Solat Hajat Setiap Daerah Lantaran Isu Khusrin Munawi Dilantik KSN Selangor

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 10:39 AM PST

NOTA EDITOR: Apa dosa kerajaan Selangor?

Bab 3 LII (1) Undang-Undang Tubuh Negeri Selangor menyebut:

Tulang Besi

Kemelut Perlantikan SUK Selangor
29 Dec 2010 | Current Affairs, Personal | by admin | 18 Komen

Saya mengikuti kemelut terbaru melanda perlantikan Setiausaha Kerajaan Negeri Selangor atas beberapa sebab.

Apatah lagi, apabila menggantung ahli Parlimen, melantik JKKKP mahupun menafikan royalti negeri Kelantan, tak pernah pula UMNO merujuk Perlembagaan!

What a Bum!

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 10:32 AM PST

What a Bum!

Ego has always been the problem of mankind and somewhere it was written that EGO means to Edge God Out. What amaze me are those that call themselves man of god or visit the sacred places of worship on a ritualistic manner are sometimes the ones with the biggest Ego and recently this super Ego Malaysian has shown all his devilish traits in public either looking for attention or he thinks he is second only to God as in this Christmas greetings he wrote himself, this is what he wrote: "If thou be at peace, then God is wit thee, If there is some worry, WORRY NOT, Desi is wit Thee".

Isn't he putting himself second to God or even greater than God as shown in his trying to be poetic Christmas greetings which is full of super inflated Ego, he is telling you if you have worries don't worry he is here to be your saviour! My God! He is just second to God as if God can't help you Desi will and can! You can read the rest of his super Ego Christmas greeting which is an insult to this holy and sacred occasion HERE.

Who uses a name meaning to be of "Desire" sounding like the title for some porno movie and gets his angry, out of topic messages that promote hatred and flawed principles of righteousness that is regularly featured in an online internet news site thus degrading the site which otherwise in my opinion has quite an efficient reporting of the local political news.

He promotes flawed righteousness by questioning the right of those who does not agree to his views, he preaches democracy yet vile slander those that differ from his flimsy stand and narrow views. He questions the right to questions as in his writing published by the Malaysian Chronic "Who Art Thou" when some of us supported Nurul Izzah for the PKR election contest.

"Desire" asks "are these bloggers even card carrying members of the party?" And this clearly shows his narrow views of politics where others who are not members are not to question his party which is PKR as he declared that he is a card carrying member since 2005 and thus others who are not members have no right to question, Damn! Even umno dare not make such infantile statements like this, Look Mr.Desire, let me educate you for free and if you are a political party than you belong to the people of which you expound to serve and the people need not show you their membership card in order to question you idiotic whimsical politician who has shown not any elementary wisdom of being in politics.

How dare you question us the people of our principles in your distorted writings, how dare you who think yourself a politician goes about with your vile slander which only reflect the way you think as there is an old Chinese proverb that says "you view others as in how you would view yourself".

Vile slanders of others in his recent writing title "Mercenaries Wanted - Reward a Huge Prize" and the article as carried by the Malaysian Chronic is lowest you can get from someone who claims to be a politician as in a card carrying member of PKR. With a member like this, PKR needs no enemies and you will always notice that PKR seems to have knack for getting such good quality members, Well Done! PKR for having another fine exemplary member in YL Chong and running such a inveterate media site.

His views are narrow as he thinks that others who express political views must only join his party than they are right and have the right to be political. His vile slanders of others are a cheap shot for fame and fortune, and we have heard enough of his bragging about being the Chairman of BUM of which he can continue to sit as chair fittingly for life because nobody wants it and that most of us don't even attend any of his BUM events. Rightly and fittingly Desire is the chairman of BUM. What a Bum!

FOR THE RECORD wrt to RPK's highly inaccurate acusations of Desi

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 08:55 AM PST

I had sent off an email just past midnight to raja petra kamarudin and/or web admin of malaysia-today.com to straighten out "totally false and inaccurate" points about my role by RPK in his latest column. I don't look for fights with anyone -- I believe in civil engagement with fellow writers and readers/commenters whether here or at certain, very selective websites I read.

Following is the official email I sent FOR THE RECORD:

_______________________________________________

Below is what YL Chong wrote about me. It appears like he is going out of his way to try to bring me down for whatever reason only he knows. I don't know what I did to him to make him so full of vile. Anyway, if it is a fight he wants then it is a fight he is going to get.

NO HOLDS BARRED

Raja Petra Kamarudin

Maybe YL Chong has forgotten that when he got his hands on those Official Secrets Act documents from the MACC regarding the investigation of Khir Toyo and other matters his portal, Malaysia Chronicle, was too scared to run the story.

Chong then contacted me and I agreed for Malaysia Today to run it while assuring him I would protect the source of the documents -- which was Malaysia Chronicle and himself.

Anyhow, now he and Malaysia Chronicle have declared war on me and have decided to fight dirty and take no prisoners. In that case, since they have decided on the rules of engagement, I am only too happy to take them on...

_______________________________

I'm reprising only the above paragraphs, and if I need to comment further on other parts of your post, I reserve the right to, and I will keep malaysia-today.net posted CC malaysia chroniclesince you have made allegations that I had acted on behalf of malaysia chronicle.

My reply FOR THE RECORD:

WRT: "Maybe YL Chong has forgotten that when he got his hands on those Official Secrets Act documents from the MACC regarding the investigation of Khir Toyo and other matters his portal, Malaysia Chronicle, was too scared to run the story."

How can I forget something that I never did with respect to your reported OSA incident?

WRT: "Chong then contacted me and I agreed for Malaysia Today to run it while assuring him I would protect the source of the documents -- which was Malaysia Chronicle and himself."

WHEN HAD I EVER CONTACTED YOU regarding following up on "documents" -- I had never received any documents I had to refer to you RPK!

WRT: "Anyhow, now he and Malaysia Chronicle have declared war on me and have decided to fight dirty and take no prisoners. .."
I thought we bloggers read each other's writings and have the right to exchange views based on the principle of "Let's be agreeable in our disagreement."

Signing off: YL Chong, Desi

PS: Following is worth repeating as direct response to your allegation that I work for malaysia chronicle from its editor, Ms Wong Choon Mei,viz:

"Malaysia Chronicle wishes to state in no uncertain terms that YL Chong is not in anyway associated with our website other than as a contributor of articles that he has kindly allowed us to publish from time to time.

YL Chong is certainly not the owner of our website nor is he on our payroll.

Raja Petra Kamarddin is free to fight with YL Chong or anyone that he chooses to. However, Malaysia Chronicle will not be part of the fray or allow itself to be used in anyway.

Should in the future YL Chong writes other articles that appeal to the editors at Malaysia Chronicle, we see no reason why we should not publish it - even at risk of angering the Great RPK.

But that still doesn't make YL Chong the owner of Malaysia Chronicle or a staff of Malaysia Chronicle.

We hope Malaysia Today will publish this reply.

Thank you and best regards RPK

Wong Choon Mei"

PKR Men lose MTUC battle

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 08:16 AM PST

Syed Shahir and Abdullah Sani, well known PKR men felt the sting of loss when the duo lost their contest for the two top post of the Malaysian Trade Union Congress.

Syed Shahir
Khalid Atan received 255 votes while Syed Shahir got 213 votes

Abdullah Sani

Meanwhile Halim Mansur beat Abdullah Sani  and J Solomon with 188 votes compared to 165 and 117 votes of the other two.

Syed Shahir is a member of PKR's central committee while Abdullah Sani is PKR's MP for Kuala Langat.

Syed Shahir has been under heavy fire for putting too much emphasis on opposition politics and not enough on worker's rights.

The MTUC were badly shamed when the Government went ahead with the study of minimum wage policy without their input or egging.

The MTUC's influence on Government policy on labour ebbed after the departure of TWU president Zainal Rampak from the top post.

Zainal was famous for being made a senator.

Senior trade unionist Shafie BP Mammal said Khaldi and Halim are long-time labour activists but their lack of experience and knowledge at the top level means that they will need a bit more time to climb the learning curve.

"They can work together and it is important that they focus on the issues that have cost Syed Shahir and Abdullah Sani their seats, this is a good sign for MTUC, it is a time for change and change they must.
Shafie is president of Union Network International-Malaysia.

Blogger to sue Hamid Albar

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 07:47 AM PST

We have heard some cases where politicians and businessmen took legal action against few bloggers. Rockybru against NSTP is still pending (and he might add another should Rais Yatim files his), RPK got a few while RBF was almost hooked.

However, this new case is rather different. Its a total turnaround. A blogger is considering legal actions against a former senior minister.

Its between Akramshah Sanusi against Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar, a minister during Pak Lah's era, whom the blogger calls 'a failure and a non-performer' as a Foreign Minister and Home Minister then.

I believe he got every reasons to proceed.

Go on, bro...

Congratulations Harimau Malaysia

'Pail protest' at DBKL before taps run dry

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 12:45 AM PST

Twenty residents from the Taman Wahyu public housing scheme gathered in front of the KL City Hall headquarters today, armed with empty pails to protest threats to sever their water supply. They also carried placards that read "Don't cut water" and "DBKL victimises Indians". The group, representing 22 families, is up in arms over the final notice threatening to cut off their water supply and seal their homes at the public housing project should they fail to settle their water bills and rental arrears.

Interviewer: Give me an example of witchcraft.

Interviewer: Did they ever use witchcraft on you?

Walid Muhammad Hajj: There was one attempt.

Interviewer: How did they do it?

Walid Muhammad Hajj: Once, when I was sleeping – on the floor, not on a bed – I suddenly felt that a cat was trying to penetrate me. It tried to penetrate me again and again. I recited the kursi verse again and again until the cat left.

Walid Muhammad Hajj: Absolutely not.

Jangan diperlekeh kuasa rakyat - nanti kecundang

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 10:12 AM PST

Sime Darby shamelessly seeking retribution

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 05:41 PM PST

By Mohd Ariff Sabri Aziz

COMMENT: For a brief moment, most of us were probably reassured at the solemnness by which Sime Darby attempted to seek retribution. It lost RM2.1 billion and is seeking to recover RM430 billion. This amount must be what the forensic auditors recommended.

The RM430 billion is a pure loss through breach of duty and management negligence.

The rest of it is "operational loss" and can happen in the ordinary course of business operations. Therefore, this loss is justifiable and not subject to recovery.

I don't know what to say – you lose this amount of money, and all you can come up with is a civil suit?

How dumb can that be? Why no criminal charges proffered? Sime Darby doesn't know the meaning of corruption?

How will Sime Darby seek to prove management negligence and breach of duty? Is there some golden rule which you depart from which constitutes a breach of duty?

What does breach of duty means? Does it mean negligence?

In which case shouldn't Idris Jala, who lost many millions of ringgit through his negligent hedging, be asked to pay back the money MAS lost?

And what about Nor Yaakob, who has gone crying to see (former prime minister) Dr Mahathir (Mohamad) for fear of being booted out of Cabinet. Shouldn't he also be asked to pay back the money he lost when speculating on our currency?

There are so many examples which will readily suggest that the move by Sime Darby to recover money through civil suits is a stupid move.

How do you define breach of duty and negligence in business matters?

We find it laughable that, amidst this gargantuan loss, some people in the (Sime Darby) board of directors have no iota of shame not to resign.

(This is an excerpt from the original commentary which first appeared in sakmongkolAK47)

Wikileaks Selangor: Khalid rejects Kushrin because he has a cousin waiting

Posted: 29 Dec 2010 01:56 AM PST

For all their posturing about Ketuanan Rakyat, Pakatan sure is screwing the people royally with stunts such as rejecting a straight-cut civil servant for the Selangor Menteri Besar's relative for state secretary.

Ask anyone in the Civil Service and they will tell you that if you are a wayward somebody you would hate Kushrin's guts because he is someone who doesn't stick just to the spirit of the law but clings on to every letter passed by Parliament.

This was why, when Kushrin was Selangor State Religious Department director he didn't care that Datuk Mohd Asri Zainal Abidin or MAZA is a former mufti of Perlis when he arrested the popular personality for giving religious talks without authority in the state of Selangor.

This is also why Kushrin had no qualms about advising the Sultan that his Highness is correct in not wanting mosques to be used as political stage for anyone.

One would have thought that a Government that values transparency and accountability above all would rejoice upon receiving Kushrin as the most straight of the straight talkers as State Secretary, he would hide nothing and favour no one.

Apart from the fact that the Menteri Besar is showing unforgivable disrespect to the Sultan by refusing to man that His Highness has favoured as State Secretary. Khalid needs to remember that he is administering the state on behalf of the ruler within the context of a federation and the State Secretary is the state administration's link to the Federation.

Khalid's father did not agree to the setting up of our constitutional monarchy, none of us did, we did not have the power to agree to it, the Sultans agreed to the system of constitutional monarchy. They signed off each state's constitution and Selangor's Undang Undang Tubuh makes no provision for the Menteri Besar to choose or in any way determine who is the State Secretary.

Just to prove that I am not talking out of the wrong orifice, here is a scan of the Selangor State Constitution

Click on image for full size scan
Article 52 clearly states that the State Secretary shall be appointed by the Civil Service Commission from amongst members of any of the relevant public services.

Khalid can, of course, argue that Datuk Mohd Arif Abdul Rahman may be a more senior member of the Selangor Civil Service and should be given priority but there is a problem there.

Arif is related to Khalid and this could cast aspersions on His Highness' State Government, I am sure that the service commission had considered this possible faux pas and decided that it is best to give the position to someone that is known as a straight arrow and has the blessing of His Highness.

Recent revelations in APANAMA and Melayu Bersatu and The Unspinners indicate that the Selangor State may have indulged in activities that are openly against the laws of the land, more specifically the Public Order Act.

Whatever its critics may say, the Public Order Act is put in place to ensure peace and orderly conduct of the citizen of Malaysia and anyone who has observed world events know that peace is the foundation on which everything else is built including stability, progress, civil development and everything else.

In fact this little document indicates that Khalid may have gone beyond the boundaries that Arif himself would have been willing to cover up. Khalid's decision to officially finance street demonstrations would have put Arif, as the state financial officer in hot water.

Read the above document carefully and you will see that Khalid's actions have yet to receive the state financial officer's endorsement...

As a senior civil servant Arif would not be foolish enough to sign any procurement document that is issued for the purpose of funding or is directly related to the organisation and execution of a street demonstration, he knows that the government, whether state of federal can never be part of such an act.

Even if Arif is Khalid's relative and stooge I find it difficult to believe that he would sign the procurement papers

Unless of course the MB has him by the short and curlies...

Here are some of the things that you may find interesting;

  1. Arif is on the board of Kumpulan Semesta, the state monopoly that has been accused of being sand thieves themselves. Read it HERE
  2. Arif and Osman Omar are directors of Worlwide, a company that received RM6.5 million from the state Government for a landfill project in Sg Kembong, Beranang. The Federal Government  had already paid RM2 million for the project, why the state had to pay more than three-times more for a project that was already done is beyond us, read it HERE

Khalid's decision to officially fund the street demonstrations using state money shows is that the current Selangor Menteri Besar is incompetent to hold office as he fails to understands that the administrator of a state should not be the promoter of anarchy or street rule.

From the above document, only the Menteri Besar is implicated as it indicates that the company hired to produce leaflets for the street demonstrations were appointed by the Menteri Besar's office and the MB's Department.

Khalid is strung to dry alone on this one.

As a closing remark I want to ask this question... Do you think Azmin had a hand in this leak? after all if Khalid falls, Azmin rises.....and remember Azmin Anwar and Azizah was nowhere to be found during the demonstration...it was purely Khalid and his DAP handlers....

Perjumpaan Dalam Gelap Dgn UMNO Diteruskan oleh "Geng Perpaduang" dalam PAS

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 10:54 PM PST

“NCR” Sarawak Syndrome 2011

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 10:47 PM PST

The groundswell which will somewhat affect the balance for the Sarawak ruling BN coalition will be of course the NCR land issue. Over the past few months the subject is like taboo and opposition voices have been heard by harping continously to win the people over. It's an issue which has been repackaged to suit the mood of the people and even the courts have been listening. You know very well and the stage is set. Now what..?

Surely, the State BN will not be affected. It seems though the opposition now is not only made up " recycled faces "but has a mixture of very new, vibrant and very determined group. Their main focus is getting down to local issues and attacking the YBs and their report cards.

The  CM Taib is the main target but it is only a guise so that the BN YBs will be caught flat-footed and lay the blame on the " top man " Without a doubt some of them are using the NCR issues protect their own interests.

A little tweet from a 'nothern voice" said to audie61 and this is his very own words," After the BN convention, one of the very top leader, is very concern about Sarawak. Not sure our Sarawak leaders have adopted to the new political reality or not."

It's clear and the signals are very clear" What happens in Peninsular Malaysia will not affect Sarawak. Sarawak has too many localised issues and the the main culprit remains the selfish needs and the over powering of certain individuals and warlords who sees that their ' human property' will not and must not be compromised.

The headline NCR Syndrome 2011 will be the candidates lists for BN. NCR in this context the incumbent would proudly say we will know how to deal with NCR land and other issues and on our part there is "NO CASE REPLACING" any of us.

That really defeats the warcry by Najib,"winnable candidates" our little nothern tweet continued," najib said are they winnable candidates? two terms ago, my feedback was, it not just about winning, are they going to be good and effective salesman for BN or not, generally. Now we are feeling the effect.

Some of the YBs are so self-centred even though they have served more than three terms and giving way eventhough they have outlived their usage does not bother them. Furthermore they tend to use the grassroots to go on a signature campaign which is an overused and unrealistic way of promoting themselves to the top BN leadership.

They will say we will have the money and machinery at our disposal and opposition will not make any headway. Are they kidding themselves or just protecting their bastion. Najib and Taib knows very well that times have changed but some of these NCR YBs are but using too much of their past glories for the present situation.

Without a doubt BN can use their propaganda to their fullest and if not BN will be stupid. Pakatan will do likewise and propaganda aside its the  "CANDIDATES" which the people will tick and put in office.

Every constituency in Sarawak is unique in its own way and every team player must know what is in store and why they have chosen to stand on that coalitions ticket. Some independants are successful as they know how to win the hearts of the people in the constituency. Nothing is by luck as no one goes into a political campaign " NOT TO WIN "

BN Commander in Chief Najib has already clearly led out a deafening warcry," ITS NOT BUSINESS AS USUAL BUT BUSINESS UNUSUAL" NCR YBs SARAWAK needs to just see whether they are still relevant or wanted by the people on the ground or the party. No use clingling on to false hopes and working hard now when it should have been constantly been carried out.

Your time is up NCR YBs and there is not much use in politiking as the report cards have been seen and last minute 'cry baby' syndrome will not work. BN will not sacrifice just to please a few while the majority voices are blaring loud and clear.

Pakatan infighting in Peninsula will have little or no effect whatsover to the Sarawak local scene. It goes without saying the BN leadership from the top to the bottom must have the 'commaraderie" feeling or BN will LIVE TO REGRET.

The then VP and now Deputy President of PKR Azmin said,"If we go to an election with infighting we will surely not win. No way in the world will one win any election for that matter."

BN its clear and NCR YBs will need to just need to give it to a "BETTER MAN "   Mahathir said he doesn't particularly like the song ,"MY WAY" in an interview recently as the first lyrics are "And now the end is near " but NCR YBS should adopt it.

IT IS THEIR FINAL CURTAIN

NCR to you YBs who have outlived your stay or replaced should be thankful that you have touched the hearts of your people but now its time to move on. The people knows who will be their representative and its no use if you are not on their favourite boxes to be ticked.

My little nothern tweet ended by saying," What do we expect what they would say. All the current Ybs feels they had NCR right on the seats."

To all our readers/friends audie61 and crew wishes you all a Very meaningful New Year 2011 and may all your wishes come true. Stay Healthy and dont over politicise NCR .

Nik Nazmi: Grade C Khusrin not qualified to be state-sec

It looks like Prime Minister Najib Razak has stirred a fresh hornet's nest by trying to bulldoze through the promotion of his 'blue-eyed boy' Khusrin Munawi as the new Selangor state secretary, with dirt starting to hit the fan as both Khusrin's colleagues and critics alike expose his weaknesses.

Not only has the Pakatan Rakyat administration led by Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim vowed to challenge the appointment, Khusrin's own peers in the Selangor civil service are seething with resentment over his meteoric climb.

They claim his rise was due to "currying favor" rather than "solid qualifications" and also accused Najib of unfairness and disrespecting them for the sake of furthering his political ambitions in the state.

"Based on track record, Khusrin is not qualified. He is just a Grade C officer, but to force through the appointment, he has been catapulted into Grade A which is the grade a state secretary holds," Seri Setia assemblyman Nik Nazmi (pic above) wrote in his blog.

Currying favor

The PKR leader was sharing the multitude of feedback he has received since Khusrin's appointment was suddenly announced by the federal government earlier this week. Till now, Najib has not sought the views of Khalid, who has to be consulted as the state secretary will need to work closely with him if Selangor is to function well and prosper.

Pakatan leaders have warned they will not accept Khusrin, who is not only an Umno stalwart, but in the past two years has constantly worked to undermine their interest in favour of his own party.

"Khusrin has only completed 3 out of his 27 years service as an officer appointed at the federal level. The rest of his experience is only at the Selangor state level. It appears that his main qualification in getting promoted to State Secretary stems from his attitude in perpetually opposing the Pakatan state government," said Nik Nazmi.

"Is it possible for the Menteri Besar, the head of the state government in which Khusrin will be serving as the senior-most officer to accept and work with him? According to the state laws, the state secretary has to take an oath of loyalty to the Mentri Besar. Rightfully, the state secretary must be neutral and be able to work together based on mutual respect with the Mentri Besar for the sake of improving the state administration. Can Khusrin do this?"

Sabotaged the Pakatan administration

Nik Nazmi also pointed to various incidents or acts of "sabotage" where Khusin as the JAIS chief had deliberately undermined Pakatan leaders. At one time, fearful that renowned Islamic cleric Dr Asri Zainul Abdin may join Pakatan, Khusrin even arrested Dr Asri for preaching in Selangor without a 'licence'. The court case against Dr Asri is still on-going.

"During Ramadan, to curry favour with Najib, Khusrin lobbied to hold an Umno program at the Masjid al-Ihsan in Taman Medan. It was only because of the integrity of the mosque officials there who insisted on upholding the Sultan's decree not to politicize inside the mosques that this was prevented," said Nik Nazmi.

"Khusrin also contradicted the Majilis Fatwa Kebangsaan's decision (to allow non-Muslims to enter mosques) and for playing up the controversy over Teo Nie Ching's visit to the prayer hall at Surau al-Huda in Kajang (to present a cheque on behalf of the Selangor government). Yet, Khusrin completely closed an eye when MP for Hulu Selangor P Kamalanathan presented a cheque at the Masjid Sungai Tengi."

The minister and a Weakylicks Datuk

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 08:25 PM PST

It was around 10.30am Sunday morning, at a minister's residence in Ampang. A Datuk from Kuala Pilah arrived and was greeted by the minister who was clad in a T-shirt and a track bottom. He just finished sweating it out on the badminton court.

The Datuk entered and spent about half an hour with him. I guess the minister knew him from a senior officer serving with a Commission under his ministry, the Datuk's son.

About 11am, the Datuk was just about to leave when the Minister said aloud: "Dioghang tu semuo pembohong bosa. Jangan pecayolah!'

The Datuk then became another Assange of Wikileaks but knowing him well, he would be happy to lead anything like a Weakylicks.

So, the centre of their conversation - apart from this Weaklicks Datuk trying to re-establish an already loosened relationship - was about the accusations against the minister, his officials, his sec-gen, his ministry and this and that scandals.

A few bloggers were pinpointed. Rockybru, Big Dog, Unspinners and me are on the hit list. I believe the Weakylicks Datuk was very persistent in asking him such questions, which prompted the minister to be quite jumpy.

I wonder whether the Weakylicks Datuk got any project before he left in an abrupt manner!

Full autonomy for Sabah-Sarawak the only way

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 11:24 AM PST

From Francis Ngu, via e-mail

The federation issues will fetter the growth of a united Malaysia. It can be a united nation only when Sarawak and Sabah are granted full regional autonomy, befitting their partner status.

Australian export of LNG is only half of what Malaysia exports. In the last 10 years, Australia signed two contracts with China worth AUD25 and AUD40 billion respectively, that is RM150-200 billion.

You may draw inference from this as to how much Sabah and Sarawak contributes to Malaysia's LNG exports alone since the 1980s.

The Poison Within PKR - Part II

Posted: 28 Dec 2010 10:26 PM PST

[… continuing from The Poison Within PKR]

Gobala might have hailed from MIC, supposedly a stigma that anwaristas have been hurling at him since he spoke out against Anwar Ibrahim. That's the infantile stupidity of anwaristas. They seem to have forgotten that their very own icon and his blue-eye boy hailed from UMNO, and as another example, Chua Jui Meng was from MCA, etc.

Dismissing Anwar's critics by pointing to their original political affiliations (Gobala from MIC, Zaid Ibrahim from UMNO, etc) while ignoring those of Anwar and Azmin (and Chua JM) is childish, double-standard, not objective, self deceiving, and can even eventually lead/escalate to accusing-stereotyping people like Gobala of being a "typical Indian". Bet you that label has already been voiced within some groups in PKR.

Then, there is also a tendency to conflate or confuse Gobala's frustration or anger at being left out of the top echelon by Anwar in favour of Surendran, a new comer (member or otherwise), with the current BN black campaign against Pakatan. Thus, Gobala is being unjustly blamed as a BN mole/frog/tool whatever, out to discredit PKR.

This moronic approach is no different to the PKR self deceiving syiok sendiri (masturbatory) accusation that Zaid Ibrahim was an UMNO plant* to destroy PKR from within when he raised issues on the lack of integrity of the party polling process. While Zaid was no doubt ambitious (anything wrong with that?) and had behaved erratically, the issues he raised were legitimate, but till today has yet to be addressed and will probably never be addressed. It's such (continuous) sweeping of the dodgy-ness under the carpet that Jonson Chong has warned "the party's days may be numbered with or without a new line-up."

* note I disagree with my hero Karpal Singh on Zaid Ibrahim; I was disappointed with Karpal for saying that Zaid doesn't have a trustworthy face; that's a stupid and unworthy statement to have come from Karpal - also see my post Zaid Ibrahim - suffers no fool gladly

The truth of why Zaid or Gobala has shown such anger at PKR leadership is far more closer to home, within PKR itself, rather than from UMNO or MIC. The dodgy PKR party polling has not only frustrated Zaid and Gobala, but also several other members like Jonson Chong, Badrul Hisham Shaharin (Chegubard) and perhaps Christine Liew, and outsiders like Haris Ibrahim and RPK. Yes, even Haris had sneered at the conduct of the polls and questioned the integrity of its process.

There is a coterie headed by the trio of Anwar-Azmin-Saifuddin (both Dr's Wan Azizah and Syed Husin are just puppets) who treat other PKR leaders not within their camp or control as dangerous rivals, to suppress or keep in check. Azmin fears Zaid as a far more charismatic and capable leader, therefore the party polling took on a "life of its own" wakakaka.

Alas for Gobala, he and Loh Gwo Burne wakakaka had not only voiced their preference for Zaid but also their disdain for Azmin Ali during the recent party polls – see my previous post
Loh Gwo Burne & Gobala - one-term MPs?

While Gobala and Loh voiced their lack of support for Azmin, they were very careful to show their continuing loyalty to Anwar Ibrahim, but those two should have known better, especially Gobala who has been in PKR for 12 years. He should have realized by now that Azmin is so intimately close to Anwar that they're virtually inseparable twins – in simpler terms, Azmin is Anwar and Anwar is Azmin. So Gobala and Loh's hair splitting on their loyalty had been in vain, because the moment they showed their non-support for Azmin, in Anwar's eyes they are as useless (and dangerous) as Zaid Ibrahim.

Thus it was hardly surprising that Gobala was sidelined in the party selection of the 3 appointed (not elected) VPs. Surendran was a choice in place of Gobala to appease the PKR Indian members.

As I mentioned in my previous post, this is not about Surendran nor indeed had Surendran played any active, direct or conscious role in the churning of the poison within PKR – he's just an innocent newcomer, a convenient Nallakarupan-ish tool for the Anwar-Azmin-Saifuddin coterie.

But we would be deceitful to ourselves to ignore the fact that among PKR members, Gobala is by far more senior than Surendran, has been far more active in party events thus made far more sacrifices, and probably has more internal party support.

And haven't party seniority and living the party's 'trials & tribulations' been the Azmin Ali camp's arguments on why Azmin was far more deserving than Zaid Ibrahim of the post of party deputy president?

The blind double-standard hypocrites they are, their argument of 'no to parachutist' in the Azmin versus Zaid Ibrahim election tussle obviously doesn't apply to the Gobala or Surendran case.

Such double standard hypocrisy and Machiavellian manipulation to marginalize those members posing a threat to Azmin Ali have been the deadly ingredients which brew the poison with PKR. Recall, Nallakarupan* left the party totally pissed because he was told by Anwar Ibrahim not to contest the VP position so as to make way for Azmin Ali. Such was the poison fomented in the party then, such is the poison now!

* Nalla has aligned himself to BN because as a political animal, where could he go, after his traumatic severance of ties with Anwar Ibrahim? The DAP has a rule of not accepting anyone from its ally PKR. Thus I blame Anwar for driving him into the arms of BN.

It's ironical that Gobala, once Anwar's chief-bodek-er, who personally turun padang with his two sons and some supporters during the Permatang Pauh by-election to do the hard yards for Anwar Ibrahim, even unto embarrassing themselves with the PKR core group's habit of stopping buses, allegedly full of phantom voters wakakaka - see my post
Buses of phantom voters with water bottles - is now so full of hatred for his erstwhile hero.

I recall reading about a PKR assembly prior to the 2008 general election, where Gobala was the only member who called for three cheers for Anwar Ibrahim wakakaka, such was his fervour for his once-respected leader. I guess now it's three jeers.

Paraphrasing, hell hath no fury like an acolyte scorned, and Gobala has been venting his hellish fury at his once-adored leader Anwar Ibrahim.

What Gobala has been doing lately is certainly out of spite, anger and from a frustration he knows is unlikely to be ever acquitted by the PKR leadership. After all, it's the very top leadership which has brought about the monumental grievances and deep-rooted sense of frustration for Gobala and many others, thus those leaders are hardly the people to address the great wrong felt by those outraged by the questionable party election process - see also my post PKR party election - the horror stories continue and what Chegubard said about Anwar and Azmin.

Now, what Gobala has been doing is not right of course. But as I have advised, anwaristas (there's no hope for the anwaristas so I'm addressing my advice to reasonable thinking people in PKR) PKR members should pause and consider why this once die-hard supporter of Anwar Ibrahim, almost of kamikaze-like dedication for the so-called Great Reformer, is now attacking him, rather than continue to deceive themselves by stupidly dismissing Gobala as an ex-MIC mole planted to destroy PKR from within.

What Gobala is doing is not right, but what Anwar-Azmin-Saifuddin have done is far worse than just not right.

[to be continued …]
