Bersyukur sangat-sangat "Agenda Perpaduang" gagal.

COMMENT Last year I wrote about Malaysia's Super 30. The Malaysian Super 30 are those who champion that Bumis must get 30% of whatever they can think of. I said the target of the 30 percenters is nothing but self aggrandisement for the selected few. Now, in addition to the Super 30, we have our own Super 40, the "Superbumis". Almost 30 of them are non Malays. These are the Superbumis.
Dr Chua Soi Lek is asking the government to open up the GLCs, the Oil and Gas Industry - open up everything in the name of competition, transparency so that we will put the economy into high gear.
Very ingenious I say. But Soi Lek can't ask these to be opened without also willing to open up Chinese dominated business enclaves and fiefdoms.
So here goes. Why doesn't he call for the opening up of Public Bank to see whether the composition of Bumis there is right? Public Bank in its early days used EPF money too.
If there are Bumis there, please publish their names so that we can see whether they are the privileged bumis?
Open up Hong Leong, Berjaya Corporation, Sunway, Yeoh Teong Lay. Open up the various Chinese Hongs for us to see whether they are practicing 1Malaysia.
Open up Tanjung and the various companies owned by T Ananda Krishnan. See whether they, having leveraged on the NEP were also implementing it.
Then we shall ask what Soi Lek wants opened so that we can disembowel them alongside those in the preceding paragraph.
Help themselves first, people second
In Malaysia, there are political leaders who want to jump-start Malay control of the economy by conferring on them the green lane to economic riches.
By giving them monopolies, licenses and special arrangements to acquire shares in listed companies. These are the leaders, my fellow Malays - who bastardised our NEP.
The efforts continue today. Our political leaders entrusted in re-arranging the wealth owning structure in the country are helping themselves first and the people second.
Once up there, you draw up all those various hurdles in the forms of these and those regulations, rulings etc, to prevent ordinary bumis from participating in the economic game.
When the NEP was launched, the sources of wealth owned by foreigners were brought back into the hands of government entities. You had London Tin, Guthrie Corporation, Harrisons and Crossfield, Sime Darby and countless others.
You didn't see any individuals assigned and parked there to help themselves do you? These were put in the hands of Malaysians through government-owned entities.
Those were the early days of the NEP before it was bastardided. It wasn't the NEP any more.
We had a new economic model then. It was known by people as the Ali-Baba Economic Model. This model goes right up the upper echelons of leadership.
The royalties and each top leader had their own Baba fence to bring in money for them.
For the Malays, they have a special case of economic model - the Putera-Bumi model. Putera first, Bumi later. Not even second. Much, much later.
In 1976, (Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak's brother) Nazir was a primary school student and I recall a photograph of him and cousin Haris Hussein in class at St John's (institution).
Today of course he is the CEO of CIMB, a sad reminder of the once deceased BBMB (Bank Bumiputera Malaysia Berhad). BBMB was essentially an ATM for the political leaders who bastardised the NEP.
I am one of the earliest to dispute the suitability of NEM being incubated by a few foreign experts who don't know local conditions.
I have said before that maybe the PM asked the wrong question - How can I make my economy grow into a high-income economy? Give me a model - forget the collateral damage. So he got the standard recipe of the free market economy in the raw.
He can still have a free market economy if he asked the right questions. But because he surrounds himself with people who also think like him and not a team with a diversity of opinions, the right question weren't asked.
When I met Ibrahim Ali – I asked him how confident was he in seeing his resolutions taken up seriously by the PM?
How sure was he that his resolutions handed over to Najib amidst much fanfare are not passed on to one of Najib's numerous PAs and then relegated to the backrooms of the PM's office? The resolutions were probably spat on. He wasn't sure.
He (Ibrahim) is like the person who thinks posting a letter means the intended recipient has actual information and his job is completed.
He said he was (confident) and I said how could you monitor it? He didn't know. So I am asking his people again - are they be confident that the resolutions they passed will be implemented knowing that the PM has spent more than RM60 million to draw up a new economic plan and had numerous labs on this and that carried out?
The MCA Chinese Economic Congress (not the Malaysian Chinese mind you) is more successful because it reaffirms what the PM wants.
Whether that is good is another matter. Whether it is agreeable to Perkasa members is another thing.
But I thought Perkasa members were peeing in their pants in jubilation after getting assurances from the PM at their congress? Why don't they now openly criticise the PM, now that he is actually saying that NEPish policies are finished?
What the MCA Chinese Economic Congress is saying is more in sync with PM' thinking.
It is successful in those terms. Catching the attention of the PM. The PM must be thinking, with this support albeit from a Chinese Economic Congress he is onto something correct.
That's how the PM functions - he just needs to hear some reassuring voices fortifying his discomfiture.
Before I talk about Soi Lek, let me talk about Nazir first.
Nazir himself is a product of this bastardised version of NEP - some residual of the NEP that says affirmative action must include giving ownership to someone close to the political leadership or someone who is seen with an inherent status (such as being the son of a PM, minister etc).
On his own merits, I don't think Nazir would have made it to the top. What happened was he had the situation cut out for him and people like him. He comes from an eco system where the wealth distribution machinery depends on the wide discretionary powers of decision makers. That is why he is now the third highest paid CEO earning around RM14 million a year. Yes sir, go salivate or drown in your drool.
If I were to give a simpler definition of a bastardised NEP, it is just playing favourites.
A person holding ultimate power has the unbridled discretionary powers to appoint anyone to wealth creating sources. Capability is second.
More important is to gain access and be counted for in the leaders' inner circle. People are identified as worthy of anything by virtue of his inherited status and bloodline.
The superbumis - Indian and Chinese businessmen - recognise this. As long as there isn't a system to tweak the wealth distribution and its workings depended on the discretionary powers of people in power, they know they can profit from it.
All they needed to do is to get into the "knickers" of decision makers and they can manipulate the outcome.
Yeoh Teong Lay was just another of those numerous Chinese contractors under YTL senior who was given a head start by (former premier) Dr Mahathir (Mohamad).
Ananda Krishnan began business as an oil trader selling basically Petronas crude oil.
He made tonnes of money selling what belongs to Petronas. He then went on and on. And he doesn't want to share the wealth. That's why he turned private many of his companies that were public.
I wrote about our own efforts of creating the Super 30.
Bumiputeras holding 30% of equity in business organisations notably the listed companies and those companies wanting to be listed. So selected Malays were given shares either free or 100% financed in listed companies.
The PM once stated that the value of shares given to Malays from 1970 was RM54 billion. The figure is now RM2 billion which means that the Malays who got the shares cashed out early.
Put simply, these are the saboteurs of the NEP. I have suggested that the names of all those who sold out be published and never to be given any economic concessions forever.
The government has of course declined. Probably they didn't even read the article.
Besides our own Super 30 consisting of the puteras in the Bumiputera, the sons of Umno leaders, the cronies of leaders, the well heeled and well connected, the fixers, we have also created another economic caste - the Superbumis.
You can actually buy yourself a bumi status and acquire the paraphernalia that confer you a status better than real toiling bumis.
You get showered with titles of Tan Sri, Dato Seri, buy yourself a Datukship and have all the kampong folks grovel at your feet.

The PKR Sarawak State leadership has more or less confirmed two Bidayuh leaders who will be taking on the might of the BN in the Bidayuh hinterland. The occasion this evening was attended by over 400 supporters and leaders from in and around the Bau area. Dr Jeffrey Kitingan was the spokesman as Zaid Ibrahim flight was delayed and could not make it in time for the function.
The two potential names who were presented to the supporters tonight were those of Mexlian Gombek and Dr. Christopher Kiyui. Dr Chris will be fielded in the N18 Tebedu seat against PBB Michael manyin who is also the Minister of Communications and works. Mexlian will be fielded to take on strongman of SPDP Peter Nansian Assistant Minister of Evironment at n2 Tasik Biru constituency.
Both of them when met by audie61 tonight at Bau were upbeat of their chances of being chosen as PKR candidate as they have both been working very hard on the ground and carried out election programmes and are ready anytime to go against the BN machinery.
They both said if they are chosen by PKR they will be confident in giving the BN some sleepless night and might just surprise the BN candidates. Its the PEOPLES POWER to choose and they even said if they are not good enough its the Peoples right to change them in the next elections. No one is indispensable and they mean what they say.

Never in the history of Malaysian law has there been this much forehead-slapping.
Never before have so many eyes rolled collectively in exasperation and annoyance. In fact, the vortex caused by all that eye-rolling is probably contributing to the formation of a tornado in Kansas or New Mexico right this very moment.
The credit goes to one man - Abdul Razak Musa, a specimen of certifiably limited intelligence, who represents the MACC over the Teoh Beng Hock inquest.
I wasn't in the courtroom, so I had trouble believing the Malaysiakini report, but according to some of my sources who witnessed the shenanigans first-hand, the following events actually did happen.
He began by trying to smear the forensic pathologist Pornthip Rojanasunand's credibility as an expert witness. According to my sister the lawyer, this is an accepted practice in persuading the judge to dismiss the witness' opinion.
"Did you know that the university that you graduated from is not recognised in Malaysia?" Abdul Razak Musa, the dumb fool asked.
To that, Pornthip answered, "But it is in the top five in Asia."
If he had done his homework properly, he would have known that it isn't in the top five. It is either the seventh or eighth. I checked.
It is, however, a very embarrassing point as no Malaysian university comes even close. Somehow I think that point was lost on him.
If someone had told me this was going to be a cross between the Jerry Springer show and a PT Barnum circus, I would have taken the day off and gone to watch. These days you can't get this sort of entertainment for free.
Our hero went on to suggest that Teoh had strangled himself and even went as far as to demonstrate this on himself.
If you thought nothing could possibly be worse than that, you would be wrong. For the grand finale, Abdul Razak Musa asked Pornthip if she had any experience jumping off a building.
The mainstream media however, managed to sanitise their version of it, so the entire proceedings actually appeared sane.
How I pity those stalwart supporters of the mainstream media. They have no clue what they've missed.

hey you have damaged asshole time to resign
The resignation of Attorney General will brings to a close a bitter standoff between the Barisan and Pakatan over the attorney general's loss of personal credibility and integrity with lawmakers.
Ghani has long been one of Mahthir's most trusted advisors, first during his tenure as Prime Minister and later as ex-Prime Minister.
It is with great hope that we see the Sessions Court showing independence and fairness in dispensing justice,
just when the High Courts and the so called Superior Courts have failed and disappointed us, countless times again and again. An indictment of the failure of the superior courts could not be more damning than a recent statement from the former Justice NH Chan in describing Augustine Paul as an obnoxious man who was not fit to be called a judge. In NH Chan's mind, Augustine Paul was a transgressor of the law and thus violated the oath of his office.
The same should therefore be said of men like Musa Hassan, Gani Patail and now Abu Kassim for violating the oath of their offices. Enough ugly things have been said of Musa Hassan – Mattress Carrier and Fixer, but nothing more damning than when he tried to sway the court against the witnesses who had spoken in favour of Dato' Ramli during the Sabah case.
This is the last of the series of cases leveled by the Unholy Trinity of the AG Gani Patail, the IGP Musa Hassan and the MACC.
As a matter of national shame
A traitor is a traitor, with or without a uniform.
The scope of the Attorney-General's powers in Malaysia has long been a subject of debate and controversy. He is the chief legal adviser to the government and is responsible for advising ministers involved in legal proceedings in their official capacity related article why Gani Patail high ranking officier AG office was not CHARGE for not reporting the crime this is the blunt misuse of power

Anwar Ibrahim's sodomy trial the defence raised discrepancies over the charges framed and accuser Mohamad Saiful Bukhari Azlan's testimony yesterday Remember that infamous judge from Sodomy 1 ? The lawyers want the law to be applied in this trial? Don't the lawyers know what happen in sodomy 1 ? And what do you think will happen in sodomy 2 ? Correct Anwar will go to jail! All the lawyers can do is prolong the case.If that bugger Augustine Paul was still alive and the judge for the case, he would say it is irrelevant whether there is consent or not.readmore
In buggery , consent or not , it is still buggery the learned judge would declare. As long as Anwar does it , it does not matter who he sticks it to whether it is Saiful or Azizan. The time or the place is all irrelevant as far as the case of sodomy is concerned. Anwar did it before. Anwar did it again. Anwar will do it again, and again and again till he can't get it up. Then the saga ends. Stupid lawyers and judges are sodomising the courts of justice in this country.

The two interpretations of criminal conspiracy could not have been more different: ultra liberal in the case of Advani and stretched in the case of Pandher. Neither interpretation seems justified in the given facts and circumstances. Both the interpretations raise questions about the rigor and detachment with which the judiciary at all levels performs its job. One way of coming to terms with this distinction is to re-adopt the outdated notion that king could do no wrong. Going by his logic The battering ram strategy projected by Anwar Ibrahim's legal team against the legal version of the 'Stonewall Jackson' tactics of the prosecution enters its latest phase at the Court of Appeal today.High Court justice Mohamad Zabidin Mohd Diah As if that were not bad enough, the statement is cheeky enough has accepted that there is a material contradiction between statements made by Saiful that the alleged sex between him and Anwar was non-consensual and the actual charge against Anwar which holds that he had consensual sex against the order of nature. While agreeing that there is a contradiction, Justice Zabidin has however ruled it did not merit compelling the prosecution to release statements and reports made by Saiful to the investigating officer. The norm in matters like this is that all statements and reports pertaining to the charge are made available to the defence once charges have been preferred.A watching public is being asked to believe that this departure does not vitiate the government's claim that Anwar is being accorded due process of the law.The script is something like this – the judge will throw DSAI (Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim) into jail and let him serve the full term. By then, Prime Minister Najib Razak would rule in peace and then after two decades of looting the rakyat's wealth, DSAI will be found innocent by an appellate court – just like in Sodomy I.
The decadence of our judiciary is glaring for all to see and witness. Before there is a total collapse of our justice system, let us all fellow Malaysians act immediately.
What Karpal Singh asked is a basic fundamental right of all citizens of the world, not just Malaysia. Yet that basic right has been denied. In other words, our human rights are being mutilated by our own courts, by our sacred institution – the judiciary.

Newsweek ranks Malaysia as the world's 37th best country and among the best in Asia, just below Japan (9) and Singapore (20) in terms of education and economic dynamism. Top three are Finland, Switzerland and Sweden (here).
I dont know how precise Newsweek's ratings are. Obviously, some Finns didn't agree with it at all, citing the domestic and social problems as criteria to be taken into consideration.
Malaysia is also listed as the eighth best in education among the upper middle-income countries. Singapore ranks top in the economic dynamism category. Newsweek attributed it to Singapore's 'manageable' size.
The Guardian said, for a country of extremes, Finland doesnt deserve such a rating. "But what about suicides, depression, alcoholism and our cold, dark winters?" many Finns protested yesterday after the announcement by the magazine (here).
"But gloating does not come naturally to us, even though Finland has topped the OECD global education assessment three times in a row. There is an underside to the educational excellence. Two bloody school massacres, in 2007 and 2008, claimed 20 lives," it added.
Meanwhile, Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh tops the ranking of the world's best leader. Read the article 'India The Best Place To Fly A Kite...' by Times of India.

KUALA LUMPUR: PKR's Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar has denied committing treachery as alleged by Defence Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
The minister had lambasted the opposition politician over her statements regarding Malaysia's submarines, which were published in the Indonesian newspaper, Kompas.
He claimed that Nurul, the daughter of Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, had tarnished the nation's image and put its security at risk.
However, Nurul begged to differ.
Speaking to FMT, she said the label "national traitor" was more befitting for a minister who abused his power and indulged in corruption.
"If it is true that the minister is a patriot, why then is he not supporting the MACC (Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission) probe on the commission paid to Perimekar Sdn Bhd for the purchase of the Scorpene submarines as stated by the Dewan Rakyat speaker on July 2.
"Is it not the trait of a true traitor who uses public coffers to pay the high costs for the submarine to the government's 'golden boy' (Abdul Razak Baginda) consulting company and to purchase equipment or the multiplied cost of projects to fill the pockets of the 'chosen ones'?" she asked.
Nurul said her comments which appeared in Kompas were based on the official answer given by the defence minister on March 17 in the Dewan Rakyat about one of the submarines not being able to dive because of technical problems.
'I am ready to be investigated'
Despite the Royal Malaysian Navy having filed a police report against her, Nurul stood by her statements.
"I am ready to be investigated and I hope that the investigations will bring to light other issues relating to the purchase of the submarines," she said.
In a statement yesterday, Nurul also pointed out that the problems regarding the submarine were common knowledge.
"In light of the image and national security of the country which have been apparently affected by my statement, I would like to bring up a statement made by the minister on the very same day who said that technical problems like this are also faced by many other countries all over the world.
"If this information regarding the status of submarines is available openly all over the world, where is the rationale with regards to my statement threatening national security?" she said.
Nurul also quoted an Aug 6 Bernama article, which revealed that the navy was only conducting its integrated navy exercise once, instead of three times, a year in order to save cost.
According to her, this was a greater threat to national security.
"What would be the reaction of the enemies if they found out that the navy only performs such training once a year. I fear for the country which has wide coastal areas to only conduct such tests only once a year," she said.
In the interview with the Indonesian daily, Nurul was asked to comment on the submarine scandal being investigated by the French authorities and was quoted as saying, "The submarine purchased by the Malaysian government cannot dive and the weaponry which was purchased has clearly expired."
The alleged corruption in the sales of the two Scorpene submarines purchased by Malaysia from the French shipbuilder DCN is currently being probed by French judicial officials.
The case was opened at the request of Malaysian rights group Suaram, which alleged that DCN paid a commission of 114 million euros (RM635 million) Perimekar Sdn Bhd, which is owned by Abdul Razak Baginda, a close associate of the Prime Minister, Najib Razak.
Zahid previously said there was no need for any investigations to be carried out by the MACC citing that the deal was approved by the Finance Ministry and was in accordance with the procurement procedures despite the revelation of the hefty sum of commission paid to Perimekar.

At least two witnesses have come forward to confirm the incidents.
The Deputy Chief of the Penang Chapter of the Malaysian Ulama Association, Mohamad Hafiz Nordin admitted to making such doa for LGE when delivering the khutbah at Hashim Yahya Mosque recently.
This is from one of the horses' mouth and not someone in the audience/jamaah who may have misheard the sermon.
What is even more interesting is that Mohamad Hafiz is former Pas Pulau Pinang youth chief.
He said the doa is to ask Allah to convert LGE to become a Muslim.
Meanwhile Umno Jelutong branch chief Abu Kassim Ismail said he heard LGE's name replacing the Yang Dipertuan Agong and Yang Dipertua Negeri two months ago at Masjid Jamek Jelutong.
After the Jumaat prayer he wanted to find the name of the khatib but strangely the khatib's name was not displayed like usual.

For the weekend, I invite my readers to view this video , about an armless youngster who use his toes and feet to do things that you and I do with our hands and fingers. (Please do not miss this video; it is really worth watching. I am glad i watched this)
Amazingly, he plays piano with his feet too. As a self learned piano player , i know how difficult it is to play piano with fingers. To play with toes is even more difficult, and this requires tremendous will power, determination and love for music and love for life!
A plant which has whethered through storms will grow into a strong tree, whereas those inside the greenhouse would find it difficult to survive outside. Those given crutches since birth should remember this fact of life, and they should be the ones realising that by given everything without much efforts, they will not be able to survive in this increasingly competitive world .
Let this video serve as a reminder to this fact. Enjoy the music.

Above from this link.
Above from Obama's Unsavoury Bunch Cartoons.
DISCLAIMER (added 23 May 2008): I don't really believe that Barack Hussein Obama is a secret Muslim (12% of those polled do, however)… Although I do think he once shallowly followed Islamic norms and rituals during his childhood in Indonesia. But it's just so fun to provoke the unholy wrath of Obamessianites! Just look at the comments!
UPDATE AUGUST 2010: Since his inauguration, his actions have caused 14% more Americans to wonder if he is Muslim!
UPDATE 8 Sept 2008: Obama slips up and says "my Muslim faith"!!!
Kudos to Infidel Bloggers Alliance for the linkage.
Obama's snubbing the American flag during the National Athem and dislike for wearing American flag lapels must have taken their toll, as he ignorantly blurted out that he had visited 57 of the 60 states:
He must mean something like this:
If you hadn't heard of it, you must have been consuming only liberal mainstream media… Old Media Ignores Obama's '57 States,' Obsessed Over Quayle's 'Potatoe'.
Fair enough, it's most likely a thip of the slung slip of the tongue by the tired incumbent… After all, he's prone to misequations of astounding magnitudes – for example, mistaking 12 victims for 10,000! See the tons of video evidence for yourself.
But wait… Obama may have been right all along. Because there really are 57 states…
Freudian slip much, Mr. Hope & Change? Hey, don't take me as the authority here – ask Obama's own track record.
This could also be an alternative explaination why Obama's pals in the Nation of Islam are so worked up over the t-shirts equating Obama to a monkey.
Because according to their theology, Jews are apes.
And there's no worse insult to them than to be called an evuuul, Zionist j00… Even indirectly!
Well, with the company Obama keeps and the kind of people who support him, it's no wonder that you start seeing this kind of message around:
But wait… Barack HUSSEIN Osama Obama mentioned that he had visited only 57 out of 60 states! What could he have in mind as being the last three?
To close, I'd like to state that I have no bias against Obama's religion or former religion.
To borrow from Daniel Pipes again:
With the addition of one caveat: If Obama really has Muslim roots, then that alone might be enough to influence his attitude towards his 'brothers in the faith' who are not necessarily practitioners of multi-cultural tolerance… As Obama has already shown with Hamas and immediate surrender in Iraq.
It would be a fitting conclusion to the glorious imperialist, expansionist, colonialist occupation of the entire West that began 461 years before the First Crusade.

My late parents were both teachers. My father was a headmaster of a school in Perak for 26 years.
My mum and family moved to Penang when I was 5 years old and she taught in a Penang school ever since until her retirement. My dad continued to head the school in Perak and he had a Austin car and he drove back home every weekend to be with us. We moved to Penang mainly because my parents thought the children — there were 3 of us , I am the youngest — would get better education and hence better job prospect later on.
I can still remember in the 60s, when i was in a primary school, there would be a few students of my mother– supposedly the weaker ones who could not understand well her lesson– coming to our house in the afternoon and my mother would give them extra lessons to make sure they understood what she had taught in school, without any charge for the students.
That was the dedication of the teachers then.. They treated the students as part of their own responsibilities, and many teachers did give extra lessons voluntarily without thinking of monetary rewards. For that, sometimes they would be rewarded with gifts like durian, chickens, etc brought to the house by the students' parents.
Such was the respect of the teaching profession then. Teachers, though not rich, were well-respected members of the community. This respect , however, was earned because of their selfless dedication to their profession. Teaching, my parents used to tell me, is not for everyone, but only for those who treat the profession as a calling, not a career.
My dad , a university graduate from China, was also well schooled in the Confucianist tradition. One of the things he told us children was the Confucian teaching that " within the four seas, everyone else is a brother". We were told to treat everyone equal, respect other people's culture and religions.
Teaching profession is one of the noblest professions. Students entering schools are like white sheets of papers. Whether these papers would turn out to be important documents, or textbooks, or comic books, or waste papers, or become totally black and dirty, depends a lot on the teachers. Teachers are said to be the engineers of our souls; they mould our thinkings ; they determine to a large extent what we would eventually turn out to be.
In the old days, even though there were a few teachers who smoked or gambled or were racists in their thinking, they would never exhibit these bad behaviour in front of their students. Even though they were black and dirty, they would still try to keep the white sheets as clean as possible, and tried not to rub their dirt onto their students.
With the change of time, teachers nowadays are very different from those 4 or 5 decades ago. There are still many dedicated ones regarding teaching as a calling, but many others have become very materialistic and treat teaching as just another career. Many despite being trained in teachers colleges, had not understood the meaning of teaching, and they have no qualm to pass their own dirt to their students, thereby making the white sheets black and dirty like they themselves.
To them, teaching is just another career, and they could not care less how their students would turn out to be, as long as they got the remuneration, which are now many times better than their counterparts many decades ago.
The recent incident in which a principal passed racist comments on her students shows the ugly side of some of these people, who have no qualm at all to hurt and insult these young minds. While a true human being should always practice the oriental axiom " respect your own elders and also the elders of others; love your own children and extend the same love to the children of others", these group of racists teachers not only would not love the young children of other people, they would even go all out to hurt their feelings. They try not only to rub their own dirt onto these white sheets, but also create holes to render such sheets into rubbish. By doing so, they have not only disgraced themselves, but the schools and the whole education system as well.
While there are many calls asking that stern action be taken against this teacher, and i think the calls are justified, we should go one step further and ask ourselves why are there such teachers in our schools.
The answer is simple. It is the system. The whole system is wrong. The system influences the minds of these teachers. The system in turn is moulded by the policies. The policies are wrong. The policies that have been in place for more than half century have resulted in a milieu in which everything is defined and determined by colour of our skin. These policies have also divided the country ; divided the people. These policies have also resulted in mediocrity and loss of excellence in almost everything we do.
Without the majority race recognising this and takes steps to correct these policies, the country will go further down the path of polarisation. But to change the views and thinking of the majority race, political will power must be there. So far, it is lacking. The present PM may have realised this, but even if his mind is willing, he may not have the clout to pull his ideas of a fairer society and his economic agenda through.
That is the sorrow of Malaysia!
