DEEPAK SING ROSMAH
Inviting - exciting - emotion with power I had never known, a world of unchained devotion because you were my very own. I had fallen in love with you. Together we sailed in springtime to an isle beyond seas of blue, and when we returned, a new life was waiting, in a valley of dreams where I first fell in love with you.
A Single rosma of love A Single rosema of devotion A Single wish upon my lips A Single thought of you A Single desire to be granted A Single moment of careless bliss A Single love never to be broken A Single rosma for one last kiss
I ONLY DO BUSINESS WITH ROSMAH, SAID THE CARPETMAN. MY RELATIONSHIP WITH ROSMAH IS ONLY FOR BUSINESS PURPOSES. I AM NOT SLEEPING WITH ROSMAH, HE PLEADED. SO PLEASE DO NOT TELL THE PUBLIC THAT I AM ROSMAH'S TOYBOY. THE IMPRESSION HE WANTED TO MAKE IS THAT HIS RELATIONSHIP WITH ROSMAH IS CONFINED TO THE BOARDROOM AND DOES NOT EXTEND TO THE BEDROOM.
WELL, THAT IS NOT WHAT MUMTAZ JAAFAR SAYS. AND WHO IS MUMTAZ JAAFAR? HEY, IF I START TALKING ABOUT HER THEN I WOULD ALSO HAVE TO MENTION HER RELATIONSHIP WITH SAIFUL, THE PERSON WHO ALLEGES THAT ANWAR IBRAHIM SODOMISED HIM. AND IF I START TALKING ABOUT THAT THEN WE WILL END UP TALKING ABOUT THE SODOMY 2 CASE AS WELL. SO LET'S GET BACK TO THE SUBJECT OF THE CARPETMAN, ROSMAH'S BAGMAN CUM TOYBOY.
THE WHOLE COUNTRY IS VERY FOCUSED ON NAJIB TUN RAZAK'S EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIRS. SURE, EVERY MALAYSIAN KNOWS ABOUT THIS. AND EVERY MALAYSIAN ALSO KNOWS ABOUT HIM GETTING CAUGHT IN A PORT DICKSON HOTEL ROOM WITH ZIANA ZAIN. IN FACT, ISA SAMAD EVEN HAD PHOTOGRAPHS OF NAJIB CLAD ONLY IN A TOWEL WITH THE DELICIOUS YOUNG THING IN HIS BED. AND ISA HANDED THE PHOTOGRAPH OVER TO THE THEN PRIME MINISTER TUN DR MAHATHIR MOHAMAD. (AND THAT IS WHY MAHATHIR JUST DOES NOT UNDERSTAND WHY NAJIB WOULD CHOOSE ISA TO CONTEST THE BAGAN PINANG BY-ELECTION WHEN IT WAS ISA WHO TRIED TO BRING NAJIB DOWN WITH THE PHOTOGRAPH).
ANYWAY, LET'S NOT DIGRESS TOO FAR. AS I SAID, EVERY MALAYSIAN KNOWS ABOUT NAJIB'S EXTRAMARITAL AFFAIRS. BUT HOW MANY ALSO KNOW THAT ROSMAH HAS A PENCHANT FOR BOLLYWOOD TYPES. HELL, SHE WILL EVEN ARRANGE DATUKSHIPS FOR THEM IF THEY TREAT HER THE WAY SHE LOVES TO BE TREATED, IF YOU KNOW WHAT I MEAN. AND THIS PARTICULAR CHAP I AM TALKING ABOUT, THE CARPETMAN CUM BAGMAN CUM TOYBOY, IS FAR BETTER LOOKING THAN SHAHRUKH KHAN (OR IS IT DATUK SHAHRUKH KHAN NOW?) — NOT TO MENTION YOUNGER AS WELL.
YES, I HAVE BEEN KEEPING THIS STORY UNDER WRAPS FOR MORE THAN A YEAR NOW. BUT IT IS NOW TIME THAT THE STORY BE TOLD. THERE IS MORE, THOUGH. DEEPAK THE CARPETMAN CUM BAGMAN CUM TOYBOY HAS BEEN VERY NAUGHTY. AND ALL THESE NAUGHTY DEEDS WERE DONE ON BEHALF OF ROSMAH.
1. Romeo and Juliet
This is probably the most famous lovers ever. This couple has become a synonym for love itself. Romeo and Juliet is a tragedy by William Shakespeare. Their love story is very tragic. The tale of two teenagers from two feuding families who fall in love at first sight and then marry, become true lovers and then risk it all for their love. To take your own life for your husband or wife is definitely a sign of true love. Their "untimely deaths" ultimately unite their feuding households.
2. Cleopatra and Mark Antony
The true love story of Antony and Cleopatra is one of the most memorable, intriguing and movingof all times. The story of these two historical characters had later been dramatized by William Shakespeare and is still staged all over the world. The relationship of Antony and Cleopatra is a true test of love. They fell in love at first sight. The relationship between these two powerful people put the country of Egypt in a powerful position. But their love affair outraged the Romans who were wary of the growing powers of the Egyptians. Despite all the threats, Anthony and Cleopatra got married. It is said that while fighting a battle against Romans, Antony got false news of Cleopatra's death. Shattered, he fell on his sword. When Cleopatra learned about Antony 's death, she was shocked. And she took her own life. Great love demands great sacrifices.
3. Lancelot and Guinevere
The tragic love story of Sir Lancelot and Queen Guinevere is probably one of the best-known stories of Arthurian Legend. Lancelot fall in love with Queen Guinevere, King Arthur's wife. Their love grew slowly, as Guinevere kept Lancelot away from her. Eventually, however, her love and passion overpowered her and the pair became lovers. One night, Sir Agravain and Sir Modred, King Arthur's nephew, led a band of 12 knights to Guinevere's chamber where they burst in upon the lovers. Discovered, Sir Lancelot made a fighting escape, but poor Guinevere was not so lucky. She was seized and condemned to burn to death for her adultery. Fear not. Sir Lancelot returned several days later to rescue his beloved Guinevere from the fire. This whole sad affair divided the Knights of the Round Table and weakened Arthur's kingdom. Poor Lancelot ended his days as a lowly hermit and Guinevere became a nun at Amesbury where she died.
4. Tristan and Isolde
The tragic love story of Tristan and Isolde has been told and retold through various stories and manuscripts. It takes place during medieval times during the reign of King Arthur. Isolde of Ireland was the daughter of the King of Ireland. She was betrothed to King Mark of Cornwall. King Mark sent his nephew, Tristan, to Ireland to escort Isolde back to Cornwall. During the voyage, Isolde and Tristan fell forever in love. Isolde did marry Mark of Cornwall, but could not help but love Tristan. The love affair continued after the marriage. When King Mark finally learned of the affair, he forgave Isolde, but Tristan was banned from Cornwall. Tristan went to Brittany. There he met Iseult of Brittany. He was attracted to her because of the similarity of her name to his true love. He married her, but did not consummate the marriage because of his love for the "true" Isolde. After falling ill, he sent for Isolde in hopes that she would be able to cure him. If she agreed to come, the returning ship's sails would be white, or the sails would be black if she did not agree. Iseult, seeing the white sails, lied to Tristan and told him that the sails were black. He died of grief before Isolde could reach him. Isolde died soon after of a broken heart.
5. Paris and Helena
Recounted in Homer's Iliad, the story of Helen of Troy and the Trojan War is a Greek heroic legend, combining fact and fiction. Helen of Troy is considered one the most beautiful women in all literature. She was married to Menelaus, king of Sparta. Paris, son of King Priam of Troy, fell in love with Helen and abducted her, taking her back to Troy. The Greeks assembled a great army, led by Menelaus's brother, Agamemnon, to retrieve Helen. Troy was destroyed. Helen returned safely to Sparta, where she lived happily with Menelaus for the rest of her life.
6. Orpheus and Eurydice
Orpheus and Eurydice story is an ancient greek tale of desperate love. Orpheus fell deeply in love with and married Eurydice, a beautiful nymph. They were very much in love and very happy together. Aristaeus, a Greek god of the land and agriculture, became quite fond of Eurydice, and actively pursued her. While fleeing from Aristaeus, Eurydice ran into a nest of snakes which bit her fatally on her legs. Distraught, Orpheus played such sad songs and sang so mournfully that all the nymphs and gods wept. On their advice, Orpheus traveled to the underworld and by his music softened the hearts of Hades and Persephone (he was the only person ever to do so), who agreed to allow Eurydice to return with him to earth on one condition: he should walk in front of her and not look back until they both had reached the upper world. In his anxiety he forgot that both needed to be in the upper world, and he turned to look at her, and she vanished for the second time, but now forever.
7. Napoleon and Josephine
A marriage of convenience, at age 26 Napoleon took a fancy to Josephine. An older, prominent, and most importantly wealthy woman. As time drew on,Napoleon fell deeply in love with Josephine, and she with him, but that didn't deter the adultery on both sides-their mutual respect for one another kept them together, and their burning passion between them didn't falter, and was genuine. They eventually split, as Napoleon deeply required something Josephine could not give him, an heir. Sadly they parted ways, both bearing the love and passion in their hearts, for all eternity.
8. Odysseus and Penelope
Few couples understand sacrifice quite like this Greek pair. After being torn apart, they wait twenty long years to be reunited. War takes Odysseus away shortly after his marriage to Penelope. Although she has little hope of his return, she resists the 108 suitors who are anxious to replace her husband. Odysseus is equally devoted, refusing a beautiful sorceress's offer of everlasting love and eternal youth, so that he might return home to his wife and son. This Valentine's Day, take a cue from Homer, and remember that true love is worth waiting for.
9. Paolo and Francesca
Paolo and Francesca are made famous by the Dante's masterpiece "Divine Comedy". It is a true story: Francesca is married with Gianciotto Malatesta an awful person, but she has Gianciotto's brother, Paolo, as lover. The love between them grows when they read together a book (according to Dante) about Lancelot and Guinevere. When the two lovers are discovered they are killed by Gianciotto.
10. Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler
"Gone with the wind" can be identified as one of the immortal pieces of literary works in this world.Margaret Mitchell's famous work has chronicled the love and hate relationship between Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler. Proving that timing is everything, Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butlernever seem to be quite in synch. Throughout the epic story, this tempestuous twosome experience passion but not permanence, and their stormy marriage reflects the surrounding Civil War battles. The flirtatious, promiscuous, and perpetually pursued Scarlett can't make up her mind between her many suitors. When she finally decides to settle on being happy with Rhett, her fickle nature has already driven him away. Hope springs eternal in our devious heroine, however, and the novel ends with Scarlett proclaiming, "Tomorrow is another day."
"If women didn't exist, all the money in the world would have no meaning."

RPK: I don't believe Najib, Rosmah involved in Altantuya murder
Malaysia Today founder and editor Raja Petra Kamaruddin says he was not responsible for accusations linking Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor to the murder of Altantuya Shaariibuu. He said he himself doubted the accusations when he made a statutory declaration in 2008, in which he stated he had received information from several individuals close to PKR adviser Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Meanwhile, while I go back for 41 winks, enjoy a fellow Blogger once who served at Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim's office as Programme Drecor, digest his sharing at dinmerican/wordpress.com.
Statement from Din Merican on RPK TV3 Interview
April 13, 2011
My friends, both in government and the private sector, smsed and telephoned this evening to inform me of the Raja Petra's exclusive interview with TV3(as reported below by The Malaysian Insider). I also received a call from Ms. Sira, a journalist from The Star, who had the courtesy to call me a few minutes ago.
I was surprised to learn that I have been linked to attempts to discredit Prime Minister Najib and his wife Rosmah with regard to the Altantuya case. There is no basis whatsoever in fact. I am personally disappointed that Raja Petra Kamaruddin should see it fit to get me involved in a matter where I have zero knowledge.
Like many bloggers, I was unhappy with the Badawi Administration. After Badawi's resignation in 2009 and Prime Minister Najib succeed him, I quietly left Parti KeADILan Rakyat. I know PKR Leaders personally. I also know UMNO-BN Leaders. My links with both sides of the political divide allow me to deal with issues in a dispassionate manner.
I have no disagreements with Prime Minister Najib. Let me state that I am not anti-Najib; in fact, a number of commentators in my blog have severely criticised me for being "soft" on our Prime Minister and his policies.
BUT it is a fact that Raja Petra called me to seek confirmation from Anwar Ibrahim regarding the reliability of a certain military intelligence officer. When I received confirmation from the PKR de facto leader, I relayed it to Raja Petra. That was all to the whole matter.–Din Merican
RPK on TV3 , explains his Altantuya Stories
KUALA LUMPUR, April 13 – The pro-government TV3 station aired an exclusive interview with blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin tonight, where he claimed that he was merely writing accusations made by others against Datuk Seri Najib Razak and his wife over the Altantuya murder case.
"I never accused the Prime Minister or his wife of being involved in the murder of Altantuya Sharibuu," Raja Petrawas quoted as saying in a transcript made available at the private television station's website.
The interview in Perth recently was conducted by a senior editor, Ashraf Abdullah, and aired over the prime-time Buletin Utama news programme at 8pm.
The transcript said the Malaysia Today news portal editor said he was pressured and influenced to carry the news by individuals who did not want Najib to take over as the country's prime minister. Najib succeeded Tun Abdullah Badawi as prime minister in April 2009.
It reported Raja Petra as saying his statutory declaration dated June 18, 2008 was based on information from these individuals, adding that a lot of people accused him of slander without actually reading his sworn statement.
In the statutory declaration (SD), Raja Petra said he received information from several individuals that the prime minister's wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor was at the site when Altantuya was killed.
Altantuya was killed in late 2007 when Najib was then deputy prime minister."In the SD, I related the tale that these people told me the story and they should relate it. And that the authorities should investigate and call these people in. That's what I wrote in the SD. I personally did not make an accusation. I did not say I knew that the wife of the then deputy prime minister was at the crime scene. I didn't say that. I didn't make such an accusation. What I said was that people told the story and it was up to the authorities to investigate it further and for these people to come forward. And I named these people. I revealed this during the police investigations," he was quoted as saying in the transcript in Bahasa Malaysia.
According to the transcript, Raja Petra said he received the information from individuals linked to several politicians including opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim. TV3 named them as Nik Azmi Nik Daud, John Pang and blogger Din Merican.
Raja Petra also mentioned that a military intelligence officer identified as Leftenan Kolonel Azmi Zainal Abidin also gave the same information.
"I didn't accept the story. Because I thought it was impossible. No way that the Prime Minister's wife can go to the scene as it is in the jungle and I didn't think she would climb a hill, enter a jungle in the middle of night, at 12 midnight. I thought that was impossible," he was quoted as saying in the transcript.
Raja Petra was quoted as saying that their task was to ensure Najib did not take over as PM when Abdullah stepped down.He said when he met Nik Azmi, he had asked the reasons for making the statutory declaration.
"What do you hope to achieve? He said Pak Lah will resign, if we don't block Najib, Najib will be the prime minister, replacing Pak Lah," he added.
According Raja Petra, he then asked Din Merican to get confirmation from Anwar."Din Merican contacted me back and said he spoke to Anwar and Anwar had given the green light. He said OK, this man is no problem, what he says we can trust. Anwar knows him well and he usually meets with Anwar.. this leftenan kolonel. And he has told many stories to Anwar about this issue. He said to proceed, I then proceeded," he was quoted as saying.
Raja Petra also said all the individuals had promised to be witnesses if he was charged in court. TV3 said it will carry the second part of the interview at the same news bulletin tomorrow.

IT IS OFTEN SAID THAT ONE MAY HAVE THE BEST LAWS IN THE WORLD, BUT IF WE HAVE CROOKS TO IMPLEMENT THEM, THE GOOD LAWS MAY COME TO NOTHING.
Its just too damned obvious that PI Bala, being an experienced investigator, knew what was going on. With the DPM Najib desperately making sms messages to Razak Magainda and with hook and crook, got Razak aquitted from the murder trial, it is just that Najib all along had planned for Razak to be his fall-guy and to be paid handsomely.click this A.G OFFICE FRAME ANWAR FOR SAYING 'GELEDAH ' SENT HIM TO 7YEARS NOW the sms Bala can link WITH ENOUGH EVIDENCE AND WITNESS TO SENT NAJIB TO JAIL FOR ABUSE OF POWERIt does not make sense for Razak to murder Altantuya with C4, after all even he is charged with the murder, his position does not give him the authority to involve so many uniformed personnel to carry out this scenario. Thus Najib can claim to be not involve with Altantuya. Now that Razak is aquitted and he cannot be charged again with the same charge, Najib thinks that he can still get away with this cruelsome murder. If Abdul Razak Baginda didn't order two elite cops to kill a Mongolian translator, who did?
After one of the lengthiest trials in Malaysian history, a politically well-connected insider was acquitted Friday of ordering the murder of his jilted lover, a woman whose death had the potential to reach into the highest levels of the ruling party.
With the acquittal of political analyst Abdul Razak Baginda, the question was left hanging of who ordered the murder of Mongolian translator Altantuya Shaariibuu on October 19, 2006, allegedly by Police Inspector Azilah Hadri and Corporal Sirul Azhar Umar. After ordering Abdul Razak freed, High Court Judge Mohd Zaki Md Yasin ordered the two put on a defense.
Altantuya, aged 28 at the time of her death, was executed by two shots to the head in a jungle clearing near the Kuala Lumpur suburb of Shah Alam on October 19, 2006 and her body was blown up with C4 explosives available only to the military. She reportedly had come to Malaysia to confront Abdul Razak over his decision to end their affair.
The two belonged to an elite bodyguard unit under the control of Deputy Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak, who appears likely to become the country's next prime minister, and who was one of Abdul Razak's best friends.
During the 151-day trial, in which 84 prosecution witnesses testified, none of them was Najib although two statutory declarations and other evidence linked him to the dead woman. According to a detailed sworn statement by P. Balasrubramaniam, a private investigator that Abdul Razak hired to keep Altantuya away from him after he had broken off their affair, the political analyst told him he had inherited the Mongolian woman as a lover from Najib because Najib didn't want to be harassed as deputy prime minister.
However, almost immediately after Balasubramaniam made the statement public, he was hustled to the Brickfields police station in Kuala Lumpurwhere he said he had been coerced into making the statement and recanted it entirely. He and his entire family have since disappeared. Raja Petra Kamaruddin, the influential blogger who printed the statement in his Internet publication Malaysia Today, was arrested under the country's Internal Security Act and is serving two years in prison. He is also being sued for criminal defamation over some of his reports that tied Najib and his wife, Rosmah Mansor, to the murder. He has also been charged with sedition for publishing other articles on the murder.
Rosmah has denied Raja Petra's allegations but said she would not sue. Asked why not, she told local media on July 1: "If you are innocent, what is there for you to address? I am not a politician and I am not running for any post. I'm just the wife of a politician."
If Najib or his wife had filed the charges, under the law they would be subject to motions for discovery and cross-examination, which presumably would not happen if the state instead filed the charges. More than once the filing of defamation charges has bounced back on the plaintiff because of that reason.
According to evidence introduced at the trial and other sources, Abdul Razak contacted Najib's chief of staff, Musa Safri, to ask Najib's bodyguards, Azilah and Sirul, to "do something" about Altantuya. Musa was not required to appear as a witness. Deputy Commander Mastor Mohd Ariff, an associate of the two bodyguards, said members of the unit were required to follow all orders of their superiors without question, describing the unit's members as "like robots" who would only take orders from their superiors. Abdul Razak, a civilian and friend of Najib's, was not a superior officer. According to an affidavit filed by Abdul Razak, Azilah contacted Abdul Razak after Altantuya's disappearance to say that "tonight encik (sir), you can sleep well."
Testimony by the murdered woman's cousin indicated that immigration records of Altantuya and the two Mongolian companions who had come toMalaysia with her to confront Abdul Razak disappeared from the government's immigration files. She also responded to a question that she had seen a picture of Altantuya having dinner with Najib before she was hurriedly hushed up by both prosecution and defense lawyers.
Nonetheless, Judge Mohd Zaki dismissed a bid in July to call Najib as a witness in the trial. Zaki also refused to call Balasubramaniam despite his written declaration, which implicated Najib in the events leading up to the murder. In addition to other lurid details, Balasubramaniam described text messages between Najib and Abdul Razak in which the latter was asking for help to avoid arrest.
Later, a series of text messages was made public indicating that Najib had been involved in finding a lawyer, Shafee Abdullah, to represent Abdul Razak. One message from Shafee to Najib said: "We provided (the police) everything, including old PDAs and notebooks and a couple of bills. Nothing incriminating." Malaysia Today said the exchange raises questions if anything "incriminating" was kept from the police.
Besides allegations that Altantuya was the lover of both men, the case has raised additional concerns of corruption at the top of the United Malays National Organisation, the leading political party in the national ruling coalition. The Mongolian woman appears to have been the translator on a controversial transaction in which Malaysia, with Najib as defense minister, paid €1 billion for French submarines, netting a company tied to Abdul Razak US$111 million in "commissions."
A letter written by Altantuya shortly before she disappeared indicated that she was attempting to blackmail Abdul Razak for US$500,000, raising suspicions that she had inside knowledge of the transaction. The woman's father, Shaariibuu Setev, a psychology professor in Ulan Bataar, said she had been killed because she "knew too much," although he never elaborated on what she knew.
The trial has been rife with other irregularities. At the start, the original judge was replaced by Mohd Zaki. The prosecution was hurriedly changed so quickly that the trial had to be postponed. There were numerous attempts to limit the introduction of physical evidence. Sirul's confession was ruled invalid because it was not cautioned.
The prosecution also sought to impeach two of its own important witnesses. One, Lance Corporal Rohaniza Roslan, was the girlfriend of the senior of the two bodyguards and said she saw Altantuya being taken away in a car by her boyfriend. Later she said her testimony had been coerced. Another was Yusri Hasan Basri, a member of the bodyguard team and a colleague of Sirul, who said he had important information on physical evidence in the home
The more he tries to elude from this unending probe into his involvement the more evidence will surface with the help of the spirit of Altantuya. On 11th October, Malaysia Today carried a post entitled 'Abuse of power by the Deputy Prime Minister' that laid out a series of sms'es alleged to have passed between Najib and senior lawyer Shafee Abdullah in relation to Razak Baginda's arrest and remand in the days before Baginda was charged.
Najib was publicly asked to comment about these sms'es and he never denied the authenticity of the same.
Now, there's one other exchange of sms'es, this time allegedly between Razak Baginda and Najib. I do not recall Najib himself having ever addressed or denied or admitted the correctness or otherwise of these sms'es directly, as he did with the series of sms'es referred to in the MT posting.
I am referring to the 2 sms'es mentioned at paragraphs 51 and 52 of the first statutory declaration of private investigator Balasubramaniam. Let me reproduce below both paragraphs 51 and 52 of that first statutory declaration.
51. On the day Abdul Razak Baginda was arrested, I was with him at his lawyers office at 6.30am. Abdul Razak Baginda informed us that he had sent Najib Razak an SMS the evening before as he refused to believe he was to be arrested, but had not received a response.
52. Shortly thereafter, at about 7.30am, Abdul Razak Baginda received an SMS from Najib Razak and showed, this message to both myself and his lawyer. This message read as follows: " I am seeing IGP at 11am today … matter will be solved … be cool".
Like all of you, I am aware of Bala's second statutory declaration contradicting the first, but we also have to acknowledge that the circumstances surrounding the making and public announcement of the second statutory declaration, and the subsequent disappearance of the maker of both, might make it prudent for us to defer adjudging which of the two statutory declarations narrates the truth until such time that Bala is available to fully disclose andexplain the circumstances surrounding the making of both statutory delcarations.AS THE TAXI DRIVER SAW…ALTANTUYA'S LAST HOURS.

Prime Minister Najib admits it. Chief Minister Taib too. It will not going to be easier this time for Barisan Nasional, come Saturday April 16.
Although confidence is high in the BN camp that the ruling party would again secure a two-third majority, the number of votes may falter. Also, a few more state seats could go to the Opposition, especially the Sibu parliamentary by-election in May 2010 say the seat fell to DAP.
The BN assault is shouldered by Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS) and Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party (SPDP).
The 'urban Chinese' will again be the decider for BN. During the Sibu by-election, the Chinese were more fond of the Opposition promise of a change. SUPP, the Chinese representative in the state BN, lost six seats to the DAP in 2006, and they are again fighting to win the hearts and minds of the Chinese electorate.
Taib said in Kuching yesterday he was confident the BN would gain more than the 48 seats required for the two-thirds majority because the BN still enjoyed support in the Bumiputera areas that form 80 per cent of the constituencies.
The BN held 63 seats in the 71-member state assembly and is contesting all seats again this time.
The bulk of the opposition is coming from Peninsular-based Parti Keadilan Rakyat and DAP which are fielding 49 and 15 candidates respectively while PAS is contesting five seats. Homegrown Sarawak National Party is banking on a revival by standing in 26 seats after its talks with the PKR on seat distribution collapsed, while Parti Cinta Malaysia has six candidates.
A total of 213 candidates including 41 independents are contesting this time around.
Although analysts said BN could win by a bigger majority - plus the possible split in votes among the opposition because they had failed to compromise on seats due to greed - Najib and other leaders remained cautious.
As for the opposition harping on the tenure of Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud, it is no longer an issue as Taib himself had indicated that he would retire in a year or two, and that his successor has been identified.
Issue brought up by Iban tribe on as when will 'an Ibanese' can become a Sarawak CM has also been defused while land tittle complication was settled much earlier.
The only thing that matters now is how to convince and persuade the Chinese to opt for BN. As Sibu has provided a morale booster to the Opposition, DAP could provide just the challenge for BN candidates on Saturday.
However, with a full force machinery from the Peninsular - including PM, DPM Muhyiddin and other senior ministers - Sarawakians should be able to get the message clear that only BN can champion their causes.

Malaysia Cronicle : Pakatan Rakyat has unveiled a 10-point manifesto for Sarawakians aimed at restoring the state's wealth to the people and bringing them abreast with the rest of the world.
The plan won high praises from prominent civil society leaders and socio-economic experts.
Among key highlights are a guarantee of freedom of religion, free WiFi to move Sarawak into a knowledge-state, a Competency, Accountability and Transparency system of governance, respecting the 18-points agreement and a promise to investigate allegations of the ill-gotten wealth of BN leaders and their cronies.
"It is a most commendable plan, comprehensive and caring and should be welcome by Sarawakians. Of particular note is the commitment to guarantee freedom of religion, which is a hot issue. This condition was absent in the manifesto released by the BN last night. Pakatan has already scored over BN by giving this topic its top priority," Ramon Navaratnam, chairman of the Centre for Public Policy Studies, told Malaysia Chronicle.
Doing the right thing by Sarawakians
Sarawak will hold its 10th state election on April 16 and campaigning is now in high gear as the Opposition led by Anwar Ibrahim give the unpopular and scandal-plagued Chief Minister Taib Mahmud the fight of his political life.
Seventy-one seats in the state assembly are up for grabs. The Pakatan will be contesting in 69 with PKR fielding 49 candidates, DAP 15 and PAS 5. Taib's BN coalition will go for all 71 seats.
There are about 2.5 million people in Sarawak, of which 43 per cent are Christians.
Many major issues have cropped up of late including a row over the Malay-language Bible, which has sparked concerns amongst the non-Muslims about their freedom to practise their own faiths.
Another is the mountain of corruption scandals dogging the fabulously wealthy Taib, who has ruled Sarawak with a fist of iron for 30 years. He has been accused of amassing "inordinate amount of wealth through the timber industry".
But despite repeated calls, the federal government and the Malaysian Anti Corruption Commission have ignored what was plain to see even though there is a specific provision in the MACC Act to investigate all those who live above their means.
A foreign NGO also recently reported that the 74-year old Taib controlled at least 49 companies spanning 8 countries.
"Second, ill-gotten gains are particularly pertinent in Sarawak where there have been long-standing reports of vast accumulation of wealth by a few individuals. This provision would certainly be put to test in fertile ground in Sarawak," said Ramon.
"Another very sensitive issue to indigenous Sarawakians is the long overdue attention towards resolving their basic anxiety over their ancestral land. So this pronouncement will be most welcome to the people there. Tackling poverty and reducing poverty will also go down well as the majority of Sarawakians are poor.
"The focus on banning nuclear plants is the very first commitment of its kind in Malaysia. This move could well be replicated by the federal government and all the other state governments given the tragic lessons from Japan.
"The provision for free Wifi will also be welcome and will have positive impact on the way Sarawakians communitcate and is especially beneficial in a society that is unfortunately dispersed across vast geographical terrain," Ramon, the past president of Transparency International, concluded.

As you may recall, I raised my concerns about 1MDB in September 2010 when Pakatan Rakyat exposed how the fund, which was already allocated RM5 billion in 2009 via government bonds, was planning to raise another RM10 billion. That would have raised the fund's liabilities to RM15 billion by 2013, which is four times the value of bonds issued for PKFZ that amounted to RM3.68 billion.
To hoodwink the Rakyat, Dato' Seri Najib said that 1MDB had in fact declared a profit of RM425 million in the first year of operation. He never told us how.
1MDB was able to declare a profit for 31 Mac 2010 because it entered into a very suspicious transaction tantamount to a blatant attempt to deceive the Rakyat. The profit declared was nothing more than an accounting entry to hide a trail of arrangement to create slush funds for BN.
On the surface this looks like a stunning financial return; a roughly RM615 million gain that helped 1MDB show profit.
But careful reviews of the 1MDB's financial statements show a different picture. PetroSaudi, which received cash when 1MDB bought the stake, is now paying for the transaction through an 11-year loan scheme that will only be fully repaid in 31 March 2021.
Why such a sweetheart financial arrangement?
Nearly 70% of 1MDB'S original capital is now tied-up in a loan, which there is no certainty it will be paid.
PetroSaudi and many of its associates are companies incorporated in tax havens, such as Cayman Islands and the British Virgin Islands. Therefore, there will not be any transparency of the transactions between 1MDB and PetroSaudi and the latter's associates which will remain to be shrouded in secrecy.
What is also as explosive is the Taib Mahmud's connection to 1MDB and the dubious transactions it recorded.
Last year PetroSaudi paid over RM1.5 billion to takeover UBG Bhd, the financial arm of the business empire owned by Taib Mahmud's family that was facing difficulties.
The financial statements strongly suggest that 1MDB's financial merry-go-round is clearly a political slush created by the BN and Najib to enrich cronies and bail them out.
Therefore, in light of the massive and unprecedented spending and political bribery seen in this Sarawak election, Pakatan Rakyat demands the following:
The immediate halt of the company's efforts to raise more funds from the banks until such probe is completed;
A freeze on any attempt by BN to transfer any government property into 1MDB, such as the plan to award the company the prime piece of real estate in Jalan Cochrane; and
A full disclosure on who is behind PetroSaudi and 1MDB to convince the Rakyat that the company is financially sound to meet all its obligations to repay the loan.

Platform.AM atau Platform Anak Muda (Youth Platform) is organising a protest against the media that promotes the dirty, hateful and biased politics.
Date: 16hb April 2011, Saturday
Time: 3:00pm to 6:00pm
Venue: Masjid Jamek and the rest of the country
But it's not exactly a protest (in the conventional sense) - more of a flash mob.
You don't know what a flash mob is? I didn't either, until I read THIS. It was carried out in the UK and it got some attention.
It sounds like a flash of fun-meets-civic-duty. Social activism is actually getting exciting these days.

The MCLM president was told that he is blacklisted and cannot enter the state, with no reason given. The Malaysian Civil Liberties Movement (MCLM) president Haris Ibrahim today became another civil activist denied entry into Sarawak "on orders from above".
Malaysiakini was first alerted about the matter from a tweet by Fahmi Fadzil, the political secretary to Pantai parliamentarian Nurul Izzah Anwar.
"Urgent: @harisibrahim joins the honored list of @SivarasaRasiah @millemeow and @chinhuatw in being banned from #Sarawak," wrote Fahmi in his tweet.
When contacted, Haris (left) confirmed that he is now stranded at Kuching Airport after being refused entry into the land of the Hornbills.
"I was denied entry into Sarawak, they told me I was blacklisted on orders from above, though they themselves are not aware of why I am banned," he lamented.
Haris, who was travelling alone, said that he insisted on a black-and-white written order of his blacklisting.
"I don't intend to go back without an official confirmation," he said.
The lawyer-turned-activist contends that it is insane for Sarawak not to allow people to come into the state just because an election is going on, particularly without a valid reason.
"This is s blatant abuse of powers, plain and simple."
Pursuant to his request, he was issued a "Notice of refusal for entry".
On the notice was written:
"Pursuant to Section 65 (i)(a) of the Immigration act 1959/63, the state does not allow you to be issued a pass to enter the state of Sarawak."
Again, no reason was stated as to why he was refused entry.
"I can't for the life of me wonder why I would be denied entry, I am a most peaceful man. I even brought my suntan lotion and cap thinking of having a good time," he said snidely.
More seriously, he said that it is common knowledge why activists like him are barred from entering Sarawak, as the powers that be want to stop them from revealing the truth to the rakyat.
The MCLM president said that he will be put on a flight back to KL courtesy of the government of Chief Minister Taib Mahmud, but that will not be end of it.
"I shall go back, consult with my lawyers and decide if there are grounds for legal action. This abuse of power must stop. It had gone on probably because no one had challenged it before," said the lawyer feistily.
Haris was the latest in a long list of activists and opposition politicians banned from the state.
Last week election watchdog Bersih 2.0 representative Wong Chin Huat faced a similar fate, joining activist Steven Ng and Subang MP R Sivarasa.

Artikel terbaru Raja Petra bertajuk "Indonesian have more principles than Malaysians".
Kita lihat sahaja sambung temuramah Raja Petra besok malam.
