No, those headlines are not from our local papers. Wish they were. Perhaps only then would there be an all-out effort for Malaysians to start getting serious about improving their English. The language has been in freefall over the past 30 years.

A real pity. There was a time when English was our second language. Now, it is more like a foreign language. No thanks to blinkered politicians who seem to think that those who speak English are traitors to our national language. What utter rubbish! My bi-lingual Malay friends would find this libellous, to say the least.

Even the Sultanah of Johor, Raja Zarith Sofiah Sultan Idri has lamented that most Malaysians cannot speak or write well in English, compared to older Malaysians who are at ease using the language.

At the root of the problem are the English language teachers themselves. If we are to believe the news reports, the majority of these teachers are barely proficient in English. Some of the application letters I received for the post of English language teacher at my former private school were written in such atrocious English, it would have been criminal of me as Head of the English Department then to allow such teachers to wreak further damage in our English language classes.

The Education Ministry is ever so quick to defend itself. In response to a letter "Teachers need help to improve their English", the ministry has this to say: "Apart from being trained in universities or teacher training institutes for a minimum of three years at pre-service level, these teachers also attend in-service programmes conducted by the ministry's Teacher Training Division."

A teacher may have received training, but that does not necessarily make him an effective teacher. If we apply the ministry's argument, our children should be speaking the Queen's English by the time they leave high school since they would have learned the language for 10-11 years by then. We all know this is not the case. Far from it.

Unless the government is prepared to take drastic measures, and not flip-flop as they have done over the teaching of Maths and Science in English, Malaysia will lag further behind in competitiveness.

As Paul Picks Spain To Win The World Cup, The Oracle Octopus Meets His Nemesis: Mani, The Psychic Parakeet, Picks Holland.

Posted: 09 Jul 2010 08:38 AM PDT

It's the greatest challenge Paul the 'oracle octopus' has ever faced.

With six correct World Cup predictions behind him, he has now made his choice for the country to win the World Cup final - Spain.

As if the pressure wasn't already more than any mollusc should ever have to bear, he has also been issued with a challenge from an unexpected quarter - Mani, Singapore's psychic parakeet.

Germans will be torn in two at the news. Half will be still be wanting to roast Paul with garlic after he predicted - correctly - that their team would lose to Spain at the semi-final.

While the other half will be hoping that Paul - who is, after all, a German octopus - will triumph against Mani, giving them some share in the glory of the World Cup final.

Today, during a live television broadcast, Paul predicted Germany would beat Uruguay in the third place playoff match on Saturday - his seventh prediction of the tournament.

And now he has made his eighth - and possibly the most important - prediction: that Spain will win the final.

His latest success came on Wednesday night, when he forecast Spain would defeat the Germans in the semi-final.

Paul was born in Weymouth in 2006 but now resides in Germany's Oberhausen's Sea Life Aquarium.

He predicts matches by choosing to eat a mussel from boxes emblazoned with the flags of the German team and its rivals.

In the group stages, he correctly predicted German victories over Australia and Ghana and the country's loss to Serbia.

England and Argentina then produced spineless performances in the next two rounds to ensure that Paul's predictions that Germany would win came to pass. Then came Germany's defeat to Spain.

Paul became an international sensation - with media around the world today publishing his prediction that Spain will win the final.

Then, along came Mani.

Today the 13-year-old parakeet made his own World Cup prediction - grabbing a card in his beak bearing the flag of the Netherlands.

Mani has become a local celebrity after its owner, M Muniyappan, claimed Mani accurately forecast the World Cup's four quarterfinal games and Spain's semi-final victory over Germany.

'He's a special bird,' Muniyappan said.

Muniyappan, an 80-year-old fortune-teller, said Mani has helped him predict the future for five years at a table in front of a restaurant in the Little India neighbourhood.

But this year's World Cup is the first time the parakeet has attempted to forecast the outcome of sports competitions.

'People usually want help picking the lottery numbers, or when to get married,' said Muniyappan, who was born in India and moved to Singapore in 1953.

'Then gamblers started asking about the World Cup.'

Muniyappan said about 30 people a day now pay for his psychic powers, up from about 10 a day before Mani shot to fame.

Paul first started predicting matches during the 2008 European Championships, when four out of his six choices were correct.

Mathematicians have found the probability of guessing the correct result six times consecutively is less than 0.5 per cent, or 216 to 1.

Paul's soothsaying has turned him into a star in Germany. But he may well prove to be the victim of his own success.

After Argentina lost to Germany in the quarterfinal, the Argentines threatened to capture, kill him and serve him with potatoes.

Even some Germans have turned against their eight-legged oracle, suggesting Oberhausen restaurants should soon offer grilled octopus on their menus.

And he'll need to cash in on his success soon. At the age of four Paul is unusually old for an octopus, which, in the wild, don't usually live much past two years.

KANPUR: A distraught woman, whose young son bled to death after he allegedly could not be taken to hospital in time due to road blockades erected during Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's visit, asked Sonia Gandhi to ensure that a similar tragedy does not befall anyone else in future.

"No mother should go through the same tragedy," a weeping Usha Sharma said on Friday after she wrote a letter to the Congress president in which she also sought a compensation of Rs 10 lakh.

Usha and her husband Tasaddud Hussain alleged that they were stopped from taking their only child, eight-year-old Aman, who sustained serious head injuries after falling from a height at their home, to hospital by security personnel who had barricaded all major roads here for the Prime Minister's visit to Indian Institute of Technology(IIT) on July 3.

The couple, residents of Shyam Nagar locality, claimed that though they requested security persons to allow them to commute through Coca-Cola crossing which had been barricaded due to security curbs, they were asked to take a longer route to the nearest hospital. A five-minute journey to the hospital was reported to have taken about 30 minutes.

Aman, a student of Class II, bled to death on his way to the hospital, the family said.

In her letter to Gandhi, written on July 6, Sharma has requested the UPA Chairperson to make sure that in future security forces do not stop the injured from being taken to hospitals.

Additional District Magistrate Shailendra Kumar Singh told PTI that some roads had been closed on July 3 in view of the Prime Minister's visit to IIT in the city.

An inquiry has been ordered into the incident, he said. Hussain said a fax has been sent to the prime minister drawing his attention to the incident.

"This kind of thing should not happen to anyone else. If there is a situation like this again, people should be allowed to go for medical treatment and the police should help them," he said.

BN..Who will you Blame..??

Posted: 09 Jul 2010 06:04 AM PDT

It is People First.Performance Now. But it is really getting out of hand. 24 Hours especially at peak hours the JAM has got the people blaming the Barisan National government for creating a mockery of the system. This was told to audie61 through our source that the N-KRA's must be completed according to schedule. We have no choice but to carry it out. What can we do but FOLLOW ORDERS AND INSTRUCTIONS..?? DOES IT MAKE SENSE..??

At the expense of the Poor Motorists plying the outer ring road Kuching Samarahan Road from June 15th to July 30th 2010.2 months ago it was only for 1 week..Wow..!!!!

In May in an English Tabloid Miri Police OCPD said this,"Miri police and the public lopped off a whopping 39 per cent in street crimes in the city, surpassing the national key performance index (KPI) for the police force since the beginning of this year. He continued," The KPI for the Royal Malaysian Police was 20 per cent reduction of street crimes, and Miri Police performance almost doubled the national standard."

What happens to the rests of the districts in Sarawak…..??? Trying to outdo each other and to prove that each and everyone are following the KRA"s…OooooH Pleaseeeee !!!!.

Corporate Company now is it…????

Thus thereby resulting in overzealous policing and JAM and tensions built for motorists and blaming Barisan National Government…

Most voters and constituents who live in the outskirts and suburban areas are already making their voices heard through the Assemblyman and also to some Ministers. A motorist who was clearly affected by this said to audie61,"If it rains and at night its worse and when you live 10 minutes away from your house plus the police block in place it will take more than an hour. We are already so stress and to be caught in the Jam it will clearly be shown later in the Sarawak State Elections and also ballot box. I'm sure I am not the only one.Mosts people will also be very angry and frustated

Just a recap: PM Najib launched the N-KRA National Key results area on 27/07/09 and listed below are the 6 areas. The Minister in charge of Key Performance Index (KPI) is Senator Koh Tsu Koon.

Surely, there must be some flaws or something must have not been followed up according to earlier planned.

The 6 N-KRAs identified to support the National Key Performance Indicators (N-KPI) are:

To reduce crime, fight corruption, widen access to affordable and quality education, raise living standard of the poor, improve infrastructure in rural areas and improve public transport in the medium term.

Ministers assigned to lead each of the KRAs and to oversee their implementation and achieve the targets set are: Deputy Prime Minister and Education Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin will oversee the national KRA on providing greater access to affordable and quality education, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Ong Tee Keat will be in charge of the KRA to improve public transportation while Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein will head crime reduction.

Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz has been assigned to oversee efforts to combat corruption, Rural and Regional Development Minister Datuk Shapie Apdal will take charge of the KRA on improving rural infrastructure and Women, Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Jalil will lead the KRA to improve the condition of low-income households.

Moving to fortify the N-KPI introduced in late April, the Prime Minister on Monday had set specific targets for the Ministers in the N-KRAs.

The Lead Ministers and deliveries for their respective N-KRAS as announced by the Prime Minister are as follows:

1. Reducing Crime

  • Reducing street crime by 20 per cent by end of 2010
  • Retraining Rela members
  • Upgrading equipment for enforcement agencies
  • Setting up special courts for street crime

2. Combating Corruption

  • Updating policies, procedures and enforcement
  • Using open or restricted tender process for government projects

3. Widening access to affordable and quality education

  • Making pre-school education part of the national education system
  • Ensuring all pupils are able to read, write and count when the enter year four by 2012
  • Rewarding school principals and headmasters based on achievements

4. Raising living standard of the poor

  • Paying out all welfare cash aid on the first of each month from January 2010
  • Creating 4,000 women entrepreneurs under the "Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar" programme by 2012

5. Improving Infrastructure in rural areas

  • Building 1,500km of roads in Sabah and Sarawak by 2012.
  • Increasing clean water supply to cover 90 per cent of Sabah and Sarawak by the end of 2012.
  • Increasing electricity coverage in Sabah and Sarawak to 95 per cent by end of 2012.
  • Providing 24-hour electricity supply to 7,000 orang asli families in the peninsula by the end of 2012

6. Improving public transport in the Medium term

  • Increasing the number of public transport users from the current 16 per cent to 25 per cent by end of 2012.
  • Adding 35 sets of four-car-trains to operate on the Kelana Jaya LRT track by the end of 2012.

The Message is very Clear," The Implementation Process needs to be Ironed out and it must not be Overzealous,Overenthusiastic,Overperformance and jeorpadising the outcome in the Ballot Boxes soon.

DON"T SAY NO IT WON'T..!!

Viva la Online Journalism

Posted: 09 Jul 2010 04:22 AM PDT

The current controversy surrounding the government's crackdown on Suara Keadilan and Harakah raises some intriguing issues, but especially about the relevance of the Printing Presses and Publications Act and control of the media.

When Abdullah Badawi became prime minister in 2003, approximately 97 percent of Malaysian homes had a television. Along with being connected to the world through television, this of course meant that through its domination of the electronic media, Umno had a virtual monopoly and control of our access to national news through television.

The significance of this government domination of the electronic media (and for that matter the print media as well) was made all the more apparent given that despite dramatic growth in the number of households getting connected to the internet, only about 32 percent of homes were wired, so to speak, at the start of the Badawi era.

So up until recently, whilst Umno dominated the electronic media, its impact was especially overwhelming because there was little else by comparison, to compete with the government's propaganda.

Even as the percentage of homes connected to the internet reached over 37 percent by 2005, it would not be unreasonable to suggest that the amount of alternative local media available to compete alongside the government's television-based news and propaganda left much to be desired.

Under these circumstances, where alternative voices have had to primarily rely on print media, these voices – such as Suara Keadilan and Harakah – have of course been vulnerable to the wimps and fancies of the government and its abuse of the Printing Presses and Publications Act for its own political ends.

But the above situation has been revolutionized over the past five years. As of 2009 it is estimated that over 65 percent of homes were connected to the internet. Beyond this, not only have we witnessed the mushrooming of various online news outlets and sources competing for our screen time, there has also been an explosion of online social media, which has – among other things - truly created a new political reality in the country.

We saw, for example, just how critical this new reality had become in the run-up to the 2008 general election as well as the government's attempts to jam and shut down Raja Petra Kamarudin's website.

The simple fact is, government-controlled television and print media is no longer the only game in town when it comes to disseminating national news. It can continue to do what it has always done; that is, present the Umno-party line but the evidence shows that more of us than ever are looking elsewhere for information, and government-controlled television news outlets have become less relevant and powerful during this past decade.

Which brings me back to the crackdown on the print version of Suara Keadilan and Harakah. Both these publications are online, and it is reasonable to assume that the online versions are now more accessible and available to interested readers than the print version ever was or will be.

So whilst Umno can continue to intimidate alternative print media through its abuse of the Printing Presses and Publications Act, the web – and our access to it - has made the Printing Presses and Publications Act essentially impotent as a weapon of political control and propaganda.

Therefore I doubt that PAS and PKR respectively are really feeling aggrieved. To be sure, whilst in principle PAS and PKR certainly have an argument about being selectively targeted, there is a part of me that wonders if this government crack down on the publications will only backfire on Umno and at the same time have a negligible impact on the opposition.

On the contrary, the crackdown must bode well for PAS and PKR. Not only does it actually remind us all about the government's control of the press and ability to censor alternative voices, our growing interconnected via the web is rendering the government's Printing Presses and Publications Act increasingly irrelevant.

As more of our homes have become connected to the internet, it goes to reason that more readers are also going to invariably be able to access Harakah and Suara Keadilan online, thus really adding another nail to the coffin of the Act typically used to censor and control alternative voices.

We may not have a government that has respected or valued a free press, but it looks increasingly the case, nonetheless, that we have a government that is becoming less capable of preventing a free press and alternative voices from reaching the public.

Long live online journalism.

Syafiee kena cermin muka dahulu. Kena tanya, UMNO yang menghalalkan judi, arak, murtad dsbnya sepatutnya lebih layak digelar sesat.

Misuse of public funds has to be stopped

Posted: 08 Jul 2010 06:53 PM PDT

From Louis Liong Wei Wei, via e-mail

I'm a student and just like every other citizen of this country, am particularly concerned about the recently released Auditor-General's report.

Every year when this report is compiled and made public, we will see misuse and misappropriation of funds, power abuse and several other shortcomings.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but throughout the years, the government has been lackadaisical in taking actions against those who have been flouting the rules.

Even if action is taken, if any, they were half-hearted. The Prime Minister has said once again that action would be taken. Just how far this will take place remains to be seen.

Misuse of funds, which is people's money, has caused uneasiness among the people.

We hope that with the recent directive by the Chief Secretary to the government, that the Auditor-General writes in to heads of department urging actions to be taken against those concerned, the situation could be remedied.

This problem resurfaces every year. Here, I would suggest that a taskforce, headed by Sidek Hassan himself, be set up to probe the findings of the report. This would make a better initiative than asking the heads of departments to do the job.

Rope in all parties, including the police and Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission, to investigate in detail each and every case in the report.

Leave no stones unturned. The misuse of public funds has to be stopped. Another report would be out soon. So it is urgent that the government springs into action now.

It is also vital for the government to come up with long-term measures so as to minimise these abuses. I trust that the government will be able to do this well. The rakyat would be watching closely.

Ministers should get their priorities right

Posted: 08 Jul 2010 06:52 PM PDT

From Guiness Teoh, via e-mail

It is mind boggling how our Parliament works? How can the former defence minister get away without answering questions?

MPs are paid (by taxpayers) to perform a duty for the tax payers and that includes attending and taking part in Parliamentary proceedings, so do the PM and DPM.

If the answers can not be given due to time constraints, then written answers should be submitted to Parliament.

Of course, the replies need to be sensible, responsible, honest and supported with documented proof where necessary.

If the concerned minister would spend less time politicking, attending party meetings then there should be sufficient time to respond.

Ministers are not paid by taxpayers to attend political party meetings. If they were spending time with party matters, perhaps they should give up MP's job to focus on party matters.

This is fair game; you are paid by taxpayers, and then spend your time for tax payers. If you are not paid by tax payers, by all means do anything you want.

Again, I don't understand....can someone highlight this in Parliament and demand their time?

Points to ponder about PSD scholarships

Posted: 08 Jul 2010 06:50 PM PDT

From Victor Tan, via e-mail

I refer to your June 26 article titled 'PSD scholarships - to scrap or not to scrap. I congratulate FMT for an excellent article on the controversy surrounding PSD scholarships.

Perhaps the following issues could help shed more light on the matter:

  • An overseas lecturer training scheme. From what I have personally experienced, the awarding of scholarships is heavily skewed towards Bumiputeras since public universities primarily hire Bumiputeras for entry level teaching positions.
  • The need to push the government to publish the list of names of scholarship recipients, grades obtained, etc
  • The urgent need to use a single entry system such as STPM. Comparisons can be made with the US system, such as the SAT grading system. The system gets progressively harder so that the best are separated from the merely good.

It was mentioned in the report that of the 300 scholarships on merit, 80 percent went to non-Malays.

How is merit considered in the first place? Is it acceptable that on merit only 20 percent of Malays could receive scholarship, while the number jumps to 60 percent after taking into consideration various affirmative actions?

What is the reason for this huge disparity and why is the government not doing anything to boost the performance of the Malays?

By not holding Mara scholarship recipients to a bond, and many other PSD scholars, the government is wasting money. This will seriously impair our nation's growth. This point should be made loud and clear in the Parliament.

The rot started when Razak took over the reins

Posted: 08 Jul 2010 06:49 PM PDT

From Kuljit Chabaal, via e-mail

Being a senior citizen, I would like to voice my concerns on 'Samy Vellu and his gangsters' as it affects all facets of the Indian community including the Sikhs. When Tun Razak, and later Mahathir, took over the reins of the country, our leaders, even Ling Leong Sik compromised the rights of their communities.

It's a drama/wayang kulit and very obvious that there was a deal with both our Chinese and Indian leaders that they make no demands as long as their personal interests were taken care of. They were made ministers and devoured whatever they could and left the scraps for the poor.

The ugly head of gangsterism reared itself when joe public started voicing concerns way back in the mid -80s but fear and Intimidation by the gangsters didn't give the heroes a chance to step forward until now.

Every time someone questioned these leaders (who enjoy immunity all the time ), fights take place and the situation quietens down. The law is always in favour of these ministers.

The public paid the price when the they were exploited. Jobs, education, religion and everything was exploited for the benefit of a single race. We Indians have even lost the rights to our bodies as enshrined in the constitution.

Gangsterism put so much fear that the normal man had no voice at all. Because of fear and gangsterism, today the Indians are a downtroden lot with menial jobs, save for few professionals here and there.

Let's all free Malaysia. Vote for the opposition and revert to the constitution.

SELAMAT HARI JADI, TUN DR M!

Posted: 09 Jul 2010 10:20 AM PDT

My heartiest congratulations to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who turns 85 on July 10, 2010. Syukur Alhamdulillah for the good health bestowed upon him by Allah, and may he stay that way.

I first shook hands with him in 1984 during a function at Angkasapuri. I still keep the photo. The last was during Hari Raya Aidilfitri at his residence three years ago.

For all the good things he had done for Malaysia during his tenure as Prime Minister, I would like to say Thank You. For the 'not so good' ones, I take it as an err by human (he is not an angel) but I personally believe he never meant to put Malaysians under hardship.

He has tried his best for the country, Umno and Barisan Nasional. The developing countries, especially of the South, still very much remember 'Mahathir' when we tell them that we are from Malaysia.

The legacy of this true statesman will live forever. To those who dont quite like him, better think who has been Malaysia's best prime minister ever...

SELAMAT HARI JADI, TUN...

Reasons why Muslims of today are weak and disunited?

Posted: 09 Jul 2010 02:10 AM PDT

Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh.

Okay, it will seem like I'm trying to embark on a futile mission to define or determine the zillion and one reasons as to why the Ummah of the Greatest Messenger of Allah, the Blessed Prophet Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam are today in the weakest positions amongst the multitude of ignorant masses of humankind who are wasting away their temporal lives here in false worship of deities and self imagined gods other than Allahu Rabbul Alamin?

The reasons that I perceive them to be here are in random order. You are welcome to discuss these points that I am going to be sharing with you in an endless series of topics but I ask that you do so in a manner acceptable as decent dialog between informed and honorable individuals worthy of response. Thank you.

Alright!

Let's start by discussing about the human tendency to be egoistic.

Yup. I choose the human characteristic to be so egoistic and proud beyond measure to be our first subject of discussion. Let me give it a number and embolden the subject.
  1. EGO / NAFS
The Ego or Nafs dear brothers and sisters is what differentiates us and other makhluks. Makhluks meaning Creation of Allahu Ta'ala. God Almighty.

It is the feeling that we have within ourselves that is defined as the human Ego or Pride. As a Muslim, whatever that I have come to learn, study or identify to be the human Ego or Pride is the interpretation of all that has been revealed in the Final Testament of Almighty Allahu Ta'ala and what has been shared with us by Khatamun Nabiyyi al Ummiyyi, Muhammad Rasulullah Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam?

It will also encompass my own interpretations and understandings of the subject matter borne out of my own findings and studies over these years.

Let's first take a look at the following verses from Surah Al Fajr. Chapter 89 Verses 27 to 30:
89:27
27. Ya ayyatuha alnnafsu almutma-innatu
Sahih International
[To the righteous it will be said], "O reassured soul,
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
'O soul at peace!, [the one] secure, namely, the believing one.
89:28
28. Irji ee ila rabbiki radiyatan mardiyyatan
Sahih International
Return to your Lord, well-pleased and pleasing [to Him],
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Return — this is said to it upon death — to your Lord, that is to say, return to His command and to His will, pleased, with the reward, pleasing, in God's sight with your deeds; in other words [return O soul] combining both descriptions (both of which are circumstantial qualifiers). And it will be said to it at the Resurrection:
89:29
29. Fadd khulee fee iibadee
Sahih International
And enter among My [righteous] servants
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
Then enter among My, righteous, servants!
89:30
30. Wadd khulee jannatee
Sahih International
And enter My Paradise."
Tafsir al-Jalalayn
And enter My Paradise!', with them.

The verses above reveal the state of affairs concerning that of the soul which if brought up and groomed to be as a true Muslim soul will be one at peace with itself and that as to what has been decreed by its Creator ~ Allahu Rabbul Alamin?

The human tendency to think of oneself to be this or that, high and mighty above all others dwells with the forgetfulness of the average individual in not realizing the gradual metamorphosis of one's self from coming into existence as just a conceived mere clot of blood when one's parents came into sexual intercourse together?

Then progress further as a developing zygote as described scientifically a thousand four hundred forty four years ago by the revelation of Surah Al Alaq Verses 1 to 5 to Muhammad the Unlettered Prophet by Archangel Jibreel Alaihis Salam in the dark cave of Hira' situated at the high mountains above Makkah :

Dear brothers and sisters,

We forget that we were created by Allahu Ta'ala from just a mere clot of blood, helpless and totally dependent upon what Allahu Rabbi decrees us to be?

We come into this world, naked and devoid of any skills or capabilities save for what Allahu Rabbi deems right for us?

Yet there are so many amongst us today who defy the dictates and decrees of Allah Azza Wa Jalla as if we came into being here in this life on our own?

The egoistic ones amongst us question the Syaria of Allahu Ta'ala as if they are more knowledgeable than Him Who Gave us our life?

They ridicule His Syaria as outdated and irrelevant when His Guidance to Mankind came millions and millions of years ago when our Father Sayyidina Adam Alaihis Salam was first created by Allah Rabbul Alamin fashioned perfectly as we are in form and substance plus having the Faculty of Reasoning that most makhluk ~ creation do not have?

A thousand four hundred forty over years back after the passing of Allah's Final Messenger to Mankind out of a hundred twenty four thousand prophets and messengers who were sent to guide us over the millions of years passed, the revelations of Rasul Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam comes to rock those of us who do care to study and contemplate as to the Minor Signs of the Coming of The Last Day :

Abu Musa Ash`ari Radhiallahu Anhu narrates that the Messenger of Allah, Rasulullah Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam said, " Qiyamah will come....
  1. `When it will be regarded as a shame to act on Quranic injunctions.
  2. `When untrustworthy people will be regarded as trustworthy and the trustworthy will be regarded as untrustworthy.
  3. `When it will be hot in winter and vice versa.
  4. `When the length of days is stretched (i.e. a journey that took a few days before is now covered in just a matter of hours).
  5. `When orators and lecturers lie openly. ~ Read > lawyers, Members of Parliament, etc.
  6. `When people dispute over petty matters.
  7. `When women with children come displeased on account of them bearing offspring and barren women remain happy on account of them having no burden of responsibility of having children.
  8. `When oppression, jealousy and greed become the order of the day.
  9. `When people blatantly follow their passions, whims and fancies.
  10. `When lies prevail over the truth.
  11. `When violence, bloodshed and anarchy becomes common.
  12. `When immorality overtakes shamelessness and is perpetrated publicly.
  13. `When legislation matters pertaining to Deen is handed over to the worst elements of the ummah, and if people accept them and are satisfied with their findings, then such persons will not smell the fragrance of Jannah (heaven).
  14. `When the offspring become a source of grief and anger (for their parents).'
Dear brothers and sisters,

All the above listed fore-signs that the Final Messenger Muhammad Sallalahu Alaihi Wassallam has prophesied has now come into being.

To those of us who have total faith and Iman in Allahu Rabbi and Muhammad Ar Rasuli Sayyidul Mursalin, the coming to be of all the above Minor Signs preceding the Coming of Yaum al Qiyyamah is not something to be ignored!!!

The egoistical ones screwing up our lives here in Malaysia and the rest of the world can't just be allowed to continue with their disastrous ways for when the Wrath of Allah descends upon us like the Tsunami that devastated Acheh Darussalam on Dec the 26th, 2004 will not differentiate between the Muslims and the Kaffirs.

The calamity that will wreak havoc in our lives will not pick and choose as some will want to imagine and dream about thinking that because they have been good, they will be spared?

The EGO / NAFS that causes all the devious ones amongst us to continue defying Allahu Ta'ala's Commandments will eventually destroy everyone and every thing.

Keeping quiet before injustice and choosing to just pray and close ones eyes, ears and mind to the maksiat that is wreaking havoc amongst us here will not help.

In fact it will hasten the coming of our retribution for our failing to voice out against the corrupt, evil, egoistical ones amongst us.

Do not even dare to imagine that you and me will be spared because we stuck to our syahadah and did our part as Muslims.

No way!

No way will we be spared because we live amongst those who are too damn proud to submit to Allah's Will!

Just take any of the aforementioned minor signs and tell me if it hasn't taken place yet in this country?

Go on! Take your pick!

Tell me if minor sign # 1 has not taken place?

Do you remember the recent fiasco over the Pahang Syariah High Court's decision to punish Kartika Sari Dewi Syukarnor over her offense of imbibing alcohol with a mere 6 strokes of the rattan cane?

The Syariah Courts system of caning is not the same as what the Civil Courts caning system is about?

The Syariah caning punishment is meant to embarrass the offender and cause him or her to repent.

Their physical self will not be harmed grievously and after the punishment is carried out, Islam regards them to be purified and they return to a state of purity from sin. Back to the state of being sinless as a newborn baby.

In fact, the punished ones become better than those of us because according to Al Islam, they are now back to being free from sin.

The caning is not carried out with the intent to cause severe physical injury. The cane used has to be of specific thickness and of a length which is determined by the Syariah Code. The executor of the punishment is trained to exact just the appropriate amount of force that will not cut open the flesh or skin of the offender.

I just returned from a 3D 2N Syariah Study Tour of Nanggroe Acheh Darussalam and have learned about the whole process. I have even been issued a Certificate of Attendance by the Mahkamah Syariah Provinsi Nanggroe Acheh Darussalam and have also been given two complete compilations of the Syariah Laws and Penal Code of Acheh Darussalam.

One from the Mahkamah Syariah Acheh and another from the Dinas Syariat Islam Acheh.
Alhamdulillah.

People need to know that the Islamic Syariah form of justice and the Civil Courts system of punishment of offenders are so different and in total contrast to each other.

All those who raised a din over the intended caning of Kartika Sari Dewi Syukarnor can be summed up as being totally ignorant of what the true Syaria system of caning actually is?

That includes those who are titled as ' Keepers of the Islamic Faith' here in Malaysia. Yes. I mean the Malay Sultans.

Their Majesties have not been briefed or updated as to the actual form of the Islamic Syaria system of carrying out the punishments according to the Syaria Code for offenses committed willingly by those who are deemed to be Muslims?

I doubt very much as to whether any of the 9 Malay Sultans of Malaysia have really come to know as to how it really is when it comes to upholding the Syaria Laws and Penal Code with relation to the caning of offenders who are found and proven to be guilty of the relevant offenses and crimes that they have truly committed?

The Sultan of Pahang's decision to opt for community service for Kartika instead of carrying out the caning sentence has actually done a great and major disservice to the efforts by those who are elected and appointed officials of the Jabatan Kehakiman Syariah Malaysia who have struggled for so long to implement and bring into being the Syariah Courts System of Islamic Justice here in Malaysia.

It is truly a very sad day for the position of the Syaria System here in Malaysia when one of its so called Keepers of the Islamic Faith who swore upon the Holy Blessed Al Quran al Karim to go against his pledge and undermine the highest position of Allahu Ta'ala's Commandments to us who declare ourselves to be His Committed and Dedicated Servants discounting whatever differences we might have between ourselves as the so called ordinary citizens of this country and those who deem themselves to be royalty and blue blood, whatsoever?

I have yet to see anyone here on Earth bleed and their blood comes out as bluish in color?

If anyone of you have seen such a miracle, kindly shoot a video and email it to me. I promise to post it on YouTube as soon as I possibly can? Wallahi!

Okay folks. I have to stop here for now. Will continue later.

Wabillahi Taufik Wal Hidayah.

Wassalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh!
