As the train pulled up slowly at a junction, my co-passenger, three ladies and two men, alighted. The ladies, two Muslims and a Hindu lady, had travelled alone, like many others do today. But were they safe? Freedom of movement had been attained but security and safety had eluded them often. BJP leader L.K.Advani's recommendation of the death penalty for rapists, reflects the seriousness of the question of woman's safety and security.
As the train moved on, I reflected on the conversation with my just departed co-passengers on the issue of women's condition and rights today. The two Muslim ladies and a Hindu lady, cutting across barriers of religion, pinpointed dowry and its related tragedies as the major evil which topped the list. Fathers committed suicide and girls often worked rigorously to death to earn enough for a dowry.
Women, whether they are educated or not, are second class citizens in today's enlightened and technologically advanced world, regardless of the country, community, region or religion they belong to. In some cases, they are just like bonded labour, chained to physical and mental torture in return for the poor maintenance they receive from their husbands.
Glamour and glitter, beauty shows, women's lib. programs, silky parties and smoothened conferences, cannot hide the all-too obvious fact that women at the turn of this century, are the most tormented creatures on this planet It is not money or power which is misused today. It is the woman who is most misused today. From birth to death, her existence is lamented. In the market, she is turned into a commodity or "thing", to enhance sales and advertisements. At home, she is turned into a mere cook, nay, even worse, into a slave. Even prisoners enjoy some rights which are not available to some women.
Her birth is lamented. Her death is engineered at times, her education is stalled as it will not benefit her parental family, her taking up a job is welcomed as her earnings would benefit the family. Her salary is snatched, her assets are frozen. She cooks and cleans, bears and rears children. She works double at home and outside too, and then, this tired, ill-fed, ill-clad, ill-treated woman is expected to be a fresh, glamorous bed-partner at night. Had it stopped at this, it could have been rectified. But what made matters worse is the complete stifling of her voice and inability to express her woes. She is not allowed to speak up at home or in social or political circles, she turns up as a mute painted doll keyed to dance to a male tune, and God help her if she refuses to do so, for she is then thrown out at the mercy of the storms, unprotected and unsung. She works more, eats less, gets a lower salary in comparison to men. We find very few anaemic men but most women are anaemic.
The Muslim Women's condition is the same. Here, we are not talking of the lucky few who enjoy the sunshine under bluer skies and on greener pastures. A lucky few cannot represent the half billion Muslim women across the world. The dilemma of the Muslim woman is doubled as she neither has a platform or political or social representation, like her Hindu, Sikh or Christian counterparts, to highlight her woes. Men grow up seeing a woman weeping as a mother, a sister, a wife and as a daughter.
In all these roles the Muslim woman suffers. But she suffers the most as a wife and a daughter-in-law. Her rights are glorified at the highest pitch from microphones on bedecked stages by garlanded leaders, her duties counted endlessly. True, Islam gives her unbelievable rights, exalted status and a constructive role in society, but that is what Islam gives her. What has the community given her? All her rights are mentioned in the Shariah. All her duties and extra-duties are imposed on her in totality. The yawning gap between theory and practice has swallowed up the Muslim woman like a hungry lion.

Feul subsidy: Why another piecemeal action

Posted: 21 Jan 2010 01:28 PM PST

Let's be comprehensive for once.
Let's formulate a coherent energy use policy for the next 50 years
Let's have a roadmap for energy efficiency
Let's have a roadmap for developing sustainable sources of energy
Let's have decent public transport
Before we talk about removing subsidy and telling people to be use less fuel.
Using less sugar may have health benefits but most of us don't drive around wasting fuel
We drive from point A to Point B because we have to.
Otherwise we would be at home or having a drink somewhere
Now that our drinks are slightly more expensive ( thanks to the Government's new year gift) maybe we will skip the drinks altogether

Anyway below is a video of how car companies are trying to cope with the realities of the new world that is more aware of the need to preserve the environment.
It's a video I edited for Malay Mail's Mail Motor supplement. Hope you like it

MACAMANA? Dr Asri, Ustaz Hadi and PKR's Dr Md. Nor also agree that "Allah" ...

Posted: 21 Jan 2010 08:42 AM PST

... is not correctly translated as 'God' ? Hmmm... read here

Now, this I want to follow ...

Tok Guru Nik Aziz says OK, but Tok Guru Hadi says not OK - So PAS macamana ? PKR' s Tok Guru says not OK, but Brother Anwar say OK - so PKR macamana? PR = PKR + PAS + DAP, so PR macamana? DAP lani macamana?

Now, Dr Asri is sort of the 'liberal Malaysian Muslim' Tok Guru, but if he says its not OK, 'liberal Malaysia Muslim" macamana?

But the Quran says its OK (read here) so if you are a Muslim who wants to follow the Quran, macamana? Pandai-pandai lah pilih whom to follow...

"If any do fail to judge by (the light of) what Allah hath revealed, they are (no better than) unbelievers. (Quran 5: 44)

"Say: "What thing is most Weighty in evidence?" Say: "(Allah) is witness between me and you; This Qur'an hath been revealed to me by inspiration, that I may warn you and all whom it reaches. …..." (Quran 6:19).

MACAMANA NI?

Singapore casino, anyone?

Posted: 21 Jan 2010 08:30 AM PST

The first Casino will be a reality in a few days in Singapore.

The brand new Singapore Casino will be part of the huge Resort World Sentosa Complex which will be delivered in the following weeks, featuring 4 hotels and a Universal Studios theme park which are all part of the alternative development plan which the government is supporting to provide an alternative source of income to the country thinking in a similar pattern with the UAE (read h e r e).
The development of the project has already opened 35,000 new jobs and this number is expected to rise when the casino and all the other recreational services will be fully operational; statements from the local government has stated that the project is expected to boost the domestic product growth by 1 per cent.

During the last 30 – 40 years, Singapore's main source of income has been the third party manufacturing industry; but as more and more international companies are seeking for cheaper labor costs in order to develop their products; income is migrating to China and Vietnam.

Bujai's comment: Our Genting Highlands casino is always flocked with Singaporeans on weekends and other public holidays. Perhaps its time for Genting owners to 'let in' more Malaysians whom all this while gamble on 'cruise to nowhere''. We cant stop them, anyway.

My other thought is that, is any of our tycoons, especially those Singapore-related got any interest in the new facility? Lets find out, folks!

Sarawak Govt humbled by Iban Villagers

The Sarawak government's unpopular 'Konsep Baru' or 'New Concept' of land development, which encourages private companies to set up vast oil palm plantations on native people's lands, has been dealt a blow by a landmark High Court decision today.

The High Court of Sabah and Sarawak declared victory to rural Iban farmers from Rumah Madel, in Sebauh, 30km from Bintulu, in a land rights suit filed against Ladang Sawit Bintulu Sdn Bhd Tabung Haji (a major share-owner in the oil palm plantation) and the Sarawak government.suhakam visits bintulu ibans 230807 ngo officialsThe Rumah Madel plaintiffs were represented by land rights advocates Baru Bian and See Chee How.

"This is a victory for all Sarawakians, and for future generations of Malaysians," said See, outside the High Court. The government has 30 days to appeal the decision.

The state government now faces increased pressure to curb its enthusiastic support of big business - in this case wealthy oil palm companies - taking over the Native Customary Rights (NCR) land of indigenous communities across this vast state.

Tabung Haji, a federal investment fund, will also face questions over its involvement in the Sebauh plantation. Local people say the plantation has destroyed their land, rubber and other crops, fruit trees and water supplies. The adverse publicity has made it tricky, to say the least, for the fund to argue that it supports ethical investments.

Old concept, new packaging

The Sarawak government's 'Konsep Baru' promises NCR landowners a 30 percent share in 'joint development' of a given oil palm plantation, with a 60 percent going to a private company and 10% going to the state. The state says the land will be returned to the NCR owners after 60 years. The government argues this brings development to what it calls 'idle land'.

It has been well documented that these private oil palm companies are closely associated with high-ranking state officials. Many NCR landowners who signed up to these schemes have bitterly condemned the private investors for failing to pay dividends, or handing out only a pittance.

Worse still, private companies have frequently established plantations without even consulting local communities. The first the locals hear of the 'development' is often the sound of bulldozers uprooting their fruit trees and farms.

Many native communities have shown great courage in taking the government to court. Over a hundred court cases filed by natives, alleging infringement of NCR rights by logging and oil palm plantations, are trundling their way through the bowels of the judicial system.

This latest judgment supports the legal rights of natives to their NCR land, as affirmed by the Madeli Salleh Federal Court and Nor Nyawai decisions.

These pivotal cases emphasise that customary rights precede the existence of the state of Sarawak, and cannot be extinguished by the government.

Yet the state government considers all NCR land which has not been surveyed as 'state land'. The Land and Survey Department has failed to survey more than 90% of the state's NCR land, in 46 years of independence.

The state administration has ridden roughshod over the landmark court NCR decisions. It ignores long-established legal and constitutional guarantees of NCR land, as well as the principles of the United Nations Declaration of Rights of Indigenous Peoples, which Malaysia has signed.

Rumah Madel's bruising fight

Rumah Madel had sent a string of protests to the police and other government agencies against intrusions by the oil palm company onto their ancestral NCR land since 2004. But the community's appeals were brushed aside.

"This company, Tabung Haji, doesn't even have any agreement or a promise of sharing with us. So, we are not happy with the way the government deals with our land. They said that our land does not belong to us," an elderly man from Rumah Madel recalled. "They told us it's state land. But we didn't move here illegally. We didn't move here yesterday. We have lived here since the British colony was established, since the time of Rajah Brooke."

The Iban villagers resorted to erecting blockades across the companies' access roads. The police finally sprang into action, but in support of the oil palm company. Police arrested peaceful protestors, including three defiant women, Siah anak Laga, Meliah anak Enjup and Sadah anak Julau, in December 2004.

penan blockade in sarawak loggingWhen the villagers in Rumah Madel were asked whether the company had paid any compensation for their land or crops, the village elder replied: "No. They told us 'If we pay you compensation that means we acknowledge it is your land. But this is state land and therefore it's not your land!' So they just went ahead and destroyed our land without paying us anything."

"They don't care," said the village head, Tuai Rumah Madel anak Kandau. "Even several of my own plots of land have been destroyed by the lorries. They even destroyed my own oil palm saplings but I planted them again. I told them 'Please don't kill my oil palm saplings. Just leave them alone.' "

The villagers are angry that the rivers and water catchments supplying their drinking water have also been polluted by the oil palm plantation company.

"Look at our streams now…the water looks like it came from a pig-sty. None of us wants to bathe there, let alone drink the water. They're making life difficult for us in the village," Madel said.

Anger over empty promises

One villager said the company had promised surrounding villages good jobs if only they would participate in the oil palm 'joint project'.

Several headmen signed up. He recounted the promises. "They told us, you will earn a lot of money, no problem with your expenses because you will have a permanent job there.

"Also, once you work in the oil palm plantation, you will have a 30 percent share in the plantation. 70 percent will go to the government and its 'friends'.

"But they did not give us the letter of agreement…and also, the certificate to show that we have a share in the plantation was not given to us. The company kept it for themselves.

"Now you see…none of us are working there. All the workers in the plantation are foreigners. None of us here want to work for RM10 or RM15 per day. With RM10 per day, my wife and I can eat. But what about our children? Their schooling?" he asked..

"If we follow those who are educated, they will mess up our minds, suck our blood. It's better that we're uneducated," Tuai Rumah Madel said with a wry smile, "so we can discuss together what is good or bad.

"Look at the YBs (elected representatives). Who voted for them to become our YBs? It's the YBs who are messing with our minds. They only pretend to try to help us by saying all kinds of things.

"I think about my grandchildren in the future. When I die, will my grandchildren say 'Our grandfather was very stupid – without land, how are we going to live?' That is why I don't want my land to be taken away."

NCR landowners win landmark cases

Posted: 21 Jan 2010 01:30 AM PST

Kuching
Thursday, 21st January 2010

Two land owners won their respective court cases in the Kuching High Court today, the decisions of which may open a floodgate of civil actions against the Sarawak Government.

In the first case, Mohamad Rambli bin Kawi of Kampung Lintang sought declarations that he had acquired native customary rights over 51 parcels of NCR land situated at Loba Rambungan, Kuching.
He also sought a declaration that the extinguishment of his land under Section 5 (3) and (4) of the Sarawak Land Code was unconstitutional.
Following the extinguishment notice, Mohamad Rambli had on 9 September 2002 submitted his claims to the Land and Survey Department, but his claims was rejected.
The State Government rejected his claim arguing that the Malays in Sarawak did not have any native customary rights over land.
10 similar cases

In a landmark decision, High Court Judge David Wong allowed his claims and ordered the government to extinguish his rights over the land and pay compensation in accordance with law.
About 10 cases of similar nature involving the Malays are now before the court.
In the case of Agi anak Bungkong, he sued the government on behalf of 196 Iban families from 15 longhouses over NCR land in and around their longhouses in Selezu, Setulai and Sepadok in the Sebauh District, Bintulu.

They claimed that they had native customary rights over those lands which, to them, were more than just lands but which constituted their life, and from where they derived food, valuable medicines, wildlife and natural produce for their livelihood and sustenance.
They cultivated padi, fruit trees, rubber, cocoa and other essential and crops on those lands. Hence, they argued that NCR land, comprising lands and forests, were not just a source of livelihood but life itself.
They said that their NCR over their lands was recognised in and by law and expressly acknowledged and honoured by the government of the day.
However, possibly due to an act of recklessness and negligence of the 4th defendant (Land and Survey Department) and the 5th defendant (the State Government) or in disregard of the plaintiffs' acquired, vested or accrued rights in the native customary land, two provisional leases over Lot 2 Block 4 Selezu Land District and Lot 2 Block 34 Kemena Land District were issued to the 2nd defendant (Lembaga Tabung Haji) and 3rd defendant (Semai Mekar Sdn Bhd) on 2 December 1996.
The said provisional leases covered and included a substantial part of the plaintiffs' said NCR land.

Order to ratify NCR lands

High Court Judge David Wong granted that the plaintiffs have native customary rights over the lands they cleared.
The judge ordered that the NCR lands should be ratified and excluded from the provisional leases.
The plaintiffs must be given vacant possessions forthwith, he said.
For the two cases, the judge ordered that damages for the plaintiffs to be assessed at 4% interest per annum from the date of encroachment to the date of judgment and 8% from the date of judgment to the realization of the payment.
Costs to the plaintiffs are to be assessed by the court.
The two cases were represented by Messrs Baru Bian, Advocates & Solicitors.
Personally Bukittunggal.com would like to congratulate the two NCR land owners for winning the case, and to Sdra Baru Bian for successfully defends the rights of the NCR landowners.
BRAVO Sdra Baru Bian!

Previously, I suggested you follow the friendly URLs to access the respective mobile blogs: -

m.bonology.com
x.bonology.com
p.bonology.com

Now, if these URLs display alright on your tiny screen, go ahead to use them. But I suspect there could problem because these are forwarding URLs that some mobile browser may mistaken as a normal website. For example, iPhone will display it as full website (text are illegible unless enlarged) even though I have declared some iPhone friendly code in the menu itself (see, Apple isn't very smart after all). However, I can't tell if other makes will be affected in a similar fashion because to be honest with you, I only have an cheapo iPod Touch to check it out ... Please excuse me, I am just another poor bugger floating in the Internet.

For those with display issues, I suggest you follow the original URLs (much longer and I suppose URL shortener is of no help because I am pretty sure some mobile browser will regard it as a full webiste as well ) as follows: -

- Sociopolitical Blogs (Instaed of m.bonology.com, go straight to http://Mippin.com/xBlog)

- iPhone Menu (Instaed of x.bonology.com, go straight to http://xBonology.Blogspot.com)

- Plain Menu (Instead of p.bonology.com, go straight to http://pBonology.Blogspot.com)

I'd try to find some helpful tools for the Politikus to deploy during the next General Election because it looks like at the rate Bolehland is going, we are heading nowhere. I may just have to initiate Plan C (no Plan B because evolution is no longer effective, it gotta be REVOLUTION!)

Pakatan Rakyat's future - what if Anwar is jailed?

Posted: 21 Jan 2010 02:56 AM PST

Much as I don't like him, kaytee has never deny that Anwar Ibrahim is the glue holding the Pakatan Rakyat (very loose) coalition together.

Mind you, being a 'loose coalition' is not necessarily a bad thing as it means there is no Tai-Koh factor which, alas, we see in the BN.

No one, not even Anwar Ibrahim, dares boss any component party around - any wannabe dictator acts tough and an unhappy but independent component party will go its individual way, and the coalition becomes no more ...

… which has been what UMNO and its sidekick parties have been trying to bring about for the Pakatan Rakyat.

But the BN hasn't succeeded because each of the Pakatan component party knows 'the family that prays together (for victory in 2013) stays together'.

DAP needs PAS to win the Malay votes, PAS needs DAP to win the Chinese support, and even Pak Haji Hadi Awang has finally realized this.

And of course PKR needs both PAS and DAP to attain majority rule, and enable Anwar to become PM.

But Sodomy II looms near, and Anwar ending up again behind bars has been upgraded from a possibility to a probability.

So what will happen to Pakatan ... if its 'glue' is enjoying the government free 'rest house' inclusive of nasi kari lunch and dinner?

Assuming the evil Empire gets its way, and Anwar is jailed, I believe his replacement as Pakatan's leader has to be someone acceptable to both PAS and DAP, and I can think of only Zaid Ibrahim of PKR.

malaysiakini photo

Read Zaid's penetrating recommendation to support Lim Guan Eng's plan to capture 'Middle Malaysia' in Malaysiakini's Zaid fleshes out Guan Eng's idea. There's intellectual merit in Zaid's proposal without any pompous man man lai words.

In concert with Lim's campaign, Zaid proposes a core curriculum in our national education system so that we can build common values, drawn from the great civilisations, to promote understanding of citizenship with corresponding rights and obligations, respect for civil and rational debate, and understanding to reject supremacist or exclusivist thinking.

I believe he has it in him to be a national leader. Thus we may be looking at a probable future PM, assuming there will be no 'dirty works' to also neutralise him.

Ironically, while he is likely to be accepted by PAS and DAP as Anwar's replacement, as leader of Pakatan, he may face problems from within his own PKR party. There is an ambitious man from Gombak who may not want to have Zaid Ibrahim as the new Pakatan supremo.

YBK Selangor: Tanah Dan Peruntukan tu Bukan Bapak Zainal Sakom Punya

Posted: 21 Jan 2010 12:14 AM PST

Galak betul UMNO mempertahankan YBK.

Nik Nazmi dilaporkan berkata:

Inilah dia mentality UMNO.

YBK: Melaka, NS tawar tapak kampus UiTM

Breaking News-Demolition Of Rumah Nor ak Nyawai

Posted: 20 Jan 2010 08:05 PM PST

TR Nor anak Nyawai and his "anembiaks" have been fighting for their NCR lands fo decade and their fights end on 19th January 2010, when their longhouse was demolished by the Land Survey department.
According to reliable source to Bukittunggal.com, on 19.01.2010 at Tatau sub-district, the Land and Survey enforcement team from all over Sarawak with few trucks of Army personnel and policemen went to demolish houses without prior notice to the landowners at Sg. Sekabai, Sebauh Bintulu. This particular land (the territorial domain) had been won by Tr. Nor Ak Nyawai and some others at the Malaysian Court few years ago. But unfortunately, how did the Company manage to convince the Court to approve for the eviction order is always remain a mystery to so many Indigenous peoples in Sarawak.
According to the source, the enforcement personnel managed to demolished about 25 houses with all their belongings inside were destroyed indiscriminately for more than 4 hours of ugly service to the said 'company'. The way how the government agencies handle the matter look like that the Ibans (Indigenous Peoples) have no more right to their own land and the companies seem to have more rights and surely own more land everywhere. Who own these big companies in Sarawak?
The Indigenous people of Sg. Sekabai were still in the state of shock because of what had happened to their houses and properties. Most of the occupants were left without any place to live right now and all their belongings were also intentionally destroyed by the enforcement. In Haiti peoples and properties were destroyed by natural disaster but strangely in Sarawak we are 'giving human disaster' to our own peoples without mercy.
Our source added, "The people of rumah Tr. Nor of Sg. Sekabai had a meeting yesterday night and I was there with them. Everyone looked very angry, very disappointed and very down as they lost their properties just within seconds by the enforcement. They did not only cut the houses but they smashed them with the tractors into pieces to the ground. They all agreed to stay put on the ground at Sg. Sekabai to prevent these 'demolishers' continue their barbaric act these few days!"
This is not the first incident of the longhouse being evicted merciless by government agencies (off course under the direction of Sarawak Barisan Nasional). In January 2007, a longhouse known as Rumah Nyawin along the Bakun-Bintulu road was bulldozed leaving more than 100 native people homeless.
The video can be seen below:

Despite all these cruelty and inhumane treatment against them by Barisan Nasional government but the Iban/dayak still support  them. Are we that stupid ? Or are we COWARD?
I am urging the Iban readers out there to spread the news on what happened to TR Nor ak Nyawai and his anembiak because sooner or later, the same incident may happen to the rest of us, especially with the new land development concept being implemented by the BN government in Sarawak.
The state election is just around the corner. If we especially the Ibans dont want to be evicted from our own land, we must evict BN government by VOTE THEM OUT....Remember to vote for PAKATAN RAKYAT!

What you see is not what you should believe

Posted: 20 Jan 2010 11:44 PM PST

The new season of American Idol has started again.

Those of you who follow the series, like yours truthly, may have wonder how on Earth can the judges go through seemingly stadium full of contestants in a few days. In certain cities where they visit, the crowd can be as big as 6000 or 8000, and even if one contestant takes about 3 minutes, including walking into the audition room and going out (I am sure it is more than that), it would take more than 18000 to 24000 munites, 3o0 over hours. That is if the judges continuously audition, without rest in between, without going to the loos and so on. So in actual fact, the average time would more be like 5-6 minutes a person, and that would aat least take a few weeks to dispose of just one such crowd.

Well, what you see is not what is happening. Like many times at this modern time, what they show you is not what is actually happening.

In fact, the crowds in different cities are screened through by scouts, with each singing just a few bars , and the scouts will select a small portion of those who they think can sing, AND, also those who they think are the worst singers or performers or the most comical ones. This small group will then have to appear before the producers, who will further select the better and the worse ones to go before the judges. (see the report here)

What I am trying to convey is that in this so-called modern society, almost everything is staged. Perhaps it is due to the influence of Hollywood.

Even for those doing charity, you see them hoisting big mock checques, just to show people that so and so is making a donation to so and so.

In Malaysia, many events are staged, especially when it comes to getting votes. When election is near, you see the VIPs walking the round  and giving speeches in stadiums filled with people who are there because they are transported by buses and given incentives to be there. It is not because they like to go there on their own accord.

When a big shot is coming, the whole area will be spruced up , given a new coat of paint; and the staff who normally will spend hours in teh tarik stalls will suddenly be so diligent, serving the people and clients courteously and eagerly.

On another level, what the politicians say and what they believe inside their hearts are often so different. AN example is KJ, who was said to be a liberal before ascendancy of his Father-in-law, but his  speeches when he ruled the fourth floor smacked of  extremist and racist views .

Many others who may have advocated a single stream school send their children to International schools, a stream that is not even supposed to cater fro Malaysians, but diplomats from other countries.

So, what you see or hear is often not what you should believe! That is life!  Malaysia or otherwise!

Malaysia's Fascist No.1 Finally Confirms The Truth!

Posted: 20 Jan 2010 10:31 PM PST

You got to hand it to our old Dr M - he got guts.

Unfortunately, and perhaps due to his old age, his guts seem to be less and less tempered with morals and brains. His outbursts are beginning to sound more and more like the whinings of a bitter old man, madly lashing out at the world.

But his latest outrageous outburst is particularly shocking...

"The Jews had always been a problem in European countries. They had to be confined to ghettoes and periodically massacred. But still they remained, they thrived and they held whole governments to ransom."

"Even after their massacre by the Nazis of Germany, they survived to continue to be a source of even greater problems for the world. The Holocaust failed as a final solution,"

Wow...so casually he mentions the torture and murder of millions of human beings. And Dr M actually endorses and validates the Holocaust as a solution?! He seems to think that the horrors of the Holocaust was of no more consequence than a campaign to wipe out a cockroach infestation. And because it failed to be an effective final solution (to wipe every Jew off the face of the earth), the Jewish "infestation" came back to bring pestilence upon th

"Creating a state for them was thought to be a better solution. It could be if some European territory had been allocated to make a permanent ghetto for the Jews."

Well, what the old man is really saying is...if you really can't kill them all, at least lock them out of sight.

Well, now that Dr M has finally let his ultra-fascist tendencies run unfettered, we have final confirmation of what he is really like.

And since Dr M - ultra fascist - is member no.1 of UMNO, it's no surprise that UMNO Baru is the way it is today. Dr M built up UMNO Baru from scratch, personally approving or disapproving memberships in its first days. And we all know that birds of a feather flock together, eh?

Is it any wonder then why UMNO is treating the Malaysian minorities with such disdain? That they are seeking to ghettoise anything deemed "foreign" (or in the Malaysian context, "pendatang") to their ultra-fascist minds?
