Umno saving S'gor, but from whom?

Living up to expectations, Umno's 'Save Selangor' campaign, the culmination of months of fussing over how to reclaim the lucrative state that it lost to Pakatan Rakyat in the last general election, started with a predictable platter of name-calling and insults at the current PR government. Jostling for his turn at the mudslinging was former PKR youth chief turned Umno member Ezam Mohd Nor, who launched relentless attacks against his former boss, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim.

Posted: 24 Jul 2010 09:56 AM PDT

SUPP Resignations,”Implications..?”

Posted: 24 Jul 2010 07:17 AM PDT

The sms earlier read to Natasha of audie61,"A press conference by Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP) Bengoh branch youth chief Lee Chee Fui will be held at Four Seasons hotel at 4:00pm today."
By late afternoon it was revealed that Lee with a group of party members from Bengoh Branch said they decided to quit the party SUPP. The political arena was slightly rocked similarly to the  6.1-magnitude earthquake that hit northern Sumatra this morning, sending tremors to the west coast of Peninsular Malaysia. There was also not a need for a tsunami warning.

The SUPP top leadership had already decided not to take disciplinary action against a number of the Branch members for their outspokeness and the case was considered closed.

Their boldness and actions has somewhat created a downward spiral for the Bengoh SUPP State Seat. The truth though is that there were "Disagreements and Requests" which could not be met halfway and their untimely resignation strategy might just backfire on them.

Word has been circulated to the Pakatan4 and in a telephone inteview PKR Sarawak Information Chief See Chee How said." The Coalition will  monitor the whole situation and will discuss it collectively when the need arises. There will not be any RASH decisions and we have had learnt our lessons in Sarawak and the implications it will have on the Pakatan4."

The Blade is already drawn,"It will be swung, stabbed and struck…??" Our formation in Pakatan needs to be resolute and strong to outmanouvere whatever is thrown and hurled at us. We need to stick together and agree in matters which will not divide us"

It seems that some doors are already closing for the Bengoh SUPP members but their boldness might just trigger another divison to follow suit according to our reliable source. SUPP needs to iron out these problems before the State BN Chairman decides or is ready to call for Sarawak State Elections.

Seems SUPP has triggered a "small war" to tell CM that they are not ready yet…???

You did not plan this did you…??

Ubatkan pekung sendiri dahulu, sebelum kita bersihkan kudis orang lain.

Posted: 24 Jul 2010 11:43 AM PDT

Sesungguhnya UMNO Selangor tiada kepimpinan.

Bernama dishonest or hardup reporting?

A letter to Bernama by Cheong Yin Fan
July 24 2010

**********************************

Dear Sir,

I wish to object in the strongest possible terms at your journalist's dishonest and false reporting of a statement made by Penang Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng at the MPPP Youth Park this morning on the 'Little Napoleon' Nik Ali controversy.

When asked to respond to PM Najib DPM Muhyiddin and KPI Minister Koh Tsu Koon's criticism of Lim for speaking out at the incompetence of State Development Officer Nik Ali, Lim had replied in a few simple sentences as follows – "I got the message from both Najib and Muhyiddin. That they still want to defend Little Napoleons like Nik Ali. I thank them for the message. As for Koh who was rejected by Penang voters in the last general elections his KPI now is to follow and parrot what the Prime Minister says so Koh has indeed fulfilled his KPI."

For Bernama to twist this clear but simple response into Lim accepting in good faith the reproach from both Najib and Muhyiddin is dishonest and false.

What is most shocking is the response from that Bernama reporter when I called her up to complain. She replied that she heard Lim Guan Eng clearly say 'Little Napoleon' but had left that phrase out so that the story can come out. If she had reported what I said exactly the story would not come out.

I told her firmly that we want a true statement and if that cannot be truthful then don't publish the story. She then said she would pull out the story. Bernama has pulled out the story but did not give any explanation of the background causing some online news websites like the Malaysian Insider to pick it up and publish the false news. This is most unprofessional and unfair.

And lends suspicions that the mainstream media is out to get and frame up Lim Guan Eng by any means possible.

As Press Secretary to the Penang Chief Minister I hope that Bernama explains fully such unprofessional misconduct.

Cheong Yin Fan

It's more than dishonest and false reporting. It's hardup reporting - gian kar seow - real pariah.

Guan Eng vs Nik Ali: A Common Characteristic of A Racist

This is the preamble of the MORON Justice4OTK:

ONE MALAYSIA Justice for ALL Malaysians
This blog supports all righteous politicians
(BN politicians like Khir Toyo are righteous?) from across the divide . This is a No holds barred blog and all corrupted, tainted politicians shall be exposed and ridiculed , no matter who they are (Does this include MCA and rest of the BN goons?) .

Here is more crap coming out from the Chinaman nose pricker from Penang:

Guan Eng vs Nik Ali: A Common Characteristic of A Racist

Hypocrisy of the highest order ! Its OK to criticise an UMNO CM but its No Go for a DAP CM. You cannot say anything bad at all about Guan Eng . He is above the law , he is sacred , untouchable . You can only say good things about him . All ye who criticise Guan Eng shall be chastisise and be subject to ridicule and name calling including your sons and daughters . So beware !!

They claim they are two standards or laws when dealing with BN and with the PR . Its the same here and its an eye opener when they are not yet in Putrajaya . Imagine what they will do ? Go here to see where Justice4OTK got his trash from
http://justice4otk.blogspot.com/2010/07/guan-eng-vs-nik-ali-common.html

Meanwhile Justice4OTK took an article from Utusan Malaysia (read here

I think this MORON needs to be sued too. The BN Spin Doctors appear to be on overdrive here but sometimes end up spinning a spin by themselves. LOL!

PAS Sudah Pernah Bersatu Dengan UMNO - Bagai Melepas Anjing Tersepit

Posted: 23 Jul 2010 10:55 PM PDT

Tak sampai 3 tahun, PAS ditendang keluar macam anjing. PAS telah menghayatai pepatah melayu:

MELEPASKAN ANJING TERSEPIT

'Kroni poket kosong, Umno S'gor tertekan'
Salhan K Ahmad Jul 23, 10 4:27pm

SOME TLC GOES A LONG WAY

LRemember the recent news report about the Filippino maid who became an instant multi-millionaire when her employer, Dr Quek Kai Miew, left her $S6million worth of inheritance, including an apartment in upmarket Leonie Hill, Singapore? (ST photo) The maid, now 47, had looked after her employer for 23 faithful years. During the last few years when the doctor was ill and wheelchair-bound, the devoted maid was constantly by her side, taking care of her just like a filial daughter would. Indeed, as both women were unmarried, there was a strong mother-daughter bond between the two women.

What interested me in this report wasn't the inheritance, but this line which I shall quote here from the Straits Times report: "She had relatives here and abroad, but was not close to them, except for the nephew who visited her just about every week."

This confirms what many of us already know - most people never forget those who gave them tender loving care when no one else would, especially in their time of need. And they show their appreciation (or not) when they write their will.

I quote from another news report.

"My wife had to do everything for me. She has been coping so well and is always there for me, encouraging me and ever so supportive. I don't know what I would have done without her.

"I must confess I never used to believe in celebrations like wedding anniversaries, birthdays, Mother's Day, Valentine's Day or any other special occasion. All meant nothing to me.

"But all that has changed now, and all I want to do now is to concentrate on my life, show my wife how much I love her, make her happy and share whatever time I have left with her and my family. I have been a good father, but I don't know if I have been a good husband. I want to be able to make up to my wife for the time lost."

~ Comment from a husband who is on medical treatment for liver cancer. ~

We can draw so many powerful messages from these two stories, don't you think?

UPSR and PMR

Posted: 23 Jul 2010 07:57 PM PDT

I have written last month on the need for standarised assessments      such as UPSR and PMR  in malaysia. the post was published in my column in Malaysian Insider a well as in this blog. Read here for those who miss it.

2 days ago I attended a round table talk by Sedar, which was attended by educationists  – notable professors from some of the universities, Ministry officials especially from exam board, representatives from teaching unions, retired heads of schools and teachers —  and many concerned public, including many who spoke as parents. The collective opinions of these people will be submitted in a memorandum to the Ministry.

Most spoke against abolishing the examinations, even though most are for revamping them.

I was given 2 minutes to say my piece. I quoted a personal experience.

When I was in Form 3, more than 4 decades ago, we had a good English teacher. This teacher had a private home tuition class. At that time tuition was a luxury that few could ill afford, and there was no tuition mentality among parents and students yet!

Many of us noticed that those who attended his tuition class had very good grades in the school English examinations marked by the same teacher. It could be that his tuition class was so good that even a bad student could become good. But to have this trend consistently and every year meant that there was something funny. In addition, some of those who got high marks by attending his tuition class did not have good command in English in daily lives.

In actual fact, there was this element of personal bias coming into play. The Teacher  was biased and might have subconsciously graded  those in his tuition class higher .

This personal experience, I told the gatherings, goes to illustrate one point. Personal bias will come into play in any form of assessment, be it for awarding scholarship, choosing school prefects, recruiting members into school teams, marking papers s in school examinations, and class evaluations.

We cannot escape this personal bias since we are all human, and we have certain emotions and attachments.

Our culture has not evolved to such a stage where professionalism has minimised personal bias, like in some of the countries such as Finland, and Sweden, where school based assessment is used for the first 12 years of education, and where population at large is homogenous, unlike the multiethnic and multireligiuos society existing in Malaysia.

With our diverse background, personal bias will certainly come into play in any form of school based assessment system.

We therefore need some form of standardisation of assessments of students in the form of unified national examinations like UPSR and PMR, in order to minimise personal bias, whether such bias  is ethnic-based, religious based, or just simply due to personal dislikes of certain aspects of a particular student.

By all means revamp the system; in fact the whole education system needs to be overhauled to produce thinking and innovative students. Get the educationists together, exclude the politicians and revamp the standardised assessment examinations and the whole syllabus. But

To abolish these examinations in haste will only  create more problems which will affect the future of our children as well as our nation.

“It is really a big question since the public did Ezam and Anuar Shaari pocketed George Soros US10million?

Posted: 23 Jul 2010 06:23 PM PDT

(Malaysian Digest) – Former private secretary to PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, Anuar Shaari, in a press conference today urged the three lawyers of private investigator, PI P.Balasubramaniam to immediately report their income status to the Inland Revenue Malaysia and confirm their declarations.

Anuar (pic) said the roles of Manjeet Singh Dhillon, Amarjit Singh Sidhu and Americk Singh Sidhu as lawyers are really in doubt regards to their actions lately.

According to Anuar, Manjeet has repeatedly persuaded and made offers to Datuk Nallakarupan to befriend and support Anwar. He also claimed that Manjeet had represented Balasubramaniam when the latter invited Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to London to take his statement.

He added that the three lawyers also accompanied Balasubramaniam to Paris to take a statement by the French authorities.

"It is really a big question since the public already know that Balasubramaniam is unable to survive even in Malaysia and it is impossible for him to pay the legal cost to the famous lawyer Manjeet Singh Dhillon," he said.

Anuar also questioned where the three lawyers obtained the money to help Balasubramaniam and, according to him, the answer will link them to his former superior Anwar.

"I just want them to clarify either it is yes or not since the public is seeking for their explanation," he added.

He also queried on how much money Anwar had to spend in engaging the three solicitors to be lawyers and escort to Balasubramaniam in London.

Also present at the press conference is Perkasa activist Yusof Mahmud.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein Onn told a press conference here at a post-Cabinet meeting that the developments will be monitored and that action will only be taken if the need arises. Why the double standards?

Anwar realized only too well the potential dangers of stoking the religious fire. To emphasize his point, Anwar called for restraint and urged his followers not to participate in the planned Friday demonstrations. It was a particularly prescient call. Anwar must have read Najib, Hishammuddin and all the other characters in UMNO well; he knew their mischievous if not evil intent. Malaysians, specifically Malays, are becoming more sensible or the restraint urged on by Anwar and the others had an impact, for come Friday the demonstrations were definitely muted. The egging-on by UMNO leaders fell flat; instead the rotten eggs landed on the faces of UMNO leaders.related article READ MORE CLICK HERE Can Najib dismisses Bala's claims on his sms to SHAFEE ABDULLAH FIXING judge to buttress the evidence.: FIXING BAGINDA'S FREEDOM
The exemplary stand of the opposition leaders was a stark contrast to the mischievous if not downright dangerous antics of UMNO leaders. The contrast did not end there. Immediately following the tragic incident, Selangor Pakatan Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim visited the charred church. His was a much needed and very comforting presence, as well as a deeply symbolic gesture. It was a spontaneous yet splendid demonstration of common sense and deep concern for your fellow citizens, as well as of leadership.READMORE CLICK THIS May be Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan was preparing his dossier rosmah& najib to renew his contract with the help of the carpetman
Najib's bag of tricks was so crude that even foreign observers saw through it. "The real reason UMNO is politicizing the issue and pandering to its conservative base," wrote the Wall Street Journal, "may be to deflect attention from its own political vulnerabilities."
Najib had every reason to want to change the horrible headlines that were damaging his leadership, the latest being the jet engines stolen from a military base. The theft occurred during Najib's tenure as Defense Minister but was only recently being made public.
That was not the only serious lapse of security during Najib's tenure as Defense Minister. There was the spectacular and potentially devastating collapse of the naval base in Pularek just before its official opening. And to balance things out, there was the lethal attack on the army base in Grik, Perak, by a band of sarong-clad Al Maunah gang members. This recent revelation of the stolen jet engines was merely part of Najib's trademark pattern of incompetence.
Thus far Najib is determined to repeat that same pattern as Prime Minister, except that he has now progressed beyond incompetence to being sinister.
It is downright malicious for Najib, Hishammuddin and others in UMNO to attempt at dividing Malaysians by needlessly treading on our religious sensitivities. Najib's "1Malaysia" campaign has barely begun and he has already made a mockery of the ideal.
Specifically, Najib's attempt to split Muslims in the opposition parties was brazen, crude and potentially destructive. There were initial intimations that his dirty scheming would work, what with the mainstream media continually harping on the supposed differences among the leaders of PAS and Keadilan over this issue. Najib and others must have been licking their chops, savoring the 'brilliance' of their strategy while remaining oblivious of the dangerous forces that they had unleashed.
Thankfully this time around Malaysians are far ahead of their leaders; we did not fall for this ugly and dangerous ploy. I am heartened that even UMNO's own New Straits Times felt emboldened enough not to defend the administration on this matter.
In a thoughtful commentary, Rehman Rashid not too subtly reminded us of the terrible mess we found ourselves in with this manufactured crisis. Left unstated is the role of our leaders in leading us to be where we are today. Of course it would be too much to expect the mainstream media, specifically NST, to explore that. Under the circumstance, Rehman has gone as far as he could, and I applaud him for that.
In his piece Rehman wrote, "Debilitating dogmas need to be debunked, political parasites purged, and Little Napoleons stripped naked and hounded out of town." Strong words! At least he has demonstrated that sycophantic editors (or at least their toadying editorials) are out too!
The nation suffered terribly in 1969; that national tragedy was instrumental in elevating Tun Razak to the nation's top post. We should never risk our nation to another tragic episode under the inept and sinister leadership of his son.
We must not let Najib and his UMNO cahoots continue their bag of dirty tricks upon us. The fire next time might not be so easily contained. The conflagration then could rip us all apart. Let us not even contemplate giving them another chance; we have had enough!
