Najib targets Chinese as key to defeat Zaid Ibrahim

Najib targets Chinese as key to defeat Zaid Ibrahim

Najib targets Chinese as key to defeat Zaid Ibrahim

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 03:50 PM PDT

Last night I posted Hulu Selangor - Indian votes vital where I said that while the Malay votes are crucial to Zaid Ibrahim, the Indian votes would be even more vital.

Of course all these have been based on the premise and perception that the majority of Chinese votes will be for Zaid. The consensus is that 70% of Chinese votes will be cast in favour of the PKR candidate, while daring kaytee ;-) thinks it may even be 75%.

I suppose my daring has been influenced by my take expressed in another of my post
Hulu Selangor's Chinese, where the local MCA has virtually conceded defeat in their campaign for Kamalanathan.

Thus it can be said that the Chinese votes will form the bulwark of Zaid's claim to a seat in Parliament.

It would not be far amiss to say that everyone is aware of this, that the Chinese in Hulu Selangor is becoming the central pillar of Zaid's campaign to represent the rakyat in that constituency.

So it's hardly surprising we now read in The Malaysian Insider's
Hulu Selangor acid test for MCA, says Najib that Najib has started his campaign for Kamalanathan by attempting to chip away at Zaid's central pillar.

Najib has put the onus on MCA to perform rather than pressure the Chinese voters directly. Yes, 'onus' is the appropriate (& perhaps terrifying) word for the new MCA leadership of Chua and Liow.

The Malaysian Insider reported Najib as stating: ... the Hulu Selangor parliamentary by-election is a test for not only his New Economic Model (NEM), it's also a test for the new leadership of MCA. It was a test whether they had the support of the Chinese community or not.

In his usual 'iron fist in a velvet glove' style, he also added in a direct appeal:
"I want the Chinese to join hand-in-hand with the Indians, Malays and other races to move Malaysia forward. We need them to come on board ... we need the Malaysian Chinese to support us."

Leaving aside the dirty tricks campaign (after all, this is a norm in Malaysian politics), isn't Hulu Selangor a wonderful constituency, where the man who commands most of the support of all ethnic groups will be the one who wins.

HULU SELANGOR P94: How to smear someone properly

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 03:33 PM PDT

Pakatan adn Anwar fanboys are all high from screaming theri balls off because some bloggers say Zaid is a drinker...

apparently saying that someone is a drinker is oen of the worst sin anyone can committ...

so is calling someone a gambler, never mind if its true...

so I was wondering why they were so upset.. well I think it's because pro-BN bloggers are doing ti wrong...

if you want to smear someone properly, you have to do it like this

two cents if you can guess who produced these really saintly propaganda materials..

see if you point out someone is a drinker and that person is a BN leader then you will go straight to heaven, your kids will all become PhDs and your wife will suddenly get superpowers in bed as well as superskills in the kitchen...

Najib, who had just touched down from his overseas trip early this morning, said that independent MPs, Datuk Seri Zahrain Hashim and Zulkifli Noordin, had exposed everything to him during their trip to the United States for the Malaysia-US caucus.

"PKR is now in a state of discord because we know all their secrets. In my visit to Washington, two independent MPs followed me – Zahrain and Zul.

"At night, after an official function, he came to my room and exposed all the stories. Now, I know the entire story.

"Everything, right down to the underwear, too. I know everything now," he said in his speech to the Barisan Nasional election machinery at its command centre here tonight.

A smiling Najib warned the opposition against trying to continue "covering up the truth".

"Do not lie. I know everything now. I know how the lies were planned. I know about the political character assassination. I know everything. How do I know? Because they (Zahrain and Zul) were his (Anwar's) generals before. And they told me everything," he said.

Najib, however, refused to divulge the supposed details of what he now "knew" and said that it was enough that "I know, they know, and Allah knows"

STEP 1,EZAM NEED ANUAR SHARI'S HELP TO PLANT SHAIFULAS in Amwar's office boy And RPK mentions Mumtaz Jaafar again today in his Killing Two Birds with One Stone No Holds Barred post, rather cleverly putting forward possible questions (with regard to her connection to the Deputy Prime Minister's wife) that might be raised in court.
Malaysia's Anwar hits out after sodomy trial setback
On 2 September 2004, Pete met Pawanchik Merican, one of Anwar's lawyers, in the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya. "Do you know that Ezam and Anuar Shaari have been collecting money in the name of the Free Anwar Campaign?" Pawanchik asked me. As I said many times. YOU CAN'T TRUST A
Ezam Mohd no no and Anuar saHari. . ., imagine these two thieves collecting money while Anwar Ibrahim is in agony and his family in pain. These two thieves realy capitalise on the sufferings of other people for their own benifit.
One can never trust an UMNO MALAY! True Malays are waiting for the moment to send these fellows to Hell. True Malays follow the religion so well. They can never be bought by any Force. They are fearless and righteous. There are millions of them who will take the Country to where it should be .
Its a matter of time when the last rat slips out of the sinking ship to be clobbered by these True Malays!!
The chain reaction has begun for us to see a new dawn. . MONEY IS THEIR RELIGION. NOT ISLAM You can't trust a BAD MUSLIM MALAY
"A 41-year-old former aide to PKR leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has come forward here to provide police with information to assist them in investigations to trace the whereabouts of Malaysia Today editor Raja Petra Kamarudin"
here it goes. back stabbing and switching allegiance as circumstances change. this is typical of their kind, in their life no such thing as aspiration, no humanity, no integrity, only strategy, expediency and which benefits him more. only good food, sex, look good, big car, glamour, class, this is how low life they are.Go ahead and reveal their names, and let us all pour scorn on low life scums. Now we know why Ezam left to join UMNO, because he has his millions of ill gotten gains stashed -duit haram. . Ezam- try coming to US soon, your name is on the wanted list for fraud.
In 2003 or thereabouts, Anuar Shaari, Ezam Mohd Nor, and two other people who have all since left the opposition, made a trip to the United States. I did not know about it until I received a phone call from a contact in the US. He wanted me to verify who these four people are and whether it is true that they work for the Free Anwar Campaign.
I was caught off guard and did not know how to respond. I lied and said I was in a meeting and whether I could call him back later. I then got in touch with someone who would know what was going on and asked him what was happening.
The person I contacted was surprised that I had found out.
I was of course quite perturbed. The Free Anwar Campaign was just me. I was running the Free Anwar Campaign alone. There were no other people involved in the Free Anwar Campaign. How come there are now four people in the US who are supposedly there on the Free Anwar Campaign business?
The person I spoke to told me why they were there. He then asked me to call back the US and confirm with the person who had called me that the four are legitimate. I did as I was told — but not before I gave that person a piece of my mind and told him I did not like what was going on. Nevertheless, for the sake of the cause I will obey the order.
I then called back the US and told my contact that the four people who were there are legitimate. I also gave him the names of the four people and my US contact confirmed that I was right.
It is important that I confirm that these four are authorised to act on behalf of the Free Anwar Campaign, my US contact informed me. Then he asked me another question. "Is it true that the opposition is very short of money and that if they had a few million Ringgit then the opposition has a better chance of winning the next general election?"
"That is true," I replied.
"Okay," my US contact told me. "Then we will help arrange something for them. Ten or twenty million Ringgit is no problem for us. We can handle that."
That was just before the March 2004 general election. But the tens of millions in election funds were not sent to Malaysia. Instead, it was channelled to Hong Kong. And the March 2004 general election came before the money could be diverted from Hong Kong to Malaysia. And we never heard of the money again. Soon after that Ezam and his gang, which included Anuar Shaari, left the opposition and joined Umno. Some left just before the 2004 general election.
I found out later from a very senior party leader that the money came from George Soros (see more here: http://www.georgesoros.com/). The four in fact personally met Soros in his office. And I was even told who had arranged for the meeting and the subsequent funding.
On 2 September 2004, I met Pawanchik Merican, one of Anwar's lawyers, in the Palace of Justice in Putrajaya. "Do you know that Ezam and Anuar Shaari have been collecting money in the name of the Free Anwar Campaign?" Pawanchik asked me.
"Yes, I know," I replied.
"Did they give you anything?" Pawanchik asked me.
"No, not a sen," I replied.
"I thought so," said Pawanchik. "I was told they are using your name to collect millions and that they did not give you anything. Why don't you close down the Free Anwar Campaign? If not these people will use it to collect money."
My wife who was there agreed with Pawanchik. "That's what I keep telling him but he is so stubborn," added my wife.
"I will never abandon Anwar halfway," I told Pawanchik. "Once Anwar is free then I will close down the Free Anwar Campaign."
"What if he is not freed? What if he spends 15 years in jail? Do you want to continue running the Free Anwar Campaign for another nine years without being paid any salary and allow them to use it to raise money?"
"I suppose so," I responded. "But Anwar will be freed today. So today I can close down the Free Anwar Campaign."
"None of the lawyers think so," said Pawanchik. I just shrugged my shoulders. Two hours later Anwar was freed by the Federal Court and I went home to make my last posting, 'Alhamdulillah, Anwar is now free', and closed down the Free Anwar Campaign.
Yes, that is the story of Ezam Mohd Nor and Anuar Shaari. Of course, I know the identity of the other two who also made that trip to the US, plus the 'fifth man', the man I phoned. I also know the name of the senior party leader who told me that the tens of millions came from Soros. And, invariably, I also know the name of my US contact who set the whole thing up. But as long as they keep their peace with me then I shall keep their secret safe. However, the minute they cross me, then their names will be revealed.

Every election in has been fought on three promises. One: To fight corruption and punish the corrupt. Two: To reduce the generation of black money in the economy and bring it back from wherever it is secretly hoarded overseas. Three: To fight back inflation, bring down prices so that you and I can protect our standard of living instead of fighting a losing battle against inflation every year.Barisan Nasional (BN) has plenty of "ammo" against Pakatan Rakyat (PR) in the upcoming Hulu Selangor by-election, Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said.Since UMNO agreed the handover of power, it is Najib who also became finance minister who has made policy and has taken charge of steering Malaysia through the gathering global economic storm.if you loose this by election that is final nail on political flip flop "During campaigning, all kinds of things will happen but we have plenty of material in our arsenal now Get rid of leaders that enrich themselve at the expense of the inrterest of your communities. Otherwise, malu-lah for the Minister, itu saja pun tak bolih buat! In fact the boss should have stayed firm and ask him to go immediately without allowing him to cakap2 banyak lagi! There is obviously a big deal of embarrassing weakness as well as arrogance in our current government system!Curiously, these are the precise counts on which all Governments fail. They fail not because they make a serious attempt and lose. They fail simply because these promises were never meant to be kept. have always encouraged corruption because that is what oils the huge machinery of power and keeps it running. They also love the corrupt because unlike the languages we speak, Hindi, English, Bengali, Tamil, Marathi, the language of corruption is universal. It binds together parties, alliances, devious political objectives. It's the language politicians, bureaucrats, businessmen understand. It's the actual vocabulary of power. You and I may hate corruption and sneer at it as an ugly thing, but those who play with power love having corrupt people around them. They are the deal makers who fix every problem, cash every political opportunity. Without them, we would lurch from one crisis to the next because blackmail and extortion have become an essential part of the political process today. Most transactions of malaysian's power elite are conducted in dark corners with corruption as its main currency

It is closer to the truth to say that UMNO Baru is on the verge of collapse.

The country's wealth has been tapped out. No more easy money to go around. How long before the piranhas start feeding on each other?

Of course, ordinary Malaysians will continue to suffer but that is the price Malaysians will have to pay due to the misdeeds of UMNO Baru.

Ummi confesses to being the architectthe Anwar sodomy allegation; a purely fabricated charge
During the earlier trial, it was revealed that the Special Branch tried to convince Anwar to "take action" but that Anwar refused, until pressed further by the Director who said it was "for the sake of national security" before Anwar agreed that action be taken.
In a new twist to the Anwar Saga, it was revealed that Ummi Hafilda Ali was the architect behind the accusation that Anwar had sodomised Azizan Abu Bakar. And, for this, she was disowned by her father just months before he died of a broken heart.

Christopher Fernando told the Kuala Lumpur Appeal Court that Said Awang, the Director of the Special Branch, went to meet Azmin Ali, Ummi's brother, who was then Anwar's Chief Private Secretary, to solicit his (Azmin's) assistance to persuade Ummi to retract the allegation that Anwar had sodomised Azizan.

Remember Hisham…..Barisan MPs also pledge loyalty last year…does that show BN also actually had problems

if you thought this was questionable, what about your former boss who had to sent 3/4 quarters of BN MPs to an "educational trip" to Taiwan when September 16 was around the corner?

Najib in first anniversary ONE MALAYSIA as Umno president ..Barisan Nasional (BN) which was consistent in its stand, where leaders who were charged in court had to resign and clear their name first,…" that is because crooks from bn will never be charged even for murder unless the head crooks want to get rid of them. with pakatan, you get charged even if you fart or in anwar case, did nothing. got it dimwit? Just ask the other ambassadors who would not even touch JJ with a long pole. What about the U-turn of GST?? The U-turn of electric tariff hike?? The U-turn of toll hike and best of all the U-turn of a Perlis state assembly man resignation case! BN has over the last few decades consistently taking bribes, under table payments and gets corrupted to its core. Stand in front of the mirror before making anymore statements.B.N is always consistent in corruption, abuse of power dulu..kini dan selamanya….while they still accept Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim (PKR-Permatang Pauh), who is being FRAMED BY UMNO for sodomy "
This trial is a farce internationally. To mention this as a point makes you a farce as well.
"The BN is very clear on this matter. We don't leave any room for ambiguity,"
On this matter? But BN has put the status of all of it's minorities in ambiguous limbo of apartheid and PR intends to put an end to it. Why should any minority vote BN at all?

Just look at the wealth amsssed by crook Taib Mahmud and samy vellu. These despicable people, have no moral, no honour, they will sell the interest of their country and community in order to enrich themselves. They have swindled you for decades. No matter how much of thier wrong doing and corrupt practice have been exposed, they are protected from the law. These crook hyena leaders have a heinounous evil pact with UMNO governemnt — as long as you submit the interest of Sarawak to UMNO government, you can get away with any thing, this is their deal.which we can use in the by-election," Muhyiddin, who is also BN deputy chairman, said the people in Selangor is fed up of the PR government in the state."I am hearing many grouses about the PR government, the people (in Selangor) are regretting voting the PR to be the government in the state (in the last election) and have come to realise that only the BN can deliver the goods. The Inspector-General Tan Sri Musa Hassan has acted with unusual alacrity when he announced in less than 24 hours that the police will investigate claims made by the independent Kulim-Bandar Baharu MP Zulkifli Noordin in Parliament on Wednesday that he was asked to implicate the Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak and his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor in the murder of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibu. this is a bomb our first kadycan can answer it said Muhyiddin YassinNotwithstanding Musa holding the PM by the balls over the Altantuya macabre, Hishammuddin must show him the Home Minister is still the immediate boss over PDRM!

Information Communication and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim is convinced

Ambulance In An Election

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 11:24 AM PDT

One very common sight which you will see in the previous by-elections as well as this by-election in Hulu Selangor is the number of Ambulances on the road.

We suspect that these Ambulances are being used to ferry the umno people and when there is a traffic jam they will be blaring their sirens and cutting through traffic.

Is this legal? Isn't it a gross disregard and misuse of public amenities?

Please be extra careful during an election as there will be no ambulances for you, they are all too busy ferrying umnoputras.

Check out these photos of all the different Ambulances taken in just one day around the district Hulu Selangor.

Destitute in Bukit Beruntung

Poverty hit families continue to look for ways to make ends meet even as political parties pump money into the constituency to garner support. Malaysiakini visited two Indian families in Bukit Beruntung to see how they are coping with life. A 19-year old youth N Anbalagan is paralysed from waist down since birth has never stepped his foot into a school. "I would love to study but my disabilities prohibits me from doing so," he said when met at his home in Taman Sentosa, Bukit Beruntung. Reported by K Pragalath

PRK Hulu Selangor - UMNO banyak membantu Zaid

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 11:34 AM PDT

Squeaky Clean Kamalanathan? By Umno Standard Kot

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 09:20 AM PDT

Kamalanathan Licking Durian Off Patches Hand
Blatant Lie
This, Kamalanathan was told, was illustrated once when he kissed the hand of Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin and when he promised to deliver Hulu Selangor as a "gift" to Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Since being named as a candidate, he has also defended Malay rights group Perkasa, a move that earned him plenty of criticism.
A shocked-looking Kamalanathan immediately replaced his smile with a frown and quickly defended his move.
"Kiss his hand? When did I kiss his hand? Show me where I did that," he exclaimed, looking miffed when asked at an unplanned press conference in Ladang Kerling near here.
Unwarranted Lie
P. Kamalanathan's CV says he received an overseas education at the Edith Cowan University and was awarded a Bachelor of Mass Communication.
The Australian university, however, has no records of him ever going there.
Mother Of All Lies
When contacted, the 44-year-old Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate for the Hulu Selangor by-election explained that he had entered a twining programme with Olympia College in Kuala Lumpur, and was subsequently awarded a degree from Edith Cowan University. "I never said I went overseas," he told The Malaysian Insider, adding that a scanned copy of his degree from the university would be up on his website, pkamalanathan.com, within 24 hours.
Scanned copy within 24hours?
Kamalanathan, I am holding a degree from Edith Cowan University. I can lease it out to you for a fee in case you need it. Send me an email. In less than 4 hours, you can have it up on your blog. Or perhaps you can try buying it online where they can make duplicate of degree from any universities in the world that looks like original.

Bakun Dam is GOING to be another WHITE elephant….

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 06:57 AM PDT

taib-mahmudThe whole 15 Billion Ringgit Bakun dam project (Supposed to produce 2400 M w) was conceived by corrupt Mahathir to steal the 10 Billion ringgit worth of Timber from the Chief Minister of Sarawak Taib Mahmud who "owns" all the Timber in Sarawak. The timber from the forest the size of Singapore ( otherwise would be extracted by the CM) is now stolen by Mahathir as Bakun is a federal project. Mahathir asked his favorite crony Ting Pek King to extract the Timber. Ting Pek King subcontracts the extraction to Hii Cham Pee who underreported the volume extracted thereby 'cheating' Ting. Mr.Hii subsequently had a high profile court case with Ting. That is another story. Now Bakun can provide enough electricity to supply Sarawak's need 4 times over. Yet Taib Mahmud wants to build another dam Murun. Why? Taib's company CMS is producing the cement! And he also controls and profit from the steel imports! Now Sarawak electrical company Sesco is now privatized and owned by the CM Taib and his ministers who call it Sarawak Synergy Bhd. Taib does not want to buy the electricity from Bakun because of his Timber 10 billion worth was stolen by Mahathir, therefore he wanted to build another 900 M v Murun dam upstream from Bakun costing 5 billion (1/3 the size of Bakun) Now Murun is 10% completed and need more funds which international banks will not lend to Taib's company Sarawak Synergy because it is privately owned by Taib and his cabinet. So Taib now wants to reverse 'privatize' the Sarawak synergy company after striping the assets to the government of Sarawak and then obtain loans from foreigners. So they say Rio Tinto an Australian co is interested to use the Bakun electricity which is not true. Then they say a Chinese co maybe keen. This is a lie as the federal groups now realize Bakun is becoming a white elephant.

Now the 600 mile cable from Bakun to west Malaysia has to pass 70% of the way near few islands owned by Indonesia and only 30% of the way is Malaysia owned. So Indonesia has not given permission and is also not keen on to buy Bakun electricity as it cannot afford. There is not a single company in the world who can make a 600 mile long cable. The electricity loss would be tremendous. (80 %?) and the earth quakes would break the cable. Sabotage and damage due to ships anchors and other passing ships have to be factored in. I would not be surprised Bakun will produce electricity in few years time but remain a white elephant – much to the credit of the reckless and corrupt PM Mahathir with many stupid ideas and corrupted CM of Sarawak Taib Mahmud who is reputed to be one of the richest men on earth.

Trouble Brewing Over Engkilili Seat

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 06:41 AM PDT

By Roselind Jarrow

KUCHING: Sarawak National Party secretary-general, Stanley Jugol is prepared to defend the seat in the coming election.

"However, we are yet to sit down with Pakatan partners to discuss the candidacy for the seat," Jugol said when contacted by FMT. He said Engkilili was SNAP's traditional stronghold.

In the 2006 state election, SNAP put up a candidate, Johnichal Rayong, who defeated Jonathan Krai of Sarawak United People's Party (SUPP).

"So we are interested in defending the seat, if we are allowed to do so. And we have every chance of retaining the seat for the Pakatan," said Jugol.

But Rayong, after winning the seat, deserted SNAP and wanted to join Sarawak Progressive Democratic Party, but his application was opposed by leaders of Parti Pesaka Bumiputra Bersatu and SUPP.

He then tried to join Parti Rakyat Sarawak when he learnt that the seat might be given to PRS to contest under a swapping agreement with SUPP. His overture was also rejected.

Since then Rayong, he said, had been knocking on the doors of the Barisan Nasional and has been seen around with BN elected representatives.

Now Rayong is interested to contest on a SUPP ticket and has asked the SUPP leadership to conduct a referendum to find out whether he has the support of the people of Engkilili.

Jugol said: "I agree with Rayong he should respect the wishes of the people especially those who had voted for him in the 2006 State election.

"You contested on a SNAP ticket and were elected by the people who were SNAP members or those who shared SNAP's political aspirations," Jugol said, when asked to comment on a statement made by Rayong.

"He should respect the wishes of the people who elected him not because he was Rayong, but because he stood for SNAP and its policies," Jugol stressed.

Rayong last week reminded SUPP leaders that the voice of the people of Engkilili State constituency should be respected by all quarters especially 'outsiders'.

He had expressed regret over the attitude of certain quarters that were bent on dismissing the voice of the people.

He also regretted the view held by the senior leadership of Sarawak United People's Party on the choice of the Engkilili constituency in the coming election.

"The people of Engkilili have the right to voice out their hope to determine which local candidate would be suitable to be chosen as Barisan-SUPP candidate," Rayong had said.

Meanwhile, SUPP members of Engkilili branch are at logger heads with each other over the "Rayong issue".

"The committee is split into two factions, one is being headed by the chairman Toh Heng San who is against Rayong's contesting on a SUPP ticket, and the other led by the branch deputy chairman Sibat Krutap who is pro-Rayong," said an observer.

Rumours have been circulated in Engkilili, Simanggang and Lubok Antu that some committee members and even members of the branch have threaten to resign en bloc if Rayong is to be SUPP's candidate.

SaVe Sarawak, SaVe Malaysia, Says Anwar

SIBU: The newly formalised Pakatan Sarawak's battle cry is "Save Sarawak, Save Malaysia". And in the process, said Opposition Leader Anwar Ibrahim, "we will be saving our children".

Anwar also noted that despite Sarawak being the richest state in Malaysia with it oil and gas, timber and resources, its people were the poorest in the country.

"This is because its resources have been squandered by the BN leaders and they are very rich. They give projects, tenders and contracts to themselves, to their wives and their children.

"They take away people's land. Now what do the ordinary people have? Nothing!" he said, when he addressed more than 2,000 people at a dinner over the weekend in Sibu.

"In order to save Sarawak, save Malaysia and our children, I ask you to support Pakatan Rakyat. You vote the DAP candidate in this Bandar Sibu by-election.

"You will not go to jail by supporting us. I am the one they want to send to jail; they have beaten me, stripped me naked, and accused me of this and that. They want me to surrender.

"But I will tell you I will not surrender," Anwar declared.

Urging them to play smart politics, Anwar said: "If the BN gives you money, you must ask for more, if the BN gives you projects, you must ask for bigger projects. But remember, you must vote for the DAP candidate."

Lim Kit Siang, DAP national adviser, who also spoke at the dinner called on people of Bandar Sibu to vote for change.

"You must elect a DAP candidate in the Bandar Sibu by-election. And that is very important.

"We must win it so that we can shake the foundation of Barisan Nasional to its root," he said.

DAP candidate to announced later

He admitted that it was difficult to win in the by-election, due to be held on May 16, as they are against the whole machinery of the BN state government.

"But with determination, nothing is impossible. You have done it before when you elected a DAP candidate against SUPP chairman and deputy chief minister Wong Soon Kai in 1982.

"Can you do it again this time?" he asked, pointing out that the victory here will be an indication of the support of the people for the Pakatan.

"From Sibu we begin our journey of change and it will certainly spread to other parts of Sarawak and to whole of Malaysia.

"Our victory will not only shake the foundation of the BN to its root, but it is also paving the way for the Pakatan Rakyat to march to Putrajaya and form the next Federal government," he added.

PAS deputy President Nasaruddin Mat Isa who also spoke at the function described politics practised by the BN as very "dirty".

He accused the BN of failing to fulfill many of the promises they made to the people.

The three leaders were in Sibu to select a candidate for the by-election and they had agreed that DAP will put a candidate on behalf of the Pakatan.

Meanwhile, the name of the Pakatan-DAP candidate will be announced at an appropriate time by the Sarawak DAP chairman Wong Ho Leng.

The Sarawak United People's Party has picked up Robert Lau Hui Chew as its candidate for the by-election. Nominations will be held on May 8.

The by-election is caused by the death of MP for Bandar Sibu and Deputy Minister of Transport Robert Lau on April 9.

BN Leaves A Mess. As Usual

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 07:06 AM PDT

It's not like there were heaps of BN supporters.

There was just a handful.

And yet, between them, they managed to leave a mess behind.

I'm also guessing I picked up the tab for the unnecessary BN label on the mineral water.

Rates waiver for unoccupied shoplots

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 02:59 AM PDT

Selangor Menteri Besar Khalid Ibrahim has rolled out good news for owners of unoccupied shoplots in two housing areas in Hulu Selangor, but denied this is a by-election sweetener. They need not pay the annual assessment charge from May 1, provided they are not earning any income from the property."We decided on this considering that many owners of shoplots and business premises in Bukit Beruntong and Bukit Sentosa are not getting returns as their property is unoccupied, he told a press conference after chairing a state exco meeting in Shah Alam.

HULU SELANGOR P94: Muhyiddin intensifies campaigning

Posted: 21 Apr 2010 06:20 AM PDT

For the past week we have seen Barisan Nasional deputy chairman, Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin become more fiery with every passing day as he steps up the campaigning in Hulu Selangor.

So far the campaigning in this large, mostly rural constituency has been a rather strange affair.

For once it looks like Barisan Nasional is catching up and even exceeding Pakatan in terms of spirit and campaigning chutzpah.

In fact they may even be winning the campaign poster.

Those who have been on the ground for the week would have noticed how the crowds are thinning at Pakatan rallies and swelling at BN ceramahs... but that is not to say that BN ceramah are huge hits, there are just more people attending them now than before.

Umno have been unloading their big guns in Hulu Selangor, speakers like Tan Sri ISa Samad, Datuk Muhamamd Aziz of Seri Gading and Muhyiddin are just a few of the big ticket names that have kept the crowd glued to their seats.

If rumour has it right, former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir would also make a contribution tomorrow.

Anyway, have a gander at this video of Muhyiddin in Ulu Yam Baru as he welcomes Datuk Dr Halili Rahmat, the nation's top neurosurgeon and former PKR Hulu Yam division treasurer who left the party on Tuesday.

As a result of Dr Halili's decision the Ulu Yam branch of PKR will no longer campaign for the party during the by election, they have thrown their support behind local star Halili...

Dr Halili's father, an Umno stalwart who lives a stone's throw from the event venue  also came to welcome his son back to the fold. It was quite a touching and emotional moment
