The process of collecting and analyzing intelligence is comparable to predicting an earthquake, Panetta said at Thursday's hearing. "People can tell you where the tremors are, they can tell you where the fault lines are," he said. "They can tell you the threat of something happening is close, but they can't tell you exactly when the earthquake will take place."
It is quite evident that BN has the upper hand in the race to the next GE. Support for Pakatan Rakyat is waning due to many reasons including the fast imploding PKR, the implications of the verdict in Anwar's Sodomy II Trial on Anwar and PKR and other factors.
Most of us seem to be either in political fatigue, or going about with a newly-acquired apolitical stance or filled with skepticism. Yet, the fact remains that the next GE is fast approaching, probably sooner than we think.
SIGNS OF THE TIMES Eventually, individuals like Masterwordsmith are identified. They are mocked till the next scandal emerges. Rather than identifying the core issues and dealing with them, we are often taken aback by the audacity of political leaders to ally with Masterwordsmith Is it that big of a surprise to know that the major UMNO -BARISAN employ a group of people to lobby likes Masterwordsmith at all time? Maybe it is time to take corruption out of the murky undergrounds, exposed it to the daylight of regulation and recognize that money and politics will also be intermingled. It is about time to regulate this phenomenon so that such high level exploitation does not occur. Democracy is flawed. How else would you explain the perverted incentive system that plagues democracies? We call this plague corruption In Indian politics, the rise of big money is relatively new. But the perception of political leaders being affiliated to business remains morally blasphemous in society. While fundraising isn't illegal in Malaysia, it highly discouraged in our social practices. Instead, when businesses approach political leaders, it has to be in the shady night. The consequence Legalising Corruption It was called lobbying. For all practical purposes lobbying can be thought of as controlled corruption. Businesses register as interest groups and approach political leaders with their plans. Any transaction that takes place between the politician and the lobbyist is recorded and made available upon request. You don't see hoards of money floating around because interactions are regulated (or American politicians are particularly good at hiding the money). This doesn't mean that America isn't haunted by lobbying issues but they are better at dealing with it. A World Bank economist commented on the current corruption crisis by saying "even greed needs to regulated."Have you noticed the increasing use of the "I" word in conversations around us? "I did this"; "I said that…" "Ultimately, I had to resolve the situation…" When someone goes wrong, "Didn't I warn you beforehand…?" When someone achieves something, "Oh, I always knew you would win this!" When something untoward happens, "I did have a premonition…"And don't just smile and nod in agreement. You do it too! All of us have this deep-seated, all-pervasive need to make our mark on events around us. Most conversations end up being nothing but an overlap of "I-s", where each one tries to tell his story, readmore http://themalaysiantribune-taxidriver.blogspot.com/2011/02/malaysia-today-is-playboy-but.html

Please, give this Perkasa's Arman Arza Abu Hanifa his overdue 15 seconds of fame. The guy desperate for notice.
But the telling reasons, "Why?" is not yet known ! "Why does he want to do this? The poor Youth Leader unsure, asks in positive bewilderment. Suggested reasons: For popularity ? To incite hatred against the gov?
Boy ! This Arman is damn good. He has raised an issue that certainly will spawn raging debates both in the blog sphere and coffee shops throughout the nation….
Begs the question what they do on their off
(Free Malaysia Today) – Perkasa claims that Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim is making plans to flee Malaysia in order to escape a prison sentence in relation to his Sodomy II trial.
YO, PUGFACE, YOUR MAMAK KING ALSO PLANS TO MIGRATE TO ZIMBABWE IF DSAI WINS LAH.
And i do wonder Where the UMNO flee when they fail to form government next few months….
Pengecut, surely will shrink more and more.
What is wrong if Anwar flees. Who would not so the same thing if they hace been wrongly jailed for six years and constantly harassed and demonised and persecuted like he has committed a great crime when so many REAL criminals are allowed to go free.
You should be ashamed of yourself, you are doing this to your muslim brother who is such a talented leader just to stifle opposition. Beware of your own sins. You are trying to destroy and deprive us of a great leader because of your own greed and power.
At least Anwar is fighting for democracy. What are you fighting for? To only enrich and fatten yourself at the expense of others. What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and looses his own soul?
Baby One More Time (Britney Spears)
We've heard it a countless times. It shot dear Britney to stardom. But listening to it here in the Baby One More Time live in London, Oops Tour, I have to confess that yeah, her perpetual "loneliness" and the emotional barfing of it all has been killing me for quite some time. Brit's also chrips, "when I'm not with you I lose my mind/give me a sign/hit me baby one more time." Looking back, I'm wondering if she meant that literally? Brits: as much as I've enjoyed your 2000-2010 creative slideshow into the abyss and back again, why not spend the next 10 years spitting out material that could, oh, actually empower the youngsters, in better way/?
Every Breath You Take (The Police)
Ponder this music video by The Police performingEvery Breath You Take (Black and White Version/(C) 1983 A&M Records Ltd.) Here's what I hear: "Every move you make/Every vow you break/Every smile you fake/Every claim you stake/I'll be watching you." That stings, Sting. Stalk much? Later, the icon sings, "Since you've gone I been lost without a trace/I dream at night I can only see your face/I look around but it's you I can't replace." One word: Try. Ok, I get it: love, real or imagined, is a bit painful. There's some loneliness involved. Two more words: Grow up. Take life by the big cajones, head to mirror, tell youself you're a pretty decent person and start loving yourself, man. (That'll be $150, thank you.)

Watching CNN and CCTV this evening from 6.00pm gave Desi a lift.
Yesterday it was still uncertain whether Hosni Mubarak would be defeated.
Finally,he admitted defeat -- at the hands of millions of brave Egyptians who took to the streets in a show of yes, PEOPLE'S POWER!
Yes, finally Mubarak has resigned, with some score of lives being the price paid.
There is a message for dictators all over the world. After 30 years, Mubarak should thank his lucky stars he has still an escape route. That his head had not been chopped off.
There is also a message for Malaysians too.
There is a special message to Sarawakians who have been living for 30 years under the rule of one head whose time has come -- to be chopped off. Figuratively...and literarily?
I urge the people of Sarawak to follow the fine example of the Egyptian people. Demonstrate people's power when the next Sarawak State elections are called -- deadline is July 2011.
The clock is tiktoking for a "local" Mubarak by the name of Taib Mahmud. "30" is an unlucky number for some, but a lucky one for Egyptians. Sarawakians, rise up and make "Thirty" lucky for all Malaysians too!
Set a fine example to the rest of the country's citizens, brethren in Sarawak.Land below the wid will blow the dictator of 30 years into the wilderness, hopefully after his is held to account for the millions he and family have plunderedfrom the State. Justice must prevail. People's power must triumph. God bless the people who must do the right thing, at the right time.
God save us from the dictators and the daylight robbers, Amen.

The doors are slowly closing on Larry Sng as he fights for his political lifeline. According to our source the BN Supreme Council has put their foot down and has rejected "outright Larry's application to stand as a direct BN candidate. It was unanimously agreed.
It seems that there are only four options available for Larry.
An informed source even went as far as saying he does have a Fairy God-Mother who will make sure there is a seat available for him. It's a decision Larry will need to make and as far as his political lifelife is concerned he himself knows bests.

A while back, MyOverseasVote brought to light the issue of voting rights for Malaysians living abroad.
Now the election commission has reversed their stand under pressure (I have trouble believing that the embassies and high commissions acted on their own initiative).
However, this does not include Malaysians living and working overseas - only students.
PETALING JAYA, Feb 11 — The Election Commission (EC) has instructed the Foreign Ministry to allow all full-time students abroad to vote at overseas missions, said its deputy chairman Datuk Wira Wan Ahmad Wan Omar today.
