban-rural divide which resulted in Pakatan Rakyat (PR) parties more than double its tally from seven to 15 seats in the 71-member state assembly.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak is expected to call a general election within the year where BN will expect an improvement on the 2008 result.

He had replaced Tun Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as Umno president in 2009 after the former prime minister had led BN to its worst-ever election showing, ceding 82 parliamentary seats and five state governments.

Regaining the ruling coalition's customary two-thirds majority in Parliament appears to be the only guarantee that the Pekan MP will stay in power.

Pakatan Rakyat Memerlukan Abang Mat Untuk 2 Tahun Mendatang Ini

Posted: 01 Jun 2011 11:49 PM PDT

I was aghast at the Malaysiakini report " Uninvited guests crash anti-lynas protest".

This is a social and health issue.

People are real scared that the setting up of this factory may lead to radiation risk and health problems. Those who oppose this are residents and ordinary people who are at risk should something goes wrong in the proposed project.

Man are fallible, and man-made projects have failings. We have seen this time and again. Even in advanced countries, man-made objects are not fool-proof, no matter how much precautions are taken.

So the feeling of fright and anger are genuine and natural, and demonstrating against the project is nothing political. This is due to REAL CONCERN and REAL FEAR.

It has nothing to do with race and religion. It has nothing to do with anti-BN. I do not understand why there is another group trying to stop the peaceful demonstration of the anti-Rare earth group.

This is a democratic country. If these people are really in support of the rare earth factory, they can always hold another demonstration peacefully at another time and avenue, not to gate crash the peaceful demonstration by the anti-rare earth group.

What has our beloved country become?

This is  akin to hooliganism!

BTW, Germany has become the first country to start doing away with its nuclear plants. I believe more will follow.

Mengapa Media UMNO Bersemangat Pertahan "Kepimpinan Ulama" (Pro Perpaduang)

Posted: 01 Jun 2011 08:46 PM PDT

Tengok muka depan Utusan Malaysia hari ini. Begitu bersemangat pertahan "Kepimpinan Ulama".

UMNO perlu mengangkat satu jari pun.

Secaram mudahnya UMNO mempertahankan kepimpinan ulama kerana:

Gerakan hakis penguasaan ulama

Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim ~ Bdr Sri Permaisuri semakin rosak ..YAB buat apa?

Posted: 01 Jun 2011 07:01 PM PDT

YAB tu maknanya apa?

Yang Amat Bengap?

Yang Amat Baloq?

Yang Amat Basai?

Apa dia?

Menjadi Ahli Parlimen bukan setakat nak gah kesana sini memakai lambang logo Ahli Parlimen kat depan kereta mewah masing masing bro!

Kawasan Parlimen nak kena jaga infrastrukturnya.

< usikan bermakna tu...

Sekali sekala nak kena sua kepala kat kawasan parlimen.

Tu, Kompleks Komuniti Bandar Tun Razak semakin hari semakin mati apa cerita bro?

Buat kerja lah YAB.

SAH!!! Husam Ancaman Besar Kepada UMNO

Husam: 'Saya tak pernah jumpa Kickdefella, dakwaan 100 peratus palsu'
Oleh G Manimaran
June 02, 2011

Syed Azidi meletakkan jawatan pegawai perhubungan awam Perbadanan Menteri Besar Kelantan (PMBK) akhir 2009.
