It seems that N54 Pelagus will remain in the news for sometime to come. A battle won today might not bring the victor much peace as long as the enemy thinks that the "war" is not over yet. The bad blood spilled between the Sngs and Masings has even spilled so far as words coming out from Masings camp as"very good reason to believe that money politics was involved there in the state election".

The full article can be read below from an English Daily which we have extracted. The point when George Lagong who returned called was very simple," I am a God fearing man and I am a Poor man eventhough they perceive George is very Rich and can afford to buy votes. As my name initials the acronym is simple either its  George Lagong as G.L. is "GOOD LUCK or GODS LOVE "

PRS can file the petition and even if they force a by election they will not win the seat again. Its very simple and try they can. Its not even about CM Taib in this seat but the fight is very clear its between you know who.I dont need to spell it out,do I.?

George Lagong won against BN,PKR in a three cornered fight and he has proven to hold his own. He was defeated in the Ulu Rajang Parliamentary seat in 2008 where the "capsized boat carrying the ballot boxes" was headline news. The Petition made by PRS is again giving him the 'publicity which he did not himself seek.

Sources told us that PRS was even asked to consider Larry Sng at the very last minute as this will be a BN sure seat.{BN independant candidate} However it was turned down eventhough "persuasive powers" were used and there was also a written agreement to the PM from PRS.

Could this Petition be used to ask George to join PRS..?

N54 Pelagus was a very hot issue before the elections and this petition will not stop the 'fire" that is still burning between the parties concerned. PRS will do well not to publicly issue statements which might come back to haunt them especially 'money politics

The extracted article below:-

SIBU: Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) has filed an election petition to nulify the result of the contest for the Pelagus seat in the April 16 state election.PRS Pelagus division chief Philimon Nuing accompanied by party Information chief Wilson Nyabong and lawyer Sim Hoi Chuan filed the petition at the Sibu High Court today.

According to Nyabong, who is the Pelagus seat director of operations, the party had "very good reason to believe that money politics was involved there in the state election".

The petition was filed before senior assistant registrar Suhailla Selag.

In the election, PRS/BN candidate Stanley Nyitar @ Unja ak Malang was involved in a three-cornered fight with Edward Sumbang of Parti Keadilan Rakyat and George Lagong who stood as an independent.

George won the election with a 2,837-vote majority.

He garnered 5,740 votes against 2,903 obtained by Stanley and the 1,171 obtained by Edward.

The voter turnout was 9,986. This is the first petition filed after the election. – Bernama

"WhenYOUR FACE CHANGE  the sun is shrouded in darkness, and when the stars lose their light, and when the mountains are made to vanish, and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, and when all beasts are gathered together, and when all human beings are confronted with their deeds, and when the girl-child buried alive asks for what reason she had been slain, and when the scrolls of men's deeds are unfolded, and when heaven is laid bare, and when the blazing fire is kindled bright, and when paradise is brought into view: every human being will come to know what they have prepared" (Quran 81:1–14, trans. Muhammad Asad).

By Sohaib N. Sultan One of the most oft-mentioned theological teachings in the Quran, Islam's sacred revealed scripture, is that only God is infinite and everything else other than God is finite with a determined beginning and end. Likewise, the world as we know it is perceived to be a created entity with a specific lifetime. The end of times is, therefore, a prominent theme in the Quran. One particularly evocative passage, for example, reads in translation like this:
"When the sun is shrouded in darkness, and when the stars lose their light, and when the mountains are made to vanish, and when she-camels big with young, about to give birth, are left untended, and when all beasts are gathered together, and when all human beings are confronted with their deeds, and when the girl-child buried alive asks for what reason she had been slain, and when the scrolls of men's deeds are unfolded, and when heaven is laid bare, and when the blazing fire is kindled bright, and when paradise is brought into view: every human being will come to know what they have prepared" (Quran 81:1–14, trans. Muhammad Asad).
In typical fashion, the Quran speaks generally and somewhat vaguely about the events leading up to the end of times and the Day itself. The hadith (the collection containing the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad) offer more specifics. According to the many hadith on this topic, the Prophet Muhammad foretells that previously poor barefoot shepherds will compete in making tall buildings; people will engage in much violence, bloodshed and anarchy; sexual immorality will become rampant and public; natural disasters will increase tremendously; an impostor by the name of Dajjal will delude people into following and worshipping him; and Jesus will return to confront and ultimately kill the Dajjal; among other things. Naturally, the Prophet Muhammad's companions would ask when the end of times would come. Muhammad would always answer, "the one who is asked knows no more than the one asking" or he would reply with a question, "what have you done to prepare for it?" The Prophet also discouraged people from engaging in baseless predictions and from using the end of times theology as an excuse for inaction. On one occasion Muhammad turned to some of his companions who were discussing the end of times and said, "If you see the sun rising from the West (a final sign of the end of time) and you are planting a seed, continue planting that seed."
It looks like Ibrahim Ali, praised to the skies by the right-wing Malays and villified as an evil cartoon by others, is bent on staying in the headlines and accumulating notoriety. No matter how strong the torrent of complaints, no one is going to do him out of his two cents in the limelight.
And somehow he has managed again to draw a combination of laughter and scorn from his most hostile audience. On Saturday, Ibrahim denied accusations that he is racist, citing as an example his past gifts of fertiliser and cash as proof of his affection for the Chinese.
The Chinese, though, disagree with his latest presumption. To them, "a few bags of fertiliser" was nowhere near sufficient to compensate for his racial insults of the past.READMORE Ibrahim Ali prepare your Defence End of Times in Islam when the girl-child buried alive asks for what reason she had been slain, and when the scrolls

Clear And Present Danger In Malaysia

Posted: 21 May 2011 08:19 AM PDT

That title - 'Clear And Present Danger' - caught my attention in Malaysiakini. I had instant thoughts of Jack Ryan, the Intelligence officer every country wants to have.

For those of you who read Tom Clancy, you'd probably know it was from a title of one of his books. Others may remember it being a movie based on that book.

But did you know that it was first used by Justice Oliver Wendell Holmes, Jr in his opinion regarding the freedom of speech? He says:

The question in every case is whether the words used are used in such circumstances and are of such a nature as to create a clear and present danger that they will bring about the substantive evils that the United States Congress has a right to prevent. It is a question of proximity and degree.

It was then that I understood how apt the title in Malaysiakini was: Ibrahim Ali a clear and present danger

That being said, I do not advocate either the ISA against Ibrahim Ali. It was a draconian law and can be replaced with other laws that demonstrate human rights even when the perpetrator is not deserving of those rights.

It's not just Ibrahim Ali who is a clear and present danger.

We have overlooked a huge blimp on the face of humanity. His name is Ridhuan Tee.

His blog is still spewing bile - in what seems to be a logical and reasonable manner.

This man is seditious in every sense of the word.

While most people can agree that this Utusan Malaysia fiasco is a major boo-boo by UMNO, Ridhuan Tee attempts the impossible - to defend the spin-bloggers and even Utusan. Some excerpts:

Based on my experience of the Christian religion [Ridhuan Tee claims to have been Christian once] and tales from some church-going Christian friends, the newspaper report last Saturday about the movement to Christianize [the country] was not surprising.

It cannot be denied that there are ambitions in that direction, although perhaps not as extreme as reported or described. However, to completely deny that the movement does not exist is unfair to Utusan. Utusan seems to be alone. Its friends have become opponents.

The Christian movement in Malaysia through the ultra kiasu [he is referring to the Chinese here] and several other political parties has long existed. The chief ultra kiasu in Selangor is the main planner.

Yet we keep giving them the benefit of the doubt [see how he implies that the Muslim Malays are a tolerant lot being taken for granted?]. Every Sunday, the Selangor ultra kiasu bulletin is provided and distributed free at the church. The goal is to maintain power.

I feel increasingly sick at heart when I heard a Christian senior minister going as far as to say, "What is wrong with a Christian becoming the Prime Minister?" It is not wrong because the constitution does not specify religion of the person who can become Prime Minister. The issue is that those who understand the history and politics of Malaysia would be most hesitant to seize the position of Muslims (Malays). In this case, we want a leader who has integrity and is respected. [he is implying that only a Muslim Malay could do the job].

It is the duty of Christians to spread their religion across the world, as enshrined in their holy book. As is our responsibility towards Islam. The special circumstance in our country, is that Islam is protected from propaganda of other elements.

They want to make Southeast Asia a Christian hub after their success in Indonesia. Their next target is Malaysia, after success in Singapore. Among the target areas are Mentakab, Kuantan, Perak, and so forth. Don't bother mentioning the states which are ruled by the ultra kiasu. That is their paradise. Many of their representatives [Pakatan?] are strong Christians [ah, so it's political after all - he's saying vote for UMNO, not Pakatan].

Construction of houses of worship should have a formula [he means restricted 'ratio'], rather than allowing anyone with a lot of money to build anywhere he likes. Based on that formula, one day Malaysia would be filled with churches and temples, due to their tremendous ability compared to Muslims, because they have an international network [this is fear-mongering, claiming that Christians will take over the nation].

I still remember how two years ago, an al-Islam magazine reporter in July 2009 was arrested for going undercover in the church [arrested? no such thing!]. There was a national outcry, and the management of the magazine al-Islam was severely criticised. There was no one who defended the magazine and journalists, and politicians even issued hurtful statements. [That al-Islam reporter got away scot-free for the ruckus he caused. As usual. This fool Icker Tee is spinning himself dizzy.].

Sometimes I am very sad when I observe our politics. Not defending friends. Friends become enemies simply due to fear of losing power. If there are any issues they feel are not favorable, they are willing to stab a friend.

I'm not saying masquerading in the church should not be censured, but as Malaysians, we also have a right to know what happened there. Was it not true, Muslims were being converted at the church? If it affects the Muslims, there is silence on our part but if it affects them [the ultra kiasu/Christians], they all consider themselves victims. Isn't the issue of apostasy to be defended by Muslims more important than siding with the cause taken up for those who die when they are being investigated by the authorities as they may well even be guilty. [I think he is saying the deaths in custody are unimportant.]

Lina Joy is just one among so many young Malays who have plunged into the valley of unbelief (i.e. become an infidel). I do not know if the top leaders are aware of this wave of Christianization, or do they know but are unable to contain it? To date, they have not addressed these unhealthy symptoms, or are deliberately waiting to let the issue resolve itself.

There is no doubt there is a church to condemn Islamic centers and low-modest Islamic religion. Watch this youtube video:

How can a Christian priest insult and condemn Islam? Imagine if we were to speak so, then we will be criticized, slammed and come under the glare of great publicity. [Yeah right! It's stupid to the point of being comical]. This youtube video is just one in a thousand, many more criticize Islam. Muslims remain silent. No protest is made. According to my friend, this is what happens in many churches in Malaysia.

Imagine if we were to do the same, then the Christians would all unite to fight, to urge the government to take action against the Muslims who criticize Christianity. Although non-Muslims are forbidden from spreading their religion to Muslims as guaranteed by the constitution, but they do not care about observing the strictures, because we are not concerned. We are too lenient for fear of losing votes [Aren't you impressed by how brazenly he tries to claim that Muslims are being oppressed and taken advantage of by the Christians?].

All our weaknesses are obvious to Christians. For these reasons, they are so bold and hard-hitting. We are just too fearful. I would like to remind all of us, our strength is not dependent on the Malay but our strength depends on Islam. If Islam among the Malays is destroyed, the Malays will be destroyed some day.

If you would like to read more fear-mongering and outright lies, you know exactly where to go - Icker Tee's website.

The educated and moderate Muslim Malay would not be fazed by this sort of foaming-in-the-mouth. But what about the impressionable, not so intelligent one?

Dominique Strauss-Kahn Released From Jail, Will Be Held Under House Arrest

Posted: 21 May 2011 05:11 AM PDT

NEW YORK — Former IMF chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was released from jail Friday and will be held under house arrest near ground zero after the luxury apartment where he had arranged to stay fell through because the neighbors objected to the media frenzy.

Prosecutors said he will be temporarily housed in a building on a small street in lower Manhattan within the Police Department's "Ring of Steel" – a network of private and police cameras near where the World Trade Center stood. While he is there, his family and lawyers will look for a more permanent place for him to await trial on charges he tried to rape a hotel maid.

The original plan was for Strauss-Kahn to move into a luxury residential hotel under armed guard on Manhattan's well-to-do Upper East Side. Even though the address was never officially released, police and reporters soon converged on the building, the Bristol Plaza.

"Last night there was an effort by the media to invade the building," Strauss-Kahn attorney William Taylor said. "That is why the tenants in the building will not accept his living there." While Strauss-Kahn's family had a lease and could have stayed, he decided to leave "out of respect for the residents."

Late in the day, after the snag over where the banker would serve his house arrest had been resolved, Strauss-Kahn was released from the city's Rikers Island jail on $1 million cash bail. The 62-year-old former managing director of the powerful International Monetary Fund had been behind bars since last Saturday.

During his time in temporary housing in lower Manhattan, at least one armed guard will be watching him at all times, and he will have to wear an ankle bracelet. His apartment's exterior doors will be outfitted with alarms and video cameras, on orders from the judge who granted bail.

"This is intended to be temporary, meaning a few days, and in the meantime, efforts would be made to arrange for another suitable residence," state Supreme Court Justice Michael Obus said.

Prosecutors had argued against Strauss-Kahn's release, warning he might use his wealth and international connections to flee to France and thwart efforts to extradite him, like the filmmaker Roman Polanski.

Strauss-Kahn cannot leave his temporary housing at all. Once he is settled somewhere permanent, he will be allowed to leave only for court dates, meetings with his lawyers, doctor's appointments and weekly religious services, and he will have to give prosecutors at last six hours' notice. No trial date has been set.

He is accused of attacking a 32-year-old housekeeper in his $3,000-a-night hotel suite. The West African immigrant told police he emerged naked from the bathroom, chased her down and forced her to perform oral sex. He has denied the allegations.

Tenants of Bristol Plaza – featuring furnished apartments with Italian marble bathrooms, flat-screen televisions, king-size beds with goose down pillows – were upset at the prospect of a media feeding frenzy outside their door. The wealthy neighborhood attracts a crush of dignitaries from the United Nations, and Bernard Madoff lived close by.

"I didn't want him here," said Dolores Gonzalez, who was afraid the spectacle would tarnish the building's dignified reputation.

Her neighbor Charles Katz agreed: "It's going to be very crowded, noisy, attracting the press and other people."

Former IMF Chief Dominique Strauss-Kahn was granted bail Thursday, but before he can taste the crisp clean air of potentially fleeting freedom, his lawyers and family must find a place for him to stay.

From NBC New York:

A source familiar with the case says defense attorneys are now seeking to place the French politician in a corporate apartment used by the private security firm that will be guarding him when he is released.

NBC New York first reported that Anne Sinclair had rented an apartment at the luxurious Bristol Plaza on East 65th Street. But that has fallen through for use as a place for her husband to stay, a source said.

The New York Times spoke to some residents of the building, who expressed their distaste about possibly housing the accused former head of the IMF.

"I think it's an inconvenience for all of us," said one resident, Michele Smith, who spoke outside the Bristol. "I don't want that kind of publicity in my building."

But New York is full of unique real estate opportunities, especially if you're looking to spend $14,000 a month. Perhaps Strauss-Kahn can take advantage of people looking to unload their apartments before the world ends. Although, if he tries that route, he's got competition.

Perhaps the ex-IMF bigwig would prefer something that more closely resembles his jail cell at Rikers Island. In which case, he might want to look into buying the narrowest house in New York City, which is now on the market for only $4.3 million.

Or maybe Strauss-Kahn is looking for something more refined, with European sensibilities. This Mediterranean mansion in the Bronx could do the trick.

Wherever Strauss-Kahn ends up laying his hat, he'd better make sure it's not an illegal hotel. The guy is in enough trouble with the law as it is.

The disgraced IMF head faces charges of a criminal sexual act, attempted rape, sexual abuse, unlawful imprisonment and forcible touching stemming from accusations made by a hotel maid. Strauss-Kahn denies all charges.

Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (born July 30, 1947 in Thal, Austria) is an Austrian-American former professional bodybuilder, actor, model, businessman and politician who served as the 38th Governor of California (2003–2011).

Schwarzenegger began weight training at 15. He was awarded the title of Mr. Universe at age 20 and went on to win the Mr. Olympia contest seven times. Schwarzenegger has remained a prominent presence in the sport of bodybuilding and has written several books and numerous articles on the sport. Schwarzenegger gained worldwide fame as a Hollywood action film icon. He was nicknamed the "Austrian Oak" and the "Styrian Oak" in his bodybuilding days, "Arnie" during his acting career and more recently the "Governator" (a portmanteau of "Governor" and "Terminator").

As a Republican, he was first elected on October 7, 2003, in a special recall election(referred to in Schwarzenegger campaign propaganda as a "Total Recall") to replace then-Governor Gray Davis. Schwarzenegger was sworn in on November 17, 2003, to serve the remainder of Davis's term. Schwarzenegger was then re-elected on November 7, 2006, in California's 2006 gubernatorial election, to serve a full term as governor, defeating Democrat Phil Angelides, who was California State Treasurer at the time. Schwarzenegger was sworn in for his second term on January 5, 2007.

On May 16, 2011, it was revealed that Schwarzenegger had fathered a son ten years earlier with an employee in their household named Mildred Baena, leading to his separation from his wife of 25 years, Maria Shriver.

Maria Owings Shriver ( /ˈʃraɪvər/; born November 6, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois, U.S.A.) is an American journalist and author of six best-selling books. She has received a Peabody Award, and was co-anchor for NBC's Emmy-winning coverage of the 1988 Summer Olympics. As executive producer of The Alzheimer's Project, Shriver earned two Emmy Awards and an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences award for developing a "television show with a conscience". She was formerly First Lady of California as the wife of actor and then-California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, and is a member of the Kennedy family.

Mildred Patricia Baena a.k.a "Patty" Baena has the Internet buzzing today. Patty as she is known to family and friends is said to be the woman with whom Arnold Schwarzenegger fathered a child out of wedlock. Almost exactly one decade ago Arnold found out he sired a child with the family housekeeper.

Since Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver announced their split last week, there have been whispers that Maria was the one who ended the relationship because she just couldn't live with Arnold's constant cheating. Maria put up with the cheating for years but the news Arnold recently told her about the secret love child was a bit too much.

Major news organization are identifying Mildred Patricia "Patty" Baenaas as the woman who gave birth to Arnold's illegitimate son. Patty, who is 50 now, didn't tell Arnold, who is 63 now, about their son until the child was a toddler. Arnold, in turn, never bothered to share this bit of information with wife, Maria Shriver, 55, until a few months ago. The boy, whose name has not been disclosed as he is a minor, is now around 14 years old.

Patty retired as the family housekeeper in January. She lives in a four bedroom house in a Los Angeles suburb. While Arnold is said to have been "generous" financially to help raise his son. Baena is close to losing her house due to a lien placed on it by a security company.

Arnold's wife-soon-to-be-ex-wife (most likely!), Maria Shriver, found out about this particular infidelity and half brother to her children sometime in January. Shriver described the situation as "heartbreaking." "This is a painful and heartbreaking time," Shriver said in a statement.

"As a mother my concern is for the children. I ask for compassion, respect and privacy as my children and I try to rebuild our lives and heal. I will have no further comment."

How could Maria have missed this? And I thought she was a journalist… A little Mexican kid speaking with an Austrian accent? It should have been so darn obvious. LOL!

As for Patty Baena, is no longer married—she initially told her friends, family and employers that her then-husband, whom she divorced in 2008, was the father of her child—has three other children, with whom she lives outside of Los Angeles. It is unclear when or if the teenager was informed of the identity of his real father, though Schwarzenegger has been giving financial support to the boy

How did Arnold Schwarzenegger manage to hide the fact that he'd sired a child with his housekeeper while holding down perhaps the most high-powered job there is in a state where gossiping about people in power is an industry? Any Hollywood insider can tell you, there's one person who's done more than anyone else to shield Schwarzenegger from negative publicity. Marty "Mad Dog" Singer is an attorney to the stars, a so-called Hollywood pit bull who's amassed a fortune by going after publications that print — or even just consider printing — unflattering things about his clients. His Century City firm, Lavely & Singer, counts among its roster of past and present clients the likes of Britney Spears, Bruce Willis, Celine Dion, Jim Carey, Sylvester Stallone and Eddie Murphy. This winter, when Charlie Sheen went on a verbal rampage against his bosses at CBS and Warner Brothers, Singer jumped into the fray, firing off a five-page letter threatening the companies with legal action on Sheen's behalf. The pugilistic letter demanding a retraction or threatening a lawsuit is a Singer specialty. Mark Ebner, the co-author with Andrew Breitbart of "Hollywood, Interrupted" and an investigative journalist whom Singer has sued (the suit was thrown out), said, "If you don't have a letter from Singer hanging on your wall, you haven't fulfilled your career as a journalist." In a 2004 Los Angeles Magazine article, David Perel, the editor of the National Enquirer, said, "I get so many letters from Marty, he's my pen pal." (Singer didn't respond to requests for an interview.) When it comes to Singer's Schwarzenegger file, one letter in particular is legendary. In 2001, when Schwarzenegger was first talking about the possibility of running for governor, John Connolly, a journalist and former New York cop, wrote a piece for Premiere Magazine where he depicted Schwarzenegger as a womanizing boor who couldn't keep his hands to himself. Garry South, a high-profile California political consultant who was running Gray Davis' reelection campaign for governor at the time, faxed the article to several dozen California reporters with a "smart-ass" cover memo that, as South recalled, referred to the "exposé" as a "very 'touching' story." The Singer response came swiftly. "The letter started coming over one of our fax machines," said South, "and we had these old bulky fax machines and one of the pages did not come through. So the person at the front desk called the law firm and said the letter you sent through was missing pages, and they got all huffy about that and faxed over their fax log sheet and a memo saying we lied." Singer's firm then hand-delivered a copy of the five-page letter to South's office. In the letter, Singer accused South of "politically-motivated mudslinging." He intimated South could be sued for libel, demanded South "promptly" send out a statement "retracting and correcting" the memo and described the article as "replete with fictional events that simply never took place." "Your use of the term 'exposé'," he asserted, "conveys to the reader that you have adopted as your own all of the wrongful statements contained in the Article. This you have done at your peril." "It was disconcerting," South recalled. "It was a little scary to be threatened with a libel suit by a multimillionaire megastar who could potentially ruin you financially if this thing proceeded." Asked if he'd ever received a letter like it before, South said, "Never in my life –- and I ran my first campaign in 1972." Singer was not the only Hollywood pit bull in Schwarzenegger's circle. In 2001, while Schwarzenegger was making his first foray into politics, there were three public relations people on his staff, among them Sheryl Main, an entertainment publicist known for her loyalty and toughness. In a 2003 Los Angeles Times article published just a few days before the recall election that brought Schwarzenegger to the statehouse, Main defended her boss against allegations that he'd groped a British television presenter named Anna Richardson — a claim previously made by Richardson in the inflammatory Premiere story. Main claimed she'd seen the whole thing go down, saying it was Richardson, not Schwarzenegger, who'd acted provocatively, touching her breasts and sitting on his lap before getting kicked out of the room. In 2006, as Schwarzenegger prepared for his reelection campaign, Richardson sued Schwarzenegger, Main and another Schwarzenegger aide for libel. The suit was settled. Along with Main and the rest of the publicity team, Schwarzenegger's entourage also included a pair of tough-guy bodybuilder types who acted as his bodyguards and confidants (and played chess with him). And then there was Maria Shriver, who stuck up for Schwarzenegger as adamantly as anyone. John Connolly, the journalist who wrote thePremiere article, said Schwarzenegger also enlisted the services of Anthony Pellicano, the Hollywood private investigator who was sentenced to 15 years in prison in 2008 for an array of charges that included illegal wiretapping and racketeering. Connolly, who is writing a book about Pellicano, said Schwarzenegger and Pellicano would meet at Caffé Roma in Beverly Hills, one of Schwarzenegger's favorite hangouts. Citing four unnamed sources, Connolly said Schwarzenegger hired Pellicano to "shut up" the women who could potentially destroy his political hopes. He also said that Schwarzenegger retained Paul Barresi, a former porn star turned private investigator and longtime Pellicano associate who'd reportedly worked with Singer. Barresi could not be reached for comment. In the 2004 Los Angeles Magazine article, Singer said he'd worked with Pellicano on "maybe a half-dozen cases." He denied that he'd ever used Pellicano to protect someone from a media takedown. In a 2008 interview with the media blog Fishbowl, Barresi said he'd been tasked with digging up information about Schwarzenegger's detractors -– "anyone who may want to harm him, should he run for office." Asked if he'd compiled a list, Barresi answered, "A mile long." Despite all the effort that went into stamping out the sparks of rumor and innuendo that flew around Schwarzenegger, the National Enquirer published a series of articles in 2001 detailing an alleged affair with the actress Gigi Goyette that claimed he was on the verge of splitting up with Shriver because of his philandering. TheEnquirer and the two other papers that made up the tabloid wing of the company American Media, Inc. – Star and The Globe -– were formidable foes. Even Singer's epistolary onslaughts weren't enough to derail the tabloids from their mission of ruining one of the best-protected reputations in Hollywood. But all that changed in 2003, when AMI set out to buy a muscle-magazine company owned by a close friend of Schwarzenegger's. David Pecker, the head of AMI, needed Schwarzenegger's cooperation on the deal, according to the Los Angeles Magazine article, so he met with the star at his Santa Monica production office and later signed him to a lucrative contract as executive editor of two of the muscle magazines, Muscle & Fitness and Flex.

Three weeks after that Santa Monica meeting, Schwarzenegger announced that he was running for governor. Throughout the campaign, the tabloids' coverage of Schwarzenegger was relatively muted.readmore   How Did Arnold Schwarzenegger Keep His Cheating Hidden For So Long? PLUS Highway Auto Breakdown Workshop Scam! GS Automobil Enterprise..

Posted: 21 May 2011 04:19 AM PDT

Dear fellow Malaysians especially those of you who are motorists,
I received an email which I am reproducing below from a retired Assistant Commissioner of Police who has asked my help in alerting the general public of this auto breakdown repair scam by a workshop using the trade name of GS Automobil Enterprise.
I called the number given at the end of the email and spoke to a Peter Ooi who confirmed that the report is genuine and that his friend Alvin is the victim of the workshop named. He gave me the mobile number of Alvin (0167732920) and I called his number only to get a voicemail in Mandarin and Alvin failing to answer my call.
Update (7.01pm) : Alvin just called me and confirmed that this is a real case. The GS Automobil Enterprise workshop has tried to bleed him with a RM7000 bill! The scamming workshop has caused him to replace his car engine entirely and according to Alvin many other unsuspecting motorists have also fallen prey to this cheating workshop!!!
Anyway, since Peter Ooi himself has confirmed that this report is real, I am sharing it here with you, my fellow readers and fellow Malaysian motorists.
I almost fell victim to a similar scam recently when my car had an aircon breakdown while traveling back to KL from Melaka. There was a Chinese mechanic going around the Seremban R&R heading towards KL, offering his auto repair services.
He came around to ask if I needed help when he saw me looking at my car engine with the bonnet up?
Told him that my Proton Wira aircon wasn't working despite the radiator meter level showing normal and no apparent problem. He took a look at the radiator water level and claimed that there was a blockage in it. He offered to take apart the radiator and clear the blockage and solve the problem for RM120!
Luckily for me, I had called my mechanic at KL and told him of my car's problem. He told me to bring the car back to his workshop for him to check so I didn't take up the Seremban R&R unauthorized roving mechanic and refused his 'help'.
When I reached KL later and brought my car to the workshop, it turned out that the problem was because my aircon fan belt had simply worn out. No other problems. Since my mechanic had just serviced our car a couple of days ago, he replaced the aircon belt for free since the service warranty covered such a problem. Thank God that I didn't fall prey to the scamming mechanic.
Now, I am more alert and aware of such scammers out there who cheat, lie and in fact endanger our lives by giving shoddy repair work or replace our auto parts with non genuine items that will cause us to be involved in auto breakdowns or even get us killed when involved in any accidents due to faulty auto parts!
The following is a true incident where Alvin suffered an auto breakdown along the PLUS highway near Seremban, Negri Sembilan and got scammed to the tune of RM3K over with his car damaged purposely!

Dear all (especially for those who travels a lot with PLUS North-South Highway),

This is a true event! It happened to my friend, Alvin.

Alvin came all the way from JB to Selayang, KL, on a business trip. At about 12:30am, 29/4/2011, his Toyota was over-heated, he then parked at the emergency lane (KM269.9) before Seremban exit, North-South Highway. Planning to let the engine cool down, add water to the water tank and slowly drive to KL, he took his rest for a while...

A while later, a tow truck arrived to offer a helping hand. The driver is an Indian wearing a Chinese workshop jacket, estimated the towing fees and rough costing to repair the over-heating engine for about less than RM200. Both agreed, the car was towed to a workshop in Mambau. Seremban.

Yup, it's GS Automobil Enterprise !!!
Operated by a bunch of Indian. (I don't mean that all Indians are like them, I have lots of good Indian friends too.) There, the workshop boss quoted Alvin for about RM300 plus. Then he asked his workers to start dismantling the engine to inspect the gasket. He then told Alvin to come back the next day to get the car. Without any choice, Alvin left the workshop to look for a hotel nearby...

The next day, Alvin went back there to see the progress... there he waited, waited waited... started to worry, at that moment, there was a mid-age Chinese guy with his family seemed waiting for there car too. They started to find out that things are not right and the later went to the police station nearby to make a police report and came back to claim the car. He was charged RM2,800.00 for also a simple engine over-heating problem! And Alvin's bill is RM3,939 !!!

After everything was settled, he left Seremban heading back to KL...

Half way through, he had to stop at the emergency lane again because the engine was HOT again!!! Slowly he moved, stopped to cool it down, drove another few km... and so on until he reached KL. Here, the mechanic did a complete check to find out that the engine was completely doomed because "someone" purposely did something to the engine to kill it after sometime... OMG. That is so evil!!!

After digging through some blogs, it seems this workshop is actually very infamous! There were many many cases with this GS Automobil Enterprise!!! What??? Is there any police in that area? Are they blind? Deaf? or dead? ... or they are some sort of "partners"??? You be the judge.

FYI, GS Automobil Enterprise is located at:
No. 4, Jalan Helang 1,
Taman Industri Ringan Mambau,
70300 Seremban
H/P : 012-264 1993 / 010-244 1701 / 016-9960 396

Alvin made a police report and he went to the Hal Ehwal Pengguna Malaysia to further complain and hope that they will take action towards these bunch of devils.

Subsidies Is Just HALF the Story!

Posted: 21 May 2011 08:19 AM PDT

Desi has heard the Government's rationalisation of having to cut the subsidies element in many utilities to "explain away" the rising costs of living encountered by the people. The Rakyat is being told ONLY HALF THE STORY as far as our nation's rcihest oil resource -- petroleum and its related product, gas -- is concerned.

First, PM Najib Razak uged the people to tighten their belt. His prosperous wife Datin Rosmah Mansor chirps in with similar motherly-sounding appeals, but we all all it's crab -- she's given a budget of RM110million to run a programme named Permata for socalled "young giftted children", and she runs up huge travelling bills representing Malaysia overseas as if she held the Foreign Minister's portfolio. And continuong to justify prestigious sounding programmes selling her First Lady status as if she has special IQ to offer other countries ladies of similar status BUT NOT BRAGGING IT!

This is pulling "wool over the people's eyes" -- and the Deputy Finance Minister Dr Awang is joining in the chorus of government's lamenters, but doing not much to help the suffering Rakyat.

From The Star Online, viz:

Saturday May 21, 2011
Awang: Support move to reduce subsidy

BACHOK: Deputy Finance Minister Senator Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin has urged the people to support the Government in its initiative to reduce mounting subsidy bills, which had shot up from RM10.3bil last year to RM20.58bil this year.

He added that the Government would conduct a detailed study to ensure that any move to review the subsidy would not burden the poor.

Speaking to reporters after meeting residents of Kampung Telong here yesterday, he said the results would be announced once feedback had been received from agencies conducting the study.

He was commenting on fears, especially in the rural areas, of rising costs following the possibility of subsidy revision which includes the subsidy for RON95 petrol.

Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had previously said RM18bil of this year's subsidy was petroleum related compared to RM8bil last year.

"The increase is too steep ... no country would be willing to shoulder such a burden," Awang Adek said. — Bernama

DESIDERATA: Every time PETRONAS -- the company supposedly to hold the nation's resource IN TRUST for the Rakyat -- announced its annual revenues and profits, it has been an uptrending line for the past five years since this Blog started tomonitor the figures. BUT DID/DO THE RAKYAT SEE ANY BENEFITS ACCRUING FROM "OUR" NATION'S RESOURCE?

NO! You know why?

Every time the world oil prices goes up, the BN government keeps harping on the "subsidy" element on the imported oil which we use, then justify a subsidy cut to justify the prices AT THE PUMP BEING RAISED.

Desi has been lamenting every year that the BN government is plainly BULL-SHITTING US justifying the subsidy cut, hence followed by pump price rise.

The OTHER HALF of the story NOT TOLD, but quite lone-voice Desi hear pushing till his voiz goes hoarse -- like the desert sun is hurting me through the skin! -- is that whatever the subsidy element, say x, that is reduced, PETRONAS GETS A REVENUE, and PROFIT INCREASE!, say Y, where Y IS GREATER THAN x.

If fact, Desi stands corrected by recalling that a Reuters report he once read that for every USD1 rise for a barrel of oil, Malaysia stood to gain like USD1billion or is it 2 BILLION USD! ( searched my email and blog archives, could NOT retrieve these numbers -- any one out there who can help me, please put in under COMMENTS, please! Endless rounds of oil -- oops, tehtarik! -- on Desi for the favour.

That's the reality of world oil price increase -- NegaraKu is a NET GAINER, You know WHY?
Because as I keep drumming into the Finance Minister and Deputy Finance Ministers' hardrock heads that MALAYSIA IS A NET PRODUCER AND NET EXPORTER OF PETROLEUM.

Furthermore, our OIL EXPORTS ARE OF A HIGHER GRADE THAN OIL IMPORTS -- hence they call it sweets, not for no reason! -- AND COMMAND A PREMIUM PRICE.

So everything being equal, every time there is a world oil price increase,we should be given a REDUCTION in pump oil price...IF PETRONAS PASSES ON THE HIGHER REVENUES/PROFITS TO BENEFIT THE PEOPLE!

He reiterated the same promise when campaiging at the recent SARAWAK STATE ELECTION.

Anwar knows what he can, or cannot deliver, BECAUSE AS A FORMER DPM and FINANCE MINISTER< HE KNOWS THE REAL SITUATION AT PETRONAS. The current BN government is hiding the real story from the Rakyat!

I will end with a prayer of desperation...

O'Mighty God, How much loner can we tolerate these BN ministerial liars and their wives and their lackeys?
Protect our nation's natural riches, Save us from daylight, and midnight, robbers!

The Institute of Management Development (IMD) 2011 World Competitive Rankings places Malaysia at 16th, six

slots down from its previous 10th position.
This drop in standing comes despite the positive announcements the Performance Management and Delivery Unit (Pemandu) made with regards to Malaysia's track record in combating corruption, improved accountability and transparency.
While Datuk Seri Najib Razak is a household name, few know what he stands for and what to expect of his premiership.

Lim Kit Siang wasted no time in pouncing on Datuk Seri Najib Razak's rebuttal to alleged abuse of power.

The DAP Parliamentary leader today scoffed at the deputy prime minister's defence that the SMS exchange with lawyer Datuk Shafee Abdullah over the Altantuya Shaariibuu murder investigation was "a private matter".from a most unhlikely source, I have been reliably informed…..straight from the Steppes of Inner Mongolia comes this conversation. I was also reliably informed that this was sent to Malaysia Today as a sequel to the letter sent by Altantuya's father. Read on

The following text message correspondence is between YAB Dato' Sri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, Deputy Prime Minister of Malaysia, and Dato' Shafee Abdullah, a Malaysian lawyer who initially represented Abdul Razak Abdullah Baginda who is on trial for abeting the murder of Mongolian national, Altantuya Shaariibuu.

While it does not answer lingering questions about Najib's alleged past relations with Altantuya, the text messages show clearly Najib's active intereference in the case very early on. The messages highlight Najib's willingness to speak with both members of the Attorney General's Chambers and Inspector General of Police about the case, something that suggests an abuse of executive power.

What is particularly revealing and troubling is that the counsel, Shafee, keeps asking Najib for details indicating some political intervention that may have influenced the case. This observation is strengthened by Najib's message to Shafee on 16 November 2006: "Pls do not say anything to the press today. i will explain later. RB will have to face a tentative charge but all is not lost." This message raises a lot of questions about Najib's role in this case. Why did he mention "tentative" charge and that "all is not lost" for RB (Razak Baginda)? How would Najib know this before Razak was charged? Is there already a deal in place that will see Razak aquitted? These are important questions which will have ramifications not just on this case but far beyond.

The text messages were transmitted between Najib's personal mobile phone. Those who seek the truth should challenge Najib and Shafee to deny that this correspondence took place between them. Perhaps a record of the messages still resides in the server of the relevant telecommunications company. In one SMS, Najib allegedly tells the lawyer that Razak — his advisor — "will face a tentative charge but all is not lost".

"He did not deny the exchange took place. What about the case of P. Balasubramaniam? Does he deny that he had contact with the Inspector-General of Police?" Lim said while debating the 2009 Budget.

Balasubramaniam had made a statutory declaration that Abdul Razak received an SMS from Najib stating that the IGP Tan Sri Musa Hassan would "take care" of the Altantuya case.

However, a second SD surfaced in which Balasubramaniam disavowed the first SD, claiming he was made to sign the SD under duress.

Dubbing the finance minister as the "de facto prime minister" in reference to Najib being designated as Prime Minister Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi's successor after Umno party polls in March, the Ipoh Timur MP echoed Opposition Leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's call for Najib to be investigated.

"We do not want just personal belief," he said, referring to Abdullah's defence of Najib in stating that his deputy is a "good person".

"He must be cleared by a Royal Commission Inquiry so that we can be proud to have a 100% clean prime minister. Or otherwise," Lim said.

Lim also told the Dewan Rakyat that the IGP and attorney-general Tan Sri Abdul Gani Patail should resign over abuses of power.

Citing an unnamed source, he claimed that an investigation by solicitor-general Idrus Harun in July had found that the AG had fabricated evidence against Anwar in the "black-eye" incident 10 years ago.

"How can we have a criminal as an AG?" he exclaimed.

Anwar had also filed a police report in July claiming abuse of power by Abdul Gani — then a senior deputy public prosecutor — and Musa's role in the scandal surrounding the former deputy prime minister's black-eye.

The truth is buried somewhere. Those who know what truly happened hope that the truth has been buried deep with Altantuya. But the funny thing is, the truth always finds its way into the hands of those who fight for justice – sometimes in the most mysterious circumstances……

"The prince", in its various meanings, perhaps offers a crude and simplistic insight into Najib's possible behaviour as Prime Minister.
With less than two weeks to go for Umno divisional meetings and no rival nomination as yet to his candidacy as president, Najib looks set to become Malaysia's sixth Prime Minister in March next year.
It has been a long way to the top for the eldest son of Malaysia's second Prime Minister Tun Abdul Razak Hussein.
Najib's career had a head-start because of his prestigious family name, but as the skeletons in the cupboard appear to pile up, Najib faces ever more challenges.
Born in 1953, Najib contested his late father's seat of Pekan when the latter died in office in 1976. He was then slightly below 23 years old and still holds the record as the youngest Malaysian ever to enter Parliament.
Najib held several deputy ministerial appointments between 1978 and 1982. In 1982, at the age of 29, he was made the Menteri Besar of Pahang. He served two stints as Minister of Defence (1990-1995, 1999-2008), and served as Minister of Youth and Sports (1986-1990) and Minister of Education (1995-1999).
A decade ago, Najib was the other candidate in the race to fill the No. 2 post in Umno and government left vacant as a result of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's sacking.
But as Anwar was dismissed on alleged personal improprieties and misuse of power, then Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad selected the unimpressive but religious and squeaky clean Datuk Seri Abdullah Ahmad Badawi as his deputy and later his successor.
Najib almost lost his parliamentary seat in the 1999 general election, winning with a 241-vote majority.READMORE Najib ask yourself are you fit for Job? in Sex you areHero in Ecomomics you are Zero We Malays are of being Impatient

I'd liked to be called Aishwarya" is what we were told by the lovely Aishwarya Rai Bachchansometime ago. Even Abhishek said that his wife prefers being called Aishwarya and not Ash.

Well, we wonder what the lady has to say about this one. Recently, our sources told us that Superstar Rajinikanth sweetly refers to his Robot co-star as Tamila. The story is this: Aishwarya managed to learn Tamil while shooting for Robot, and dubbed her lines with so much ease that Rajini was mighty impressed. And she was honoured with the new name: Tamila. Well, considering that the Bachchan bahu doesn't want the media to call her Ash, the next time around we'd like to try this one. And of course, when Rajini says you are Tamila, you have to be Tamila. Mind it!
Rajini's 'Rana' to resume after a weekThe release said soon after the AIADMK swept the April 13 polls, Mr Rajinikanth had sent a letter to Ms Jayalalithaa congratulating her on AIADMK party's massive victory in the elections. Ms Jayalalitha reciprocated the gesture by sending a reply letter to the actor thanking him for greeting her and wishing him speedy recovery.
The actor's family and the doctors told the media yesterday that Rajinikanth's condition was stable and appealed to the fans not to give credence to rumours about his health. The actor was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) on May 18 night for improving his breathing pattern. Hospital sources had said he was getting appropriate treatment and his condition was stable. He was earlier admitted to St Isabel's Hospital in the city immediately after the Mahurat of his new film "Rana" on April 29 for suspected food poisoning and discharged the same evening. A few days later, he was again admitted to the hospital for viral fever.

He was discharged after a few days, only to be admitted at SRMC on May 13. Concerned over Rajini's health conditiion, scores of his fans have been offering special worship in temples across the state, praying for his speedy recovery.

Meanwhile, hospital sources told UNI that the actor's condition was improving."It's better than yesterday", the sources said, adding his vital parameters were normal. Special prayers and poojas were also offered at the Raghavendra and Sai Baba temples in the city.

Fans also pulled a silver chariot. His fans also offered prayers at a church in southern Kanniyakumari district, reports received here said.

The shooting of superstar Rajinikanth's 'Rana' was launched at a glittering function last Friday.  Unfortunately, Rajini fell ill on the same afternoon and had to be hospitalized.  Though he has been discharged from the Hospital, sources close to him say that he has been advised 'some' rest and won't start shooting till next Friday.

After the muhurat, Rajini and Deepika Padukone shot for a duet sequence for some time when Rajini complained of stomach-ache and then vomited incessantly.  He was then rushed to the Isabel Hospital in Mylapore where he was treated for 'indigestion'.Dr. Krishnamurthy of Isabel Hospital said that Rajini was feeling fine after the treatment and added that his blood pressure, pulse and breathing were just perfect.  After advising him to rest completely for a few days, the doctors discharged him from the hospital.

The hospitalization of Rajini, seen as a very healthy individual, sent anxious wavesamong his fans and well-wishers who thronged the Hospital.  They dispersed from the Hospital only after Rajini was discharged.  Ravikumar, the director, said that Rajini must have felt exhausted as he had been involved in the script-making of the film for the past many days and invited many VIPs over phone for the launch which made him keep awake around midnight the previous day.

When belts cannot be tightened anymore!

Posted: 20 May 2011 10:04 PM PDT

I chatted with an old patient of mine after a consultation yesterday. He was probably suffering from a side effect of stress and not enough rest. I enquired about his job and he told me that he is working 2 jobs now, a daytime office job and part time taxi driving at night. He had to do this to make ends meet.

So i told him what any doctor would tell his patient under these circumstances– to rest more.

Then he started to pour his woes to me that he has already been tightening his belt so much over the past few years, that he dreads to think of ways to tighten it some more, since living cost is creeping up and food prices are going to shoot up. He told me that there would come a point that the belt cannot be tightened anymore, and that point is fast being reached.

With so much news on the need to cut subsidies in the newspaper ( it was even equated to opium), the government is in fact building up a case of cutting subsidies further. It is just a matter of time that subsidies on petrol will be cut further. When that happens, petrol pump prices as well as electricity tariff will go up.

I have mentioned before that subsidies are actually bad to economy in the long run. It will also create a subsidy mentality among the people. But removing subsidies in a stagnant economy will result in a lot of problems for the poor. Subsidy removal must be done very gradually, and that too, should be done when economy is expanding and real income rising.

I can't help but recall a round table conference which I had attended  in Feb 2010 on subsidy and the economy. In fact, I have blogged on this conference a day after.

I will paraphrase what i wrote then:

I attended a round table talk on subsidy yesterday. Although most speakers spoke about the need to do away with the cost of living subsidy, like the subsidy for sugar, petrol and so on, what a young man said about being cynical impressed me most.

This young man began by saying that even though all the speakers spoke about the need to do away with subsidy, he was against the idea because being a cynical person, he doubted whether the money saved from abolishing the subsidy (direct and indirect subsidy comes to about 80 billionRM a year), will go to development and helping the poor. He said that being cynical, he thinks that this huge amount of money will go to someone else's pockets and if so, why should he give up his right to subsidy?

His reason is based on one point only, and that is the whole system is rotten. I thought about it and I think he has a very valid point.

With the rotten system and everyone out to make a fast buck, whatever mechanism of doing away with the subsidy and using the amount saved to channel to development and helping the poor would just not work . Remember that time when the pump price of petrol went up to 2.70 from 1.92? The government promised to use the savings to channel into public transport and make it more efficient. Did we see any money going into the intended sector? A big No of course.

I can't help but think that if the money saved from abolishing subsidy (the 80 billions) goes into private pockets and results in a few more PKFZ, even though I am all for abolishing subsidy gradually ( with safety nets in place such as cash coupons and cash cards to be given to the poor) , I would want to change my mind and go along with the thinking of this young man.

After all, if you have lived in Malaysia for the past 20 years, you can't help but become cynical.

This young man raised  a very valid point.

We should start to withdraw subsidies slowly AFTER we ensure that the leakages and wastages are plugged first. After all the amount that has been siphoned out of the system is quite high, if we go by the reports of foreign media and investment reports.

The government must have the will to tackle corruption and cronyism, not just paying lip services, and expect people to tight belts which cannot be tightened anymore.

If subsidy withdrawal results in people unable to make ends meet, then expect social problems and crime rate to go up. If we do not clean up corruption first, expect corruption to go even more  rampant and severe, since civil servants too will be hard hit by subsidy removal and they, being in a position to dictate things, will not doubt be tempted to find other sources of income under the table.

From 2004 till now, we have wasted 7 years to tackle corruption, which is perceived to be even worse now. We do not have another 7 years, given the conditions of world economy and the middle income trap that we find ourselves in.

But do we have the will?

Karunanidhi, who tried his best to shield Kanimozhi, broke down after hearing the news of the arrest of his favourite daughter in 2G scam.

Terming Kanimozhi the "active brain" behind operations of Kalaignar TV, the CBI's supplementary chargesheet also makes indirect reference to the Niira Radia tapes.

The CBI referred to "strong association" of Kanimozhi with A Raja in "official/political matters". The agency claimed that Kanimozhi "actively pursued with the intermediaries and DMKheadquarters the matter regarding reappointment of accused A Raja as minister of communications and information technology in 2009, which clearly establishes the strong association of accused Ms Kanimozhi Karunanidhi and accused A Raja in the official/political matters".

Several conversations in the Radia tapes show how Kanimozhi was actively involved in getting Raja appointed as telecom minister. Radia is already listed as a witness in the CBI chargesheet in the 2G scam case.

The supplementary chargesheet backed the statement of Aseervatham Achary, a former additional private secretary of Raja, who had claimed, "A Raja was interested in the follow-up work for getting clearance to Kalaignar TV from ministry of information and technology. She had frequent visits to camp office of A Raja and A Raja also used to visit her residence at South Avenue frequently. She is also very close to A Raja in regard to political work of DMK. They used to talk over phone frequently."

Achary had said that "A Raja also tried to get Kalaignar TV on Tata Sky platform for which he was taking the help of Niira Radia".

In its chargesheet on Monday, CBI said, "Accused Kanimozhi was initial director of the company (Kalaignar) and resigned only for the reason that her clearance from MHA was pending and could take time and delay in the matter of launching Kalaignar TV." The chargesheet narrated the role of A Raja in getting Kalaignar TV registered and also trying to get it in the Tata Sky bouquet from June 2007 onwards.

It then focuses on the supporting role played by Kanimozhi saying she had been in regular touch with A Raja regarding launching of Kalaignar TV. Officials said they had scrutinized the Radia tapes which indicated that Kanimozhi was interested in retaining Raja as Union telecom minister and this formed one of the main grounds for her being named in the chargesheet.

"She actively pursued with intermediaries and DMK headquarters the matter regarding reappointment of accused A Raja as minister of communications and information technology in 2009″ which as per the CBI clearly establishes the s

At 2.30pm when the news broke, no one could have been more devastated than former chief minister M Karunanidhi. As the news flashed on TV channels that Kanimozhi will be arrested and sent to Tihar Jail, the DMK patriarch broke down, sobbing. Kanimozhi is his favourite daughter and he had once tried hard to ensure she didn't enter politics. Today, as he grabbed the import of the development, Karunanidhi couldn't control his emotions.

"If you have a daughter and if she is punished for no mistake, how will you feel? That's the way I feel," he told reporters, a tinge of sadness evident on his face. When reporters sought his view on the court order, Karunanidhi said tersely, "It is the court's decision. I can't give my views on that."

Earlier in the day, about 11.30am after the court adjourned proceedings, Karunanidhi, who was at his Gopalapuram residence, rushed to his CIT Colony bungalow where his daughter lives. Soon, senior leaders, including his younger son MK Stalin, trooped in, looking sombre. The court decision has come as a major blow for Karunanidhi and his DMK, just recovering from a major debacle in the assembly polls.

Anxiously awaiting news from the court, Karunanidhi even skipped his usual meagre lunch of sambar rice and curd. Later, he was too upset to swallow even a morsel. "He was very upset. When he got the news, he just burst into tears. We have never seen 'thalaivar' breaking down. He refused to speak to anyone for a while. Then, 'thalapathi' (as M K Stalin is referred to by partymen) and some other seniors tried to console him," a senior DMK leader told TOI.READMORE

Sarah Palin, Anwar Ibrahim and the Politics of Alinsky

Text from the my original, with added links:

Sarah Palin, Anwar Ibrahim and the Politics of Alinsky

Ordinary Malaysians are getting fed up of neverending sex allegations against Anwar Ibrahim. This strikes a chord with me – it reminds me of a parallel situation that has been unfolding in the USA over the past three years.

The Big Government article 'MSM Uses Palin's Own Children as Political Weapons Against Her' describes how the liberal-dominated mainstream media in America constantly shines a sickly spotlight on Sarah Palin.

The MSM parades, mocks and lambasts every minute detail that is even remotely connected to Palin, including the personal lives of her children.

The reason for this constant noise, according to the article, is that U.S. Democrats and their allies fear the impact she has on the political scene – even as they belittle her as wholly inconsequential and not worth a second thought.

After all, Palin turned Obama's 2008 impending landslide against McCain into a mere majority of votes.

Until Palin, 45, burst onto the scene, Obama was headed for a Nixon/McGovern landslide. Palin may not have changed the election result, but she killed what otherwise would have been a rout… The biggest red flag proving her popularity with normal Americans is that liberals won't shut up about her. - The 2009 TIME 100, Heroes & Icons: Sarah Palin, TIME Magazine 30 April 2009

She has made Senators, Congresspersons and Governors out of underdogs by endorsing them in the 2010 U.S. elections.

Sarah Palin seems to have the magic touch when it comes to her endorsements. According to the NYT her record so far is 24-5 which is an amazing achievement… Her endorsement alone seems enough to get people to take a second look at candidates and reconsider their votes. So she's building up a lot of good will and political IOUs – all of which would be very helpful for a 2012 run. - Sarah Palin – Political Kingmaker, Ace of Spades HQ, 30 July 2010

With just a Facebook posting criticizing Obama's policies, she has gotten the U.S. President and Robert Gibbs leaping to respond – on national TV, no less.

His voice dripping with exasperation, the White House press secretary, Robert Gibbs, said to me one July afternoon in his office: "If I would have told you that I could open up a Facebook account or a Twitter account, simply post quotes, and have the White House asked about those, and to have the entire White House press corps focused on your quote of the day on Facebook — that's Sarah Palin. She tweets one thing, and all of a sudden you've got a room full of people that want to know…" The New York Times, 17 Nov 2010

If you thought the exact opposite of Sarah Palin, then Congratulations! You've been dutifully following the MSM. According to them, Palin is just a retro-hairstyled bimbo who sees Russia from her house and thinks North and South Korea are the same. (Recently, some our own local MSM pundits have not been innocent of this either – you know who you are.)

And then there is Sarah Palin, McCain's running mate in 2008. Besides her retro hairdo and family issues, her main claim to stardom has been her self-proclaimed experience in foreign policy for supposedly being able to see Russia from her Alaskan backyard.

Unfortunately, the Korean peninsula seemed just a little out of reach. She could not tell the difference between North and South Korea.

She was roundly credited for helping candidate Barack Obama win the presidency. In hoping to run for the presidency herself, the Republican Party's stab at the presidency could self-destruct upon her nomination.

- Only re-election on Obama's mind now by BUNN NAGARA, The Star 15 May 2011

Surround her with as much triviality as possible, and the American public will grow sick of even the mention of her name. They will think of her only as a joke. "Sarah Palin? That airhead? You can't be serious!" Soon even the world's public ends up laughing about her.

This strikes me as exactly what is being done to Anwar Ibrahim.

There are those who fear Anwar's impact as an inspiration and figurehead of Pakatan Rakyat – if not the de facto leader – even as they portray him as a sidelined, has-been, depraved lackey of America and Israel.

Surround him with as much tawdry drama as possible, and the Malaysian public will grow sick of even the mention of his name. They will equate him only with dirty jokes. "Anwar Ibrahim? Maybe he can still win the next election if he suddenly comes from behind, ha ha ha!" Soon even the world's public ends up laughing about him.

Just try this experiment out: Ask the next armchair pundit you meet if they know what Anwar Ibrahim's economic, social and governance recommendations for the country are. The sex allegations have so permeated the atmosphere around Anwar that they have crowded out any serious discussion about him as a real political leader.

That is why sex videos featuring men who look nothing like Anwar are being bandied about. Who cares if no one is convinced it is really him caught on tape, as long as they keep talking about it and nothing else! Tomorrow another 'whistleblowing insider' could even release a sex tape featuring only women, and still claim it features Anwar Ibrahim!

The late community organizer Saul Alinsky is a major influence on Barack Obama's philosophy. In Saul Alinsky's book Rules For Radicals, Rule 12 describes how to delegitimize an opponent: Pick the target, freeze it, personalize it, and polarize it. Cut off the support network and isolate the target from sympathy. Go after people and not institutions; people hurt faster than institutions. (This is cruel, but very effective. Direct, personalized criticism and ridicule works.)

[[Note: I left out the last line originally.]]

You tell me if this does not describe exactly what is being done to Anwar Ibrahim now.

Malaysia has truly 'matured' politically if we are using underhanded tactics on par with the experienced Americans. Sadly, this is not something to be proud of.

Two of Malaysia's most outspoken Malay leaders found themselves in the doghouse after careless and insensitive speech against the other races in the country.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nazri Aziz for underestimating the intelligence of the people by hiding behing "free speech" to avoid taking action against the other garrulous but pro-establishment leader Ibrahim Ali.
As for Ibrahim, an ultra-Malay rights rabble-rouser, he tried to douse the fire lit by his controversial call for a crusade against Christians in the country by insisting that he used the word jihad (or holy battle) for "shock" effect.
But his clumsy and half-hearted efforts to retract part of his extreme speech made last Saturday failed to appease, drawing even greater contempt from his non-Muslim peers.
"We are happy to note that Ibrahim Ali does not intend to kill the Christians in the country, but when did the Christians demean Islam. Only Utusan and the Umno bloggers said such a thing. For the record, DAP and the Christian leaders had already completely denied the report, yet Ibrahim Ali still used it to curry favor with the crowd even though it can incite hatred and spark riots," Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming told Malaysia Chronicle.
In his statement issued late on Thursday night, Ibrahim had sought a way out of the predicament he brought on himself and his self-styled ultra Malay-rights group Perkasa.
"Jihad does not only mean perang salib or crusade, it does not mean the killing of Christians and Muslims, but it includes acts of prevention using one's hands, mouth, writing and other means," said Ibrahim.
"Everyone lost their cool but they don't realise what they do sometimes also demean Islam, and when this happens no one is reprimanded."
There was no apology at all.
'Be careful what Nazri is actually saying'
Meawhile, as expected, Nazri has stood by his much criticised decision not to prosecute Ibrahim, citing freedom of speech as his rationale.
"But it has been days since he made the statement and yet, we do not see any riot on the streets. People are no longer as sensitive as they were before. Now, people just laugh at Ibrahim and call him a clown. So you cannot even say that Ibrahim's words have caused the Malays to rise against the Christians," Malaysian Insider reported Nazri as saying.
Nazri also pledged the same liberty for other Malaysians in similar situations in the future.
But his words and new-found affinity for new politics convinced no one or comforted anybody.
"Nzari and Umno are trying to take advantage of peaceful nature of the non-Malays who will think twice about any physical action because they are outnumbered. In this case, it is Ibrahim, a Malay, saying bad things about Christians. Of course, the Malays and the Muslims won't riot against him. The Christians also won't – their protest comes in the verbal form through letters, their leaders, in the social media and so forth. Just because Christians don't take to arms does not mean they don't feel as strongly as if they marched 10km and screamed and shouted," PKR vice president Tian Chua told Malaysia Chronicle.
"Conversely, if a non-Malay and non-Muslim said bad things about the Malays and the Muslims, some of the Malays especially the Perkasa types will surely go haywire or pretend to go haywire to stir things up. They will protest and demonstarte. Will Nazri then turn around and say, this is different. It is different because the words of the non-Malay actually caused a physical reaction and that is jailable under the Sedition Act or the ISA. We have to be very careful because we are now dealing with Umno elite who twist and turn everything. They cannot be trusted at all."
As for Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, he opposes using draconian laws to charge Ibrahim Ali but insists that Ibrahim can and should be punished under laws other than the Sedition Act and the Internal Security Act, which allows for detention without trial for indefinite periods of time.
"I do not condone the use of these laws even as a temporary measure.  But should a civilised country, after half a century of independence, condone these sorts of sentiments?" Malaysiakini reported Anwar as saying.
"There are (other) laws to investigate Ibrahim, but how do investigate when you know it is being promoted and supported by the ruling establishment?"
At a rally last Saturday, Ibrahim had attacked the Christian community, which forms 10 per cent of Malaysia's 28 million population versus the Muslims' 60 per cent.
Based on an unsustantianted news article in the Umno-owned Utusan daily that Christians wanted Christianity to replace Islam as the country's official religion, Ibrahim had threatened bloodshed against them.
"If they want a crusade, so be it. If they say that the peace that we enjoy is not good enough we shall take up the challenge. Don't take the silence of Muslims as a sign of fear," Ibrahim had boomed in his controversial speech.
"Before our followers fall in this battle, Perkasa leaders will first lay down their lives and die sprawling in blood.
Dear President Barack Obama,
Along with many American Muslims, my family and I listened to your speech today on the Middle East and North Africa. While I appreciate your encouraging statements to the people of the Muslim world — particularly to those who are currently fighting for dignity and civil rights in their own lands — I also couldn't help feeling that many Americans are not setting the example of which you spoke when it comes to our own Muslim citizens.
Currently, 20 states have introduced anti-Muslim legislation, with more pending. Some of our country's lawmakers and politicians have made very bigoted inflammatory commentsabout Muslims and Islam. Very recently, Tennessee, under extreme pressure, rewrote a bill that would have made it a crime punishable by 15 years in prison for Muslims to worship together in groups of two or more. Organized groups are staging hate rallies against Muslims building houses of worship around the country. Local municipalities are playing the zoning game by zoning Islamic schools and mosques out of the community. Mosque playgrounds are being torched. Muslim family homesproperty, and mosques are being vandalized. Children are being bullied and harassed because they are Muslim. Shockingly, last week the Editor of the Gainesville Times in Florida published a letter that called for the expulsion of all Muslims from America. Recently, several Muslim clerics, and also a young Muslim woman were pulled off airplanes for no other reason other than they were dressed in recognizable Muslim attire. This is all being seen through the modern technology's "window into the wider world" that you mentioned in your speech, but like all windows, you can also look from the world outside and see what's happening inside. What does it say to the world when our President speaks about rights for people in the Muslim world that "include free speech; the freedom of peaceful assembly; freedom of religion" when our own people are being hindered from building mosques, and schools, and our right to worship freely is even being threatened?
Mr. President, Muslims in America know that you do not stand with this kind of bigotry and hatred. During your announcement of the killing of Osama bin Laden you said,

What the ****!

Minta maaf ya. But you all must really stop eating altogether la. Ok? Anyway, it's bad for you and you will save money.

There has been a lot of speculation about the prices of RON95 petrol and diesel going up because the government intends to cut subsidies for fuel. I am not pissed off about all the proposed cuts of subsidies. What I am pissed off about is that we NEVER ever see the money that we are supposed to be saving from all these cuts!!! We're always told by the PM, DPM and other assorted BN YB's that the money saved from cutting subsidies will be used for all sorts of projects that will benefit the Rakyat in the long run. But do we see these? Maybe my eyesight not so good la. You leh? Got see ah? If got please share with us okay? So we don't have to enter the weekend so TOO LAN leh?  Thank you hor.

p/s And like DAP's Tony Pua said the "overwhelming bulk of fuel-related subsidies (are) given to companies with lucrative concessions earning billions of Ringgit in profits annually". So explain that first before asking the Rakyat to 'change their lifestyle and tighten their belts" Muhyiddin Yassin!!! AGAIN!!!

Chinese Babe For Camwhore And Big Boob Lovers the perfect first SEX experience is often sprinkled with moments of coy reservation!

Damn, this chick is one of those stealth hottie you would never notice on the street because all you see is a plain Jane geeky girl. But take away the glasses, drop her hair down and lose a few lawyers of clothes and suddenly she is going supernova. She is very hot… She is pretty and her boobs are ridiculously huge (and totally natural) however it is difficult to notice it in most of the photos. She is a teaser so while she leave her pussy in full view she opted to cover her boobs with one hand as she use the other hand to snap pics… I hate when a camwhore is shy with he best assets. But you got to love skinny Asian chicks with big boobs.A little anxiety coupled with moments of anticipation and finally some wild thoughts, the perfect first nightexperience is often sprinkled with moments of coy reservation!

Most couples nurse nervous speculations and deep seated performance anxiety about their first night of closeness. Hearsay from newly wed friends or common beliefs picked up from random sources add to the sexual tension. Knowing the exact way to get it right is an arduous task and if gone wrong, you may end up facing a catastrophic situation in your bedroom with your first nuptial boo-boos.

We spoke to some couples to know the common blunders they made (inadvertently) on their first night. Of course, it wasn't just about 'sex' on the first night, as there were numerous other problems which could ruin the first night craze…

Boo-boo: A moment in haste and its all waste
Without much knowledge about sex, couples encountered awkward situations like premature ejaculation for men or women getting overtly apprehensive about vaginal pain and hymen bleeding. Fear is the biggest factor affecting performance on the first night.

Top Tip: Make the act more pleasurable
No person is a master sex performer, so indulge in a prolonged foreplay session to make your first night a tender bonding experience. Even if things go wrong, stay calm and try again after some time. Sometimes the wedding stress and the discomfort of an all new environment takes a mental toll. The body and mind may not be fully open for the experience of sexual discovery. Being patient is key.

Boo-boo: Experiments can wait
Agreed that it's your first time with your partner, but don't get overtly excited. Couples are all geared up to try new acts in bed, but first try and figure out your partner's comfort quotient.

Top Tip: Every night is a first night
Don't think that the first night is your 'one and only' chance to make love passionately, with time your bond will grow even more special with your better half. The first night is just the beginning of pleasures. Don't fret and waste it in performance anxiety!

Boo-boo: Look sexy in tradition
It's believed that a bride must remain in her wedding outfit and let the husband come and lift up the veil ('ghoongat'). But modern day brides aren't too interested in donning the ostentatious outfit for too long and the minute they enter the bedroom; they prefer to undress into a sexy lingerie/night gown. Now, no matter how sensuous your night gown maybe, it doesn't have the same charm as a wedding ensemble. This fashion faux pas forms a lesser known, but common goof-up for brides.

Top Tip: Gifts Galore
As the husband lifts up the veil of the bride's wedding outfit, she's entitled to a surprise gift (for 'mooh dikhayee'). Rings, pendants, necklaces are passé; think of something out-of-the-blue, maybe a romantic honeymoon package, which she would be least expecting or a glamorous outfit, a transparent, hot dress, which you'd like her to get clad in just for your eyes.

PKR Youth defers Utusan protest to avoid clash

Posted: 20 May 2011 08:26 AM PDT

PKR Youth delayed its schedule protest today against Malay language daily Utusan Malaysia to avoid a brawl with Malay right groups Perkasa and Umno. The movement's deputy information chief Rozan Azen Mat Rasip (left) told Malaysiakini when contacted that the party had arranged to protest against the daily first, but when the intention was made public their foes announced for a counter demonstration-in-support on the same day.
