The Malaysian Insider - MCA turns to Najib after Chinese shut-out

Malaysiakini - Intense battle for Chinese votes [more appropriate title should have been: Intense battle by MCA for Chinese votes]

The MCA has virtually admitted the Chinese votes in Hulu Selangor have been lost to Pakatan.

A typical local MCA comment: "It's not easy for us. Every time we enter a new village, we got scolded. Therefore, we have to improve our strategy by getting more leaders from the MCA divisions throughout the country to help us."

They are also crying out for Najib to win the Chinese votes.

Next, they will appeal to Najib to choose their election candidates. WAIT, sorry about that – my bad. UMNO has already decided for MCA who their leaders should be, so it's automatic that in the next general election, the MCA candidates will be a la Kamalanathan.

'People first' hypocrisy

Azmin on Halili defection: Nothing explosive

Posted: 20 Apr 2010 09:22 AM PDT

Umno is desperate. Every single person who leaves the party (PKR) is being welcomed (with open arms). They can have these sort of characters. We have to move on. What's important are those members who are still in the party. PKR leaders are committed to the cause and will continue with the present struggle. This should be the priority. I don't think that it is a fair statement to assume Dr Halili left because he was not selected. We gave him an opportunity to contest under the Keadilan banner in 1999. Of course he lost. But he should have continued to engage with the people of Hulu Selangor, which he did not. It was difficult for us to (select him as candidate) because he had distanced himself from the people of Hulu Selangor (HS) over all these years. It would not be fair to voters in HS... Even (after) he lost, he did not spend time to engage with people on the ground. The loss is not as 'explosive' as what the Deputy Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin had claimed it to be. We will have to go down and explain to the voters as to our position and our objectives. Locals, those who know Halili, knew he has distanced himself from them over the years. Sarawak Dayak Iban Association Meeting in Sri Aman

We are all "Pendatang" but who actually was here first?-the historical facts.!!!

Posted: 20 Apr 2010 07:55 AM PDT

Contributed By Krishna Singh

Now that Ahmad Ismail's 3 year suspension has been lifted and the HERO of UMNO's racism has been readmitted, lets look again at some of the Archeological findings which present evidence of which race is the actual "Pendatang".............

Subject: Kota Gelanggi (lost city)

A small piece of History for our future generation..Why Kota Gelanggi (lost city) touted as earliest civilization in Malay Peninsula news were banned as they were Buddhist.

The Johor find of 2005 which was quietly dropped was none other than Kota Gelanggi lost city reflecting Srivijaya and its Buddhist splendour. But they deliberately disregarded it because that would have sidelined Malacca Empire and Islam which was smaller and came some 500 years later. I met Dr Lee Kam Hing, a former History prof at MU in Singapore recently at a seminar.Dr Lee, who is now Star research director, told me he was trying his best to highlight Kota Gelanggi, but that the govt killed it off. This is clearly another case to cover up the real history of Malaya and fool the younger generations into believing that our history only began from Malacca 1400.. Not only that, they try to show Parameswara as Malay and Muslim, but actually he was Hindu! If one were to condemn these UMNO scumbags on how they distort history, it will never end......the condemnations will more than cover 10 PhD thesis!

A small piece of History for our future generation Hitler's public relations manager, Goebbels, once said, 'If you repeat a lie often enough, it becomes the truth.'

Once again our government wiped out any references to a famous Melaka prince as being Hindu and belonging to the powerful Hindu empire Sri Vijaya.So all of a sudden our museums, school text-books etc. all refer to Parameswara as a Malay prince.

What race ruled or did not rule is besides the point. What is important is not butchering history to create your own truths. You cannot change your race even if you convert - Parameswara could have been responsible for Umno's proud heritage of ' Ketuanan Melayu '.

If this is what it is based on, there is no ' Ketuanan Melayu '. The lineage of Melaka Sultans are Indians, not Malays.
It is no secret that Parameswara was an Indian and a Hindu prince.

It is clear from records that Parameswara never converted to Islam. He was an Indian Hindu who fled Palembang in Sumatra to eventually found Melaka circa 1400 AD. It was Sri Maharaja who converted himself and the court of Melaka to Islam, and as a result took on the name of Sultan Muhammad Shah sometime after 1435...

The most famous of Indian Hindu Kings were Raja Chola and his son Rajendra Chola who invaded Southern Thailand, Kedah, Perak, Johor and Sumatra about 1000 AD. This is Raja-raja Chola - the Indian/Hindu kings and not Raja Chulan - a Malay king. But what is really sad is that our children are taught as though Malaysian history suddenly began in 1400 with an Islamic Melaka.

We are led to believe that the Indians and Chinese first arrived on the shores of Malaysia in about 1850 as desperate indentured labourers, farmers and miners . Nothing could be further from the truth.

The cultural influences of India in particular, and China, in South East Asia span over 2,000 years, starting with the arrival from India of the Brahmanical prince/scholar - Aji Saka in Java in AD78, through to Vietnam, Cambodia (Indo China), Thailand,Burma, Indonesia, Bali, Borneo, Brunei and beyond.

The findings at Bujang Valley speak of an ancient Indian/Hindu presence in Kedah. There were Chinese settlements in Pahang and Kelantan around the 13th-14th century and in 12th century in Singapore .

The early Brunei Sultanate had a Chinese Queen. One need not ponder at length the implications of Angkor Wat and Borobudur or that 40%-50% of Bahasa Malaysia comprises Sanskrit/Tamil words. To illustrate, some of these word are :

bumi = boomi
putra = putran
raja = rajah
desa = thesam
syakti = sakthi
kolam = kulam
bahaya = abahya
jaya = jeya
maha = maha
aneka = aneha
nadi = naadi
kedai = kadai
mahligai = maaligai
mantra = manthrum
tandas = sandas
(This list can go on)

An extremely important archeological find that pointed to one of the greatest empires in history - the Raja Cholan empire that ruled from the Maldives through India , Sri Lanka and right down to South East Asia found deep in the jungles of Johor a few years ago and made headlines in the mainstream newspapers in 2005, suddenly disappeared from the news…..

The time has arrived for us to record our history as the facts tell us and not as we would like to wish it.

The truth will never hurt anyone. Lies, always will .

Datuk Hee? So 'Hee-larious'! - By Martin Jalleh.

Posted: 20 Apr 2010 08:18 AM PDT

It was an historic occasion for Hee Yit Foong. She was bestowed the honorary title "Datuk" by his Highness the Sultan of Perak, Sultan Azlan Shah, on the occasion of his 82nd birthday.

Hee must have been "hee-elated". It was the high point of her life after having gone through the depths of great public humiliation and to contend with the hate heaped on her especially by Perakians.

Indeed, she has been hounded and abuses have been hurled on her when she did the hop-step-and-jump political dance. She hopped out of her party, stepped on the people's will and jumped into the waiting arms of the BN as an "independent".

During a State Assembly meeting, several DAP lawmakers gave her hell, threw RM1 notes at her and told her to resign as they said she had no honour left for selling her soul and State away!

Some in her Jelapang constituency hung an effigy of her and burnt it in a mock Chinese funeral rite! Others wanted to get their hands on her whose defection from DAP triggered BN's takeover of Perak.

Hee was hoping that the people would be hoodwinked by her hee-haw over how she was supposedly shunned, smeared, sidelined and "squeezed out of the DAP step-by-step" by its party leaders.

She denied that she had left the party because she was hankering after a state exco seat and huffing and puffing and making a hue and cry over not being given a new Camry!

The DAP called her excuses pure humbug. They had not only groomed her to such great heights in politics but made her the first non-Malay, female and physically-disabled deputy speaker in the country's history.

In February, Zambry harped about Hee's "service record" and asked Perakians to give her "a chance to serve" as an assemblywoman. The rakyat of course saw no reason to give heed to the bogus MB!

Alas, the people are humoured by the State's high recognition of Hee through the Sultan. What did she do to deserve being conferred such a title? What is the hidden reason for the crowning of this overnight "heeroine" of Zambry's "State Government"?

Zambry's hype about Hee's "service record" does not really hold. Soon after she had hopped over to be independent of the people's will and vote, she went into hiding in order to save her own hide.

Till today she has holed herself up. Her constituents in Jelapang confirm she is in hibernation. The DAP has formed the Jelapang Service Team (JST) to handle the needs of her constituents.

Further, how has Hee performed in the State Assembly? Has she contributed significantly to the debates (considering her halting Bahasa Malaysia) and to policy making? The answer is very obvious.

Two highlights of Hee's contribution do stand out.

First, when she became "hee-sterical" and insisted that she had the power as deputy speaker to chair the Perak state assembly to get Ganesan (illegally) elected as the new speaker in the chaotic sitting.

The other instance was when she flashed a pepper spray at a PR assembly member in the House. She denied doing it but her histrionics in the State Assembly were captured on YouTube!

Surely the public cannot be blamed for its strong hunch that Hee's datukship has very much to do with her role in helping the BN hijack the Perak State Government.

Hee Yit Foong will remain haunted for the rest of her life for having committed the "hee-nious" crime of betraying the trust of those who voted for the party that she once represented.

As Hee makes hay while the sun shines, it is very clear that she will be history when the next general election comes!

For now the rakyat of Perak has to bear up with the new Datuk's "hee-pocrisy"!

15 Dalil Mengapa BN Akan Tewas Di Hulu Selangor

Posted: 20 Apr 2010 07:48 AM PDT

Oleh Anak Mami

Kamalanathan merupakan calon 'kompromi' UMNO - MIC.Dia bukan pilihan utama BN , tetapi kerana persengketaan antara UMNO-MIC memberikan laluan kepada Kamalanathan untuk menjadi calon 'korban' mangsa UMNO.Ini 10 sebab dia akan kalah teruk ;

4.Kamalanathan gagal memperjuangkan sentimen akar umbi MIC yang mahukan pemimpin berani dan bukan satu lagi 'puppet' UMNO.Buktinya ;

7.Palanivel sudah membuat kenyataan bahwa ;

Zaid is a rejected political product

Posted: 20 Apr 2010 06:15 AM PDT

YES, Zaid is a rejected product. When he was the MP for Kota Bharu, he failed to deliver. On top of that, he screwed many things, including the new Umno building there which was said to be over-budget.

I agree with what Kelantan Umno chief Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed said in Hulu Selangor today that Zaid Ibrahim did not make any effort to solve the people's problem after winning the general election in 2004. Because of that, he was dropped in the 2008 polls (read here).

And now, this reject is trying to be a hero for Hulu Selangor, a constituent he himself is not familiar with. PKR, in the eyes of many Hulu Selangor voters, fielded a wrong candidate for the April 25 by-election. Minus his drinking habit (of which he claimed he has quit), Zaid is the best man for a losing and desperate team.

Pakatan Rakyat could have chosen someone local and with credence, instead of a rejected product who is not anymore welcome by Umno. That's why PR saved his politics of 'corporate and legalistic entity' - he refuses to take advise and is only interested for others to listen to him.

He will eventually become a 'pain in the arse' for PR in general and to PKR, specifically. During his tenure as a Minister at the Prime Minister's Department, he actually wanted a senior minister post, which prompted him to 'revolt' against the then Prime Minister Abdullah Ahmad Badawi.

Anwar Ibrahim parachuted him from Kelantan to Selangor, hoping for Zaid's 'unpleasant' track record to fool the voters.

Nobody knows how long he can get along with people like Anwar Ibrahim, Lim Kit Siang and Karpal Singh, whom he used to lambast when he was with Umno. Being an egoist, Zaid may cause big problems to PR.

Should Hulu Selangor's voters pick him as their Member of Parliament, they will end up like the people of Kota Bharu - neglected and toyed around.

Some advice on pantang's about SNAP

Posted: 20 Apr 2010 05:39 AM PDT

Malaysiakini - Snap officially joins Pakatan Rakyat.

My advice to Anwar Ibrahim and Pakatan's leaders on this – for f* sake, don't try to lord over the Sarawakians or be patronising to them.

Nothing pisses a Sarawakian and a Sabahan more than a Peninsula-an talking down to them or trying to 'teach' them what to do.

Coordinate, certainly; discuss, okay, but don't ever try to be bossy.

Keep Tony B-LIAR out of Malaysia

Posted: 20 Apr 2010 03:31 PM PDT

Tony B-LIAR is a war criminal, principally because of his hubris. And he's coming to Malaysia because a Singapore company says so.

According to Malaysiakini's Activists want Blair banned from entering M'sia The Malaysian Islamic NGOs Consultation Council, a coalition representing 26 Islamic groups, said they opposed Blair's presence in Kuala Lumpur because of his role in the 2003 United States-led invasion of Iraq.

Well, it's not just Islamic NGOs, I too don't him in Malaysia.

But what galls me is that a foreign company can decide whether he comes or not. MIKINI reported:

Blair's hosts, a Singapore-based company called Success Resources, insisted that he would attend Saturday's gathering in Kuala Lumpur. He is slated to deliver a 90-minute speech on leadership to more than 3,000 participants before leaving for Singapore for a similar talk.

"Yes, he is coming. Malaysia is still a very safe place, everyone is entitled to their opinion as long as you don't break the rule or hurt anyone," Richard Tan, the company's chief executive officer, told AFP from Singapore.

WTF is this Sing character Richard Tan to tell Malaysians about who we want in our country and what we can or cannot do!

Dr M: All's fair in love, war... and elections

Posted: 20 Apr 2010 02:41 AM PDT

All's fair in love and war, and in elections, said former premier Dr Mahathir Mohamad. He was referring to the smear campaign against Hulu Selangor by-election candidate Zaid Ibrahim, doctored pictures of whom have appeared in BN-friendly blogs. Mahathir, a veteran of election campaigns since his first election as MP in 1964, pointed out that he, too, had been at the receiving end of such tactics. Saya dulu pun kena macam-macam (I, too, have been hit with all sorts of attacks). Last time, someone said I had a (second) Chinese wife, in Singapore. "That's politics," he quipped.

The Rosomak

The much more lethal Rosmah

The story in The Star says that Naza's defence division has launched a Armoured Modular Vehicle and called it the Rosomak 8x8!!! I don't think the 1st lady will be pleased with that close resemblance to her name. Especially since it is no sleek sports car but a big-assed 8x8 armoured vehicle which its manufacturer claims weighs between 18 and 26 tonnes and can withstand explosions up to 10 kg (22lb) TNT.

:-) I thought we could all use a giggle.
