Khusrin Mungkin Guna Polis Untuk Gagalkan Persidangan Tergempar DUN 24 Januari Ini

Assalamualaikum Tuan Haji Tulang Besi,

Saya orang dalaman UMNO.

Wassalam

Dato Mustafa Ali Tegur Dato Hasan kerana Tidak Wala' Kepada Keputusan Parti Dalam Isu Perlantikan Khusrin Munawi

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 10:33 AM PST

Dato Hasan Ali dilaporkan berkata:

Menjadi maklumat umum Hasan Ali GAGAL mengawal Khusrin sewaktu beliau memegang Pengarah JAIS.

PRESS STATEMENT

PAKATAN ONLY NEEDS RM19 BILLION TO IMPLEMENT 100-DAY REFORM PROGRAMS

Prime Minister's repudiation of Pakatan's 100-day reform programs on financial ground will further highlight UMNO/BN's reluctance to spend the national wealth for the people.

It is a bit presumptious for the Prime Minister to claim that Pakatan's 100-day reform program will bankrupt the country, since it is UMNO/BN-led government that had borrowed excessively each year. The Auditor General's Report released on 25 October 2010 cautioned Putrajaya that the national debt to GDP ratio has breached the 50% mark for the first time in our history.

Malaysia government's debt for 2009 rose to RM362.39 billion or 53.7% of GDP. The level of national debt in fact worsens under the stewardship of the current Prime Minister. The government undertook 19 bond programmes with a combined value of RM58.1 billion in 2010.

On 14th December 2010 Bank Negara Malaysia announced that the government will launch 29 additional bond programmes in 2011. RHB Research Institute estimates that this will involve a combined value of RM83 billion of new debts to be undertaken by the Federal Government.

Therefore, the Prime Minister's criticism in rejecting Pakatan's 100-day reform program should be viewed in this perspective. Malaysia is en route to bankruptcy at the rate that it is raising debts to fund UMNO/BN's addiction to wasteful spending and corruption that is endemic in the crony capitalism structure that it props.

The public is generally privy to such examples of excesses are well known to the people. Instead of providing homes to the poor and young people, the Prime Minister is more obsessed with his 100-storey tower costing RM5 billion. The UMNO leadership will scream bankruptcy each time Pakatan fights for better pay for the teachers, yet it has no qualms to pay RM77 million for a one year contract to APCO. The list is endless.

Thus, the first action of a Pakatan Federal government is to announce an all out war against corruption at all levels in the government, starting with the political leadership. This will save an amount of RM28 billion for the national treasury as estimated by the Auditor General, believed to have been lost each year due to corruption and leakages.

Next, a Pakatan Federal Government will restructure the national subsidy system to abolish corporate subsidies that had bled the people and enriched only a few cronies. The RM19 billion of subsidy to IPP borne by PETRONAS each year will be reverted to the national treasury. Similarly, we will undertake an overhaul of the toll concession system to return the RM4 billion's worth of compensation paid to concessionaires back to the national treasury.

These two quick actions will yield an additional RM51 billion financial muscle for a Pakatan Federal Government to implement our 100-day reform programs, whose cost is only a third of the amount:

1. The new RM500 a month teaching allowance for teachers and educational officers will cost RM3.2 billion annually

2. Our guarantee that fuel subsidies will be maintained for lower income group will involve a restructuring of the subsidy system, so that only the lower income group enjoys fuel subsidy. The cost estimate for maintaining fuel subsidy under a restructured subsidy system is RM4 billion annually

3. Pakatan Federal Government will continue to subsidise LPG, at an estimated cost of RM4 billion annually

4. The restructuring of the toll system under PLUS is expected to cost RM23 billion, based on the current offer made by Khazanah and EPF. The additional cost to acquire minority shareholders is approximately RM8 billion.

The additional cost required to fund Pakatan's 100-day programs is only RM19.2 billion, an amount equivalent to the existing corporate subsidies fed to IPPs each year. This is a pittance compared to the RM51 billion stolen from our national economy to keep the cronies afloat and fat.

The other people-centric programs such as free water and free wi-fi schemes have been implemented in Pakatan states. This has been proven to be viable and sustainable.

The onus is for the Prime Minister to come up with a complete explanation of his reluctance to implement these programs, when rakyat knows that we can afford it. It is utterly irresponsible to continue piling debts for future generations to bear but refuses to utilise the money for the welfare of the people.

Karpal wants CJ tried over 'bribe' remark

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 03:29 AM PST

Senior lawyer Karpal Singh today filed a judicial review application against Chief Justice Zaki Azmi over his alleged admission that he had once bribed court officials. Karpal, who is also Bukit Gelugor MP, is seeking a mandamus to compel Zaki to explain the matter and have him brought to the Judges Code of Ethics Tribunal. He is also seeking a court order to prevent Zaki himself from determining the merits of the complaints against him. In his application, Karpal said that under Section 5 of the Judges Ethics Committee Act 2009, the proper authority to hear complaints against Zaki would be a retired chief justice or retired federal court judge. www.malaysiakini.com

Queensland Flood Crisis ~ My sympathies and condolences to the victims.

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 05:28 AM PST

It saddens my heart to see the natural disaster in the form of rising floods that is destroying major parts of Brisbane and other major cities and townships in Queensland, South West Australia.

The City of Brisbane is fast turning into a ghost town as vast areas of Queensland's capital city is being cut off by flood waters that are now reaching 4m plus and expected to peak at 5.2m above sea level.

12 people are already confirmed dead and as many as 43 persons have been reported missing as cars with occupants in them are swept away by rushing torrents and all kinds of flood debris are crashing against the bridges and roads are being inundated with thick, swirling brownish river flood water.

Large numbers of neighborhoods and suburbs are now inundated and residents evacuated to relief centres which are quickly filling up with refugees. Queensland Police are chasing off some people who are trespassing into abandoned properties and one stubborn kayaker has been arrested after he refused to listen to their warnings to paddle away.

Store owners such as Gaurab Bansal have been giving away foodstuffs worth more than AUD$8000 to flood victims rather than allow such perishable items to go to waste or get spoiled by the rising flood waters.

Food supplies and fresh drinking water are running low. It is still raining every now and then and vast sugarcane plantations have now been destroyed by the floodwaters.

Economic losses are estimated to be more than AUD$10 billion and rising. ABC journalists are likening these floodwaters as an inland tsunami wreaking havoc into the Australians lives and destroying properties that is now said to be the worst natural disaster in Australian history!

Australian Prime Minister Julia Gillard is visiting flood relief centres and giving support and encouragement to devastated citizens. The Australian Government  has started paying out more than AUD$17million in flood relief payments to those who have lost everything they had and need assistance just to weather the horrifying flood onslaught!

115,000 South East Queensland homes are now without power and inundated. Those without flood insurance are lamenting their loss and aghast seeing their homes going to waste. The Brisbane River is now measured at 4.12meters and expected to peak at 5.2m at 0400 Australian Eastern Time.

The Australians are fearing the recurrence of the highest level 1974 floods which saw many homes and neighborhoods submerged and totally destroyed.

E-coli has been detected in Chinchilla water supply and the fear of the outbreak of infectious diseases especially the lethal disease such as dengue fever spread by the Aedes mosquitoes.

Local authorities are getting to be quite concerned about the emotional toll that is starting to affect many flood victims who are seriously affected having lost their properties and starting to worry about their uncertain future?

Even reptiles such as this large snake is forced to seek higher grounds and in its case here coiling itself around a fencing pole. Not a very comfortable position and it won't be able to hold on too long.

Former Australian Premier Kevin Rudd lent a helping hand to his neighbors and waded through flood waters advising residents to get out while they still can and to respond when he comes later to help evacuate them.

True politician. :) He ought to be suitably dressed for braving the floods, shouldn't he? That business shirt is surely a no no in flood situations.

He could probably put on those fly fishing waders which would protect himself from all those nasties that come together with the obnoxious waters. Creepy crawlies and raw sewage plus all other types of harmful contaminants that will wreak havoc if his antibodies are not quite up to mark?

Being helpful is one thing. Being flood savvy is another, don't you agree? It would truly be a bummer if Mr. Rudd comes down with a vicious fever and gets sick due to being exposed to such dangers?

Protect yourself sir and make sure that you are well equipped to go through the flood waters.

I pray that the Australian people suffering this calamity will take adequate precautions and see to it that their loved ones are well taken care of and protected in these testing times.

Ameen.

Tentang Isu Debat / On the Debate

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 03:35 AM PST

12 Januari 2011

Ianya masih belum terlambat.

The ability and tenacity for debate is the hallmark of good governance, leadership, and democracy. The measure of a leader's conviction and belief in his or her policies lie in the willingness to advocate, defend, and argue his or her case publicly. This is particularly true in Malaysia where free media and transparency are lacking, and where the Government appears to avoid debating certain policies even in Parliament itself. So, in light of Dato' Sri Najib Razak's statement that it is unnecessary for the rakyat to decide between the policies of BN and PR further illustrates arrogance and condescension towards the right of the rakyat to hear arguments from both sides. The rakyat yearns to know the facts. The right thing to do would be to accept to debate on this most important of policies for the nation. It is not too late.

Malaysian Student Is Tops Again In Singapore - By Sharin Shaik.

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 03:34 AM PST

For the third year in a row, a Malaysian has become a top scorer in the island republic, with Chia Pei Yun scoring 10 A1s in Singapore's GCE O-level exams.

The 16-year-old student of the St Nicholas Girls' School (SNGS) loves to read, practise handicraft and play the piano.

Chia, from Damansara Utama here, said she was a down-to-earth person and a "normal teenager" who was often on Facebook in her free time.

The Asean scholar managed to score As in Mathematics, English, English Literature, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Geology, Huma-nities, Malay and Chinese.

According to Chia, she managed to achieve her excellent results through perseverance in revising throughout the year.

"This helped me relax when the exams approached," she said in a telephone interview.

Chia said she was focused and determined in her journey towards achieving the position of top scorer in the GCE O-level exams.

"When I am away from home, I miss my family a lot but I do not let my feelings get in the way of my studies," she added.

According to SNGS principal Chan Wan Siang, Chia was a hardworking girl who was always positive and willing to learn.

"Pei Yun loves music and was a level coordinator in the school choir," she said.

Chan is proud at the school's achievement in having top O-level scorers for three years in a row.

2011 Index of Economic Freedom - Malaysia

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 04:48 AM PST

"Corruption and a judicial system that remains vulnerable to political influence pose significant challenges to the economic freedom of Malaysia." ~ The Heritage Foundation ~

For over a decade, The Wall Street Journal and The Heritage Foundation, Washington's preeminent think tank, have tracked the march of economic freedom around the world with the influential Index of Economic Freedom.

What is economic freedom?

Economic freedom is the fundamental right of every human to control his or her own labor and property. In an economically free society, individuals are free to work, produce, consume, and invest in any way they please, with that freedom both protected by the state and unconstrained by the state. In economically free societies, governments allow labor, capital and goods to move freely, and refrain from coercion or constraint of liberty beyond the extent necessary to protect and maintain liberty itself.

The World Top Ten Ranking for 2011 Index of Economic Freedom are:

(1) Hong Kong  (2) Singapore (3) Australia (4) New Zealand (5) Switzerland

(6) Canada (7) Ireland (8) Denmark (9) United States (10) Bahrain

Malaysia No. 53
The averarage total score for Malaysia has increased by 1.5 points to 66.3 out of 100 points ranking 53 out of 179 countries rated for year 2011.

However the biggest drop in points for Malaysia are the score for "Freedom from Corruption" dropping 6 points from 51 in 2010 to 45 for the 2011 Index.

"Corruption is perceived as present. Malaysia ranks 56th out of 180 countries in Transparency International's Corruption Perceptions Index for 2009, a drop from 2008. The law provides criminal penalties for official corruption, but it has not been implemented effectively, and officials engage in corrupt practices with impunity. The media have reported numerous cases of alleged official corruption."

The next biggest points loss are for the rating on "Property Rights" dropping 5 points from 55 in 2010 to 50 in 2011 citing weakness in the judiciary that is subject to political influence.

"Private property is protected, but the judiciary is subject to political influence. Corporate lawsuits take over a year to file, and many contracts include a mandatory arbitration clause. Despite plans to ratify the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Copyright Treaty and the WIPO Performances and Phonograms Treaty, complaints about lax enforcement of intellectual property rights persist, and the manufacture and sale of counterfeit products have led to serious losses for producers of consumer products and pharmaceuticals."

Bapa terharu terima bantuan sekolah anak

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 01:34 AM PST

Norutul Ilham | 12 Jan 2011

Najib refuses to debate – no confidence in his own numbers, policies, record (aka, chicken)

Posted: 12 Jan 2011 01:29 AM PST

Najib on Anwar's challenge to a debate:

Najib did not refuse outright the challenge to debate but questioned the point of such an exercise.

"If we want to debate, there must be an outcome from the debate.

"I do not see one and what is important is public opinion," he told reporters

OO

The only part that he got right is that 'what is important is public opinion'.

If you ask me, public opinion is that his refusal to debate means Najib is chicken.

His "there's no outcome" reasoning is proper bullshit. What he means is "there's no outcome in which I will benefit politically from".

If Najib is confident in his policies, his numbers, and his administration, a public debate is the perfect avenue for him to put Anwar in his place.

Him not wanting to step up to the plate just substantiates all the criticism about corruption, economic numbers that don't add up and a complete disregard for the freedom of information.

Sexual chemistry from agony to ecstasy. Let’s talk about sex “Relationships and Dating Super Sexy Arab Teen Erin Show Off Some Serious Legs

Posted: 11 Jan 2011 11:20 PM PST

If your bedroom's turned into the bored room, try laughter therapy. We bring you the prescription.

You know it's time to sex up your… umm sex life, when the passion goes out of fashion and action between the sheets is more about yawns than yearning. And no, we aren't recommending aromatherapy or aphrodisiacs, candles or cushions, toys or technology. Just a healthy dose of laughter, which can take your sluggish sexual chemistry from agony to ecstasy.

How does laughter engender romance and love? "Laughter does not mean you've got to clown around or play the joker," says Dr. Prakash Kothari, one of India's most renowned sexologists, "The whole idea is to lighten up and treat sex as a journey where the pleasure is in the travel rather than the arrival. If you use your partners as sleeping pills, sex will eventually cease to hold any interest. Get adventurous and innovative. Like placing mirrors imaginatively and checking yourselves out while you warm up to the act. Be creative, not kinky."

Her name is Erin, she is 19 year-old and as you can see this Arab babe is hot as hell. If you have anymore info on her or pics/vids then drop a line with an attachment toGutterUncensored@yahoo.com ASAP. It would be a same to cover all her goodness under a burka. She just might be the hottest Arab chick you will see this weekmonth. Enjoy!  Click on pictures to enlarge.

Laughter, say studies, is a definite mood upper for intimate moments. Media professional Sharmila Gupta*, who recently celebrated her twentieth marriage anniversary, says, "Laughter revs up therelationship and takes that special moment into the fourth gear immediately. Teasing smiles, uproarious shared laughter or muffled giggles are the stuff bedroom moments are made of."

But while laughter could be the bind that strengthens sexual bonds as one grows into the marriage, does it perform as much when hormones and horniness are, anyway, high? Responding to this is the just-married emcee and popular TV personality Craig Gallyot, who says: "The biggest high of being married is that you don't have to hide your kinky fantasies from society anymore. They're all yours to experiment. We pick and choose our positions, and then double up with laughter as we struggle, contort and distort! Jokes and banter give way to sexual flirting and then it's action time, folks!"

Even those in a relationship declare that cackles and chuckles heat it up for them. "Who wouldn't like some sexy humour in bed?" asks Alistair Mendonca. "It definitely helps relax and get into the mood. Jokes and games increase the time spent together instead of just getting down to the job and then hitting the sack. It also gets the blood rushing to all the right places," adds the 29-yr-old IT engineer, who's in a steady relationship.

For young corporate executive Reshma, even the brush of a feather against her skin amps up the "sack session". "Bedroom humour", she declares, "is one of the biggest turn-ons."

So, if you've hit some kind of a dead-end in matters physical, may we suggest a good roll on your sides before that roll in the hay!
According to the Kamasutra, there are 64 types of sexual acts one can try during lovemaking. They vary, of course, from being complex muscle movements to soft, sexy postures. Have you ever wanted to try all of them, and wondered, at the same time, if there is one meant specially for you?

Technically speaking, sex is a weird peculiar thing: we have two people sitting in positions that seem to defy the gravitational laws, puffing and moving rapidly while they are exchanging fluids. Sex can, in fact, become fatiguing and unpleasant as it equally is satisfying and beneficial.

The more creative you are and the more you try to create a pleasant atmosphere in bed, the better you will feel, because you will be able to communicate positive feelings to your partner. If you count among those who have sex for pleasure and if everything happens naturally and thanks to your body anatomy, good for you! But if you or her have certain weight issues and you cannot really afford to try any wild stuff in bed, here are some of your options: some sexual positions for different types of silhouettes:

Position #1 If you are both confronting some unwanted kilos, you can try the following: she lays on her back and easily bends her knees, and you stand between her legs and raise them during penetration. Another suitable position for you is the doggy style, which in general is a pleasant one for both partners.

Position # 2 If you have an optimal weight, and your partner is very voluptuous, she will stand on a side, while you raise her leg to the chest level or as much as her flexibility allows her to. Then gently slide towards her and hold her leg while penetrating her. Also, you can stand in front of your partner, whose legs dangle over the edge of a bed or some other platform like a table; with your partner's legs lifted towards the ceiling and resting against you, this is sometimes called the "butterfly position". It can also be done as a kneeling position.

Position # 3 If she has the optimal weight, and you are overweight, sit on your back, while she stands above you with her face oriented towards your legs. Bend your knees, while she moves standing on your knees. This position is called the "reversed cowgirl".

Position # 4 If you are very different in terms of height, the "spoon position" is the ideal one for you. You both have to sit on a side, with you being behind her. You will enjoy some rather cool moves as this position is extremely intimate, pleasant and suitable to any body type.

Nevertheless, the most important thing you and your partner should keep in mind is that there are no strict rules in bed; you should give yourself to your partner and receive her affection as you please, letting your imagination run wild. There is no similar feeling to that of giving and equally receiving pleasure from the person you love.

DEFINING RELATIONSHIPS
BY MUNIRA LEKOVIC EZZELDINE, NOVEMBER 28, 2010

Altmuslimah's October roundtable, "Relationships and Dating in the MuslimCommunity," sparked a fascinating discussion on the very use of the term "dating" to describe courtship among Muslims. In this article, contributor Munira Lekovic Ezzeldine explores the issue in detail.
The word "dating" has long been a taboo in the Muslim community. From an early age children are reminded that Muslims don't date and that dating is "haram" (prohibited). I remember receiving these messages as a child from my own parents and as I became a teenager, I had to explain to friends that I couldn't go out on "dates." Having a boyfriend was not even an option and even receiving a phone call from a boy to get a homework assignment was met with interrogations from my parents. Like many of the youth today, I continued to abide by my parents rules and just held onto the dream that one day I would get married and everything would be perfect.

However, exactly how I was going to get married was not discussed. My mother told me of herarranged marriage to my father and how it all just happened, reassuring me that my husband was "written" for me – "it is all in God's plans so don't worry, it will just happen." I continued to believe in this magical destiny well into my college years. I finally met a young man I was interested in marrying, but I had no idea how to navigate the experience and found myself lost and confused. This type of idealistic thinking leading to confusion and even rebellion continues to be prevalent in our community. Every Muslim is raised with the idea that they will someday get married, but prior to that there can be no interaction with the opposite gender. Well, this makes meeting the person you are "written" for and getting to know him or her for marriage nearly impossible.

Out of a fear of western values that accept pre-marital sex, the Muslim community has become paralyzed when approaching the issue of dating. However, many Muslim youth have abandoned the notion of no dating and have chosen to date behind their parents back instead. Other Muslims have accepted that there is no dating and have completely abstained from interacting with the opposite gender. Yet, others are frustrated at how difficult it is to meet Muslims and instead choose to date and marry a non-Muslim because it's easier to "get to know" them when so many restrictions are not in place. Today many youth are wandering around, feeling confused and discouraged about how to approach marriage and how to get to know others while simultaneously seeking to maintain their Islamic values. Parents and community leaders have established the boundaries between genders, yet they have not given practical advice. The lack of direction is leaving young people frustrated and susceptible to the western cultural norms all around them.

The Qur'an reminds Muslims to avoid fornication in Surat Al-'Isra' "And do not approach unlawful sexual intercourse. Indeed, it is ever an immorality and is evil as a way" (17:32) but it does not give specific instruction on how Muslims should go about finding a spouse. The wisdom we take from this is that our faith identifies the boundaries for us, but it is up to the individual to pave his or her individual path within those parameters. We, as a community, need to reconcile the best way to get to know others for marriage particularly in the times we are living in. Throughout history and the world, most marriages were arranged marriages and only in the past 100 years has the process of getting married changed into what today is called dating. "Dating" in today's culture has become a frivolous activity with no intention of marriage usually leading to pre-marital sex, but it wasn't always like this. Throughout history, with the exception of modern times, courtship was seen as a bridge to marriage. In the early 1830's to 1900's the U.S. evolved out of arranged marriages and developed the process known today as "courting." According to Webster's dictionary, "courting is to engage in social activities leading to engagement and marriage." It is a sexually abstinent relationship, with parental involvement, allowing two people to learn about one another for marriage within the context of honor and respect for one another.

According to this definition, courting may be a viable alternative for Muslims who do not want to go the route of an "arranged marriage" nor the route of modern "dating." Of course, courting sounds completely old fashioned when placed in the current cultural climate. On the other hand, it may even sound too much like "dating" to many in the Muslim community who can only accept arranged marriages or a strictly controlled process. However, Islamic courting may be the natural progression that needs to take place in our community in order for Muslim youth to get married without engaging in frivolous or harmful activities as well as being keenly aware of their Islamic values.

I know there are readers who at this point may be astounded that I am suggesting a less restrictive alternative, but honestly I believe it is time for us to consider options. "Islamic courting" is not an arbitrary activity. It has a purpose – two people taking time to determine compatibility for marriage with the full awareness and support of their parents.

In order for young Muslim men and women to have the freedom to court within Islamic guidelines, there must be basic principles in place. First of all, only people who are ready to be married should consider courting. Islamic courting is not a frivolous activity and should only be engaged in by two individuals who are serious about and ready for marriage both emotionally and financially. Self-control and modesty in speech and actions must exist in order for respect to develop. If there is an intention for the relationship to be maintained, it is important to be aware of the consequences of immodest behavior and a lack of self-control. The Qur'an reminds us:

Tell the believing men to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts. That is purer for them. Indeed, Allah is Acquainted with what they do. (24:30)

And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands' fathers, their sons, their husbands' sons, their brothers, their brothers' sons, their sisters' sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed. (24:31)

Modesty for both young men and women has slowly eroded in today's society and combined with a lack of self-control has led to pre-marital sex. Parents must reiterate to youth the virtue of modesty as a guard not only to their desires but also as a form of self-respect and how they want to be treated by others. It is immature to think that you can simultaneously show respect and a lack of self-control toward someone you may want to marry. The maturity required to engage in self-control is a prerequisite to the courting process. Yet, I am confident that this is possible because it already happens between young men and women on campuses and workplaces throughout the U.S. The same respect that is given in those settings to non-Muslim and Muslim colleagues can and should be easily carried over into a social relationship with a Muslim.

I believe that if our young men and women were raised with a view that the goals of Islamic courting are to determine compatibility for marriage through a relationship defined by respect and self-control, it would be successful. This would require that families are open to learning about and meeting possible suitors and having open communication with youth about the boundaries of a relationship as established by the family and Islam. Islamic courting would allow individuals to develop friendships as they learn about each other's character and they would also understand the responsibility they have to guard each other's hearts until the outcome of their relationship is known. Islamic courtship would encourage interaction and friendship between young men and women as well as the entire family. This shift in thinking would require eastern cultural customs to be accommodating and accepting of a new way to meet a spouse.

I challenge our community to be objective and consider being reasonable and realistic with our young men and women. Teenagers in high school should not be courting, however, college-aged and beyond are within the scope of an "appropriate" age. Parents should not create unnecessary hardships or frustrations by being overly concerned with temptation in situations where risks are low and both young people are on their guard. Parents should use discretion and maintain an open relationship with their children throughout the process. Specifics of when and under what conditions the couple will see each other are conversations parents and young people should discuss and agree upon. The couple should be able to speak privately, but in a setting where risks are lowered. This could mean in a public space like a coffee shop or in a home where parents are in the other room with the door open, but not intrusive or eavesdropping on the couple. Activities during courtship should also include family-oriented activities where the couple can have an opportunity to engage and interact within a family setting and get to know each other's families better. This would allow the family members to develop a friendship with the potential spouse as well. Specific activities, such as going out together to public places, talking on the phone, chatting on the computer, etc. would be areas that parents and their children need to discuss and mutually agree upon based on their family values. Ultimately, keeping the relationship in the "open" is more beneficial to the couple as well as their respective families.

I challenge our community to engage in conversations around courting and dating. We must examine our fear of the word "dating," and re-define the process for our Muslim youth. Dating does not need to mean frivolous outings that lead to pre-marital sex. Dating for Muslims can revert back to the original meaning of "courting" and it can evolve into "Islamic courting." If our youth are taught from an early age that Muslims of marriageable age engage in courting, rather than dating; this will give youth a clear picture of how and when to navigate the road to a marital relationship. Conversations between parents and youth need to take place and need to be filled with love and understanding as they embark on the next step toward adulthood. My hope is that we as a community begin to realize that marriage won't just "happen magically." We must tackle these tough topics and provide our youth with a realistic process for getting married.

I applaud the authority to charge the five policemen involved in assaulting and trying to 'frame' a businessman who was detained in a road block some time back. Charging these men may send a signal that others should not attempt what these few men have done, but this may not be enough to change  the rot that has set in.

For those of us living in PJ, this incident is so near us that it can actually happen to anyone of us. The fact that this  businessman has gone through hell and this hell can actually happen to anyone of us makes me feel so helpless and i shudder to think what will happen if we are the ones.

I must say that this case has strengthened my belief that the much touted IPCMC must be constituted and allowed to overhaul the force that is supposed to protect and ensure our safety, not the other way round!

climatic chaos

Posted: 11 Jan 2011 10:29 PM PST

Have not been bloggings these few days as I was watching the news over the CNN and also the net closely since my youngest daughter is studying medicine  in Brisbane.

This morning  i received a sms from her that the flood has hit the University, St Lucia area where she is staying, and all access is now cut off. Luckily, her hostel is on high grounds and those of her friends in lower grounds have been evacuated to their area temporarily.

Now the worry is about food, since the grocery store has run out of food.

The world is going through a phase of climatic changes; there is no doubt about it. A flood over an area as big as Texas and California combined in Australia has not been heard of in my more than half century of life; and just last month, there were snow in Victory, in what is supposed to be a summer month.

Europe and US are both facing harsh winter, which has disrupted air traffic and transportation.

Southern US states –usually sunny– like Alabama, NOrth and South Carolina, Georgia are facing heavy snow storms which has disrupted lives and travel.

Whether these climatic changes are due to global warming or not– there are many sceptics out there as there are many believers– we as the inhabitants of this globe should be more responsible towards our environment, and it is a case of better be safe than be sorry later on. Even if it is not due to global warming and the Earth is going through a climatic change like what had happened many many times before, there is really no harm to be more prudent and be less wasteful in our lives.  It is better to take steps to slow down the burning of forests, the emission of too much carbon and to inculcate a culture of less wastefulness in whatever things we do.

We should switch off whatever electric gadgets that is not in use, and reduce or recycle the use of other things like plastic and so on.. The government should encourage more green industries that use energy more efficiently and and also the development of alternative sources of clean energy such as solar and wind energy.. The next high tech advance and scientific innovation would probably be in the fields of energy, and this may be the next push for the world economy to advance further.

Aku terharu melihat komitmen TG Nik Aziz.

... kah kah kah

SPRM, SPRM, SPRM!!! cepat siasat kerajaan Selangor kerana salahguna wang kerajaan untuk solat hajat. Geng UMNO tak dapat tumpang sekaki . Jahatnya golongan PAS ...kah kah kah

SARAH PALIN Caused the Fort Hood Shootings

Posted: 11 Jan 2011 09:07 PM PST

Right after the Fort Hood shooting, the New York Times had this to say:

In the aftermath of this unforgivable attack, it will be important to avoid drawing prejudicial conclusions from the fact that Major Hasan is an American Muslim whose parents came from the Middle East.

President Obama was right when he told Americans, "we don't know all the answers yet" and cautioned everyone against "jumping to conclusions."

…until investigations are complete, no one can begin to imagine what could possibly have motivated this latest appalling rampage.

With this, those who continue to maintain that Nidal Malik Hasan's browsing jihadist sites, disdainful attitude towards infidels, and shouting "Allahu akhbar!" as he opened fire are relevant to the investigation of his motives have been thoroughly refuted (you racists).

So what did drive Major Hasan to his acts of violence? Was it, as some have suggested, post-traumatic stress disorder? Pre-traumatic since he never actually set foot in a war zone? Second-hand traumatic from listening to the accounts of his front-line colleagues?

I believe we now have a conclusive answer.

From the New York Times again, right after the Tucson shooting:

[I]t is legitimate to hold Republicans and particularly their most virulent supporters in the media responsible for the gale of anger that has produced the vast majority of these threats, setting the nation on edge.

There you have it. I solemnly conclude that Major Hasan must have been triggered by those hate-mongers Sarah Palin, Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, and all the haters at Fox News and Tea Parties filling the air with their diatribes and gunsight crosshairs.

They probably also set off those otherwise average joes Zacarias Moussaoui, John Allen Muhammad, Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab, Faisal Shahzad and Muhammad Hussain who otherwise have TOTALLY nothing in common.

Shame on you all! (I mean you hate-filled right wingers, not you unfairly smeared peace-loving religionists.)
