Bulletproof vests in a mosque?

Posted: 11 May 2011 09:51 AM PDT

A bulletproof vests in a mosque? Why? In our history, nobody have ever been shot in a Malaysian mosque. This is not India, neither we are in Pakistan or Palestine. What are you trying to proof, anyway?

But the "Datuk T" trio who attended a 'sumpah laknat' ceremony at a mosque, did it for no reason. According to a retired senior cop Datuk Mat Zain Ibrahim by doing that, they had defiled the mosque.

The former city criminal investigation chief said Wednesday "Datuk T" created the perception that the situation in the Masjid Amru Al-As, Sentul was unsafe.

"It was as if they would be hurt or shot in a mosque. In fact, they should know that even the Malay Rulers do not wear bulletproof vests when they enter any mosque in the country.

"This act has defiled the holiness of the mosque and insulted Islam," he said in a letter sent to editors today.

He said the trio — businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah, former Malacca Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik and Perkasa treasurer-general Datuk Shuib Lazim — had run afoul of Section 295 of the Penal Code.

"As with the offence of screening the obscene video under Section 292, this is also an open-and-shut case. In my opinion, they have no defence," Mat Zain wrote.

Section 295 states that 'whoever defiles any place of worship, with the knowledge that any class of persons is likely to consider such defilement as an insult to their religion' will be jailed for up to two years and/or fined.

So many craps and a lot of nonsense are taking place in the country. Sooner or later, someone may drive a Hummer straight into a mosque...

IN SEARCH OF A GOOD NURSING HOME

Posted: 11 May 2011 08:52 AM PDT

Eldercare Nursing Home, Taman Seputeh
One thing I've learned from my online search for a good nursing home is that there's a world of difference between what you see on the website, and what greets your eyes when you visit the homes.

Over the past couple of weeks, my young friend Perrin Rodrigues and I have been on a quest to find a suitable nursing home - she for her 87-year old granny, and me for my 85-year old mother. Both women recently underwent hip surgery after a fall at home. Perrin and I have been exchanging notes on the homes we have visited and striking them off our list one by one. It's easier to find an oasis in a desert than finding a home that meets our standards.

Most homes, or at least the ones we have checked out so far are in appalling condition. They are little more than rundown bungalows in desperate need of repair and a fresh coat of paint. The garden, if there is one, could do with some TLC, like the residents inside. A whiff of urine and stale food assaults your nostrils as you cross the threshold into the living room or lobby. The WELCOME mat has seen better days. As someone so aptly put it, "I wouldn't even want to put my dog there!" I couldn't agree with him more.

Inside you are greeted with an equally depressing sight of elderly folks shuffling aimlessly about, or sitting around looking blankly at the TV screen. The bedridden ones lie there with their faces to the wall or just staring at the ceiling. I am sure the days pass painfully slowly for most of these aged residents. There is nothing to look forward to each day except meals and, if they are lucky, a rare visit from a family member.

First impressions count, and it begins with a bright welcoming smile.
Fortunately, there are a few homes that have won us over. Currently top on my list is Eldercare Nursing Home in Taman Seputeh. It's clean, airy, spacious, bright and well-maintained like a home should be. The staff appear friendly and caring, and the residents seem quite content.

It was lunch time when I dropped in last Saturday with some friends. The food looked inviting enough. We had a peek into the bedrooms and bathrooms, and were pleased at what we saw.

All rooms have queen-sized beds, with comfortable mattresses and clean sheets. Hospital-type beds are available on request.

Residents have a choice of single rooms or 2-3 beds in a room. Each room comes with a flat-screen TV (with Astro), and an attached bathroom. Monthly charges start at Rm1850, with an extra Rm300 for diapers if needed. Apparently, there are no vacancies at the moment, and there's a long waiting list. For more details, visit the website at http://www.eldercare.com.my/

The spacious lobby with a mini-fountain and an ornate staircase leading to the upper floors.
That same afternoon, we were invited to check out the newly-opened second Eldercare Home further up the road off Jalan Klang Lama. We were impressed by what we saw. A guided tour and a chat later with Brian who runs both homes with his wife Sonia left us with no doubt that this couple is driven by a passion to raise the standard of residential nursing care in the country, with Eldercare leading the way.

One of the air-conditioned rooms at Eldercare Villa.

Brian has years of experience running a nursing home in the UK, and wife Sonia is a UK-trained nurse. The couple looks set to change the face of nursing homes in Malaysia.
At Rm2200 a month for a shared room, and Rm3200 for a single room, Eldercare Villa is definitely for those want the best and can afford the best.

The landscaped garden at My Manor.
If that's not upmarket enough for you, try My Manor. At Rm5000 a month, it must be the most expensive nursing home in the country. I visited it two years ago. The charges would probably have gone up by now. The website is currently under construction. If you are interested in checking it out, the address is 27, Jalan Taman 7/6, Petaling Jaya. Contact Janet at +603 7954 8421 or  +6016 233 8421, or email her at janmm27@gmail.com

Bellevue Residential Homecare is just round the corner from EPF, Jalan Gasing.
If you prefer something more affordable, you might want to consider Bellevue Residential Homecare in Section 5, Petaling Jaya. Medical Director of the home is Dr Teh Ban Hup. When I called up this afternoon for directions, Nursing Sister Lee Mee Ngor told me to look out for "the tallest building along that road. It's pink, with a black gate that's always open". I liked that visitors were always welcomed. Sister Lee gave me a quick tour of the place. My verdict? Well, it's on my KIV list if that means anything. You can check out the facilities and services on their website. Monthly charges are Rm1500 and above.

And so my quest for a good nursing home continues...

Najib yang Tentukan Kandungan Utusan Malaysia

Posted: 11 May 2011 08:00 AM PDT

2.0 Liwat Saiful

3.0 Video Blue Rahim Thamby Chik

Tulang Besi

Editorial agenda set by Umno

The swing in Utusan Malaysia's stance came shortly after the 2008 election when Khalid was replaced by Aziz Ishak. According to Hata, the latter does not question the editorial directives set by the Umno political bureau which reportedly sits every Monday night to discuss the paper's agenda for the week.

Those present are the president Najib Tun Razak, deputy president Muhyiddin Yassin, the three vice-presidents – Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Hishamuddin Hussein and Safie Apdal – secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor and information chief Ahmad Maslan.

The agenda is then communicated to Utusan Malaysia's editor-in-chief via the prime minister's office. The paper will run an issue for three days before dropping it completely unless it receives strong public support from top BN ministers.

MAHATIR’S MALAY EXTREMIST’S ARMY AND HINDU EXTREMIST SHIV SENA- SHIVA’S ARMY

Posted: 11 May 2011 04:13 AM PDT

Gujarat cop Sanjeev Bhatt's revelations, contained in his affidavit filed before the Supreme Court, may come as a surprise to many. But for all those who lived in Gujarat during those fateful days and were in the thick of things, the contents only provide substantiation of what they had heard then. A top police officer of the state told me a couple of days after the riots started how director general of poice K Chakravarthy was uncomfortable on being told by Narendra Modi at a meeting to allow Hindus to vent their feelings.Though perturbed, Chakravarthy, a naturally timid person, could not muster the guts to stand up to his boss. So, instead he lamented to top police officers like the person to whom I had spoken. Or at least that is what the officer told me.It was also being speculated that not only had "Hindus" been allowed to vent their feelings, they had been given "three days" to do this. Then defence minister George Fernandes who had been sent to Ahmedabad by Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee also knew of this "three days" and I personally can vouch for this. With a view to figure out what he was up to, I had called on Fernandes on Saturday, March 2, 2002, in Circuit House in Ahmedabad. Initially, I had some apprehension about how much time the minister would give me because he was on a mission and the riots were on full blast. But I was pleasantly surprised that he had all the time in the world for me. Very soon I could figure out the purpose Fernandes was so keen to engage me in conversation: he wanted to cross-check the facts of the riots that he had heard. It was a long three-hour meeting. At one point the chief secretary, G Subba Rao, and additional chief secretary Ashok Narain, along with a senior army officer, came into the room. They had been confabulating with the minister before I dropped in. Leaving them behind, Fernandes took me to his room. Now the officials wanted to know if they should wait or could leave. The minister asked them to leave and resumed his conversation with me. Fernandes spoke about a whole lot of things, how Ahmedabad had changed, how he had come to the city when there was a massive riot in 1969, how he had walked to the Governor Shriman Narayan's house from the airport at that time, etc. With the evening advancing and the need for me to go back to the office, I excused myself. Fernandes persisted but I went out. As I climbed down the stairs, the defence minister beckoned me once again from the top of the stairs and said that I should have dinner with him. In the end, I retraced my path. While having an early dinner, Fernandes who was beating around the bush for so long suddenly let it out: " I have heard that the rioters have been allowed three days time before any action is taken?" I shot back: " Ya, I have also heard it." The minister said: "Humm. I see." We continued on the dinner silently. I must admit that there was no talk about the Modi meet about which Sanjiv Bhatt has now filed an affidavit. But very soon our meeting was broken. Harin Pathak, the minister of state for defence and the BJP MP from Ahmedabad and a hardliner himself, walked into the room with decisive steps and plonked himself on the sofa. In the manner that he walked in it seemed that Pathak was aware that we were having a long meeting and wanted to be privy to the conversation. Immediately after the dinner, I left the place.A couple of months later, the Outook magazine ran an exclusive report on a serving minister of the Gujarat government having deposed before a citizens' commission about the Modi meeting on the evening of January 27 where the chief minister had talked about allowing the Hindu reaction. The minister was not named but I instinctively knew that it was Haren Pandya. So I called Pandya and said: "So you tendered evidence before the commission?" Pandya demanded: "How do you know?" I said: "I can make out because you have told me this before. Though I am not sure about others because there is some speculation that it is Suresh Mehta ( another minister). But I am sure your boss Modi can make out too." The minister said in a dismissive tone: "Who cares about him." Then I told Pandya: "But your testimony is second hand. Why don't you get me somebody who attended the meeting and confirm this to me?" Pandya thought for a moment and replied: "Chakravarthi (director general of police ) can." I told him: "I don't know him. But since you were close to him and once were his boss as home minister, why don't you set up a meeting." Pandya said: "Let me get back to you." He was back on the line in 10 minutes. "I have spoken with him. Here is his cell number. You have to ask him the questions but he will answer only in yes or no. He is not willing to go any further." OK, I said and kept down the phone. In the event I did not call up Chakravarthi. The reason: I had written an article for the edit page about the guilty men of Gujarat and had named Chakravarthi and this was going to appear in the paper the next day. I did not think it morally right to get information from a source one day and next day publish an article that would put him on the mat. Moreover, the prospect on a yes or no answer did not appeal to me.
A few months later when I came to know of the names of officers who were present at that fateful meeting, I asked one of them about what had transpired. The officer, Anil Mukim, then private secretary to Modi and now a joint secretary to GOI told me: "Not while I was there." My specific query was: "Did Modi say that a Hindu reaction be allowed?". I noted from media reports recently that this is also exactly what Mukim told the SIT on the Gujarat riots. If I recollect correctly Ashok Narayan, the additional chief secretary (home) who had attended the meeting told the Nanavati Commission that there were instructions that the bodies of all those perished in the Godhra train carnage be allowed to be brought to Ahmedabad. This is what Sanjiv Bhatt has also said as part of his affadavit about what had transpired at the meeting.Incidentally, it seems that on the evening of February 27 there were two meetings that had been convened by Modi. The first one was a law and order meeting with top cops and secretaries, which Sanjiv Bhatt is supposed to have attended. The other was a meeting of ministers. Haren Pandya had told me that at this meeting some of the ministers said that the bodies of those who died in the Godhra carnage be brought to Ahmedabad. Haren said that he resisted because he felt that this could lead to an outpouring of sentiments leading to a serious law and order situation. Pandya said that he was outshouted at the meeting and mentioned a minister (I am withholding the name, but it was not Modi) who said that this is what we want. "Our party strength is in Ahmedabad. We want everything to happen here. It will help our party."Haren Pandya was murdered under mysterious circumstances in early 2003, so he cannot come back to life to testify whatever is attributed to him by me. I am acutely aware of this. I am also aware that George Fernandes is suffering from Alzhiemer's, a disease that robs its patients of all his memories.
Teresa Kok says the latest development proves Barisan Nasional's tacit support for Perkasa's brazen racism.

The Rela subgroup for Perkasa members is alarming, dangerous and unaccetable, said DAP MP Teresa Kok today.
She added that the latest development proved Barisan Nasional's tacit support for Perkasa's "brazen racism".
Kok was referring to Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein's approval of the establishment of a subgroup within the Rela volunteer corps called "Briged Setia Negara" which is exclusive to Perkasa members.
To add salt to the wound, she said, Hishammuddin was even helping Perkasa build its capacity by providing its members with Rela para-military training, uniforms, and presumably other entitlements such as allowance and personal accident insurance.
"All of which are funded by Malaysian taxpayers of all races," she added.
Kok said the minister was turning a blind eye to the fact that Perkasa was a self-proclaimed Malay supremacist group and that Perkasa's position was completely antithetical to the government's 1Malaysia.
"Since its inception, Perkasa has issued numerous hot-headed, fear-mongering and seditious statements with impunity. Just last week, Perkasa announced it will spearhead the 1Melayu 1Bumi movement to take on the so-called Chinese challenge.
"Given Perkasa's extremist, far-right leanings, Hishammuddin should have recognised the imprudence in allowing the formation of this Rela-Perkasa subgroup."There is the danger that Perkasa may be emboldened to abuse its government-sanctioned Rela power in which to further its racial supremacist goals," she added.record of Perkasa-like tendenciesIn 2006 and 2007, he brandished the keris at the Umno general assembly, and in 2009, he had the gall to defend the despicable Shah Alam cow-head protesters," she added. The Seputeh MP urged the minister to immediately withdraw the approval for the Rela subgroup to demonstrate that racial supremacist groups like Perkasa do not have a place in 1Malaysia.A firebrand Malay group has been making a lot of threatening noise in its campaign to fight for Malay rights and supremacy. It called itself Perkasa and has rapidly won notoriety for its relentless assaults not on external foes but on the common citizens of other races. It has shed its innocent-looking NGO garb to reveal a blood-curdling ogre bent on creating fear and havoc. Thirsting for a fight, the increasingly militant organisation seizes every opportunity to bare its fangs and spill its venom. Its favourite tactics is to lodge police reports and hold placards in front of the intended target. In its self-anointed role as the guardian of the Malays, it has thrown sanity overboard in pursuing its agenda of total Malay supremacy. Ostensibly, the "brown shirts" are aiming their keris at leaders of ethnic parties for allegedly challenging the rights and special position of the Malays. But in reality their ultimate goal is not hard to guess – cowing the next largest ethnic population into submission. Or getting rid of them altogether. In short, Perkasa is lighting the fuse of an ethnic-cleansing war.
To achieve its dastardly aim, Perkasa has set up a Rela subgroup which has all the strappings of a military wing. Called the "Briged Setia Negara", the volunteer corps will presumably receive para-military training – how to handle arms and kill with precision? – and will no doubt be called out "to preserve national peace and security" if the government whistles. The government has given the "Doberman" its blessing courtesy of the home ministry, which means that it has the full backing of the ruling party to be the shield of the Bumiputeras and not in response to an external threat. Once activated, one can imagine the armed members going on a rampage to stop citizens from exercising their right to stand up and speak out. It is unlikely the legitimate forces of law and order will stand in their way. As it is, Perkasa members seem to enjoy immunity when it holds rabid protests against its perceived enemies.
Perkasa is playing with fire with its aggressive political posturing. The mind of Perkasa is "corrupted by the spirit of zeal and bigotry". By flagging the May 13 bogeyman, it is trying to intimidate the non-Malays to submit completely to the will of the dominant race. It threatens a replay of the 1969 race riots in the belief that the other races will back down and will forever keep quiet while waves of extremism wash over the land unchallenged. With its military wing, it probably sees itself as the "angel of death" sanctioned to spread terror and destruction. It gets bolder by the day in the knowledge that it has the tacit support of the two cousins occupying the seats of power. A governing political party needs an armed wing to do the dirty job while it maintains its seemingly neutral stance and caring attitude with its public behaviour. In Perkasa, Umno has found the ideal rabble-rouser to create a climate of dread to serve the Malay agenda.
The Rela or People's Volunteer Corps that Perkasa has in mind is different from the original Home Guards formed in 1948. Then there was real and tangible threat – the communist menace, the Indonesian "confrontation" and the racial conflict. When the Home Guards or volunteer brigade was finally disbanded, its place was taken over by Rela in 1974 to preserve the peace of the land. It became the eyes and ears of the government. Now Perkasa's Rela – a subgroup in the organisation – has become the binoculars and loudspeakers of Umno in their common objective to promote the 1Melayu power base. The friends of Umno are now regarded as threats to national security and therefore must be confronted with force. By resurrecting the May 13 ghost, is Perkasa saying the old Home Guards played a sterling role in the killing fields? Is Perkasa's Rela ready to shed blood again all in the name of Malay supremacy? Its provocative behaviour seems to invite trouble.
Perkasa wants to propagate a "narrow-minded" 1Melayu, 1Bumi concept with only the Malays standing tall. It wants to turn it into a movement first mooted by an ultra Malay language newspaper. The Malay daily and Perkasa have joined forces to confront the political allies of the ruling party and the communities they represent. Their message is clear: oppose the Malays at your own peril. The subtext is the Malays do not need the support of their partners to survive a political battle. They can rule on their own which means Perkasa and its militant Rela can impose their extremist will without any hindrance. When this happens, an iron curtain will surely descend on the country separating the Bumiputeras from their fellow citizens. Two hostile camps. Two antagonistic forces. Two irreconcilable principles. Perkasa and its commander-in-chief Ibrahim Ali, however, cannot bask in strength of numbers. When minorities are pushed to the wall, they have no choice but to turn back – and fight for their lives.

Temuramah dengan Harakah

Posted: 11 May 2011 02:57 AM PDT

Mengapa agaknya saudari sertai politik?

Bagaimana saudari melihat masa depan Pakatan Rakyat?

Kita kena kukuhkan komunikasi sebaik mungkin.

IGP Should NOT Have His Term Extended...

Instead he should be punished for DERELICTION/NEGLIGENCE OF DUTY in the Datuk T sex video case supposedly involving the Opposition Leader. Clearly there is ample evidence to support this charge because since Day 1 when the three Datuk Stooges screened the video to a select audience at Carcosa Seri Negara on March 21, 2011, swiftly followed through with the first snippet of 1min47sec uploaded at Youtube, the police has been complicit in enabling the Trio to maximise the mileage with sanctioned prime time broadcast over TV3, leading to second snippet upload over Youtube later, again telecast by TV3, the "drama" of one the Datuk stooges, Eskay, swearing over the Koran in a mosque, again enjoying much media coverage, in which an "offender" challenged his intended victim DS Anwar Ibrahim to similarly swear over the Koran on his innocence.

Now the said sex video -- which has made Malaysia a laughing stock internationally -- is uploaded for viewing over at at least TWO BLOGGERS' sites which I viewed just some time ago today after I found a link via "SARAWHO.COM". Is the Royal Malaysian Police (PDRM) not ashamed that pornography is now officially accepted to be promoted in Malaysia becaue of its months-long "INACTION". PLAYING POLITICS, Mr IGP, to get the just announced extension of two years?
"
Who weeps for Malaysia?

Who indeed protect our YoungOnes (underaged girls and boys, especially those from infamous Malacca!) from pedlars of pornography?

May God -- however you deem Him to be --- protect us from scoundrels!

Novela Gadis Berambut Merah

Posted: 11 May 2011 02:39 AM PDT

Of Love and Other Demons.

Jikalau kita biarkan tragedi Sierva Maria berulang nescaya gelaplah masa depan rakyat.

"Anak-anak aku PAS, bini aku senyap-senyap sokong PAS", kata sahabat saya.

Posted: 11 May 2011 06:04 AM PDT

Itulah sebabnya UMNO sekarang mengidap penyakit tua" katanya sambil mengilai.

"Orang tua ni kalau kita kata dia salah dia marah.

Pergi ajelah. Bukan rugi pun. Macam-macam nasihat diberikan bukan dia dengar pun, Maklumlah orang tua, telinga pun dah pekak! Katanya menyindir.

"UMNO Terengganu macam mana Man?" saya bertanya lagi. Dia manjawab, "entahlah! Rasa-rasanya kalah pulak kali ni! Tapi biar dia lah, nasehat kita bukan dia nak dengar pun. Kalau kalah pun kalahlah.

Saya pergi ajelah. Takkan aku nok duduk rumah sorang sorang!" sambil senyum.

"Man, berapa PAS dan berapa UMNO dalam rumah kau Man?" tanya saya. "Anak aku 3 orang. Semuanya menyokong PAS menantu 3 orang menyokong PAS juga. Bini aku senyap-senyap menyokong PAS sebab dia ingat aku marah kalau sokong PAS. Bini aku tak tau yang aku pun belum tentu lagi." Sambil senyum-senyum.

Govt stupid excuse for increase in sugar prices!

Posted: 11 May 2011 02:35 AM PDT

KOTA KINABALU: As far as the government is concerned it is a sweet monopoly. The market forces do not dictate the price of sugar, the government does.

On Tuesday the price of sugar in the country has gone up by 20 sen, from RM2.10 to RM2.30 per kilogram .

This is the fourth time sugar prices had increased since Jan 1 last year when it was priced at RM1.65 per kilo.

Prior to that, sugar prices were maintained at RM1.45 for a long period. This marks a 58.6 percent increase in less than one-and-a-half years.

PKR supreme council member Dr Roland Chia feels that the only way to stop periodic price increase in sugar is to take way the monopoly from the government.

"There should be a free competition with the imports of sugar. Let the market eventually stabilize the price of sugar, not the government price control mechanisms, as it just does not work in the long run," said Chia.

Chia also questioned the sincerity of the government when the sugar monopoly was under Perlis Plantations Berhad, a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Kuok Group, and how the government kept a tight reign over price increases.

Profiteering

Ever since it was bought over by Felda Global – a wholly-owned subsidiary of federal government – there has been periodical price hikes.

"It was better when the sugar supply monopoly was held by the Kuok Group through the Perlis Plantations Bhd. There was no increase of sugar prices for 10 -15 years. But, the moment it came under the control of Felda Global, the price of sugar has gone up by RM0.85 cents per kilo in a short period of time," he said.

The monopoly situation has given rise to questions of profiteering, incompetency as well as the rationale behind allowing Felda Global to enjoy monopoly over the import and export of sugar.

Malaysians relatively high sugar intake is blamed for the increased incidence of diabetes, obesity and other related health issues in the country.

The sugar price increase is expected to affect players in the food and beverage industries .Some popular coffee shop here have raised the price of tea, coffee, Milo and others by at least 10 sen.

Last week, the government raised the price of the higher grade RON97 petrol in tandem with global prices which sparked concerns of escalating prices of goods even as the ringgit strengthens against the US dollar.

This week's increase of sugar price will affect the lower income group here as they are already paying higher prices for goods due to import costs that are tied to the national transport policy that limits shipping to and from Sabah.

Chia reminded policy planners that the state is already one of the poorest in Malaysia and perodic price increases would keep taking away any gains made in poverty eradication

… the IMF and its Special Drawing Rights

Do watch PrisonPlanet.TV's exclusive interview of Webster G. Tarpley regarding The Next Decade. Heads up on videos from here.

You may learn who or what really pulls the strings and calls the shots in the world and brings it to its knees – on its terms.

Over and above many of his other learned observations, according to Webster Tarpley, "… as a lender of last resort for national central banks … the IMF will cause a nation to lose its national sovereignty….  The IMF has no success stories to point to. They always fail. They always increase poverty, increase economic backwardness, shut down industries, increase unemployment and so on down the line…. IMF's shock-therapy is widely regarded as economic death…. The track record of the IMF is the destruction of third world economies … de-industrialisation, de-regulation, union-busting, privatisation, the destruction of the social safety net…." Etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.

Wednesday funny

No la. It's nothing.

I was feeling bored while waiting for people to arrive for a lunch meeting. So I looked around and found a magazine which had a photo of Dr. Mahathir on the cover. And like so many Malaysians I did the next thing which was to open the magazine to see what Dr. M was up to. Inside there was a multi-paged article and interview with the senior statesman. Nothing new or funny about that I suppose. Then towards the end of the piece I noticed that the writer had done a listing of Dr. Mahathir's 'achievements' and titled it "Dr. Mahathir's Legacies".  What I read made me fall off the chair laughing. Truth be told if I was Dr. M I would really be upset that such a list was printed. Take a look and see if you think it is funny. In a ironic kind of way.

Dr. Mahathir's Legacies:-

Vision 2020
National Car manufacturer, Proton
Petronas Twin Towers
North-South Expressway
Multimedia Super Corridor
Putrajaya
Kuala Lumpur International Airport
Sepang International Circuit
Bakun Dam
Langkawi's Development
Malaysia Boleh

Other than the North-South Expressway which made travelling a bit more convenient for Malaysians, does the man have anything to be proud of? Funny, right?

ONLY PIGS COME IN GROUPS NAM SINGAM DAA PANDDIGALLAHS THE BARISAN CITIZEN FOR VOTE PANDARA BOX

Posted: 10 May 2011 10:54 PM PDT

PKR today dismissed Hulu Selangor Umno's denial that it had applied for 2,000 foreign workers to be given citizenship to help secure a Barisan Nasional (BN) victory here in the next general election.

Instead, Selangor PKR deputy chairman Zuraida Kamaruddin urged the police to investigate her party's allegations against the Umno division and the authenticity of its purported letter to the Home Ministry.
"There's a letter here, proof," Zuraida told reporters today.
"Let the police investigate. I don't know if the letter is false… (but) it comes from a credible source… a government office," she added.
Hulu Selangor Umno yesterday said the document was a forgery, pointing out that the letterhead used was not the one usually used by the division.
It also claimed division chief Datuk Mohamed Idris Abu Bakar's signature on the letter was different, and that his name was not used in its entirety.
"We ask the police to investigate this, whether there's a syndicate to give ICs (identity cards) (and) citizenship to foreigners for political purposes to ensure a BN victory in GE13," said PKR central leadership council member Khalid Jaafar at a joint press conference with Zuraida.
He had earlier lodged a police report at the Bukit Sentosa police station here.
In his police report, he urged the police to investigate Idris and Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein for alleged abuse of power.
Khalid pointed out that this was similar to "Project IC" in Sabah, where illegal immigrants were allegedly given Malaysian identity cards.
Hishammuddin had rejected United Pasokmomogun Kadazan Dusun Murut Organisation (Upko) president Tan Sri Bernard Dompok's call to set up a royal commission of inquiry (RCI) on the matter.
The minister reportedly said last February that the RCI would not solve Sabah's immigration problem.
Today, Zuraida said Umno's alleged attempt to boost its vote bank by giving citizenship involved national security.
"This is treason to the rakyat," said the Ampang MP.
"We see BN is so desperate till they're willing to compromise national security. This is a huge betrayal," Zuraida added.
A Selangor Umno spokesperson said Idris had chaired a state-level meeting yesterday that resolved to demand a retraction from PKR, failing which it would file a defamation suit.
But Zuraida dismissed the demand, saying: "No problem with that… I think it's a standard response. They'll deny."
The PKR Wanita chief said she had not known of Idris prior to the exposure of the purported letter nor was she familiar with the letterheads Umno used, but pointed out that it was the duty of the police to investigate the authenticity of the document.
"If they claim (the) signature (is wrong), check la," said Zuraida.
In a press conference yesterday morning, Zuraida circulated a document alleged to be a letter Umno had sent to Hishamuddin requesting that 2,000 foreigners be given full citizenship instead of just permanent residence.
The Ampang MP said that the letter, dated March 23, was given to her by a civil servant last Friday.
Zuraida refused today to give further details on the identity or position of her informant.
The application, titled "13th General Election — Seeking approval to obtain citizenships for Hulu Selangor parliamentary seat, Selangor", contains the Hulu Selangor Umno letterhead and purportedly signed by Idris.
However, the Umno spokesperson said yesterday that Idris usually used his full name "Datuk Hj Mohamed Idris Hj Abu Bakar", and not just "Datuk Hj Idris Abu Bakar."
The spokesperson added that the Umno division would make a police report on Zuraida's claims.
The document said that Umno had "identified and validated" a list of prospective voters with permanent resident (PR) status here "who can help BN in Hulu Selangor for the 13th general election".
"Attached herewith is a list of names of those who can become voters in Hulu Selangor and we have also conducted a strict screening of each individual to ensure they are free from any criminal or drug charges or follow any dangerous or misguided ideology. "They are students and entrepreneurs, and together they can help develop the country towards becoming more progressive, in addition to helping BN win every election, especially the coming 13th general election.
"With this, it is hoped that Datuk Seri can give an early approval so that we are able to proceed with the application smoothly," the letter read.
Hulu Selangor is presently held by BN's P. Kamalanathan.
The MIC leader scored an upset when he successfully beat former PKR leader Datuk Zaid Ibrahim for the seat during the April 2010 by-election by securing 24,997 votes to Zaid's 23,272, winning with a 1,725-vote majority.
The seat was previously held by PKR's Datuk Dr Zainal Abidin Ahmad who died on March 25 last year, paving the way for the by-election.
The PKR man had wrested the seat from MIC's Datuk G. Palanivel, who is now the party's president, with a wafer thin 198-vote majority during the political tsunami of Election 2008

Namun agak keterlaluan apabila Dr Jeffrey melibatkan Persatuan Kebajikan Bugis Sabah (PKBS) sebagai salah satu dalang melahirkan ramai PTI menjadi warganegara segera melalui kad pengenalan projek.

Who are the "Other Bumiputera" and Other Ethnic Groups" in Sabah? According to an answer to Teresa Kok (DAP Seputeh), the PM Department said that there are 436,300 "Other Bumiputera" and 143,500 "Other Ethnic Groups" in Sabah. These constituted 25.9 percent of the Sabah population.
The composition of ethnic groups in Sabah as of March 206:
Melayu 342,500 15.3%
Kadazan/Dusun 530,000 23.7%
Bajau 399,300 17.8%
Murut 98,400 4.4%
Bumiputera Lain 436,300 19.5%
Cina 287,200 12.8%
Lain-lain Etnik 143,500 6.4%
Jumlah Warganegara 2,237,100 100.0% (75.1%)
Bukan Warganegara 743,600 (24.9%)
Jumlah 2,980,700 (100.0%)
The question is who are the "Other Bumiputera" and "Other Ethnic Groups" that cannot be classified according to a particular ethnic group. Are these "citizens" non-indigenous to Sabah?
If one is to add the "Bukan Warganegara" category to the above figures, it would exceed 50 percent of the total population in Sabah.
It is an open secret that the number of foreigners in Sabah far exceeded the locals in a span of a few short years.
We heard about the Project M to give "false ICs to foreigners in Sabah for political purposes?
No wonder local indigenous people feel like strangers in their own land.
Dr Mahathir should know the truth about this project in Sabah.
Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) deputy chief Datuk Dr
Jeffrey Kitingan said the correct approach to get to the root of the illegal
immigrant problem in Sabah is to establish a Royal Commission of Inquiry and
not by listing the identity of each illegal. He said the commission of inquiry should investigate and colllect specific
details and come up with specific recommendations to solve this serious
national security problem."This should be the correct approach and not a listing game," he said in a
statement.

He was responding to former Chief Minister Datuk Salleh Tun Said Keruak's
call for him to list out the 1.7 million foreigners supposedly in Sabah,
including 600,000 who purportedly possess Malaysian identity cards.

Salleh had said that if Dr Jeffrey's claim of 1.7 million foreigners
residing in Sabah was true then it would mean that the locals were already
outnumbered and this was not something that could be taken lightly.

Dr Jeffrey said: "To say that the State and Federal governments are already
working on the solution is not a solution.

"The illegal immigrant problem is becoming bigger and more serious each year
with no solution in sight and the Barisan Nasional (BN) leaders should be
aware of the seriousness of this problem."

"I am surprised that Salleh, being a former Chief Minister, does not seem to
be aware of many things, including what had been discussed and reported on
the issue of illegal immigrants and foreigners with Malaysian Ics.

"He is also in a state of denial as to the seriousness of the problem. This
is typical of the BN leaders' attitude resulting in Sabah's problems
becoming bigger and more serious each year with no solution in sight," he
said.

Dr Jeffrey said stating the State and Federal governments are already
working on the solutions does not constitute a solution.

"The other BN component parties (Upko, PBS, LDP and SAPP) all acknowledged
the seriousness of the PTI (illegal immigrants) problems (including those
with Malaysian ICs) as indicated by the Upko suggestion to have a BN master
plan to resolve the issue but (which) was flatly shot down by Umno," he
said.

"I would also like to ask Salleh whether he is speaking on behalf of the BN
government or himself and whether he is speaking as an Umno member or as the
President of Usbo. It would be interesting to find out whether the Usbo
membership is free from illegals and what is its ultimate political
objective."

Meanwhile, Consumers Association for Sabah and Labuan (Cash)
Secretary-General, Joshua Kong said BN component party members should be
raising the issue of the illegal immigrants and fake ICs in the State
Assembly and Parliament, rather than through the media.

He said the press might not be a proper channel for a resolution on the IC
crisis, as what is said in the Assembly would form the basis for further
urgent actions.

On national Umno Youth secretary, Datuk Rahman Dahlan's statement, Kong said
he might be "partially right for his observations" but that Cash was
concerned about both dubious citizens and illegals without any documents.

"Rahman has to grasp the complex IC crisis arising from the so-called
Project IC as several major groups were involved," he said.

Rahman had advised the opposition and NGOs not to indiscriminately link the
presence of illegal immigrants in Sabah with the BN government.

KK Umno: Illegals should apply for citizenship
Thursday, 21 December, 2006

Kota Kinabalu: Steps must be taken to educate foreigners, especially illegal
immigrants "who love Sabah very much" that there are proper procedures to
apply for citizenship," said Umno Kota Kinabalu Youth.

"We should educate these illegals who 'love Sabah very much' that there are
proper procedures to apply for citizenship. It is better to have real
citizenship although the process to get it is slow.

"Compared to 'fast citizenship', which is not guaranteed and most of the
times a scam," said its chief, Bahrul Razha Hj Chuprat in a statement,
Wednesday.

He said Umno Kota Kinabalu Youth believe there is also a need to educate
immigrants with expired visas to return home for revalidation of their
visas, enabling them to return to Sabah to seek re-employment.

"We should educate these immigrants that foreign workers with valid visas
can enjoy better benefits compared to illegal workers," he said.

At the same time, he said awareness must be created among the locals so that
they shed the mentality of "cepat kaya" (making fast bucks) by employing or
"sometime exploiting these illegal immigrants as cheap labour".

The locals must also be educated to discard the mentality of renting houses
or rooms to these illegal immigrants and sometimes exploiting them by
offering poor condition accommodation, he said.

Lastly, Bahrul said, "we should educate our own people not to have the
mentality of "cepat kaya" by Ali Baba-ing (sub-contracting) their licences
to these illegal immigrants who might not even know the rules and
regulations governing the licence.

PAS Sudah Ada Cawangan di Singapura

Posted: 10 May 2011 10:25 PM PDT

Started as the Singapore branch of PMIP in Malaya, the latter originally UMNO Malaya's Ulama component known as the Pan-Malayan Islamic Association but seceded in 1951. A year after legislation was introduced in December 1966 to disallow Singapore parties from being affiliated to non-local parties, it changed name to AI. In the sixties, it came under the UNF alliance but by the eighties, it appeared in elections under on its party name. Its former Malaysia counterpart is known today as Parti Islam Se-Malaysia (PAS).

Tapi, hapah pun tarak. Pilihanraya 2011 lepas, satu kempen pun kita tak dengar.

Sang menantu tanpa berfikir panjang langsung terjun menyelamatkan ibu mertuanya.

He he he ...

Our Rule of Law ...kinda like that unwritten British Constitution!

Posted: 10 May 2011 07:49 PM PDT

Let us not allow this to happen again!

Align Centre
In the true spirit of our founding fathers this country must not be allowed to be ruled by chauvinist Chinese again!

It is kind of like an unwritten British constitution that here in Malaysia, lucky or unlucky, we have a written constitution, but unfortunately, that it is now opened for abuse, especially by the Chinese-based opposition party!.
From what I have gathered, it is a conventional wisdom in this country that the official religion is Islam since the majority of the population that are Malays who professed Islam as their religion.
In this country, if we did not have a unwritten constitution, still the Malay kings and sultans are a clear testimony that the land that was once called Federation of Malaya, or Persekutuan Tanah Melayu, is indeed ruled by Malay majority.
In England even though there is no written Constitution but the British Rule of Law dictates that the Prime Minister of that country cannot be a Negro, Chinese, Pakistani, or Indian originally from
India! Or, by the same token the King cannot be a person of a Chinese, or Indian or Pakistani descent!
We can go on and on saying that it was not stipulated in our "written" constitution that the Prime Minister, his deputy or the King need not necessarily be of the Malay-Muslin descent, that Chinese or Indian or Sikh or anything other than a Malay-Muslim can also be holding that posts?
However, it has been clearly been stipulated that in this country the Malays were and are willing to share with the others, have to be be clearly a country to be governed by that unwritten laws and conventional wisdom that the official religion is Islam and the Prime Minister and his deputy are of the Malay-Muslim descent, and that the King and sultans cannot be a teochew, fuchow, malayali or tamil or dll, other than that what has already been widely agreed and accepted by clear a convention. Unless any one is ready for another racial riot! Read here!
Unless a certain group or groups are willing to destroy that very succinctly em-placed norms and convention and social mores of this country! Or unless if anyone is willing to accept the consequence of the aftermath of the chaos or perhaps an unnecessary blood bath for having such a thought of such disgraced human folly, then lets do this and get it over with!!! Read here for more on British Constitution!

PAS will not bar non-Muslim becoming PM

Posted: 10 May 2011 10:47 AM PDT

PAS will not bar a non-Muslim from becoming prime minister, for having a Muslim as premier does not even arise in the federal constitution, the party says. "The constitution does not bar a non-Muslim from becoming PM, so it's not even an issue of whether PAS will stop it or not," vice-president Mahfuz Omar (right) told a press conference at the party headquarters in Kuala Lumpur this morning.
