BN afraid of Batu by-election, says PAS' Khalid

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 11:35 AM PDT

Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad today rubbished talk of a rift between DAP and its Pakatan Rakyat allies over the possible disqualification of Batu MP Tian Chua for his 'cop biting' conviction. The speculations stemmed from DAP top guns Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh's statements that Tian Chua can be disqualified as MP due to the RM2,000 fine slapped on him by the Kuala Lumpur High Court on Thursday for biting a police personnel three years ago. Speaking at a fund-raising dinner for Batu PKR in Kuala Lumpur, the PAS elected representative joked that some quarters had even alleged that Lim and Karpal "don't like Tian Chua". Khalid revealed further that he had put Selangor Speaker and DAP leader Teng Chang Kim, who was also at the dinner, on the spot over the matter. "I asked him, why is the DAP saying that Tian Chua is no longer an MP?" Full story: www.malaysiakini.com

We change all or we lose the government

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 11:27 AM PDT

In my last posting I put up my frank and guileless opinion that BN may be able to sustain power at the Federal level but with conditions. For BN to secure unconditional support like 2 decades ago is now history.

The condition and provision is definitely very tough to implement for leaders who are too used to commit offenses Scot-free with great immunity and no Law can convict them.

UMNO especially has to introspect itself to realize what has gone wrong and must be prepared even to cannibalize the party and to reconstruct it in order to be relevant in the eyes of the people and the Malays in particular.

The question is how to cannibalize and to reconstruct it?

UMNO must be serious in its attempt to revolutionize this Malay party, to be recognized as the guardian and to take custodian of Malay interest. All adaptation and adjustment to the party have to be done before the General Election.

Easing the pain to a disease is not helping a sick man. What is actually needed is to address the disease suffered by the man.

Taking in 2 tablets of pain killer to ease the regular pain-in-the neck does not help. The real appropriate solution is to address the high blood pressure may be or any other related disease that causes the pain-in-the neck.

So what is the actual disease of UMNO? UMNO is not human; it is just a political organization. UMNO is not able to misbehave or commit any wrong. UMNO has become an almost irrelevant and a destitute party due to the human beings who manage the party.

An important organization like UMNO has rules to follow and there are elements of dos and the don'ts. That is why UMNO has a printed constitution to guide each and every member to digest and follow the rules stipulated in it and those rules are meant to be followed and not to be broken.

BUT there is a small part in the book of UMNO constitution which is of prime importance and should be valued by everyone who wants to be a member; that is the spirit and the struggle of the party. In fact that is the main item of the constitution, and in UMNO, the struggles and the spirit of it is spelt in the article 3 of the constitution.

So with current state of affairs in UMNO, we should by now identify the definite disease of this party. Most of it has been mentioned in my last posting and many more postings in the past years.

CORRUPTION is the mother of all problems in this devilish and irresponsible party. Old and young, veteran and new members are already held ransom by corruption.

With unmitigated corruption in the party and government it brings along a lot of other consignments of devious standards and morals to the leadership and members that compounds the already complicated state of affairs.

CORRUPTIBLE act is an act of an acute and serious THIEVING. In fact it is much serious than an act of thieving.

Stealing will only make the victims in despair but CORRUPTION will affect and ruins what is not stolen as well as it involves tax-payers money and subsequently will send in many other sets of problems like misallocation of public funds and subsequently costs the government (tax payers) mountable amount of money being wasted and ill spent.

Misallocation of funds due to huge corruptible activities of the leaders and the government cost our students their future as there not enough of funds allocated for MARA to send them abroad for training and for their tertiary education.

Gigantic projects are proposed by the government with grand intention of corrupt leaders and implementers to skim from them and it is seldom meant for the real necessity of the rakyat. Public fund stolen through direct negotiation project is enormous and we can safely say that the quantum is in hundreds of billion of Malaysian Ringgit.

Corruption is the no 1 enemy for any country which wants to progress. Corruption rots the main thrust of any system in our case Malaysia as a nation.

Corruption and UMNO is synonymous and it is very tough exercise to do any curative move to stamp out this heinous habit. Old and bad habit like corruption is hard to go unless the people make them go through National Election.

Corruption and UMNO can be summed up by applying a popular Malay proverb, 'UMNO dan rasuah itu ibarat aur dengan tebing, saling memerlukan diantara satu dengan lain'.

Old habits are hard to die. Can the top leaders of UMNO and BN manage to remove the ingrained opinion among the public that all of them are corrupt? Can they?

A corrupt community or group would not be able to find any solution to corrupt individuals within its group or community? Allowing the group of corrupt leaders to continue ruling the state will only infuriate the public and they will be finding alternative leadership through the ballot box.

While corruption is widely spread in this country no one has been convicted and jailed for that offense. The Ministers, the MBs and high public officers are known to be corrupt but none so far have been convicted.

Years ago Rais Yatim announced that there were 18 high profile corruption cases but until to this date none of the 18 has been brought to court of Law. So the public would not have any more compassion to maintain the UMNO government.

PKFZ issue involved MCA leadership but the Party's head that had the intention to open up the issue was unceremoniously put aside by highly syndicated move through the party's EGM recently.

Now that man is not in the Cabinet any longer as his retirement would make Najib and the rest of the MCA corrupt leaders to say on and cover up the case until everyone of us forgets the issue.

The perpetrators survive while the innocents become the scapegoats. They don't 'fuck' care or have any concern over the 12 billion ringgit of public money involved in the scam.

The country is currently ruled by organized mafias and big cartels. Going for the truth is forbidden; we are supposed to be supporting men and women with big and powerful muscles.

In conclusion if the current ruling parties in the BN component still have the burning desire to remain in power, please change the whole lineup of the leaders and replace it with a new set with presentable image and disposition to face the aggravated voting public.

Don't ask anybody how to do it. The ordinary members must be in the open to go for that change.

We should only retain the current lineup if we have irrefutably decided to see BN losing the General Election and that is also your basic human right.

NEP Punishes Talented Malays Too, Says Nazir Razak.

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 06:35 AM PDT

CIMB chief Datuk Seri Nazir Razak today repeated his call for a review of the New Economic Policy (NEP), adding that the policy has been unfair to the majority of Malays.

Nazir, who is also a younger brother to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak, said the time has come for the government to protect the interest of the majority of the Malays and not just selected few.

"I have met a Malay professional overseas who refused to return to Malaysia because he is of the view that successful Malays are not welcomed in the country. This is because the Malays' success is always linked to NEP," said Nazir in an interview with Mingguan Malaysia published today.

"In fact some of them refused to return thinking that the NEP is not for them but only to selected Malay groups, so they are better off working overseas," he said when asked if the new generation of Malays are more open to reviewing the policy.

However, Nazir said certain aspect of the NEP such as scholarships allocation should be retained.

"Those who have been trying to stop efforts to review the NEP are those who are benefiting from the NEP. That was why some contractors were not happy with open tender but they never ask if they get the job, what would happen to other Malay contractors. Why refuse to compete?" said Nazir to a question on the opposition to a review of the NEP.

He said that the policy, introduced during the premiership of his father Tun Abdul Razak Hussein in 1971 has deviated from its original objective.

"In the long term NEP is about national unity. But today we have deviated from the original intention of the NEP to achieve unity," said Nazir.

"For certain parties, NEP has become the cause of disunity because the policy has been misused by some people for profit," he added.

He cited the lack of transparency in the allocation of bumiputra shares and the awarding of AP as examples of abused of the NEP.

"In the name of NEP, shares of listed companies are given out to bumiputras, but the question is who is entitled and who is benefiting from it?" he asked.

"And look at the awarding of APs, what is the basis for the award?" said Nazir.

NESS Global services : An Umno - Israel Collaboration?

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 03:14 AM PDT

Www.ness.com is an Israeli based company operating in Malaysia. That is a business issue but we must question the privileged given by the Malaysian government (I mean UMNO government is questionable)

By Kampung Baru

Each every foreign worker should have proper work permit to work in Malaysia In Immigration LAW which applicable for all the company operate in Malaysia. This is standard LAW. For the NESS Global services Sdn. Bhd. This is exceptional due to ISRAEL base company.

Mdec without the proper documentation for MSC status approve Indian professional come into Malaysia. 3/5/2010 Mdec approve document to allow immigration to give work permit for the new comer to work in NESS global services.
Under immigration law only with work permit you are allowed to work in Malaysia but NESS global service Sdn. Bhd. Is exceptional because Israel base. This company can bring in the worker from India in Social visit visa and later work out for the work permit. This worker are at the moment working in BAT (British America Tobacco in TPM). Payroll is under NESS Global services Sdn Bhd. In this case this foreign worker should have work permit issue under NESS Global service.
Let me give more detail about the workers.

Name : Vemuri Sambasiva Rao

Passport no: H2864153

Place and Country of birth : ULAVAPADU, INDIA

Date of Birth : 09/08/1982

This guy come into Malaysia and start work on 3/5/2010 in BAT at TPM. First check validation of contract exist between BAT and NESS to allow this worker work in BAT(Public listed company).

How can this guy work in Malaysia under Social visit pass if not its Israel linked company.

Name : Gangadhar

Passport no: H1303329

Status : Social visit Pass work in BAT

How this is possible if not Israel link company. How this is possible if not UMNO government allow this.

UMNO government only allow this for Israel base company and no question to be asked.
BAT give contract to WIPRO. Wipro sub-contract this to NESS Global services. But there is no official contract between WIPRO and Ness Global services. NESS Global service supply the worker to WIPRO without contarct and Ness global services provide those professional come from India under Social Visit Visa.

This is fact not fiction. More to come. Israel Can In Malaysia.
The sales director who in-charge on bringing this worker into Malaysia is Rajeev Nair (E8670407) Contact number 012-6560638.

You can validate information before act on this. You can contact immigration officer for verification.

Karl personally involve in giving contract to NESS Singapore. Current there was allegation going on that KARL Reisinger was bribe by Madhujeet Chimni from NESS Singapore. Who is current Director Stone-apple Solutions Sdn Bhd. Which buying over NESS Global services Sdn. Bhd.

Madhujeet currently working Petronas to get contract in Petronas Chemical in Kuantan. 29/5/2010 Madhujeet with his wife was here to meet main person in Petronas Chemical in Kuantan. This arrangement done by Rajeev Nair(sales Director of Stone-apple Solutions Sdn. Bhd.)

Stone-apple sign contract with Wipro to supply IT professional from India. But those who are working with Wipro at the moment are holding work permit under NESS Global services Sdn. Bhd. Under immigration LAW this is contractually wrong. But Immigration Malaysia in cyberjaya close one eye and approve all this permit.

Boikot Kepala bapak kau - Melayu Umno!

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 02:59 AM PDT

Oleh Anak Mami

Duta British ke Palastine Sir Harold McMichael (1938 - 1944)pernah berkata, "kalau nak lawan Yahudi gunakan konsep Lawan dengan melalui kocek mereka sendiri". ("Fighting the Jews through their pockets").

Mua hahahaha

Worlf Interfaith Day - June 22nd this Tuesday

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 08:41 AM PDT

Peace!

Peace!

This Tuesday June 22nd is World Interfaith Day. I would like to take this opportunity to create awareness of this day of unity and to use it as a platform for Malaysians to get know each other better. We are in a unique position where interfaith understanding can be practiced daily. We have the opportunity to live among Buddhists, Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Sikhs and etc.

Failing to make full use of this environment would be unwise and wasteful. I hope you find ways to promote this day; talk to each other, talk to your family, talk to your children and talk to anyone who is willing to share.

Here's something on education :

Bhagavad Gita 4.38
"Verily there is no purifier in this world like knowledge."

Buddha - Sutta Nipata
"A good, all-round education, appreciation of the arts, a highly trained discipline and pleasant speech; this is the highest blessing."

Confucius
"If you are planning for a lifetime, educate the person."

The Bible Matthew 7:7
"Ask, and it will be given you. Seek, and you will find. Knock and it will be opened for you."

Quran 96.1
"Read in the name of your God!"

Guru Angad -Guru Granth Sahib page 139
"Salvation can only be gained by education and knowledge and not by futile acts or rituals."

Peace, anas

Tengku Razaleigh on Corruption in Malaysia

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 02:09 AM PDT

Below is an extract of the speech by Umno veteran politician Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah at the launch of 'The Shafee Yahaya Story – Estate Boy to ACA Chief', a book written by Shafee's wife Kalsom Taib.

The word 'corruption' comes from a Latin word meaning 'to break' or 'to destroy'. Corruption is a cancer that steals from the poor, eats away at governance and moral fibre, and destroys trust.

Although corruption exists in both the private and public sector, the corruption of the public sector is a more fundamental evil. This is because the public sector is the enforcer and arbiter of the rules that hold us together, the custodians of our common resources.
(Read On)

It is time we recognise corruption as the single biggest threat to our nation. In our economy, corruption is the root of our inability to make the economic leap that we know we are capable of. There is no other reason why a country so blessed with natural resources, a favourable climate and such immense talent should not have done a lot better than we have.

In our political system, corruption is the real reason why our political parties refuse to reform. Some people say the party I belong to has debased a once noble nationalism and a concern with the welfare of marginalised people into a rush for the gravy train.

They also said that the economic development we must bring our people is reduced to nothing more than patronage, and patronage is inflated into a right.

Everyone takes a cut
Therefore, it appears that the root cause is in our political parties. It is an open secret that tender inflation is standard operating procedure. Within the parties and among politicians, it is already an understood matter that party followers must be 'fed'. Politics is an expensive business, after all. Where else are we to get the funds?

Thus, theft of public goods is normalised and socialised among an entire community, and what we had planned to attain by capability is seen by some as something to be attained through politics.

Politicians are the villains in this piece, but they themselves are also trapped. The leadership is trapped because they are beholden to political followers who demand that they are looked after. They demand patronage, and turn the party's struggle for the welfare of a community into their sense of entitlement to that patronage. So they take their slice of the project.

By the time they and each person down the line all the way down to the contractor takes a lot and there is not enough left to do a decent job, bridges collapse, highways crack, stadiums collapse, hospitals run out of medicine, schoolchildren are cheated in their textbooks. Corruption may look to its perpetrators like a crime without victims, but it leaves a trail of destruction.

No domain seems safe. Some say that the humble school canteen is the domain of party branch chiefs. The golf course becomes a favoured way to pass the cash over. We can place bets for RM5,000 a hole. For some reason, one party keeps losing. And there are 18 holes. Money thus obtained is legal. It can be banked in.

We spend billions on the refurbishment of defence equipment; on fighter jets, frigates and submarines. When a supplier lays on an exorbitant commission to some shadowy middleman, that commission is built into the price the government pays. That money comes from the ordinary Malaysian.

Military toys
Military toys are very expensive. I remember from my time in the Finance Ministry. Even then, patrol craft cost about RM280 million each.

We loved Exocet missiles. As minister, I had to sign each time the military fired an Exocet missile for testing.

Every time, we test fired one of them, RM2 million literally went out with a bang.

When the UK went to war against Argentina, the UK government tried to borrow them from us because outside of the UK, we had the most of them in the world. We must have been under some extraordinary military threat which I did not understand.

The list is long: procurement of food and clothing for the military, medicine for hospitals and so on. In all these things, the government has been extraordinarily generous. And paid extraordinarily high prices.

Government servants have to face pressure from politicians who expect to be given these contracts because they need money for politics. This corruption is justified because the party's struggle is sacred. The civil servants can either join the game or be bypassed.

For every government job big or small that goes down, someone feels entitled to a slice of the pie, not because they can do the job, not because they have some special talent or service to offer, but because it is their right.

They do not realise that what they demand is the abuse of power for the sake of personal gain, or party gain. They elect those leaders among themselves who are most capable of playing this game.

So we get as our leaders people who have distinguished themselves not by their ability to serve the public but at their long proven ability to be party warlords, which is to say, distributors of patronage. And that is a euphemistic way of saying that because of corruption the old, stupid and the criminal are elevated to positions of power while young, talented and honest individuals are frozen out.

Game over
Corruption destroys national wealth, erodes institutions and undermines character. And it also destroys the process by which a community finds its leaders.

The consequence of this is that the majority are marginalised. Government contracts circulate among a small group of people. Despite all attempts at control and brainwashing, the majority soon catch up to the game.

This game cannot last forever. The longer it is played the more people hate the government and the governing class. They vote against the government, not for the opposition. They resent the government of the day. In 2008, we saw how the Malaysian people feel about the abuse of power and incompetence caused by corruption.

Since party funding has become the excuse and the vehicle for wholesale corruption, any measure we take to fight it must include the reform of political funding.

It is time we enact a law regulating donations to political parties. Donations must be capped. No donor is to give more than a specified limit, on pain of prosecution. This is to prevent special interests from dominating parties. Such money is source of corruption.

Let us limit political donations by law. On top of that, let the government set up a fund to provide funding to registered political parties for their legitimate operational needs. This money can be distributed based on objective criteria and governed by an independent panel. This would close off the excuse that the parties need to raise political funding through government contracts.

Another idea is that we should freeze the bank accounts of people who are being investigated for corruption. Public servants and politicians are by law required to be able to demonstrate the sources of their assets. Those with suspiciously ample assets should have these assets frozen until they can come up with evidence that they have accumulated them legally.

This may sound harsh, but only because we live in a country in which almost no one ever gets nabbed for corruption. In China, those found guilty are shot.

Impotent MACC
In Malaysia, we read about Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) investigating this and that but there are no convictions. No one has been punished. We are the nation with no consequences. The MACC finds no fault. The courts do not convict. And our newspapers do not have the independence and vigour to follow up.

We have an MACC with no results. It was a good idea to model our anti-corruption agency after one of the most successful in the world, Hong Kong's Independent Commission Against Corruption (ICAC). However we have taken just bits and pieces of that model. So really this will be no more than PR exercise unless we adopt the model wholesale.

We should repeal the Official Secrets Act (OSA) so that people can go to the MACC and the authorities with documentary information on corrupt practice. As things stand, any document which might be incriminating to corrupt public officials is stamped an official secret. A whistleblower risks seven years jail for being in possession of such documents.

We need to identify rot eating through our roots as a nation. It is corruption. We cannot expect the corrupt to embrace reform. It is time for our citizens to stand up and call corruption by its name, and demand reform.

“Gutsy”Cameroon” Out..!!”

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 01:03 AM PDT

No matter how we feel for Cameroon the fact remains that "THEY ARE THE FIRST TEAM TO BE ELIMINATED" in this 2010 World Cup. Cameroon has the distinction of being the first for the wrong reason unlike the winner of this competition in July.

All the first(1st)booking, red card, goal, penalty saved, headed goal etc will be in the annals of this years 2010 World Cup. Immediatedly after the game we tweeted," Cameroon 1st team to be eliminated. Holland through. Denmark v Japan winner enters round 16th. Japan draw they go through goal differance. Congratulations to Holland for being the first team through to round 16th. 15 places left up for grabs ."

It's sad but this world only remembers winners and achievers. Those who losts even by a whisker only share that moment of time while the Accolades will be showered on the Winners.

Cameroon gave us a "Gutsy" display and played their hearts out and we are proud to have witness a very entertaining fast flowing game of football unlike the previous games on offer. The country will mourn their exit from the world cup but they will hopefully come out stronger and better prepared in the years to come.

Who else will follow Cameroon. 15 others will suffer the same FATE.

HAPPY FATHERS' DAY

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 09:51 AM PDT

Happy Fathers' Day or Selamat Hari Bapa to all fathers, bapa, abah, ayah, daddy, dad, pa, appa out there.

I am a father just like you guys and wishing you all the best for another year to come, at least thats the time we all think we have now. Just another 12 months to live, breath, eat, sleep and work like a father and always be like one!

This father is domesticated today, on Sunday which is (usually) our Family Day...

Hopefully we have done our best to be a real good dad all these years, spoiling our kids with everything we have in our wallet (which I have been doing) until mummy comes along to stop the rot! He he he

When in school I was always asked "what do you wanna be when you grow up?". And I always answered "I wanna be like my father, a military man".

Right now if I am asked again, the answer will be "I wanna be like my old man, stay out of trouble and be a good father just like him." I was in military school but was never in service because my father did not approve of me in uniform.

A good father, are we?

Happy Fathers' Day Y'All.... Please Have A Nice Day now....

Bloggers Pondan Sedang Menggelabah. Kesan Projek “Langgar Hadi” Semakin Berjaya?

Posted: 20 Jun 2010 03:52 AM PDT

Tajuk: Hadi Awang enggan beri jaminan gabung PAS-UMNO TIDAK BERLAKU bawah pemerintahan beliau.

Jelas Syed Hussein sendiri tak pernah kata PR tak setuju.

Cukuplah saya bawa dua contoh blogger pondan.

Hahahahah kelakar bila bicara pasal blogger-blogger pondan ni.

Tulang Besi

ADULT CHILDREN WHO ACT LIKE IRRESPONSIBLE KIDS

Posted: 19 Jun 2010 09:20 PM PDT

Yet another case of adult children abandoning their elderly parents has been reported. The MCA is proposing that the names of these irresponsible adult children be named and shamed publicly. How effective would this be, I wonder.

There are probably hundreds of such cases that go unreported. Most abused parents would rather suffer in silence than go public about their ungrateful children. After all, who would want to lose face by dragging their family name through the mud?

Elder abuse is not all about inflicting physical pain and injury on defenseless old people. It can be financial and emotional as well. All of us personally know or have heard of cases where parents have made the mistake of prematurely signing over the title deed of the family home to the adult children, and subsequently find themselves booted out of the home because of lack of space or because the adult children have sold the property without informing them.

The Chinese have a saying that translates as "When the children are big, it is their world". How true, especially when it involves money and property. When elderly parents have to depend on their adult children for a roof over their head or food on the table, they lose all say in matters of importance.

It may sound rather selfish, but retirees must protect their retirement funds and their retirement home. Keep working if you are physically able to do so to be financially independent for as long as possible. There are just too many horror stories of abandoned or abused elderly parents.

The advice to young parents - teach your little children universal values, including filial piety and responsibility. Be good role models yourself. Do not give them a chance to turn around one day and say, "But mom and dad, you never really took care of us when we were young, so don't expect us to take care of you in your old age." And start building your nest egg to avoid having to rely solely on your adult children for future sustenance.

On this cautionary note, Seniorsaloud would like to wish all deserving fathers

Why SG appealing against Karpal Singh's sedition case

Posted: 19 Jun 2010 08:01 PM PDT

Karpal Singh, DAP chairperson, Khalsa warrior, erudite lawyer was accused of sedition against the Perak Sultan in the Perak constitutional imbroglio, which incidentally had prompted former Judge NH Chan to comment that HRH's act in dismissing the State's former MB, Mohd Nizar Jamaluddin, from his post was a show of 'pretend-power'.

Malaysiakini reported that Karpal stated: … legal action could be instituted against the Perak sultan over his role in the state constitutional crisis …

In the sedition case against Karpal, Judge Azman Abdullah dismissed the charges, stating that what Karpal stated was kosher as Section 3(2)(a) of the Sedition Act 1948 provided for an exception, in that any Ruler could be told that he has been misled or mistaken.

What more, the judge said the prosecution had failed to prove Karpal violated section 3(1) of the Act, namely to incite hate and disloyalty against a Ruler. He judged that Karpal had been very clinical, and without malice, in his statement that HRH was mistaken in constitutional matters.

The judgement spelled it out clearly, unmistakenly and in accordance with the law – no disrespect had been directed at HRH, as evident by the provision of Section 3(2)(a) of the Sedition Act 1948.

No disrespect means no seditious act had been committed. HRH's honour had not been tainted, well ... at least legally.

So why is the Solicitor General appealing against the Judge's decision? Why waste taxpayers' money to chase something which was not present in the first place? Why defend an honour which had not been besmirched?

There have been many accusations, chief among which has the popular notion that the authority will get Karpal in its favourite hunting ground, its padang pemati (killing field) so to speak, namely, the Court of Appeals.

But kaytee believes otherwise. Just speculating of course, but has it to do with Anwar Ibrahim's case (Sodomy Mk II) where Karpal is Anwar's lawyer?

As it's World Cup season, may I use the football terminology of a defending team's tactic when a formidable striker of the opposite team has the ball?

I suspect it's a case of 'kacau dia kacau dia' to distract Anwar Ibrahim's leading striker?

Of course all at taxpayers' expense, but then what is this when it's nowhere near the cost of a 'jolly' at Disney World, let alone those RM800 million x 2 projects.
