"We got it under control"… these were the very words by our Home Minister when he organised a press conference with the police this afternoon.  Just listen how he 'defended' the Men in Blue by 'playing' down  the seriousness of church arson.

"You (only) have one major incident (Metro Tabernacle Church) over the past four days and the only thing that happened (today) is the burning of a door (in Seremban). Clearly, we have managed to stabilise the situation."

Come on kerismudin… if you're talking of a rubbish bin door, nobody would care so much. What kind of bullsh*t you're talking about? ONE MAJOR incident while the rest were nothing but MINOR incidents? How could you be such a irresponsible by playing down the significant of churches arson which were happening again and again right in front of your eyes?

We have to treat such incident with 'grave concern' as any attack on any faith in this country represent an attack on ALL religions! How can we as united Malaysians allow our beloved country to be intimidated by terrorist acts in order to get things done their way? How can we allow our mind to be distracted from those 'super corruptions' in our country by some groups of moronic maniacs who are only good at playing the race & religion cards?

Kerismudin has again and again failed the nation with his not-so-smart antics of handling press conferences and like his predesasor, has been making himself a big fool by putting his 'stinking' foot into his  mouth everytime he opens it…

"….. I was invited to a CLOSED door meeting with Datuk Seri Dr. Hj. Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department and in charge of Islamic Affairs, Government of Malaysia, day before yesterday at the Shangrila Putrajaya. The meeting took place at 9pm at a designated meeting hall in the exclusive hotel. The invitation to me was relayed by Rocky Bru @ Ahiruddin Atan, President of All Blogs to discuss amongst many other topics, the problem being created by the publishers of the Malaysian Roman Catholic Magazine 'Herald' who remain OBSTINATE in using the term 'Allah' to represent their idea of God in their Malay section of their Christian magazine. Fellow blogger Nuraina Samad who blogs at http://nursamad.blogspot.com, the daughter of National Laureate, Allahyarham Tan Sri Samad Ismail, was also there and two other bloggers who wish to remain anonymous. Rocky Bru and Nuraina Samad…. have asked me to join forces with them in clearing the air about what our stand is against the Christian Catholic magazine usage of 'Allah'. Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also said that he wishes to have those of us who attended the meeting at Shangrila Putrajaya to be ready to have an audience with His Majesty, the Yang Di Pertuan Agong soon to address this current situation where Islamophobia has been festering for quite some time without the decisive corrective action be taken by those before him? Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi also asked not to let the cat out of the bag for now for we have enemies both in and out of the ummah. Anwar realized only too well the potential dangers of stoking the religious fire. To emphasize his point, Anwar called for restraint and urged his followers not to participate in the planned Friday demonstrations. It was a particularly prescient call. Anwar must have read Najib, Hishammuddin and all the other characters in UMNO well; he knew their mischievous if not evil intent. Malaysians, specifically Malays, are becoming more sensible or the restraint urged on by Anwar and the others had an impact, for come Friday the demonstrations were definitely muted. The egging-on by UMNO leaders fell flat; instead the rotten eggs landed on the faces of UMNO leaders.related articleREAD MORE CLICK HERECan Najib dismisses Bala's claims on his sms to SHAFEE ABDULLAH FIXING judge to buttress the evidence.: FIXING BAGINDA'S FREEDOM

The exemplary stand of the opposition leaders was a stark contrast to the mischievous if not downright dangerous antics of UMNO leaders. The contrast did not end there. Immediately following the tragic incident, Selangor Pakatan Mentri Besar Khalid Ibrahim visited the charred church. His was a much needed and very comforting presence, as well as a deeply symbolic gesture. It was a spontaneous yet splendid demonstration of common sense and deep concern for your fellow citizens, as well as of leadership.READMORE CLICK THIS May be Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Musa Hassan was preparing his dossier rosmah& najib to renew his contract with the help of the carpetman
Najib's bag of tricks was so crude that even foreign observers saw through it. "The real reason UMNO is politicizing the issue and pandering to its conservative base," wrote the Wall Street Journal, "may be to deflect attention from its own political vulnerabilities."
Najib had every reason to want to change the horrible headlines that were damaging his leadership, the latest being the jet engines stolen from a military base. The theft occurred during Najib's tenure as Defense Minister but was only recently being made public.
That was not the only serious lapse of security during Najib's tenure as Defense Minister. There was the spectacular and potentially devastating collapse of the naval base in Pularek just before its official opening. And to balance things out, there was the lethal attack on the army base in Grik, Perak, by a band of sarong-clad Al Maunah gang members. This recent revelation of the stolen jet engines was merely part of Najib's trademark pattern of incompetence.
Thus far Najib is determined to repeat that same pattern as Prime Minister, except that he has now progressed beyond incompetence to being sinister.
It is downright malicious for Najib, Hishammuddin and others in UMNO to attempt at dividing Malaysians by needlessly treading on our religious sensitivities. Najib's "1Malaysia" campaign has barely begun and he has already made a mockery of the ideal.
Specifically, Najib's attempt to split Muslims in the opposition parties was brazen, crude and potentially destructive. There were initial intimations that his dirty scheming would work, what with the mainstream media continually harping on the supposed differences among the leaders of PAS and Keadilan over this issue. Najib and others must have been licking their chops, savoring the 'brilliance' of their strategy while remaining oblivious of the dangerous forces that they had unleashed.
Thankfully this time around Malaysians are far ahead of their leaders; we did not fall for this ugly and dangerous ploy. I am heartened that even UMNO's own New Straits Times felt emboldened enough not to defend the administration on this matter.
In a thoughtful commentary, Rehman Rashid not too subtly reminded us of the terrible mess we found ourselves in with this manufactured crisis. Left unstated is the role of our leaders in leading us to be where we are today. Of course it would be too much to expect the mainstream media, specifically NST, to explore that. Under the circumstance, Rehman has gone as far as he could, and I applaud him for that.
In his piece Rehman wrote, "Debilitating dogmas need to be debunked, political parasites purged, and Little Napoleons stripped naked and hounded out of town." Strong words! At least he has demonstrated that sycophantic editors (or at least their toadying editorials) are out too!
The nation suffered terribly in 1969; that national tragedy was instrumental in elevating Tun Razak to the nation's top post. We should never risk our nation to another tragic episode under the inept and sinister leadership of his son.
We must not let Najib and his UMNO cahoots continue their bag of dirty tricks upon us. The fire next time might not be so easily contained. The conflagration then could rip us all apart. Let us not even contemplate giving them another chance; we have had enough!
1. PKFZ scandals that he could not dismantle.
2. Grand theft of jet engine took place under his charge when he was the defence minister, he knows no
person with sound mind could accept the reason that it was the work of 2 ikan belis.

Understanding about God, from an Islamic Perspective

By Tamim Saidi,Engage Minnesota

Tamim Saidi

Tamim Saidi

I still vividly remember one of my very first Islam 101 presentations shortly after the tragic events of September 11, 2001. It was in a school auditorium in one of the northern Twin Cities suburbs.

Immediately after the teacher introduced me and before I had finished my first sentence, I noticed a hand raised high from a young man who asked, "Why is your God better than my God?"

I was rather surprised by this question so early in the presentation, as I had planned to talk about the Islamic understanding of God around the middle of my presentation. I tried to explain that Muslims believe in the One and the only God, the Creator of the universe–the same God that Jews and Christians believe in. I further explained that Muslims believe in the same God that the Prophet Abraham, peace be upon him (p) believed in. We worship the same God that spoke to Moses (p) and we pray and prostrate to the very same God that Jesus (p) prayed to and prostrated to; the same God that created Adam and Eve and the same God that saved Noah (p) from the flood.

So my God is your God and your Creator is my Creator, even though we might explain God in different terms. Understanding this could have saved thousands of lives, and could have helped people of different faiths grow closer together.

"Not angoor, not aynab, I want grapes!"

While in college, a classmate and I were walking to the library after taking a test. As the topic turned from the class material to the teacher, I realized that my friend and I had opposite ideas of our teacher. In my opinion, the teacher was fair, nice and easy going, but my friend thought completely the opposite and he used some vulgar terms to describe the very same woman.

I realized that if each of us had described the same teacher, without mentioning her name, to a third person, the person would have thought that we were talking about two very different people. I think, quite often, different people explain God in very different ways, which may cause many to think they are talking about different gods.

This reminds me of a Persian poem I had read in middle school. The poem discussed three individuals, speaking three different languages, who had collectively found a pot of money. Each person wanted to buy something to eat with that money. So the first person, speaking in English, argued that he wanted to buy grapes. The second person, speaking Persian, said "No, I don't want grapes; I want 'angoor.'" The third person, speaking Arabic, said "I neither want grapes nor angoor, I want aynab."

As the argument turned louder, a fourth person, who could speak all three languages, came to the rescue. He realized that all three wanted grapes but were using different words for the same thing. I think many times we can argueangoor or grapes even in speaking the same language.

"But don't you guys worship Allah?"

Yes, we do.

Just like when Spanish-speaking people say "Dios," or Germans say "Goth" when referring to God, Arabs say "Allah." Twenty million Christian Arabs pray to Allah everyday. The Arabic Bible says "Allah" when talking about God. In Hebrew, one of the words used for God is "Eloh" from which "Elohem" comes. And Jesus (p) speaking Aramaic said "Alaha" when referring to God. So understanding a bit about Semitic languages might help demystify a foreign-sounding name.

Allah is an Arabic term for God, and Muslims believe Allah is the personal name of the One God, the Creator of the universe. Some have said that Allah is taken from "Al illaha," which means "The God." So unlike one perception revealed in a recent poll, when Muslims say Allah they are notreferring to a "moon god" or some other Arab idol; they are talking about the God. The Qur'an urges people to not worship the moon, but the God who created the moon and everything in existence.

According to the Muslims' last holy book (Muslims also believe in Torah and Gospel are revelations from God), the Qur'an, God says tell the "People of the Book," a respectful term used for Jews and Christians, that "Our God and your God is one and the same, and it is unto Him that we [all] surrender ourselves."Qur'an 29:46.

The Qur'an urges all believers to affirm that they will not worship anyone but the one God.

In His address to young Muslims in Morocco in August 1985, Pope John Paul II said

"Christians and Muslims, we have many things in common, as believers and as human beings…We believe in the same God, the one God, the Living God, the God who created the world and brings his creatures to their perfection."

http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/john_paul_ii/speeches/1985/august/documents/hf_jp-ii_spe_19850819_giovani-stadio-casablanca_en.html

In his book, A DEADLY Misunderstanding, former congressman Mark Siljander, a self-proclaimed "Conservative Republican congressman and Evangelical Christian" (p. xi) and someone who was dubbed "one of the biggest Jesus freaks ever elected to Congress" (p. 13) focuses on the very same issue, that Allah is the Arabic name for the God who created the entire universe.

So Who Is Allah?

In Islam, theology is straightforward, such that a four-versed chapter was revealed to explain this question. Chapter 112 of the Qur'an states:

In the Name of the God, the Infinitely Compassionate, the Infinitely Merciful (an opening prayer in all but one of 114 chapters of Qur'an)

Say, He is God, the One and Only. God is Eternal and Needless of everything, He was not born and he does not give birth, and there is nothing like unto Him.

In Chapter 2 verse 255, God explains about Himself:

Allah! There is no god but He,-the Living, the Self-subsisting, the Eternal. No slumber can seize Him nor sleep. His are all things in the heavens and on earth. Who is there can intercede in His presence except as He permits? He knows what (appears to His creatures as) before or after or behind them. Nor shall they compass aught of His knowledge except as He wills. His Throne doth extend over the heavens and the earth, and He feels no fatigue in guarding and preserving them for He is the Most High, the Supreme (in glory).

In Chapter 59, verses 23-25, God says:

Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- Who knows (all things) both secret and open; He, Most Gracious, Most Merciful.

Allah is He, than Whom there is no other god;- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Source of Peace (and Perfection), the Guardian of Faith, the Preserver of Safety, the Exalted in Might, the Irresistible, the Supreme: Glory to Allah. (High is He) above the partners they attribute to Him.

He is Allah, the Creator, the Evolver, the Bestower of Forms (or Colors). To Him belong the Most Beautiful Names: whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare His Praises and Glory: and He is the Exalted in Might, the Wise.

Not a Male God

Even though the Quranic verses use the pronoun "He" for God, Muslims do not believe that God is a male god, or a man. Muslims believe God is the Creator of men and women, but God is beyond genders and transcends all other human characteristics as well. Actually, one of the reasons why many Muslims insist on using the name Allah is because it is a singular name which does not have plurals, and it is a genderless name.

Muslim scholars have agreed that it is not possible for us to understand the Infinitely Great God. Despite our amazing intellects, it is not possible for us to fully comprehend God. God is Infinitely Great, but our intellects are finite. No finite container can hold the Infinite.

As Smart As a Computer?

Sometimes I see some parallels in how we, as humans and the creation of the Almighty God, understand our Creator, Fashioner, Designer and Programmer and how our computers understand us. Now of course this is not to say that we are like a computer nor that God is like a human.

God is not like a human, and according to Islamic theology, there is nothing like unto God. But here is a parallel that I see: I consider my computer, Shiba (short for Toshiba) extremely smart and amazingly good at calculating, checking, and so on. Despite having a very smart "brain," Shiba understands about me, its owner and programmer, only as much as I allow her to know.

If I tell Shiba that I am a male and my last name is Saidi, then the next morning she will say "Good Morning, Mr. Saidi." She understands that it is morning, I am a male and that my last name is Saidi. But if I decide to tell her my weight and date of birth, she will know how old I am and how much I weigh. If I allow her and give her the necessary input she will know how I appear and could even draw a three-dimensional figure of me, but only if I allow her to know more about me.

Despite her great thinking and ultra-smart brain, she needs input to know and recognize me. I believe there is a strong parallel between this analogy and our brains' understanding of our Designer. We need divine inspiration and revelation to know about our Creator. Shiba's brain is not like my brain, neither is my computer's eye (camera) like my eyes. But still there is a parallel. So to understand our Creator, we need more than our super-smart brains, we need revelation.

Leave the Ass Behind!

There is an ancient and very interesting Muslim understanding, perhaps another analogy or another parallel about understanding God. It is said that, when visiting a King, a peasant will have to ride his ass or horse (or, in our times, his Avalanche or his Honda) to the door of the castle, then leave his ass behind (or park his Avalanche), and meet the King on his own. Even though our super-smart brains are designed to get us pretty far in understanding our Lord; at a certain point, it cannot get us any closer to understanding the King of kings. So we have to check our brains at the door of the castle. At that point, our heart and our intuition might get us a bit closer, if allowed by the King.

Thus God is beyond our imagination, and better than the best of the best that our super-smart brains can envision.

There is a verse in the Qur'an, the last revelation from God, which says that in the Hereafter there will be certain people who believed in God and obeyed God, and submitted their will to His. Their faces will be bright and joyous for being able to see God. I hope you and I will be among those people.

In Chapter17, verse 110, The Almighty God says:

Say (to people): "Call upon Allah, or call upon the Most Gracious: by whatever name ye call upon Him, (it is well): for to Him belong the Most Beautiful Names.

But as long as you believe in the ONE God, the Ultimate Creator of the entire universe, and what we discussed above, regardless of which beautiful name we call upon God, that is the same God that the Muslims believe in and worship.

A Muslim scholar had said that when we comprehend that we cannot comprehend God, that's when we have comprehended God. I am sure that at the next stages of our lives, in this world or in the hereafter, we will have a better understanding about God. Until then, let's see if we can work on translating "aynab" to "grapes" so that people can live in peace.

The conspiracy by NAJIB HASSHOLEMUDDIN, MUSA HASSAN, Still deny that Umno is behind the church attacks?

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 09:27 AM PST

Najib and Hishammuddin must think that Malaysians are a dumb lot not to see through their charade. It was Hishammuddin who first unhinged that dangerous religious wrecking ball with his banning of the use of the word Allah by that Catholic publication.Najib would like us to believe that those acts of arson were spontaneous combustion. What a pathetic attempt at extricating himself from the ugly and dangerous mess he helped create! His performance was more to convince himself, for he could not possibly convince us.Here he was after pouring the gasoline feigning surprise when someone finally lit a match. It was Najib who only the day before the incident declared that "Muslim groups were free to protest and express their views about the 'Allah' issue." Just in case that message did not register, he added that the authorities would not stop groups from gathering at mosques and protesting there. Najib's cousin and Home Minister, Hishammuddin, echoed the same sentiments.

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein Onn told a press conference here at a post-Cabinet meeting that the developments will be monitored and that action will only be taken if the need arises. Why the double standards?

Awang Selamat suggested that Umno might care to review the tried and tested BN methodology because "most importantly, Umno should not be so generous in trying to make a go of the power-sharing when the component parties are always applying pressure."

"They [the disgruntled Umno satellites] only want what's advantageous to them and are indeed 'too much'. What need is there for a power-sharing that is more beneficial to others?"

'Malays can't be silent anymore' Beer on one hand and the keris on other other: sheer hypocricy of the Umnoputras.

Kerismuddin behaving like a professional samseng. Under his watch, education has failed and corruption claims against him are abundant. May be that's "Malay supremacy" for you. God the Almighty!Umno leader

Dear Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein, the wayang kulit performance you see here is not for you to read, is for
MSM to publish something and also to make and official shout out to the international comity that the government is doing something. Very soon I wont be surprise if he again bring out 2 indians to take the blame or either 2 suspects brought to court in jumpsuits and face covered.
And that will probably how they will try to cover things up.
Home Minister Hishammuddin Hussein today denied charges that the government was passive in preventing arson attempts on churches in the country.
No major UMNO leader called for restraint in the days leading up to the planned protests against the "Allah" court ruling, while the cousins – who have typically opposed freedom of expression on the putative grounds that it would threaten national stability – went as far as to defend the planned protest
The reporter is right that the 3 key people, namely PM, Home Minister and IGP are passive on church attackers. I have not hear any stern warning from these 3 key people. The IGP does warn against people who spread rumours in the SMS. Why is the culprit who did the damage and psychological threatening to people not being punished whereas those who SMS could possibly get harsh punishment ?
Why was the ex-Home Minister who stir up the whole issue about using of the word Allah get away without punishment ?
This is just like the guy who mentioned about Pendatang get away with a slap on the hand while the reporter who wrote the truth got ISAed.
It is this double standard that makes some people put the law in their hand, knowing that if they are on the BN side, they can get away with murder !!!
You might be satisfied with the police work and your ministry's work but we are not !!!
You can give all kind of bullshit excuses to the Diplomats. But they are not stupid. They might diplomatically nod their head but go and watch CNN news and BBC news.
Usually a small fire starts from a spark. If you don't put off a small fire, it could generate into too large a fire or too costly to put off later on. That is what happen to a lot of bush fires which burnt down hundreds and thousands of acres of forest, some just started from a burning cigarette butt !! It is either you are too dump to learn from history or pretend to be ignorant and think that everybody, including the Diplomats are as dump as you
Slowly it is being revealed that it is a conspiracy by the Malay Bloggers Association and a government minister and some senior civil servants to create trouble by banning the use of the word "Allah". It will become clearer in the days to come and will without doubt lay the blame on the doors of the UMNOputras.
That the case was heard in Lau Bee Lian's court is also part of the conspiracy knowing that she will rule based on the law in favour of the church. IT would have been easy for them to give the case to some other charge who could have ruled in favour of the ban.
And we have a minister who asking the church to to compromise and not pursue the matter in court. The idiot does not realise that the church cannot withdraw the case after the court has made a ruling. WE now have to wait for the outcome of the appeal. All everyone has to do is wait for the outcome of the appeal. Wwe know how the appeal court will rule. So why all this hoo-ha?
By Ioannis Gatsiounis, Asia Times Online
With much of the Islamic world beset by violence, majority Muslim Malaysia had prided itself on its comparatively clean record of no major episodes of terrorism on its home soil.
That badge of distinction was tarnished early on Friday when three Kuala Lumpur-based Christian churches were firebombed in apparent response to a New Year's Eve court ruling that allowed a local Catholic newspaper to use the word "Allah" to refer to the Christian god.
"Allah", an Arabic word meaning "one god", predates Islam and is used by Christians in a number of other Muslim countries without controversy.
Five more Christian churches were attacked over the weekend into Monday, leaving the ruling United Malays Nasional Organization (UMNO) to fend off accusations that it should bear some responsibility for the attacks after years of being accused of stoking racial and religious hatred for political mileage among the country's majority Malays. The predominantly Muslim ethnic group makes up 60% of the population and has in recent years lurched towards more religious conservatism.
Prime Minister Najib Razak sharply denied that the race-based party instigated the unprecedented outbreak of anonymous violence. "Do not point the fingers at UMNO or anyone else. We have always been very responsible," he said at a press conference.
Najib launched the concept of "One Malaysia" shortly after taking office last year so that, as he has put it, "Malaysia will be the sum total of all [its] races" governed by "mutual respect and not just tolerance". But a number of his administration's actions and statements have run counter to the catchy slogan's spirit of unity.
Around the time that Najib introduced "One Malaysia", he appointed his cousin, Hishammuddin Hussein, as home affairs minister. It was a curious choice, considering Hishammuddin's history of inciting racial tensions, including most notably when as education minister he waved a traditional Malay dagger at an UMNO annual assembly in a threatening gesture towards the country's two main minorities, the ethnic Chinese and Indians.
Since his appointment, he has opposed human-rights rallies but has defended Malays who last year paraded a severed cow's head, a direct affront to Hindu beliefs that view cows as sacred, in protest against the construction of a new Hindu temple.
No major UMNO leader called for restraint in the days leading up to the planned protests against the "Allah" court ruling, while the cousins – who have typically opposed freedom of expression on the putative grounds that it would threaten national stability – went as far as to defend the planned protest.
No one has yet been arrested in connection with the church attacks, and the government has pointed at unidentified hooligans without producing evidence to back those claims. Hishammuddin, who is also an UMNO vice president, said the attacks were aimed at creating chaos and inciting hatred towards the government, insinuating that the attacks were a conspiracy against UMNO.
Racial double standards
Yet it can be said that the government's race-based politics have fed notions of superiority and given tacit license to the upsurge of intolerance now plaguing sections of the Malay community.
"The irresponsible conduct of fanning the emotions by UMNO leaders has brought about this dangerous situation," said a Malay opposition politician, Zaid Ibrahim, in a press statement on Friday. "What we see today confirms that this country is being governed not by engagement, consultation, sophistication or persuasion, but by brute and mob force."
The last major instance of racially motivated violence occurred in 1969, when clashes between Malays and Chinese left up to 2,000 people dead over a two-and-a-half month span. Yet recent history has arguably emboldened UMNO, which has dominated domestic politics since the country achieved independence.
Blessed with a docile citizenry, the party has conducted its communal brinkmanship without fear of major consequence or reprisal. Now it finds itself in the unenviable position of having to rein in a situation that eerily hints at the tipping point that many moderate Malaysians have long feared: a brazen spate of race-based violence that begets more of the same.
At a minimum, the face-saving myth of racial harmony that Malaysian politicians have claimed to international audiences is now in tatters. That sanitized notion came by way of sloganeering, a tightly controlled media, and billions spent on eye-catching infrastructure projects intended to make Malaysia appear both modern and progressive.
With that myth now laid bare, some expect tourist numbers to drop. The violence may also force Malaysians to look more squarely at the social rot in their midst and take a more proactive approach to repairing damaged race relations. There are some hopeful signs.
Some 130 Muslim non-governmental organizations (NGOs) have reportedly volunteered to help ensure the safety of Christian churches around the country. The Muslim chief executive of one local bank has donated 100,000 ringgit (US$$30,000) on behalf of his institution for church reconstruction. And the government plans to hold an inter-faith dialogue, after having shot down the idea in the past.
Even so, beyond the media's glare, there are indications that Malaysians are retreating into the pattern of ignoring, rather than talking through, unsettled issues that cut across ethnic lines. That tendency had helped maintain a tenuous peace, but deeply ingrained racial resentments appear to have played a hand in the recent spate of attacks.

Ahmad Ismail calling Chinese 'pendatang'
Three years ago, this correspondent queried Najib in his capacity as deputy prime minister about the deep-seated stereotypes and antagonisms Malaysia 's three main ethnic groups – the Malays, Indians and Chinese – shared for each other. Najib said that was fine, so long as each group kept their resentments within the four proverbial walls of their respective community.

Khir Toyo Falsely Accused MP Teresa Kok With the Aim of Creating Racial and Religious Hatred Against DAP and the Chinese Community
Monday, September 15, 2008

We Say,

Former Selangor Menter Besar Khir Toyo implicated Selangor Senior Exco member Teresa Kok on the "azan" issue as part of his concerted effort to incite racial and religious hatred by the Malays/Muslims against the Chinese community in Selangor.

The Editor-in-Chief of Utusan Malaysia did not check the facts prior to publication of the false allegation made by Khir Toyo, instead Utusan Malaysia raised the tone of the allegations to a more dangerous level.

Both Khir Toyo and Editor-in-Chief of Utusan Malaysia had malicious design in falsely accusing Teresa Kok. It is apparent that both of them aimed to achieve a wider objective of fanning racial and religious discontent and hatred by Malay/Muslims against the Chinese community, which in our view, seriously endangers our national security.

Khir Toyo and the Editor-in-Chief of Utusan Malaysia must be arrested and brought to justice for falsely accusing Teresa Kok on the "azan" issue.

If Syed Hamid Albar wants to use the ISA, he should instead go out and arrest the 189 residents who had politely written a letter to UMNO State Assemblyman Mohamad Satim Diman to talk to the mosque officials to help resolve their concerns about lowering the loudspeakers at the mosque during the long hours of the religious sermons.

The residents' petition was made BEFORE the March 8 election when Khir Toyo was the Menteri Besar and when UMNO was ruling the state.

Teresa Kok had nothing to do with the petition. She only received a copy of the petition as an MP of her constituency AFTER the March 8 election.

Teresa Kok is innocent. She must not only be released immediately without conditions, but that Khir Toyo should be arrested under ISA for attempting to incite racial and religious hatred against the Chinese community in Selangor.

Justice must be SEEN to be done.

And nothing less than the arrest of Khir Toyo (more so because he is an UMNO leader) including the incarceration of the racist Ahmad Ismail , will ever satisfy Malaysians that justice HAS BEEN done, and SEEN to be done, to address this highly charged incident.

His reply was indicative of UMNO's tendency to treat the symptoms rather than the root of the problem. It was inevitable that one day one of those walls would come crashing down; that day of reckoning apparently arrived on Friday with the attacks on a number of Christian churches. UMNO and Najib will now have to look past their "four walls" for real solutions.

Christians Reject Muslim Minister Proposal To Drop Word Allah

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 09:15 AM PST

KUALA LUMPUR
Monday, 11th January 2010

Mind your own religion. How could you as a government servant  advised us to make decision not in our favour! General sir..SHUT-UP you and all your UMNO bigots!

Church representatives here today rejected a minister's call to drop the claim to use the word "Allah" in the Christian sense.
Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Jamil Khir Baharom earlier today urged church leaders to adopt the same approach as a lay Sabah leader who reportedly said the word "Allah" should be reserved for Muslim use in Malaysia because they have been using it longest.
"Will we or the church, if we don't use the word Allah, suddenly lose or increase followers in the Christian faith 10-fold?" Utusan Malaysia reported Datuk Clarence Bongkos Malakun, president of the Sabah Justice of the Peace Council, saying in a statement from Kota Kinabalu last night.
"It is time for us, the Christian community, particularly the Catholic make an evaluation based on the present situation for security and public peace and drop the word Allah to calm our Muslim brothers.
"Rather than insisting on the right to use the word Allah it is better if Catholics only use the word 'Tuhan' or 'Tuhan Yang Maha Kuasa'," said Bongkos Malukun.
Unlike the muslim where non-religious scholar can make decision on religious matter, in Christianity, religious matter only can be decided by the religious scholar. Who is Datuk Clarence Bongkos Malakun that proposed catholic to drop the word Allah? His comment was political mooted and made in dilusion. If we have to do so, means we have to rewritten the Iban's bible!...Bukittunggal.
He added that Christians in Malaysia should stick to the Federal Constitution and not follow those in Indonesia on the use of "Allah".
Pastor Danil Raut, the president of the Sidang Injil Borneo (SIB) church in the peninsula, was highly critical of Bongkos Malukun's statement and claimed it was not representative of the Christian community.
"He's got the right to say his opinion but I definitely cannot agree with him," Raut told The Malaysian Insider.
"So many people have been using the word before Merdeka. In the language of our people, the Lunbawang and Lundayeh, 'Allah' means God," he added.
"This is stated in the Lundayeh Bible, not the Malay Bible," he stressed.

Pastor Richard Samporoh agreed.

"I think his statement is very political," Samporoh said. He noted that Bongkos Malukun used to be a state assemblyman and is a Christian but not a church minister and does not have the authority to speak for all Christians.
"Many people, including the politicians, have misunderstood the whole issue," said Samporoh, who heads the SIB church in Shah Alam.
"We're not demanding to use the word. We have been using it for almost 300 years. The case was only filed because of the ban from the Home Ministry," he added.
Samporoh said he has been a pastor for over 30 years and the controversy only erupted recently, after the federal government banned the Catholic church from publishing the word "Allah" to refer to the Christian God in the Bahasa Malaysia section of its weekly paper.
Samporoh further claimed that there was an agreement between the federal government and the church in the 1980s that Christians be allowed to use the word in their worship.
"We can use the word 'Allah' in our Bible, but it cannot be sold in public bookstores," he told The Malaysian Insider.
"I'm not very sure if there was a written agreement but it was during Musa Hitam's time," Samporoh replied when asked.
The Sabah-born pastor is also the adviser to the SIB church in the peninsula and strongly supports inter-faith dialogues.
"Understanding each other is the best way to resolve problems. I don't think the Muslims understand what is going on," he said.
Father Lawrence Andrew who edits the Catholic paper, Herald, was reluctant to comment on the issue.
"My official position is this: the case is in the courts. Let the court decide. I cannot comment on it," he reponded when contacted.
But The Malaysian Insider understands that in the Roman Catholic church, only officials holding the rank of the bishop onwards have the authority to make decisions.
The Archbishop of Kuala Lumpur, Reverend Tan Sri Murphy Pakiam, who is the publisher of Herald, could not be reached for comment.
He is currently away in Johor for meeting of bishops with the Vatican's representative who is based in Singapore.
Pakiam is also the president of the Malaysian Bishops Conference

Oh Fuck! Rumour Turned Reality...

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 09:34 AM PST

Prior to Najib taking over as Prime Minister, there was this rumour in the financial circle that foreign funds would make a grand exodus if Najib ever become the Prime Minister. Najib did become the PM and today barely a year after taking office, we have the truth right before our eyes.
It was reported that Malaysia's foreign reserves dropped by as much as 25% for the year 2009 alone. Read the complete report 'Malaysia's Disastrous Capital Flight' here.
That's Malaysia, The Bolehland where rumours do come true.
There must be some reasons why funds would want take Najib's appointment as reason to divest . Could it be due to Najib's poor track record? Excessive commission? Lacking Integrityand Credibilty? Or rather simply due to his inability to run this country?
Whatever it is, the damage has been done despite the artificial recovery of the stock market since he took over. Don't be hoodwink by the stock market. The severity behind this mismanaged or rather unmanaged economy has taken us to a point where we are staring at a very dim future.
Our stock market will continue to move. Due to lack of transparency, there have been excessive manipulation. But as soon as the RM10B of Valuecap's allocated fund reaches their pockets, be prepared for another collapse in our financial system. And we would end up as suckers as always. No? What about GST and increase in sugar price? Is that not to burden the citizen to have more money for their so called development laced with super commission?
I do not have much knowledge on the micro side of foreign reserves:p but i do know a drastic drop of this magnitude spells trouble to our economy. More so when we are still under capital control. I really wonder whether our country have enough US dollars for this 25% capital flight. Forget about trade surplus reserves. We are dealing with hard US dollars cash here.
By the way, have you hear about the rumour that Najib cant last two years in office? It's out there at every corner and people are still talking about it. Wonder who started all that? Lets wait and see... Only time can tell.
On my personal take, I would prefer this regime to be brought down totally and preferably in 6 months time before they inflict further damage to an already critical situation that we are facing.
Just my take here. You are allow to agree or disagree with me.

Bumiputra Kelas F 'boleh mati'!

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 08:52 AM PST

We have about 68,000 registered Kelas F Bumiputra contractors. However, the new tender regulations are depriving them of any opportunity to get any government jobs worth RM200,000 and below.

Why? If we read the tender notices in local newspapers, there is this additional prerequisite which only a few of them acquire. Previously, they only need to produce their PKK (Pusat Khidmat Kontraktor) registration cert to buy tender forms.

However, the government has added that its a MUST for them to produce their CIDB (Construction Industry Development Board) 'Kelas 1' certificate before buying any tender forms.

As far as the Bumi contractors are concerned, it is a method which dampens their hope to participate in small public projects.

Whose idea was it, we need to know and I personally believe this system needs to be reviewed before this contractors have to close shop!

Top Girl in Singapore from Malaysia

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 11:00 AM PST

(Top Girl - Lai Kai Rou)

This is a fine example of Brain drain from Malaysia where our best find homes in the better countries and better environment.

St. Nicholas Girls' School (SNGS) of Singapore has produced "Top Girl" two years in a row and this year produced 14 of the 42 best scorers.

This year Top Girl who scored 10 A1s in the Cambridge General Certificate of Education (O Levels) Examination is 16 year old student Lai Kai Rou from Selangor, Malaysia. She is on a bond-free scholarship from SNGS and stays at the Hwa Chong Insitution (HCI) hostel. She has a younger brother, a secondary two student in HCI, who is also also on scholarship.

The Top Girl for last year Haw Sue Hern is also from Malaysia with 10 A1s.

The Cambridge GCE Examination is an internationally recognised certificate and permits direct entry to the world's best universities and are the standard examination in Singapore for Sec 4 students normally at the age of 16.

Malaysia used to have the same examination but was replaced in the mid seventies by locally designed examination by the Malaysian Examination Council of SPM and STPM.

Well Done Kai Rou! You make us Malaysians Proud and we are happy for you!

HINDRAF Should Call Off The Candle Light Protest at Assumption Church PJ.

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 04:42 AM PST

By Admin

HINDRAF is planning to organize a CANDLE VIGIL TO PROTEST AGAINST what it called STATE SPONSORED ARSON at 8.00pm on January 13, 2010. Sources inform The Scribe that neither the Parish Priest of Assumption Church, Petaling Jaya, Rev. Father Philip Muthu nor the Kuala Lumpur Archdiocese which Assumption Church PJ comes under are involved in the Candle Light Protest by Hindraf.

So, Christians have turn the other cheek (as taught by their Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ) in the wake of these arson attacks. However, the agent provocateurs are still at work trying to provoke a response from the Christians. The Hindraf Candle Light Protest may just give the agent provocateurs an opportunity to stir up trouble and make it look like Islam is under attack. This is just what the Evil BN/Umno wants to see happen.

Thus, The Scribe calls on Hundraf to call off the Candle Light Vigil at Assumption Church in PJ and instead carried out such Vigils at cities around the World as it did previously to put the Najib Razak Regime in the international spotlight.

A NATIONAL CONSULTATIVE COUNCIL OF RELIGIOUS HARMONY

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 04:30 AM PST

Yayasan 1Malaysia proposes the establishment of a National Consultative Council on Religious Harmony--- Majlis Perundingan Nasional tentang Keharmonian Ugama--- which will deliberate on all critical issues in inter-faith relations in the country and suggest remedies for the consideration of the Cabinet and Parliament.

The Consultative Council should be chaired by the Prime Minister, Dato Sri Mohd Najib, and should include Ministers in charge of Religion and National Unity, Opposition leaders, representatives of the various religious communities, NGOs working towards religious harmony, and prominent personalities attempting to build bridges between Muslim and non-Muslim communities. The Council should not be too large, with perhaps a maximum of seventy members. It should meet behind closed doors and should work within a time frame. A Plan of Action should be formulated within six months of the launch of the Council.

The proposed Council can be modelled on the National Consultative Council of 1969, headed by our second Prime Minister, the late Tun Abdul Razak, set up in the aftermath of the May 13th Incident, which played a major role in restoring inter-ethnic stability.

Yayasan 1Malaysia hopes that the Prime Minster will give serious consideration to this proposal. Nothing is more important at this stage than an effective channel of communication among the different religious communities which will attempt to assuage their fears and anxieties about the position on their religion in Malaysian society today. Through communication and interaction will emerge the solutions that will accommodate the interests and aspirations of the diverse communities that constitute our beloved nation.

Chairman,
Yayasan 1Malaysia.

CHURCH VANDALISING SUSPECTS KNOWN TO POLICE SAYS HOME MINISTER DATUK SERI HISHAMMUDDIN

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 03:20 AM PST

Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein confirm today that the police have already identified the church vandalising suspects but refuse to state their names. It was also reported that certain blogsites had mentioned suspects who are connected with the church vandalising incident but Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin replied that the police would have to investigate them before any arrest or charge could be made.

If this is the case we can expect arrest and charge by the police within the next few day.

But what surprises most Malaysians is when reporters questioned the Deputy Inspector-General of Police this morning, while attending a briefing to foreign diplomats, about the 8th incident at Seremban, he flatly refuse by saying 'no such thing'.

But Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin confirms that there was a incident at Seremban this early morning but it was minor with the front door of the Church been charred.

Something seems not proper in the church vandalising incident and there are parties trying to distort correct information to the public.

The time has come for the police and Home Ministry to arrest and charge these suspect without any fear or favour.

fantasy to that of the leaders of Pakatan. In a statement issued through PKR, Anwar Ibrahim declared that "the wish of the non-Muslim community to use the term 'Allah' is a positive and welcomed development a first priority of Muslims.
We believe the problems facing this generation are those very problems mentioned in our Prophet's final sermon, upon him be prayers and peace: economic injustice, racism, the oppression of women, and the manipulation of natural order. We believe these human illnesses can only be treated through healing the hearts of humanity with spiritual truths of the impermanence of the world and the need to understand our purpose while we are here and act accordingly. This can only be done with sound and true knowledge. It is our goal to acquire and disseminate that knowledge. Allah is an Arabic term for God, and Muslims believe Allah is the personal name of the One God, the Creator of the universe. Some have said that Allah is taken from "Al illaha," which means "The God." So unlike one perception revealed in a recent poll, when Muslims say Allah they are not referring to a "moon god" or some other Arab idol; they are talking about the God.
In His address to young Muslims in Morocco in August 1985, Pope John Paul II said "Christians and Muslims, we have many things in common, as believers and as human beings… We believe in the same God, the one God, the Living God, the God who created the world and brings his creatures to their perfection."

Anwar realized only too well the potential dangers of stoking the religious fire. To emphasize his point, Anwar called for restraint and urged his followers not to participate in the planned Friday demonstrations. It was a particularly prescient call. Anwar must have read Najib, Hishammuddin and all the other characters in UMNO well; he knew their mischievous if not evil intent. Malaysians, specifically Malays, are becoming more sensible or the restraint urged on by Anwar and the others had an impact, for come Friday the demonstrations were definitely muted. The egging-on by UMNO leaders fell flat; instead the rotten eggs landed on the faces of UMNO leaders.related article READ MORE CLICK HERE Can Najib dismisses Bala's claims on his sms to SHAFEE ABDULLAH FIXING judge to buttress the evidence.: FIXING BAGINDA'S FREEDOM

Today suraus are attacked, why is there no anger, noindignation and not a even a signature campaign to say sorry?

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 02:26 AM PST

I do wonder who will get accused this time.

Oh let me guess?? It's muslims too??

Will Marina Mahathir collect signature for an apology?
Will Malaysiakini spin and say that in the light of vandalism there can be no compromise?
What now?

Well let us look at who has the tendency for violence.Who has a track record of using gangsters

The mother of all CASES

Anwar is known for his bully tactics, getting people to admit to things that are false, he went to jail for his abuse of power, for his 'turning over' of people who went against him...

CASE #1

If you burn Lim Guan Eng's picture gangsters will come and cut you up

Here is the video and pictures... BTW no one has come up to deny this one in any convincing manner

here are some pictures of the injury suffered after the gangster attack
DO you think Umno would want to discourage people from expressing their dissatisfaction with Lim Guan Eng?

Case #2
Kickdefella's car was damaged by an axe=throwing gangster.,

This happened as Kelantan Menteri Besar and PAS semi-deity s facing a barrage of criticism for his cronyism appointing his son-in-law as the chairman of Menteri Besar Inc.

Surely this is not Umno's doing

Case #3
DAP committe member and Kajang municipal councillor Tan Boon Wah was the last one to speak to Teoh Boon Hock. In fact they did not speak to each other, they had a shouting match.....

The next thing we know TBH is dead... and who do they blame???

that's right the MACC

Huh???

Case #4
Bagan Pinan By Election. PAS supporter was allegedly attacked by sword weilding television character (or it could be a rancid racist of an old man who thinks he has become someone because he blogs and Rocky promoted him).

This Zorro incident clearly demonstrates that PAS is ever willing to fabricate evidence. This is probably how they have been operating all these years

CASE #5
A plainclothes policeman  (the driver to N9 CPO no less) was beaten up by PAS supporters in Bagan Pinang.

Guess what they told everyone??

that's right they said Umno supporters did it...

So you see, it is Pakatan that has a tendency to use gangsters and violence and yet now they turn aroudn and try to blame it allon Umno and Barisan Nasional and label it as a Government failure

"Apabila seorang saksi terus-menerus mengubah keterangannya, maka itu bermakna bahawa dia berbohong," Karpal berhujah. "Namun, hakim menyatakan bahawa keterangan Azizan adalah 'sekuat Rock of Gibraltar'.".....

THE CORRIDORS OF POWER

Raja Petra Kamarudin

"Namun, hakim menyatakan bahawa keterangan Azizan adalah 'sekuat Rock of Gibraltar'."

"Bukti sokongan memang diperlukan.

fantasy to that of the leaders of Pakatan.
In His address to young Muslims in Morocco in August 1985, Pope John Paul II said "Christians and Muslims, we have many things in common, as believers and as human beings… We believe in the same God, the one God, the Living God, the God who created the world and brings his creatures to their perfection."

“Church Bombings 8 Now”

Posted: 11 Jan 2010 01:44 AM PST

Copycat bombings or whatever it is going to be called has got to STOP.NO EXCUSES WHATSOEVER….  Business in Malaysia will soon be affected as negative International news will filter through the mass media and the internet blogs. If its not bad enough even our very Malaysian blogs are asking many questions.

This blog has really got my attention and the headlines reads as,"More churches bombed, where are the police!  This article has also a negative impact,Church Attacks In Malaysia Deepen Racial Tension.-EILEEN NG, Associated Press Writer

Its obviously a very bad perception for multi-racial,multi-cultural and multi-faith Malaysia and the interantional tourists and businesses will find ways to bypass Malaysia as a favoured tourist destination or even as Regional Business Base.

Seremban was the last attack and many phone calls were answered with questions,"Latest in Bombings..?? Which Church and which State..??. On a Monday its usually How is the market..?? Where is the money line coming from or where can we make Money..?? What a SHAME….!!!! This report copied from malaysiakini portal…

The Sidang Injil Borneo (SIB) church in Negeri Sembilan was the latest target of an attempted arson, which left its front wooden doors charred.

This morning's attack brings the total number of churches targeted since Friday to eight.

seremban church door burned 110110 02Contacted later, Pastor Eddy Marsonyasir, 34, said he discovered the incident when he arrived at the church this morning.

"A few church members and I left the church at 11.30pm last night but when I came in this morning, I found the wooden door destroyed," he added.

Accompanied by DAP's Rasah MP Anthony Loke, the pastor later filed a report with the Seremban II police station.

Loke told Malaysiakini that there was no evidence of molotov cocktails having been used.

He also pointed out that the church sits only 1km away from the Seremban district police headquarters.

"I strongly condemn the attack. This is part of a growing trend which is alarming.

"We urge the police to take stern action to safeguard churches and other houses of worship," he said.

Founded in East Malaysia, the church is frequented by Sabah and Sarawakian students, with sermons conducted in Bahasa Malaysia.

Chemical substance used

Meanwhile, Seremban district police chief Saiful Azly said that a chemical substance was used in the attack.

"The fire and rescue services department is now trying the ascertain the kind of chemical that was used," he added when contacted.

According to Saiful, the incident most probably occurred between 1.30am and 8.30am. No arrests have been made so far.

The attacks on churches followed the high court's ruling on Dec 31 to allow a Catholic weekly, Herald, to use the word 'Allah' in its Malay-language edition.

However, the court granted the Home Ministry a stay of execution pending appeal a week later after the attorney-general intervened, citing national interest.

To defuse tension, the government announced today that it will hold inter-faith dialogues between various religious leaders to reach a common understanding.

Both Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Rakyat politicians have condemned the attacks and appealed for calm.

We just hope the next phone call you receive will not be of anymore bombings…
