Wellcome to One Sex Malaysia
Penn State researchers has found that having sexfor the first time can improve or degrade your self-image depending on whether you are male or female.
On average, college-age males become more satisfied with their appearance after first intercourse, whereas college-age females become slightly less satisfied.
"We're not talking about 12-year-old girls having sex, so it's striking that even among these youngwomen — who are 17 or older when they first had sex — their images of themselves went down," said Eva S. Lefkowitz, associate professor of human development and family studies.
"If on average they're feeling worse about themselves, it says something about their development of healthy sexuality and healthy sense of self and being."
Overall the researchers found that women became happier with their physical appearance from first to fourth year in college, and men became less satisfied with their appearance over the same time period.
However, the researchers found the opposite directly after students had sex for the first time — males were more satisfied with their appearance and females were less satisfied.
The researchers reported their results in the current issue of the Journal of Adolescence.
The 'Datuk T' trio, who exposed the sex video involving a man resembling an opposition leader, will be protected under the Witness Protection Act and Whistleblower Act should the authorities feel they have a case.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz said the Acts could be used to protect the three individuals involved in making the video public.
"However, both Acts need not be used at the moment as no party has been prosecuted and the case is still under police investigation," he told reporters at the Parliament lobby Monday, when asked to comment on protection laws available to the three.
Former Melaka chief minister Tan Sri Abdul Rahim Thamby Chik, businessman Datuk Shazryl Eskay Abdullah and Pertubuhan Pribumi Perkasa Malaysia (Perkasa) treasurer Datuk Shuib Lazim, have admitted that they were part of the Datuk T trio responsible for keeping and screening the video to members of the media at Carcosa Seri Negara last week.
Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) advisor Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has denied that he was the man in the video and lodged a police report on the matter.
Following the revelation, the individuals also came forward for interrogation by Bukit Aman police and handed over the video and an Omega watch as proof.
Nazri said the matter did not only revolve around the law but also involved morals.

Rahim Thamby Chik seems to have lost his mind while in the political wilderness, and while he goes back there to look for it the rest of the country should not be left wondering who was exactly on the tape that everyone is talking about.
I mean, nearly every conversation with an adult friend that we have not met for the last week would inevitably begin with a query whether I have seen the tape or it inevitably ebbs towards that topic.
Malaysians cannot avoid the subject though some are keen to see and others say they loathe it.
Let's get back to Rahim or RTC.
We all know that he has an axe to grind with Anwar for leaking those stories about an affair he allegedly had with a 16-year old girl and I completely understand his anger with Anwar but as a politician he must hold on to Machiavelli like a painter holds on to a brush, it is the most important tool in a politician's arsenal.
First and foremost politicians should know that the objective is the most important thing and if it means sleeping with the enemy then so be it. Any politician who fails to understand this simple concept should be sacked.
RTC should know that his direct involvement in the revelation of this sex tape will damage the message and turn a hot potato into a slimy potato.
As a seasoned operative RTC should only have to look at the Chua Soi Lek video expose to know and understand that sometimes it is best if people think it appears by magic...sure some quarters in MCA were accused of it but in the end there was no proof.
For his direct involvement and eagerness to claim credit, Rahim Thamby Chik should be sacked from Risda, DS Najib should sack him if for nothing other than to make it clear to the world that he does not endorse gutter politics and has nothing to do with this sordid episode.
The fact that any blog that puts the words 'Anwar sex scandal video' in that particular or any random order would instantly attract 50 per cent more traffic means Malaysians do want to know who is involved in the recording and who is on the tape itself
If the man implicated is indeed a pot bellied person with generous backside then it would help to clear Anwar's name and forever shame Datuk Trio of Eskay, RTC and Shuib Lazim for their involvement.
If the man does indeed take a strong likeness to Anwar, then let the people decide if it is real or whether it is just the result of editing whizz.

Anwar is gaining political 'strength' (here) out of the sex video which links him. Why?
1. PM Najib has quashed at Nazri Aziz's earlier statement that the Datuk Trio would be protected under the Official Secret Act (OSA). So, Nazri is making himself looks very stupid, acting on his own and without the PM's consent.
2. Rumors that PM gave his 'full blessing' for Rahim Tamby Chik to expose the video and have a good preview to members of the media, is definitely wrong. Why should Najib do so? The rumors itself provide a morale booster to Anwar.
3. AG Gani Patail's rebuttal that RTC and Gang would be free from any kind of prosecution also adds strength to Anwar (here). As RTC was pinpointed to be the mastermind in the sex video, he can be charged as 'intruding' into someone's personal life, making a clip video out of it, in possession of illicit materials and showing it to the media. As to whether it was really Anwar who 'acted' in the scene, the 'actor' can sue those involved as planning a conspiracy against him.
4. Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein too wants a part in it (here). He plans to sue Anwar for accusing him and the police of planning the set up and for supporting RTC and Gang. And a tip off that he will employ TS Cecil Abraham of Zul Rafique for the job is already raising a lot of questions since Abraham 'is a good friend of Anwar'. Suing Anwar too would make the whole government looks like its leaders speak different tones about the issue. I hope bro Hisham will not sue Anwar as all that happened is already backfiring us. Anwar made such an allegation to provoke Hisham. The more we sue him the more political mileage Anwar gets.
So, I think the best way is for every BN leaders, media and bloggers to stop riding the issue. Just let the police conduct proper investigation while the AG office consider appropriate actions to settle it.
In other words, all should SHUT UP! Let Anwar do whatever he likes. Court cases and libel suits are nothing to him.
Its time to separate the men from the boys...

To the uninformed, one might be forgiven if her or she thinks that once one is a Muslim, the discrimination that one once faced as a Untouchable @ Dalit / Harijan / Parayan, etc might be a thing of the past.
Not as I have learned. It is shocking to see these unwarranted forms of apartheid being practiced by those who claim to be Muslims.
I will not pretend that there are no such behaviors amongst the Muslims of Malaysia but to see these absurd levels of segregations being allowed to divide and separate the ummah over there in India just makes me seethe with anger and be sad and dismayed simultaneously.
What kind of people do we have there masquerading as the alims, ulema and scholars of Islam whilst at the same moment allow such bias and discrimination fester amongst the obviously confused and ignorant lot of India's Muslim communities?
Fair enough, we have to accept the fact that even in the life and times of Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam, there were slaves who were mostly persons belonging to a particular race or ethnicity namely Abyssinians or Africans like Sayyidina Bilal ibni Rabah.
But then when Sayyidina Bilal was freed from his bondage, he was treated as an equal by the early Muslims, Companions of Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam.
Only those who are ignorant of true Islamic teachings will resort to differentiating between fellow Muslims and go around strutting like a vain peacock claiming to be from this or that lineage, proudly stating to be from the genealogy going back to the Holy Prophet.
To people like this, I'd say that I am from the Prophet of Allah's lineage too, just like every other person here on Earth! I am also a Son of Prophet Adam Alaihis Salam so do all other human beings!
I am sad to see these unwarranted apartheid system permeate there in India and all other parts of the world.
I call upon those who have a position to change the way things are taking place in India, to work towards abolishing such cruelty.
There is no law in both the Holy Quran or the Prophet's Hadiths allowing for such a system in the lives of Muslims.

Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear; though war break out against me, even then will I be confident. One thing I ask of the Lord, this is what I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his tabernacle and set me high upon a rock. Ps 27:3-5 By Gerard Samuel Vijayan This statement is clear and comprehensive. All legitimate issues, problems and difficulties have been highlighted. No need for any further statements from the CFM and the Roman Catholic Bishops' Conference. The next step is for the priests, ministers, pastors and elders to send subtle messages to their flock as to how to vote in the coming Sarawak state elections. The churches have a huge presence in the state even in the interior areas, so they can play an important role to galvanise the people to support freedom of religion and to stand up for the truth and justice. During the campaign period, the churches should also refuse to accept bribes from the BN in the form of instant cash handouts. Christianity is not for sale. Admin Note: If Muslims have 'Jihad' (struggle) to wage war against all that is Evil i.e. oppression, corruption and racism, then Christians also have the RIGHT to wage a CRUSADE against the racist and Satanic BN/Umno Regime of Prime Minister Najib Razak. Let's start this CRUSADE this Sunday at all Churches especially in Sarawak. Priest and Pastors must take up their CROSS together with their Flock and rebuke Najib Razak and the entire BN/Umno Regime in Jesus Name. The Catholic Church MUST do the right thing and haul up Catholic MP's from the Evil BN/Umno Regime to state their stand on the Bible issue. Failing which, the Catholic Church must view these Catholic BN/Umno MP's like James Masing and Joseph Pairin Kitinggan as heretics and excommunicate them from the Church. It is the duty of all Christians to ask Christians who support the BN/Umno Regime to repent and leave the Party, failing which you must rebuke them in JESUS NAME! So you know whay to do when you see the likes of Maximus Ongkili, Pairin Kitinggan, James Masing, Billy Abit Joe, Wong Chun Wai etc when they show up in Church this Sunday. Let's bring down the Evil BN/Umno Regime starting with the Sarawak Elections. ONWARD CHRISTIAN SOLDIERS in the Name of The Father and of the Son and of The Holy Spirit. Amen. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Cor 10:4-6

We are grateful to Almighty God for bringing together Christian leaders from across churches in Semenanjung, Sabah and Sarawak to address the current controversy surrounding the impounding of Bahasa Malaysia Bibles, the Alkitab, at Port Klang and Kuching. This decision weighs heavily on us because of the implications not only for Christians but for all Malaysians.
We are united in our reaffirmation of the freedom of religion and worship. Therefore, our position is that there should be no restrictions, proscriptions or prohibitions whatsoever on the bible or the use of the language of our choice in the practice of our religion, as it was in the days before and after the formation of Malaysia.
Christians, like any other Malaysian, are not demanding for anything beyond our constitutional and fundamental human rights as enshrined in Article 11(1) of the Federal Constitution and Article 18 of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
The current controversy surrounding the Alkitab is just one of many issues that concerns Christians. There has been a systematic and progressive pushing back of the public space to practise, to profess and to express our faith. For example, the wearing and displaying of crosses and other religious symbols, the use of religious words and the construction of places of worship have been restricted.
When Christians express this concern, we do so not just for ourselves but on behalf of all Malaysians. Our faith forms a critical component of our identity as Malaysians in nation-building as enshrined in the first pillar of our nation's Rukunegara: Belief in God.
As regards the offer made by the government on 22 March 2011, we respectfully state that this does not address the substantive issues. In point of fact, our previous offer made in 2005 to use the term "A Christian Publication" was only honoured in respect of one shipment of the Alkitab. Subsequent shipments were similarly held up and subjected to further arbitrary conditions for release.
In order to move forward, we call on the Government to commit itself once and for all to remove every impediment, whether legal or administrative, to the importation, publication, distribution and use of the Alkitab and indeed to protect and defend our right to use the Alkitab.
This includes revoking all orders made under the Internal Security Act 1960, which have declared the Alkitab as a threat to national security. Neither can the Alkitab be considered a threat to public order under the Printing Presses and Publications Act 1984. We categorically reject the characterisation of our Holy Scriptures in this manner.
Instead, we see our Holy Scriptures as providing enlightenment and direction. In the words of the psalmist, "Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light for my path." (Psalm 119:105). In the New Testament is stated the teaching that we hold dear and true: "All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (II Timothy 3:16)
We remain committed to work with the Government for a viable and long- term solution where the detailed processes and procedures are made clear and unequivocal and so long as our fundamental liberties as enshrined in the Federal Constitution are not infringed.
As for the copies of the Alkitab that have been impounded and desecrated, we reiterate our position that the action of the Ministry of Home Affairs (KDN) in stamping the bibles amounts to an act of defacement, disrespect and treating with disdain the holy book of the Christians.
Given the unfortunate experience of KDN's tendency of taking arbitrary action without consulting affected parties or respecting the religious sensitivities of the Christian community, any decision to collect copies of the Alkitab which have been stamped and serialised would be with a view to prevent the possibility of further arbitrary acts of desecration, disrespect or destruction being committed against the Holy Scripture of the Christians by KDN and its officers.
We have left it to the two importers to decide whether or not to collect the Alkitab, based on their different specific circumstances and level of trust in the authorities and the processes in their local context.
Nevertheless, no matter what their decision is, we remain united in our common stand to uphold the principle of freedom of religion which includes the free availability without hindrance or obstacle of the Alkitab and all sacred scriptures in Malaysia.
We continue to call on all peace-loving Malaysians to pray for a dignified resolution to these critical issues in the life of our nation.
Dated this day 30th March 2011

Aku tidak faham mengapa Pemuda PAS mengajak Arman Azha Abu Hanifah (Bekas Pemuda PERKASA) menjadi ahli PAS...
The Malaysian Insider
Pemuda PAS sedia terima Arman Azha jika sedia tinggalkan Perkasa

Fresh trouble is brewing over the use of "Interlok" in schools, with Chinese groups today condemning the novel's depiction of Chinese characters as greedy, opium-smoking lechers keen to exploit Malays for profit.
Having weathered a storm of controversy from the Indian community over the novel's use of the word "pariah", the Education Ministry now faces Chinese calls to drop the "racist" book from the Form Five Bahasa Malaysia syllabus.
In a statement today, Chinese associations from across Malaysia said the book was not only offensive to Indians but Chinese as well, as it depicted the character Kim Lock as a "miserly opium addict and callous adulterer" and his son, Cing Huat, as "cunning, greedy, unscrupulous and someone who would happily sell his daughters".
"'Interlok' in its totality propagates the ideology of ketuanan Melayu. In our considered opinion, this novel is not only unhealthy but an insidious poison," the statement said."In fact, 'Interlok' is barely a step away from the Biro Tata Negara (BTN) brainwashing that promotes racism and disunity. 'Interlok' conveys the central message that Chinese, Indian and other minorities are second-class citizens in addition to perpetuating the divisive notion of a host community (the Malays) versus foreigners ('bangsa asing' Cina dan India)."
The groups also condemned the "major thread" in the book, which depicts the Chinese "cheating and oppressing" Malays or as "nasty and immoral" communist guerrillas.
The statement was signed by the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall (KLSCAH), LLG Cultural Development Centre, Malaysian-China Chamber of Commerce, the Federation of Chinese Associations Johor, the Penang Chinese Town Hall and 40 others, including the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST), Saya Anak Bangsa Malaysia (SABM) and several Indian organisations.
Some excerpts appended as evidence of the book's alleged racism include:
* "We eat anything. Roots if we can get them. We beg. We steal. We don't have a daughter. If we have a daughter, we can sell her." (Kim Hock, pp 119-120)
* Kim Lock takes Mei Hwa to smoke opium and has sex with her every time they meet like that. (p 200)
* In a big and strange city like this, people cannot be kind, if they are kind they can't be rich. Here money becomes the measure. In this world, money is the number two God. (pp 155-156)
* "Cina Panjang says all that land rightfully belongs to him. The cows we kept are also his. My father pawned it to him." (p 88)
* Seman said he gave all the land to Cina Panjang, and the Chinese man then asked Seman to leave the kampung. (p 92)
The associations pointed out, however, that they did not wish for national laureate Datuk Abdullah Hussain's book to be edited — as demanded by Indian groups unhappy with the word "pariah" — but also called for the book not be used in schools.
They urged the Education Ministry not to allow "slurs" that hurt the feelings of the various communities to be uttered with impunity and asked that it substitute the book with reading material more suited to the classroom.
"State-endorsed literature should rightly promote contemporary progressive values such as democracy, freedom, equality and human rights. Living in Malaysia of the 21st century, we ought to advocate 'Ketuanan Rakyat' instead of sponsoring a parochial and narrow ethnic hegemony," the statement added.
"Interlok" was written by Abdullah in 1971 and chronicles the daily struggles of the Malays, Chinese and Indians in pre-independence Malaya.
Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said last week that the Cabinet had asked Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka (DBP) to edit the novel in order to replace terms offensive to Indians but refused to drop the book completely.
Muhyiddin added that his ministry will also provide a glossary to explain the phrases and concepts to students to provide historical context.

Any type of handout and goodies to voters during elections is a form of corruption, an anti-graft watchdog group said today.
Datuk Paul Low, president of Transparency International Malaysia said that any "enticement" for votes during elections was considered "corrupt practice".
"There have been a lot of arguments on vote buying, enticing voters via money, 'sewing machines', we believe that this is corrupt practice. When you give these sweeteners, what would be the motivation? Any enticing for votes, we believe that is corruption," said Low.
Although he did not name anyone, it is believed that Low's remarks were intended Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, for his statement in Parliament yesterday.
The minister had said that handout and goodies in the form of financial assistance to voters during elections was not a form corruption because it was the federal government's way of "fulfilling its promises" and manifestos.
"We have already promised that if we won we would fulfil (our manifesto)... for example a sewing machine, if we do not give it during elections we will give it after elections, is that a crime? We cannot stop this because well, we will be giving it after (elections)," said the minister during a reply to PKR Ketereh MP Ab Azizi Kadir.
The PKR MP had asked the government to state whether it considered financial assistance during elections or by-elections as a form of corruption.
Nazri also said that a total of RM11,185,542.93 (11.2) million was spent on 16 by-elections since 2008.
"Unfortunately we do not have adequate laws to address this," said Low today.
Although he acknowledged the fact that even Pakatan Rakyat (PR) offers election promises in terms of development, he coined the "promises" as a "borderline case".
"Unless the EC comes out with specific guidelines, I don't think that's corruption. These are borderline case but you cross the line when you say 'here is one thousand, vote for my party,'" said Low.
The TI-M president called on federal and state governments to voluntarily refrain from actions that results in unfair advantage, and to push for a "level playing field."
"This should begin with equal and free access to public media," said Low.

If Lake Gardens was your favourite couples' haunt in those days, you would probably have seen Prem's mobile van parked there to cater to hungry young lovers out on a date night. (pic: a typical Meals-on-Wheels).
Mobile vans are great for providing home services too. There is money to be made for those enterprising and creative enough to venture into this niche business. That was how I met Lawrence Loong of Hello Handyman and Casey of MV Ideas Enterprise.
It was Casey who drew my attention to MyIdeas set up by the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation to encourage Malaysians to come up with creative ideas "to improve the society and overall Malaysian life". It's a great way to get feedback on your ideas. The ministry will convert the best ideas into reality, as in Casey's car wash mobile business.
With my mom (and me) housebound, I can think of a host of home services that could be quite successful with the right marketing and management, beginning with home nursing care. Here are more to think about:

Meeting tomorrow on Thursday 31st March 2011 in Nanjing, when finance ministers and central bankers from the G20 will meet to discuss about all issues except the elephant in the bath tub.
The central problem today with the international monetary system is the balancing of the flow of international trade and the international flow of money. In theory, surplus demand and surplus supplies will adjust so that a balance is always established in the end. Again, this is in theory. In the real world, none of this automatic adjustment exists except possibly in the commodity markets where specific commodities are produced with much competition from substitutes and where supply and demand conditions are fairly easy to predict as they are slow to adjust. Hence, a few traders can corner the commodity markets and hold the poor of the world to ransom, and the only adjustment the poor can make is to starve themselves.
The problem with international monetary imbalance is that, like the poor, deficit countries are under the greatest pressure to adjust only because they run out of credit to spend themselves out of their problems. What do you do when a poor uncle or a poor friend, dying of old age and dwindling income generating capability ask for help - once, twice and we imagine if we allow it, ad infinitum. We answer ashamedly, "I think I have helped you enough" while planning for our next vacation abroad.
One way that an international agency can step in to help the deficit country is to give it some credit when all other conventional lenders refuse to continue to give. The IMF tries to behave like the global central bank with the authority its own currency called the SDR (special drawing right) with funds from the deposits of central banks as "customers". The SDR is constructed like an index number and then its exchange rate determined based on that basket, and translated into the needed currencies like the US dollar for actual transaction purposes. In this way, the IMF steps in to ease the temporary "financial" problems of deficit countries while programmes are put into place the solve the "real" problems.
At the same time, the surplus countries are under no pressure to adjust at all, just like the rich who will only get richer because they have found a strategic advantage to benefit from the rest of the world. That strategic advantage for China may simply be sheer hard and intelligent work for minimal pay, very much reduced consumption and still have surplus to keep. It is simply a question of lifestyle, of a way of life. The poor may not be the destitute but simply those who have sufficient and who overspend. It is still lifestyle and bad habits. Do we then discipline the hardworking and be lenient with the spendthrift. It is not exactly that the US is poor and China is super-rich. Intra-China, there is also an imbalance where the rural poor worked hard for the urban capital-rich for the enjoyment of the deficit US consumers who pay for things with computer digits.
So, what are the adjustments or what are the "real" problems. Is it an exchange rate problem? It was OK before, but now it is not OK. If a people have worked so hard and so long to enjoy a bit of luxury, do you then ask them to adjust their currency so that they will have a work harder and enjoy less. Do you not ask the deficit country people to find new ways of doing things and produce new stuff so that they may have a fighting chance with selling their wares. Or do we allow specialisation of countries where countries like China, Japan and India produces real stuff while European economies produce financial crises.
Or, do we think that surplus countries will translate all their foreign reserves into domestic currency and flush the economy with cash in the real estate and the stock market. Or, do we not think that they will use the US dollar to buy US assets in the US - which the Japanese did in the eighties.
Or, are the issues to be discussed at the G20 really more about strategic issues such as not letting the East conquers the West just like the way the West had previously conquered the East. Is it not really about fearing the huge immigrant population in the US and Europe will forsake those countries and the productive but fluid labour force will float to the most competitive countries in the world and reforce the success.
Against such fundamental issues, we will find that the G20 could just be a meeting to air some issues "of global monetary importance" and then return home to placate the population that something has been done and things will take time to happen. In the meantime, adjustment is a slow cook.
