Alamak... Tok Rais!

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 11:11 AM PST

I am taking the cue from blogger Noor Hasilah Ismail (Asam Pedas). Again, its about Rais Yatim. Titled 'Penonton Malaysia Bodoh Ke?, she was startled with the minister's comment that Malaysian film and movie producers should stop making horror or ghost movies.

Why?

He was commenting on producer Sheila Rusly's denial that her latest drama series 'Sakti Delima' carries elements which deviate from Islam. Although the movie was an adaptation of P Ramlee's 'Pancha Delima', TV3 has stopped airing in on the 4th episode.

Agree... but I better not comment on this. Read Shila's blog, will you?

However, I recall this. Sometimes early last year (in March, if I am not mistaken), the minister had 'tried' to issue a directive to local radio stations, including private-owned to stop or reduce offering foreign songs to the rakyat.

I immediately called a senior ministry's official and said: "You better ask Rais to regulate only dondang sayang, ghazal, langgam, joget, dikir barat, boria and local songs for the radio stations!"

So much for the 'Malaysia is truly Asia' slogan!

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 09:12 AM PST

Sarawak “Dissolution of State Assembly”

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 07:36 AM PST

The window is closing and after the State Security briefing last Thursday many of the BN YBs and members who attended said,"It will be very soon as the feel good factor especially with State PKR in disarray and the urban chinese coming back to BN and the rural bumiputera voters solidly behind the coalition."

A Senior Minister added that the local and world economic factors are being closely monitored too. The BN machinery is ever ready to face all the challenges which the Sarawak Pakatan 4 will throw at them.

We are ready but we would not be "complacent"

He continued,"It does point to the dissolution of the State assembly to be before the next DUN sitting in early May. The election commision would then be ask to fix the date for nomination and polling dates.

A SUPP asst minister said the urban voters will look at all  factors affecting the state before they vote. Its easy to just say,"Coffee,Onions and bread are up and the government is not doing anything about it. The urban trend of voters needs to be pacified and a lot of hard work in dessimination of information is needed. Our YBs are working hard and they know it will not be an easy ride anymore.

I ask you,"Does anyone go into a war thinking that he will be defeated.?

We know DAP and their partners are working doubly hard and they are using all methods and ways to run down the government of the day. They just can't wait for the dissolution date too.

THERE ISN'T MANY SATURDAYS LEFT…

About 100 noisy protesters gathered outside Masjid Al-Ihkhlasias in Kampung Kerinchi this afternoon, demonstrating against a non-Muslim lawyer who had allegedly complained about the volume of the azan (call for prayer) from loudspeakers.Unfurling banners and shouting Allah-u-akbar (God is great), the crowd also burned an effigy of the complainant. Najib will you marry me if I bring Anwar and Azmin down and let you win the coming Election

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 04:48 AM PST

The only sad part to this party is that slutty looking go-go didn't also show her tits too!

First is an outgoing Umno youth chief who scored a national first when he was rejected for a ministerial role.
Second is Minister in the Prime minister's department, Nazri Aziz whose greater 'achievements' was shouting the phrase "bloody racist" (or variants of it) 28 times in Parliament in 2005.
Last but not least, is the undischarged bankrupt Ummi Hafilda Ali, who appeared like a deus ex machina for BN. She considers herself a "true patriot" and claims to be able to single-handedly lead BN to victory.

Ummi Hafilda Ali, was a key witness in Opposition leader, Anwar Ibrahim's first sodomy trial. She has been out of circulation for the past 13 years and her sudden appearance has prompted speculation that she is in financial difficulties.
Ummi has naturally, been misunderstood. She was upset that because of her absence in the 2008 elections, BN lost 5 states and performed dismally. She now hopes to make up for her absence.
She said, "In the 12th general election, when I did not take part in the campaign, you could see how arrogant Anwar was when spreading lies, because of his lies we lost five states to the opposition".
"If I go around the country campaigning that will be the end of Anwar because I know his secrets," she added.
Ummi may be short on policy but has tons of trivia that might appeal to the core of BN voters.
She states that the only reason for her sudden appearance is to actively campaign for BN in the next general election. She believes that her presence, will prevent a repeat of Election 2008 when the coalition lost its customary two-thirds parliamentary majority for the first time.
Others however, believe that Ummi suffers from sibling rivalry and cannot bear to see her older brother Azmin Ali, grab the limelight now that he is PKR's deputy president. Her preferred strategy is to attack and besmirch the character of Anwar, her brother Azmin, and also her sister-in-law, Shamsidar.
She also claimed that Anwar and Shamsidar had an illegitimate child.
It is far easier to attack a defenceless child
She said, "You can compare the picture of this daughter with Azmin's other children."
Ummi suffers from selective amnesia. Was she not informed that during the course of the trial, DNA tests proved that Azmin and Shamsidar were the biological parents of the child in question?
Ummi is perhaps smarting from accusations that she was responsible for straining ties within her own family and thus, is venting her frustrations on her niece.
Ummi knows better than most people that the Malaysian public love family feuds and scandals and that in her world, they would rather concentrate on personalities rather than policies.
That is why Najib did not have any reforms to unveil at the recent BN convention, unlike Pakatan Rakyat, with their detailed '10 point, 100 day-reforms plan'.
Ummi is naturally, saving her best for Anwar.
Ummi claimed that "If anyone is willing to invite me, I will go. Some may say Anwar is a great orator but I know he is afraid of me."
Anwar's underlying weakness is that he understands only too well the concerns of ordinary voters.
Najib is content with his line-up of people with a vast array of experience in primitive tribal politics.
On the other hand, Anwar has had to convince voters by relying on his '10-point, 100-day reforms plan'. This is the series of reforms which Pakatan hopes to adopt to effect a change in the complexion of Malaysian politics.
Anwar's appeal is in how he addresses the concerns of the disenchanted people, whose hopes and dreams of a better Malaysia, he is desperate to tackle. Anwar has vowed to work on the positive aspects of governance and said that if Pakatan Rakyat were to form the next federal government, it would revamp critical institutions like the police, Election Commission, the Attorney-General's Chambers, the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission and also reward teachers with additional money.
On the other hand, Ummi has chosen a different tack. She hopes Anwar will succumb to fear.

Shameless Utusan Melayu Says Teresa Kok Defamed Them

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 02:50 AM PST

Recall that Spew-tusan Melayu has in recent memory carried out the following unwarranted attacks on Teresa Kok:

Without any trace of humility, repentance or shame (as if any of us expected that from Spew-tusan) they're pressing charges against Teresa Kok for defaming them:

Utusan vs Teresa Kok court case on March 21

KUALA LUMPUR — The High Court here fixed March 21 to hear the suit filed by Utusan Melayu (M) Berhad (UMMB) against Seputeh member of parliament Teresa Kok for allegedly making defamatory statements about the daily.

Deputy registrar Nor Azlin Othman fixed the date in chambers today when the case came up for mention.

In February 2009, UMMB served the writ of summon and statement of claims on Kok, whose real name is Teresa Kok Suh Sim, 47, for allegedly uttering defamatory statements about the newspaper.

In its statement of claims, UMMB said the alleged defamatory statements were made on Sept 22, 2008 when Kok claimed that the daily had distorted her statements to the national media and in her own blog about the food served to her while being detained under the Internal Security Act (ISA) in 2008.

The plaintiff, among other things, is seeking an order to remove defamatory articles, words, quotes or comments from the blog.

The plaintiff is also seeking an injunction to restrain Kok, whether by herself, her agents or servants from further publishing or causing to be published the defamatory words.

UMMB is seeking general, special, aggravated and punitive damages as well as costs and any reliefs deemed fit by the court. (Bernama)

Yes, the very same ISA detention that Spew-tusan got Teresa Kok thrown into!!! Can you believe the gall of these [insert the most insulting swear word from your native tongue here]?!!

And as additional evidence, recall that this disgustingly racist, partisan, religiously bigoted, sorry excuse of overpriced bird-cage poop-lining previously insulted Indians with racist slurs and stereotypes, libeled DAP as insulting Islam (for not groveling on the ground to admit that other religions are inferior to Islam!), and then had the gall to cry that Malaysiakini rouses tensions.

Oh wait, is Utusan going to sue me over my remarks? I apologize in advance, I am in no way advocating abuse of pet birds by exposing them to such bile!

Isu Laungan Azan di Masjid Al-Ikhlasiah

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 01:51 AM PST

Kenyataan Media
14 Januari 2011

Agama Islam menuntut kita mencari kebenaran.

YB Nurul Izzah Anwar
Ahli Parlimen Lembah Pantai

==========

Press Statement
14 January 2011

Islam bids us to seek the truth. Yet in seeking the truth, one must maintain civility. Moderation and harmony must be kept. Thus, I invite those who had protested today to join me in seeking the truth of the matter regarding the call to prayer (azan) issue at Masjid Al-Ikhlasiah.

Firstly: who was it that made the complaint, and has this complainant's letter been thoroughly reviewed to get a clear and convincing picture of the complaint?

Secondly: if this letter was indeed officially submitted to and received by YAB Perdana Menteri, YB Datuk Raja Non Chik, YB Major Datuk Seri Jamil Khir bin Baharom, YB Dato Seri Mohd Nazri, YB Dato Seri Koh Tsu Koon and the PM's advisor for religious affairs, Datuk Seri Abdullah bin Mat Zain, what was their respective responses?

Thirdly: which party was responsible in ordering the Mosque Committee to reduce the volume of the azan, and

Lastly, if indeed it was JAWI that had ordered the action, we cannot but seek a written explanation if there exists guidelines regarding the azan for all mosques and suraus across the country, that enabled JAWI to issue the order to Masjid Al-Ikhlasiah.

The protestors must ask those who received the letter of complaint: what was their response?

Member of Parliament for Lembah Pantai

Malay Groups Want ISA For ‘MCA Man’ In Azan Row - By Asrul Hadi Abdullah Sani.

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 01:35 AM PST

A group of 100 Malay protesters congregated in front of Masjid al-Ikhlasiah in Kampung Kerinchi here today to protest against a lawyer from the MCA who purportedly applied pressure to stop the mosque from using loudspeakers to play the Muslim call to prayer.

The group, consisting of members from Muslim welfare group Pekida and Malay rights NGO Perkasa, claimed that a "Chinese lawyer" had demanded the mosque stop the "azan" (call to prayer) recital.

The demonstrators also held posters naming the lawyer and displaying what they claim to be his home address in Pantai Hill Park condominium.

At the protest, the chairman of Pekida's Lembah Pantai chapter, Zakaria Awang, demanded that the man be arrested for sedition.

"We want him to be arrested under the Internal Security Act for threatening national harmony or he can change his citizenship to a nationality of his own liking," he said.

He added that the "lawyer" should also make an open apology to the Muslim community in the country.

The group also distributed copies of a fax purportedly from the man, and said to have been sent to the Prime Minister's Office asking for the volume of the mosque's loudspeakers to be lowered.

In the letter dated December 20, 2010, the man said that he has been a member of MCA since 1998.

He said that he has been living in Pantai Hill Park for five years and was roused in the mornings by the mosque's call for prayers.

"Several months ago, I hear the sound from the mosque to be very loud until that it woke me every morning at 5.45am," the letter read.

It is understood that the man identified had once worked for a former MCA president who was also a Cabinet member.

The man could not be contacted for confirmation that he had written the letter.

Kampung Kerinchi Residents Association chairman Fauzi Che Ahmad said the lawyer must respect the sensitivity of the Muslim community.

Pekida's Lembah Pantai chapter deputy chairman Sallehudin Yakob also said that the gathering was not political but to protect the sanctity of the religion.

"We have never complained when the Chinese burned firecrackers in the middle of the night. We never made noise when they burn for hours. Don't play with fire," he warned.

The speakers gathered behind a long white banner with the words "Call for prayer is a sacred call."

Other protesters held up placards asking the man to live in the jungle and warning him to not challenge the Muslim community.

The crowd also shouted "God is great," "Long live Islam," and "Long live the Malays."

A small minority of protesters asked for the man to be decapitated and his house to be burned down

The group also asked Lembah Pantai lawmaker Nurul Izzah Anwar to explain her position on the issue.

After talking to reporters, the group proceeded to wave Pekida's flag and began burning effigies before the police came and stopped them.

The mosque is situated near a new commercial development area called Bangsar South, and was first opened 30 years ago, while the lawyer only moved to the Malay-majority neighbourhood about five years ago.

Pantai Dalam used to be dominated by squatters and low-cost flats but has seen the development of luxury apartments and commercial property in recent years.

The Muslim call for prayer first became a political issue in 2008 when Selangor executive councillor Teresa Kok was arrested under the Internal Security Act (ISA) for allegedly asking a Puchong mosque to stop playing the azan over its loudspeaker.

Kok, who was released a week after her arrest, denied the allegation while the mosque's committee members also came forward to defend the Selangor DAP chairman.

Fuyoh! The PM answers questions tweeted to him

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 12:41 AM PST

Oh Najib, Najib...tsk...tsk...tsk...sigh

Now I am getting really confused.  A couple of days ago, Najib warned us of the effects of unregulated use of the Internet and how unfettered access to Western culture would decimate Asian values. Today Najib is out there on YouTube answering questions which he received via Twitter #tags which he initiated. But...but...but...I know what you are thinking. How can? Well, Najib did say "our children and future generations of ASEAN should retain their Asian cultural values and they must be protected from the threats on the Internet."  He also added that the public must be educated on how to use the Internet in a responsible manner.  And today on YouTube he showed us just what he meant and how to use the Internet in an Asian way.  You see, when you use the Internet you must not raise any 'sensitive' issues. Like politics, transparency in government, justice etc.  That presumably would decimate something or other. You must talk about things that really matter. Like where to get the best char koay teow. Like who irons the PM's clothes. Like whether Pirates or Ninjas will win.  Like..........SIGH..........I osso don't know la.......  If Najib was trying to show us Malaysians a different side of him, a softer more down-to-earth image sort of thing then I would say he fucked up. Big time!!!

A cyber-trooper just scolded me and said I should watch and listen to Najib's future YouTube replies to #tanyanajib and not pre-judge the poor man. Oh you mean there's more? And he does answer more serious questions?  Then my question still remains as to why he chose to lead with char koay teow and other 'entertaining' questions.

If I'd wanted  entertainment I would go watch the Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians at PJLA later this month.

Wanna Know Which Orphanage In Penang Involved In Child Sex Abuse Scandal?

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 01:04 AM PST

And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven. "Whoever receives one such child in my name receives me, but whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea.
(Matthew 18:2-6 ESV)

It was reported in The Star that there has been a sex scandal involving a children's home in Penang. No mention has been made with regards to the Children's Home concerned. Among the notable Children's Home in Penang are the St. Joseph's Home, Wisma Yatim, Ramakrishna Ashram and Salvation Army. A lot of speculation has been going on with regards to the identity of the Home. What is sickening is the fact that these children were sexually and physically abused by their caregivers. However, what is even more sickening is the probability of these victims may have been under the care of a religious based Home and that the 'Religious' authorities who run this Home may have known of such dastardly acts and may have swept this heinous crime under the rug and go on a denial mode.

We have already heard of how the child sexual abuse scandal has rocked the Catholic Church in Europe, North America and in Australia. The frightening thing is that very often we hear of child sexual abuse scandals involving the Catholic Church but rarely hear of such crimes happening in children's homes run by other faiths. The Scribe believes that such crimes also occur in other Homes run by other religions. However the Catholic Church almost always becomes the favorite target for such exposes.

What is important here is that many faith based children's home have been set up with the noblest of intentions where dedicated men and women have helped to nurture and care for these children. Very often the Religion that runs such Homes that are implicated in such a scandal, become a target of ridicule and hate by segments of society who hate the religion concerned. Whatever the case, The Scribe wants the identity of these criminals to be exposed and be brought to book. Even more important, if this scandal involves a religious run body, then the immediate Head of that religion under the purview of the Children's Home must also be prosecuted and be defrocked by his peers to keep the sanctity of the faith he or she represents and also for failing to take action when it was possible.

#TanyaNajib Video: What Najib Said vs. What Najib Meant (#WNSvWNM)

Posted: 14 Jan 2011 12:41 AM PST

He didn't think he'd get away that easily did he?

Jelas.info presents What Najib Said vs. What Najib Meant (#WNSvWNM)

Enjoy!

Q: Pirates vs. Ninjas – who do you think will win?

WNS: "depends where the duel takes place. Land = ninjas. Sea = priates"

WNM: Dua-dua pun bodoh, klo nak menang pakailah C4.

Q: Baju Datuk Seri, siapa yang ironkan?

WNS: "Kalau ada masa, saya memang nak iron baju sendiri…. sejak masuk politik, takde masa… nasib baiklah ada pembantu rumah untuk ironkan baju saya"

WNM: WTF kind of idiot question is that. The person who irons my clothes is paid enough to hire someone else to iron her clothes. But I'm not allowed to hire any young women for the jobla… Neither is Rais

Q: Do you see the glass half empty or half full?

WNS: "Invariably I like to see it half full"

WNM: Actually, the only full I like is Saifull

Q: Pernah bacakah buku The Prince?

WNS: "Saya pernah baca buku The Prince, dan saya ingat lagi beberapa quotation.. tapi saya bukan peminat The Prince atau Machiavelli.

WNM: Machiavellian? I'd have to grow a pair first, brah.

Q: Where can I get some nice char kuey teow

WNS: "If you come to my open house during Aidilfitri, you will get nice char kuey teow"

WNM: You expect a handout more than once a year? Fck off!

Q: Are you jealous of Khairul (Msian goalkeeper) because he trended and now it's your turn?

WNS: "I'm happy that a fellow Malaysian has trended and become an idol among the young people. I think it's good we have more and more such personalities"

WNM: Are you trying to get me killed?!?! DO NOT MENTION THE WORD "jealous" IN FRONT OF SHE WHO MUST NOT BE NAMED!

Your own #WNSvWNM interpretations are most welcome :)

ps- Najib seems to end the video with some sort of evil laugh. I have no frikkin' clue what he meant by that, but it scared the shit out of me. What do you think he was laughing about?
